It's not often talked about that Horikoshi has characters in BNHA that are (possible) references to a previous work of his, Oumagadoki Zoo.

Gang Orca -> Sakamata

Uwabami -> Uwabami

Hawks & that Bird Guy Hero from "Two Heroes" -> Takahiro

Shishido -> Shishido

These are the characters from OZ.

Characters from BNHA!

I also want to add Miruko reminds me of the protagonist from OZ, but that's for another post. 😏

Also, you know how the Baseball OVA Shishido and Gang Orca has a rivalry? Well, it ain't the first time because in OZ, there is an arc where Shishido and Sakamata face off.

i hate my hero with every fibre of my being. my ult fav anime is dbz and other favs are naruto, saiki k, ohshc and monster

My favorite manga is oumagadoki zoo :3

#oumagadoki zoo is by the author of my hero tho LOL and he recycled a lot of characters from it to use in mha #like gang orca and uwabami. but the protagonists are pretty much a female deku and a rabbit shigaraki #theres a heap of anime i love but arent favorites like angel beats and witchblade and inuyasha. i really likr early 2000s anime tbh

[MHA Vigilantes + even more Betten sketches]

(1) Koichi Haimawari for the last day of volume 6 of Vigilantes being free online (Japan only)

(2) Kazuho Haneyama promoting the release of volume 15 of vigilantes (also only in Japan)

(3) Rin and she who must not be named

(4) Tetsu the Tank and Rojiya Yonenaga (I had to look up their names) but you know, it’s knockoff MHA Tony Stark and Captain America

(5&6) Kayama Nemuri aka Midnight in casual clothes

(7) Endeavor, Ingenium (Iida Tensei), and Best Jeanist in their professional outfits from chapter SP:1 of Vigilantes.

(8) Pro heroes Mirko and Uwabami

Most of these sketches were done by Betten for the promotion of some free chapters of Vigilantes featuring Pro Heroes while the 6th season of the MHA anime airs, but only for the Japanese version of Vigilantes

Do I have other Halloween/spooky themed things that were planned or in the works? Yes. Did I instead do more of these bc they’re really fun to work on? Also yes.

There is something so freeing about drawing in this style compared to my usual more detailed style, and it’s made me do quite a few of these so enjoy!!!!

Uwabami costume redesign 🐍 I also wanna expand more on her quirk:

Not only can the snakes on her head detect victims and/or villains, but she can also temporarily turn people to stone by staring into their eyes, like Medusa in the Greek mythology.

How long the person remains a statue varies depending on their size. For example, someone like Mineta or Nezu would last 5 minutes. An average sized person would be 10-15 minutes. Slightly larger people like Shoji, Gang Orca, or Fatgum would be 20-25 minutes. And finally, someone as big as Gigantomachia or Mt Lady would be an hour or half.

There are no side effects when the person returns to normal other than mild grogginess, like they just woke up from a nap.
