Anyway, I just know Shadybug is going to be the best villain this show has and the baddest bitch alive because she's Marinette.
Hawkmoth? Played out.
Chloe? Boring.
Felix & Lila? Awful writing.
Villain!Adrien? We have like 10 of those.
But Villain!Marinette??? We have never seen that before because she's too powerful. The show would end if Marinette even got akumatized, according to Astruc. Marinette never gives up. She always wins, and now she's the villain. And if Shadybug's world is anything like the main universe, then all of the other villains must have been defeated by her by now. If this Marinette is anything like our own, then she probably doesn't even see herself as in the wrong.
Shadybug is the ultimate threat, the strongest antagonist that Marinette will ever face because she is her.
Shadybug is canon Saltinette.

How Villain!Marinette (or Anti-Heroine!Marinette) would work if she had the (unbroken) Peacock Miraculous, instead of the Butterfly?
It'd really depend on which way she'd go.
Antihero Marinette would probably follow along the lines of "Ladybug, Peacock In Disguise" where she uses the Peacock to create her own Ladybug hero. She'd likely become active and be an antihero if there was an issue with the "heroes", like say one of them was Chloe.
Villain Marinette, however...she would likely be even more terrifying with Peacock than the Butterfly. After all, using the Butterfly makes her reliant on someone else to act for her. Sure, it would allow her to foster good will with the people she helps, but she wouldn't be able to directly control them or what they do, so it would be harder for her to keep herself and her activities hidden from any would-be "heroes". There would be much more negotiation involved and she would have to let them know of her plans and risk them revealing those plans or otherwise not following them for their own desires...which has been an issue with akumas in the show.
But Sentimonsters? Those are easy. They'll do as she wishes and follow her directions. Meaning Marinette could create Sentimonsters with very specific skillsets and powers then give them very specific instructions. No negotiation would be required. No risk of them acting on their own with the powers she gives them. And since they can take ANY form she chooses, they would be significantly harder to even notice, much less stop. Especially if no one knows about them...
Let's bear in mind that if we're going the same route as Butterfly Villain Marinette, her reason for villainy would be the same and thus her focus and tactics would be similar...if not somewhat more streamlined without the need to rely on other people and their volatile emotional states.
Marinette could just create a Sentimonster that acts as a bloodhound to locate and retrieve Miraculous. She could also make it like the wind, capable of being invisible and intangible.
She could create a Sentimonster to give certain people bad luck. Like Chloe and her family.
A Sentimonster who searches for secrets and truths, and is specifically targeted at Andre just in time for his reelection campaign and boy, wouldn't that be an awfully inconvenient time for some of his fraud and embezzlement secrets to come to light?
A Sentimonster to follow Chloe and conveniently be present at all times to film her and have video evidence whenever she does anything horrible or even outright commits a crime?
...maybe even a Sentimonster to look like Chloe and act up in the worst way at the worst time that Chloe would be blamed for to break the final straw and cause her father to send her to her mother.

Ok! Guess who's back with a Maribat Idea in the fly lol. Gotta hurry before I forget.
So Villain (Akumatized or not, maybe Gotham rogue?) Marinette. With the song "I know you're out there" playing in the background. Literally.
Everyone in Gotham is confused why this seemingly sweet and innocent song keeps playing on repeat and no one knows where it's coming from so they're all warry. Especially a specific bat because they got reminded of a past friend that had a liking to sending notes with paper planes, which keep raining down on Gotham btw, and would have been really beautiful if not the dread people feel when they notice the blood on each one of them or something like that.
Anyways, people suspect the Riddler but that bat knew better (u pick who, but I want Timnette ) and basically rogue!Mari x Bat lol. With this dreaded song that sounded so criptic for me.
This was rushed so u edit some stuff but I think u get the gist lol. I just wanted to write it down incase I forget

If I was to make an appearance for an akumatized Marinette...
I'd say black hair that flows to her back, her eyes are red, like hell fire, a pitch black mask, her clothing a mix of a soldier, a greek goddess and a knight with the colors of piercing blue and pitch black alongside bits of crimson bloody red.
On one hand, is a long, silver sword with a pitch black handle with her name on it. On her other hand, is her powers. Her powers that punish people and reward people who deserve it, make people suffer the wrong things they think are right. Basically, her powers work like heaven and h3ll.
She won't kill, but she'll make you suffer a sweet, sweet, karmic, painful downfall.
I also feel like she'll use her akumatization to get the butterfly and peacock miraculous.
I'm not the best at writing, so can anyone make something of this for me?

I’ve been thinking about a villain marinette au so:
A bit of background: when master fu ran away from the temple, he lost not only the butterfly and peacock miraculous but ALSO the ladybug miraculous. Plagg is ofc pissed and rip fu.
Marinette’s parents die when she’s 8-9 y/o (so sorry tom & sabine ily) so gina and rolland share custody of her. Marinette stays in paris during the school year and travels with gina during the summer. She loves her grandparents, of course, but she can’t help but wish her parents are here instead.
On one of their travels, marinette and gina go to tibet. They hear about local legends about a temple that disappeared overnight centuries ago, as well as the magical items the temple monks guarded. Turns out the locals have a lot of stories, and the monks aren’t as good at keeping secrets as they think.
As a souvenir, marinette buys a pair of earrings. Maybe she feels a draw to it because of her inherent creation magic, maybe tikki’s subtly sending signals coz she wants to get out of there, or maybe it’s genuinely a coincidence (probably not).
It quickly becomes obvious the stories aren’t really stories (hi, tikki). This isn’t helped by the fact on the first day back at school, ivan turns into a monster tikki immediately clocks as an akuma.
Now, marinette heard about the Wish in tibet, something tikki confirms when she asks marinette to either fight hawkmoth or return the ladybug miraculous to the guardian.
For the first time, marinette feels hope for bringing her parents back.
Marinette, not being dumb, doesn’t immediately out her ‘evil goals’. Instead, she follows tikki’s instructions and goes fight stoneheart. Her partners are chat noir and rena rouge, since master fu didn’t want to send chat out w/o backup. Ladybug hopes to gain their trust so she can steal their miraculous. Tikki isn’t even resisting her coz marinette being a superhero.
Chat and rena are surprised by this extra partner, but maybe their kwamis just forgot to mention her, and who are they to reject extra help?
Master fu, upon seeing ladybug, immediately goes owo. He can’t contact ladybug tho, so he reveals himself to chat and rena early (after the first few weeks of akuma attacks, which he spends failing to figure out ladybug’s identity) and insists they take ladybug’s miraculous away.
He really should’ve contacted chat & rena the instant ladybug appeared.
Chat and rena of course trusts the superhero who has been watching their backs for the past few weeks more than this random elderly who’s insisting they betray their teammate, and just because not even you know ladybug’s identity doesn’t mean she’s EVIL, sir.
Master fu is left with no choice but to capture ladybug on his own. It…doesn’t work well.
(He cracks his back before even making it out of the window.)
With no other choice, master fu entrusts the turtle miraculous to nino, since wayzz is the kwami he trusts the most. Master fu impresses on nino the need to be wary of ladybug, and tells him Protection is the last line of defence if ladybug tries anything nefarious.
…master fu’s warnings doesn’t really work. Ladybug is way too sincere to be evil or something like that.
Right?

Villain!Marinette would be basically personification of that "Join Darkness. We have cookies." meme
She pulls a heel face turn when she finds out the other villains lied.
Lying about cookies is unforgivable!

Hi. Love your blog and your art, really the way you had with storytelling is really interesing. I have a question in the villain AU, whats Tom's general opinion on Adrien? in the last comic he seems annoyed by him. Is he aware about Mari's feelings for him being the cause of Adriens suddenly being really sick?
its a slow evolution, tbh

Editing to add: Tom is a morning person to Marinette Specifically, otherwise he's nonverbal for an hour

Félix: kidnapping is a love language Kagami: you have no social skills, idiot
*two weeks later*
Félix: okay, so when Marinette's at her most vulnerable, I'll gaslight her into thinking I'm her boyfriend, so she'll follow me into an abandoned building where we can put her in an altered mental state and present to her my family's life story in the imaginable most cryptic play of theater she has ever seen, which will reveal to her our horrible secret and the fact that her abusive father-in-law is also her arch-nemesis Kagami: you're so big brained, bae 🥰

Harlequin AU: villain Maribug
This idea just popped into my head: what if Miraculous was a villain origin story? What if all the times where Marinette got treated like dog doo doo by her friends, society, and the narrative actually mattered?? What if all the times Marinette got needlessly traumatized were actually a prelude to a more dramatic mental break, a la Scarlet Witch??? What if Marinette went ape shit???? Here's my idea:
Marinette's descent into villainy starts the same way every other day of her life starts: Chloe and Sabrina bully her; Lila bullies her and none of her friends stand up for her; Chat Noir borderline sexually harasses her OR he acts like all the times he proclaimed his undying love to her never happened so he can avoid going on a date with her; the usual.
As Marinette goes into her room, she gets ready to cry herself to sleep like she does every night. And then, an idea pops into her head...
"Tiki, red spots on." "Marinette, no! You can't use the miraculous for evil! You know it always ends in disaster!" "Disaster for ME!!! I'm the one that always sufferers the most for mine and every else mistakes! No more... NO MORE!!! TIKI, RED SPOTS ON!!!"
Marinette transforms, but not into Ladybug. Her trauma and her 'selfish' desire to do what's good for her mixes into a new persona: Harlequin. Her outfit is a color flipped version of Ladybug's enhanced outfit from season 4, a black body suit with red spots.
Harlequin jumps out of her house and announces herself, "Bonsoir, citizens of Paris. You used to know me as the weak Ladybug, the failure superhero." Gasps can be heard from the late night citizens, wondering why their darling would call herself that. "But from now on my name is Harlequin, the strongest superhero in Earth! And I'll prove my strength by finding Hawkmoth and arresting him! CREATION CHARM!!!"
Harlequin digs deep with her power over creation, forcing her power to work for her the same way Hawkmoth forces his power to make akumas. She creates a magic compass that points in the direction of the Butterfly miraculous, and as soon as she arrives at the Agreste mansion, she knows exactly who has been making her life hell.
Gabriel is asleep when Harlequin crashes through his window and assults him. " Oh, you BETTER wake up!" Harlequin snatches his miraculous away and beats him into submission.
When Adrien walks in, he feels like he's in a nightmare. "Ladybug, what are you doing!" The boy screams as she continues to beat a corpse. "Happy Valentine's day, Adrien! Your abusive father, Hawkmoth, won't be bothering us anytime soon." As she walks out of the room to retrieve her kwamis, she turns back to face Adrien. "And by the way, it's Harlequin now."
Gabriel Agreste, AKA Hawkmoth, is dead. Suicide by cop, of course. It's not like anyone cares. Nathile is sent to a UN jail for life after her connection to Gabriel is found out. Adrien inherents his father's company and is to be allowed to live in the guardianship of the Gorilla until he becomes 18. Harlequin recreates the miraculous and brings them back home. But it's not a happy ending. It's just the beginning.
The next day, Lila is up to her old tricks. Afterschool, Harlequin drags her into the street in font of a local news station. "Bonjour citizens of Paris, Harlequin speaking! This girl, Lila Rossi, has been bullying an innocent girl in her class room for the last year. Lila has claimed an innocent girl cheated on a test, she claimed an innocent girl pushed her down the stairs, all sorts of lies really! She even claimed to be my best friend, although there's one hole in that story... Tiki, red spots off!" As Marinette reveals her identity to everyone in Paris, Lila's heart sinks. "The whole time I have been saving the people of Paris, the whole time I've been helping my friends, this wench has been bullying me! NO MORE! Tiki, red spots on!" Harlequin swings away into the distance...
The next day, Lila Rossi disappears. The people of Paris don't care, she bullyed their savior after all. Meanwhile, the akuma class' reputation is destroyed, each one becoming a social outcast.
The day after, Harlequin finds out that the Mayor of Paris has been breaking one two many laws. She decides that he, his wife, and Chloe are all going to go to a "nice family prison".
That's what she told the public. Harlequin used the bunny miraculous to send them back in time into the French Revolution. Chloe will never bully Marinette again.
The day Harlequin becomes the new Empress of France is met with cheers. She saved the world from Hawkmoth. She erased all crime in the country. She seperated France from the UN, so that they may be their own superpower again. Longue vie la Harlequin!
"Marinette, you need to stop! Don't you see that this is crazy?" Alya pleeds to her best friend. "Tell me Alya, where were you when I was being bullied by Lila? NEVER TELL ME WHAT I NEED!!!" Alya is sent away to the camps, where everyone who dare disagrees with Harlequin is sent.
Adrien is at a crossroads. If he chooses to love Harlequin, then his life will be full of joy and madness. Harlequin forgives him for all the wrong he did to her, and accepts him with open arms. Togather, they become the rulers of France... but their relationship is one of imbalance. Just as the Ladybug miraculous is so much more powerful that the Cat, Marinette is so much more powerful than Adrien. Everyday, Adrien thinks Marinette looks more and more like his father. He never says it out loud tho... He dosen't want to be punished again.
If Adrien rejects Harlequin, Kill Bill by Sza plays. Then Harlequin actually kills him.
As Marinette lays in her bed, she still cries herself to sleep. She has everything she could ever want... and she still has nothing...

i saw your what if Marinette was a villain aus. It would be an interesting case though it could see her as more of the anti-hero. one who aids those in need but doesn't mind dishing out chaos (at least on those who deserve it) but would care about the wish. Still, reguardless of the type of villain/anti-hero she'd be, would Marinette be more respectful and kinder to the kwamis unlike gabriel.
It'd honestly be a case where Marinette would be a "villain" only insomuch that certain parties would be out to get her and accuse her of being one instead of her actually being evil.
A still morally good "anti-hero" version of Marinette would use the Miraculous to help people and inadvertently make herself the target of those like Gabriel who would be after the Miraculous and probably try to use his influence and own Miraculous to create "heroes" (aka, City-led "official" Miraculous users) to try and stop her. Poor Marinette in this case would be the "good person trying to do good and ending up dragged into conspiracy" through no real fault of her own.
A less morally good Marinette would more accurately fit the anti-hero mold in that she'd use the Miraculous for less "kind" purposes. Not "revenge", of course. That would be beneath her and misuse of the Miraculous. No, all she would be doing would be correcting a long-standing power disparity by taking away everything that allows Chloe to get away with being horrible. Her dad's power as the Mayor. Maybe even his wealth and social status. It's not like she was really hurting Chloe or anything...after all, Chloe's perfectly fine and at no point injured. She's just forced to live like all the people she's abused over the years. And now there won't be anything to protect her when she bullies others.
Honestly, even better if this is a different take on Chloe's Lament. It'd be the result of Chloe's own Wish. She would know Marinette has the Butterfly Miraculous and is behind everything happening to her and her family...but there's nothing she can do about it...
Either way, Marinette focuses on helping people in need. She helps them accomplish their goals and find ways to better their situations. If she does seek justice, it's in less obvious ways. She doesn't just transform them into monsters and send them after whomever made them upset, that would just make THEM the bad guys! No, no. She just helps them in other ways. Putting Rose in a position to meet Prince Ali so she tell him of her admiration personally. Helping Juleka break her curse by creating a personal photoshoot. Allowing Damocles to become a hero. Helping Kitty Section get their video and talents seen by the world. Giving Penny a break.
...and if certain things happen to those who deserve it, well that's just coincidence! Like Chloe getting soaked by something before meeting Prince Ali. Or revealing Bob Roth as a thief and XY as a fake. Or stopping the very deadly and unethical space dumpsters. Or slowly dismantling Andre's power until he loses his elected office and Chloe goes from "Mayor's Daughter" to "Ordinary Civilian". All just natural consequences of their own actions.
But of course regardless of her position, Marinette would be better to the kwamis. They're such sweet little angels! And she wouldn't make them do anything against their will!
...but of course, they'd be all too happy to help out the sweet young girl.

Fanfiction Prompt
Gabriel Akumatizes a surgeon who lost a young child on the operating table. Asclepius is born, the great healer. For hours he walks the halls of the city's hospitals, curing everything and anything. Cancer, Alzheimer's, broken bones, all manner of ailments. Then, raising the child he'd lost. Raising others gone before their time. Until Hawkmoth issues the ultimatum. "Bring me Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculouses, or I will take your powers. Succeed, and you may keep them forever." A relatively short fight follows, for Asclepius is a healer, not a fighter. As Ladybug prepares to cast the cure, she's surrounded and accosted by tearful people. "Don't do it!" "I had cancer!" "I was dying!" "My son was dead, and he brought him back! You'll kill my son!" To their horror, she casts it anyway. As the ladybugs clear, everyone is still fine. "It's the Miracle Cure," she says, "not the Miracle Reset. It's intended to correct misuse of Miraculous magic by people with ill will or corrupted hearts. What we saw today was the closest thing to the correct, intended use of the butterfly in over 180 years." Later, Felix calls Gabriel, "Congratulations uncle, how's Aunt Emilie?" "What are you talking about!? You know exactly how she's doing! I was once again thwarted in my attempt to secure Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculouses." "I… you… you know your Akuma… like… raised the dead. Right?" "Yes? What of it?" "He… let's see, according to the news sites, he is known to have raised a child that he'd lost during an operation several hours earlier, raised a fully autopsied body, raised someone decapitated in a severe industrial accident, and even raised someone who had just been cremated." "So? The powers of the Miraculous are great, infinite, what is your point?!" "So… you had a guy on the hook who could, and did, literally turn a pile of charred bone dust back into a living breathing human… and you diDN'T THINK TO SAY 'HEY, I'VE GOT A DEAD BODY IN MY BASEMENT I WANT YOU TO COME LOOK AT?!" "I…" "Goodbye uncle…"
