bolin is such a funny character. he dated the avatar for like 12 hours, he's been kidnapped multiple times, he almost lost his bending, he's the world's first movie star, he's a pro athlete, he's a cop, he's no longer a cop, he pulled a princess, he was directly involved in two civil wars, he keeps ending up in jail, he possesses a type of bending we only see in one other character in the entire franchise, his bending skill genuinely rivals some of the best benders in the world and it's just kinda taken as a given, his best friend is a rat, he is 16 years old.

In a another world, Peak of Combat has a plot that involves Time Travel Shenanigans which puts V in one of the Funniest Situations.

for donnie, leo will gladly give every scrap of patience and grace and gentleness he has. he doesn't mind explaining things. he doesn't mind telling his brother the same things over and over. he doesn't mind it when donnie forgets or doesn't understand or needs his help to remember or process things.

but he misses the banter. the back-and-forth. the stupid fights and pranks and 'you said's' and 'i told you so's.' and, perhaps a bit selfishly, he misses when he didn't always feel like he had to be the bigger person for him. he misses when he still had the space to be childish and immature and petty towards his twin, and it wouldn't hurt either of them the way it tends to now.

I think Shiro is bad at cooking in a “overcooks everything out of paranoia about raw food and giving someone food poisoning” combined with “I’m busy and need food cooked fast so we’re putting the stove burner on 7 instead of 5” way so everything he makes is a little charred and a little tough and dry and over cooked and he’ll eat it but no one wants him cooking for them ever. I think he does better when recipes have very specific descriptors of how you know it’s done. “Turn off when bubbles form” type things. He’s okay at baking when it has specific directions, or when it’s “when a toothpick comes out clean” but if it’s “golden brown around edges” he will second guess if it’s golden brown or not and burn the cookies. I think he loves appliances like instapot or rice cookers where you dump ingredients in and push settings and it comes out done. Don’t make him make decisions about if food is done he will overthink it and err on the side of caution and burn it.

piping hot Percy Jackson (tv show) take, but i honestly think that it's really good for the main 3 actors to not be doing publicity; and i'm going to be just a little sad for them in particular when the sag-aftra strike is over

sure, okay, it'd be cool to hear what they have to say about filming, but also i think it's not really a bad thing that three literal children aren't going around doing constant publicity interviews in front of media and giant crowds of people

i'd rather panels like we got at NYCC, where the designers and writers talk about their process! that was awesome! maybe talk to some of the adult actors!

i'd rather let the kids be kids--go to school and film other fun projects and post embarrassing shit on tiktok and NOT have to deal with the press.

it's cool to learn about the show but also the amount of publicity child actors get is absolutely fucked up. remember how concerned you were about your self image when you were thirteen? remember how you felt about your body? yeah. okay. now imagine you're constantly being poked at by stylists, and photographed, and filmed, and your face is blown up to mega-size on zillions of billboards... and don't you think that'll fuck with your brain a little?

like, i don't think anyone has done anything objectively wrong here (aside from some concerning industry norms) but also i'm very happy these teenagers AREN'T going to NYCC or SDCC or giving tons of media interviews or whatever.
