May I ask you about your podcasts?
YES YOU MAY ABSOLUTELY
listen to the Vanishing Act for a comedic and occasionally emotional show about an assortment of assholes trying to figure out a vanishing box while evading nazis and the like (2 seasons, possibly ongoing)
i cant write one of these posts without recommending The Fall of the House of Sunshine. An absurdist comedy with the first season being centered around a teeth cult and a detective but it gets crazier after that (3 seasons, complete)
Wooden Overcoats! a fun(n) filled show about two competing funeral homes on a tiny island. all my suggestions are comedy today lol (3 seasons, complete)
might as well continue the comedy theme with Who Killed Avril Lavigne which is a pop punk time traveling show with prophecies and warped tour and it’s a musical with some great songs (1 season, complete)

Vanishing Act by Andra Dill
Ok, my loves, this is almost the last story in Shifter Time: A Limited Edition Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy Collection (I think, I think that’s the full title of this book bundle). 16 -1 stories. One hell of a lot of pages. And one hell of a lot of low expectation being either over and/or underwhelming. This story sits at 96%, 54min left in book. I also had zero expectations. I just went for the price of ending this long book under a week or so. Lucky for me, I do have more books to read after that (I think 5 more), but I have also completed the already edit challenge on goodreads, and I’ll leave it at that. This book, sadly, couldn’t find a cover, so — you’ll have a very old art u made with very old logos of mine to persuade you into clicking on it. This review won’t be available on Goodreads, cause I couldn’t find it there either (maybe it’s under a different title, but I have little to none patience to find it in such tiny screen — writing this is unnerving as it is).
Kayla is a lynx shifter with a power to sense magic. For about 8 pages (yes, the whole book) she’s tasked with finding the source of trouble for a client. Apparently, client’s deceased husband has been making things disappear. With Kayla’s ability she manages to sense magic items. Her partner Mateo has an idea, she might be 50/50 with. She ends up getting a very out of this world help, and the book ends. Most cliffhanger thing ever. Disliked.

The lady who was the focus of the story was abducted by the bounty hunter sent to get her, Lucy apparently applied for an Agent Afloat position and now doesn’t want it, and the lady’s son rode his bike to base to report her missing. Kai and Lucy got into a dogs-vs-cats debate, the bounty hunter was nice enough to make sure the dog got back to its apartment, and the sneak peek with the ‘victim’ stealing the car and escaping ended the act. Predictably, Tennant immediately assumed the bounty hunter was the bad guy, and acted like he was below them. Just as predictably, Lucy was reluctant to tell Whistler about her Agent Afloat position, which of course came back to bite her. Ernie provided the fugitive’s double-identity backstory, and Theo ran away from two very conspicuous not-at-all-teacher-looking bad guys chasing him through the halls of a middle school filled with minors. Jesse got Theo to help by bribing him with a sundae, and Ernie brought up Lucy’s Agent Afloat issue and made the sensible suggestion that she should’ve withdrawn her application when she and Whistler got back together. Tennant displayed her condescending fake-nice attitude with Theo, Kai inadvertently spilled the Agent Afloat beans, and Jesse got punched and shoved out of a car, which was a form of karma considering he threatened grievous bodily harm upon the bounty hunter who was just doing his job. Whistler insulted the bounty hunter, and the fact they didn’t notice him following them or realize the bad guys planted a tracker says a lot about their detective skills. Ending the act with Jesse in mid-leap was a lackluster way of building suspense, and of course the lady turned out to be innocent. Lucy told Whistler about her first girlfriend and decided to go, and got dramamine as a parting gift.
