I finally caught up to dndads after not having listened to it since June, so in order to not make a 1000 posts I will make one mega-post of all my reactions.

I feel so sad for Normal because we saw thus arc coming from a mile away. I remember listening to episodes and bejng fristrated with how other characters were responding to Normal cause I KNEW it was making this worse in his mind. and like I get them too they're all going trough heinous shit but like...fucking ouch man this was so preventable

Super Awesomesauce factoids about my super cool Coroika rewrite

Okay so first lemme lay down the species stuff (Only for the ones who I changed species of)

Rider - Vampire Squid

Aloha - Firefly Squid (OF FUCKING COUR)

Skull - Colossal Squid (As mentioned in his info card he is the shortest Colossal Squid)

Emperor + Prinz - Neon Flying Squids

Eging Jr - Japanese Flying Squid

N-Pacer - Purpleback Flying Squid

Wireglasses - Vampire Squid

Ocho + Shellmet - Mimic Octopi

Yeah you can tell there's a theme with Emperor's. Anyway! More under cut

Quick doodle of Emperor before we continue

Emperor is black because this is my rewrite and I'm allowed to do what I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway

Emperor and Prinz' tentacles and certain spots around their eyes glow in the dark vaguely, but they can will it to glow brighter if so desired. They usually do this during splatfests.

They also have much higher/farther super jumps, squid rolls and squid surges, and are able to gain far more air using their inkjets Also, with their species, they can stay airborne longer than the average squid if so desired, however they try not to do these a lot considering it is actually very difficult for them to control their jumps and whatnot. The scar on Emperor's eye is proof of that.

Ignore the Houzuki bit I am simply a firm believer in the Houzuki family theory.

So that's emperor! Now uhhhh Who's next.

Aloha!! Aloha is... How do I say it? A defective? Unsure. He has no control over his glow. In the dark, his skin, eyes, and tentacles glow cool patterns, his skin glow defaults to the exact opposite of his ink colour!

He can, though, change it! As seen here

Also, if you look at their like. head long enough you can tell that they have three sets of ears! One is the default pair, one is really small and one is just raised up too high. The other two do allow him to hear... slightly better, but they're just annoying, generally.

Skull, during Team Blue's rematch, fuses with his Special on accident. He just got a wee bit careless. Does it hurt? Absolutely yes. Can he do anything about it? No. His squid form is partially Kraken while also.. Not? And his head hurts at a constant. He also has the pattern around his body usually. There's a lot more physical changes but we won't get into those yet. This is what you get for using a special your body isn't physically capable of handling, Skull. You dummy.

But, not all is lost. Avi comes over to his place a lot to help him out with things that he. Cannot do anymore because of the near constant pain he's in. But that's okay because Skull can still snipe people and it's AWESOME. Just uhhh don't let him activate his special(if its the Kraken) he will probably Die. Like I mentioned in his info card I think, he is deformed. This is not good.

Ocho and Shellmet are siblings! That's why they are both Mimic Octopus. They were actually both Octarian Soldiers but they were both also very poorly treated so that's awesome. Ocho ended up separating from Shellmet and was taken into the Metro but he got out.

When he and Shellmet reunited they managed to get to the surface and ended up doing a LOT of fucking around and finding out in order to blend in with the civilians of Splatsville. Do note though their military mindsets stuck the whole way through. Their fucking around and finding out is actually how they met Wireglasses, where Ocho battled him, lost, and Wire (Not knowing shit abt them) was like "Youre strong holy moly. Wanna join us" And Ocho with zero hesitation because he craves positive attention said yes and Shellmet was like "ur so dumb. [Joins to look after him]"

there's this one girl in my choir and everytime she talks i just cringe into another dimension. it's so obvious she wants to be the cool mom friend but she's just so condescending and snarky it never works. she complains to me about "her child" [my friend since jr high] being sooo needyyy and whining about how hard it is for HER to deal with my friend being emotional after getting broken up with. She also gets super pissy when someone makes a joke about being gay, like ur in choir we're all either lesbians or trans sorry you feel like a minority for being cis-het 🙄

I love this episode already. I've worked in family owned diners with rivalries, I love stories about italian new yorkers & I've definitely seen goncharov (tho that also had russian mafia).

Poor alexis, that is humiliating! This is so sad! Who has a live band playing? She's 17 cool. She was 15 in s1e1 & she's 17 near the end of s3. Cool

I love all the nicks & their names this is the life. It reminds me of that steven universe episode with the fry shop & pizza shop.

Not super funny, either of you. Nick Jr. Uh, authentic, not terrific. I love the new york pizza scene & how everyone knows who is whom but it's so confusing & I loved this episode so much when I first watched it

meeee mmmh ive applied to 10 schools/majors because that's the most we can do here and i mainly applied for LEA which is like applicated languages w/ english & a 2nd language and i chose Korean. so 4 schools for that major (5 if u count the school that offers a double major LEA korean + management 🤕) & then also a few schools for info communication & a few others for science of languages + media communications so BASICALLY ! something centered about languages but mainly english + korean ..

they are all over the country though so i hope i get accepted near where i live but i don't have much faith because the school near (LEA english korean one) had an admission rate of 2-8% 😹 BUT ITS OK that's how uni works alala

what are some of your hopes and dreams for splatoon 3?? and DONT say apartments literally everyone says that its basically a given. for me i want new brella variants and special traits for all the weapons to give them more personal advantages, like how they gave the big ink tank to jr. and i want more unlockables as u progress, like idk stuff to spend ur money on or whatever like these tickets from salmon run i barely use and i already have maxed out money and 151 super sea snails. also better customization like they probably wont give us chubby cephalopods because theyre COWARDS!!!!!!!!! but more hair options like in a later update or freckes or heterochromia would be cool. or custom win/game start animations like maybe u can unlock new ones thru hero mode or smth :)

ok!!! Basically there are 2 plots that converge, a silly lil camp in the woods and a fae love story! Let’s go under the cut for this cus I’m gonna be explaining them for a hot minute lol

I’m gonna make a breakdown of all the individual characters in a minute but for now here’s a chart I just finished so u know whos where in all this

(Eros not on here but he’s a forest folk) So I’ll give u an expo on both of the plots (feel free to come ask questions as ur reading or after ur done, I would Love to talk abt this au as much as possible)

The fae side: Eliana here’s from two of her townsfolk (the twins) that there are fae in the woods. All her fellow townspeople say they’re just being pranksters again (the amount of times they’ve tried to convince the town there’s totally a werewolf just outside of town is too many for them to be a trustworthy source- and as aspiring nightwalker hunters of course they’re trying to spot fae in every leaf and under every rock), but Eliana, curious, decides to sneak off one night to investigate. After all if there’s a fae out there, it’s her responsibility to ward it off from her town! what she finds though is not a silly lie from the twins or a terrifying manipulative monster- in A flower patch she sees her, the most beautiful charming looking fairy she’s every seen, all alone weaving a flower crown in the woods. He spots her, and although she’s scared at first and wards them with her axe, she can’t bear to attack him. they hit it off really quickly, and Shirley shows her the beauty of the hidden parts of the forest, lit up by the magic of the moon, as opposed to the normal sunlit forest Eliana is used to. She returns home at dawn with promises to come back the next day. Meanwhile Shirley goes home to his ghost husband like ‘omg I just met the prettiest lady evr, she’s coming back tomorrow can we keep her’ and Thomas is like ‘bro we already have jr‘ and Shirley is like ‘no but I want to kiss her 🥺 and hold hands 🥺🥺🥺 and trap her in the fae lands forever with me 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺’ and Thomas is obviously slightly jealous but he’s like ‘yeah whatever’ bcus he knows if Shirley does try and make out with some daywalker he’s prolly gonna kill her by accident anyways jdgfufndkc. so Eliana starts going out every night with the excuse that she’s choppin down wood, (ninas suspicious of this excuse but Michael tells her eliana wouldn’t lie,) and Shirley keeps trying to get her to stay forever and eat all their food and introduces her to Thomas and jr and stuff, and it’s nice and all but shirleys making her stay for longer and longer, and he can’t handle letting her go for even a second. Eliana doesn’t mind tho, she’s totally blind with love, and eventually she’s tells the town abt Shirley but that he’s totally not like other fae and definitely cool and there’s mixed feelings, some ‘awwww Eliana finally found a girlfriend, so sweet 🥰’s and some ‘they’re not different ur just being manipulated, we should go kill him’s and even some ‘huh, wasn’t that the name of the guy Harley was crying abt not being able to remember, lol crazy coincidence, Emerson let’s go bully harley’s.

yeah but Shirley has fucking crazy attachment issues and horrible death magic, so eventually one morning he does get REALLY upset abt his girlfriend leaving, like the whole tree (Thomas and Shirley live in a treehouse) is dying around him and Thomas is holding jr begging him to calm down, and Elianas finally like ‘hmm. Maybe this was a bad idea’ and that’s about where we are rn with that whole thing.

CAMP TIME: so as shown from chart above, there’s some ppl living in a lil forest camp together :) emi and graci moved there because they wanna learn how to hunt nightwalkers >:) there was a reason for it a couple years ago but they kind of forgot what it was (cough Shirley disappearing cough) but they’re still dead set on it! And lucky dink, as they’re moving to camp big Harley comes home to visit his brothers and ends up joining the camp for a bit since all 3 of his brothers are there! Camp Side of the story doesn’t have a ton of plot, mostly Harley low key having a crisis abt how busy his life at his actual home is and how everything feels so horribly off here even though hypothetically things haven’t changed much since he left and the twins fucking around and causing trouble around camp. Hallow thinks it’s funny that the stupid kids wanna hunt night walkers cus he is one, so he gives them the tip that theres a vampire in camp and they become dead set on it being Jane. All the kids like playing with Ben like he’s a whole ass jungle gym, he thinks it’s cute. kibi gets dragged around by emi and graci while they try to find the werewoof at the edge of town (sadly they only find Andy, darn, but he plays them some songs so not a total waste. also yes Andy is obviously the werewolf the twins are just stupid GDSHDSJD.) charlotte sits around crying and the other kids and counselors like to play a game where they all take turns trying to make her laugh (the first time the twins came to camp Emerson made her giggle, belle and Ben were so happy they were just sitting there sobbing bcus their girl finally smiled again, so Charlie quietly suggested they make it a new daily game because he hadn’t seen Ben and belle that hopeful in years :,) ). jr and Maria go around biting peoples ankles and collecting sticks. After hearing emi and graci talk abt town, Jane decided she wants to go visit town, Danny‘s super hesitant but the other 3 camp counselors all agree that since she’s 16 now she’s definitely old enough to go where she wants. While shes there she goes to a festival and meets Andy (17) and it’s nice :) also hallow has ero Boyf who visits sometimes and Danny’s got husb Sébastien who he and Jane visit a lot.

ya that’s pretty much all the plot stuff for now! there’s some more backstory stuff abt thomas dying with Charlotte watching and Shirley going missing and what not but yea that’s pretty much it :D

- i want it to be 2D, but cgi/live-action works too. the medium doesnt exactly matter as long as it looks good. big thing is you never see the humans faces, the key focus is on the toys and should only Be on the toys. my voice hc for Ann would have 2 be Kate Micucci. but Andy is up in the air, rlly any weird white boy internet comedian works, like john mulaney or smthn? idk :/

- its a musical! obviously. u cant have a raggedy movie with some musical numbers. i would like it to be broadway-esque in genre but if they have 2 have a cash grab radiofriendly song in there thats cool too as long as its like... good

- main plot is a volland raggedy ann (one of the first made raggedys from 1918-late 1920s) is trying to find her brother after years of being separated. but due to being holed up in an attic for almost like. 90 years. she doesnt really remember much of him, other than the fact that they have matching tags indicating their previous owner. she sets out on a journey to find him, and its ur typical fish out of water/Im In The Future Woah kinda deal. when she does find andy, its in a toy museum, full of other raggedys..! andy is this rough n tough kinda guy, very rude and very brash. key point here is andy doesnt think ann is His Ann, kinda having this preconceived notion that His Ann would've been Cool and Adventurous. not the mousey kinda naive Ann he met, even tho This Ann is very certain that they were Real Sibs! (the brand does exist within the movies universe, so there are TONS of different anns and andys, thus the reason why andy is so skeptical). anyway shenanigans ensue, adventures are had, etc etc. the key point to this whole thing is that you never really get to know if they truly are sibs, at least, the sibs they knew Way Back When. but they grow closer n eventually see eachothr as sibs and thATS what MATTERS

- i want the moral of the story to be that, like, blood relation doesnt equate family. yea you never exactly Know if this ann and andy were 'actually' sibs but you know that by the end of the movie they are. its just a good moral thats not rlly explored in a lot childrens media.

- anns character is more similar to the 1977 animated movie, but with some. actual character. so, shes sweet n kind n affectionate, but also a little ditzy and naive. alongside that, shes rlly smart, handy and brave! shes forgetful, but adamant about the things she remembers. shes also fairly wise, in this childlike way. as her animator from the 1977 movie, shes like a wise little girl who is also 70 years old. shes like,,, v quirky fun lead, with some deep seated issues but also Gets Shit Done.

-andy is also similar to the 1977 movie, but again with like, some actual character added to him. hes a strong tough terrific boy, who's also audacious in nature? like hes just rude and obnoxious and a know-it-all. but, alongside that, he's insecure and anxious when met with Real Challenge. he often frets about remaining in Good Condition, mainly bc hes already had to get his leg reattached once, hes worth a LOT u know!!! but hes also sentimental, in a way that one would either not notice or not get to see. he takes his past very seriously, and even though he cant remember too much since, again, 100ish years is a long time, he finds himself drawn 2 what once was! so like, ur typical brave cocky lead, but also hes kind of just a big baby..!

- their personality differences definitely cause them to butt heads, and woild obv cause the keypoint in the movie where they go their separate ways. (NO it wont be the misunderstanding trope i hate those... itll probably just be an outright disagreement)

- i wont get into the actually Plot yet, bc i had too many ideas, but im certain itll lean toward either trying to find Ann's Andy, with Rude Andy™ being the sidekick. or something to do with the toy museum andy resides in.. hmmmm

It fucking sucked and he's trying to force it all down, like tamping on vom when he's on a roller coaster and kinda overindulged on the munchies. It's not working and he hates it.

You know, the worst part isn't that the purple dicks (might be but probably aren't because that has some super fucked-up implications with regards to Morgan and a couple fucking dozen other things) are their dads. It's that, out of all of them, as far as he could tell, he shouldn't be the worst off right now.

Bill...Bill wasn't a bad dude. Not really. He just wasn't ever around. And sure, that fucking sucked ass for lil' Glenn back when he had shit he needed a dad for, but also...it's not like he hit him, like it seemed Willy did. And he wasn't verbally shitty like Barry. He just...wasn't.

So he was hyperventilating in the van, Nick inches away, cool as hell, and he had no damn reason to be doing that. Another dope fucking dick move for Glenn Close. Hurrah. Mark it on the board.

Instead, he opted to silently have a breakdown. Everyone else had it worse than him anyway. He didn't deserve to make his issues everyone else's. He'd just be seen and not heard, silent, in the Odyssey, like he deserved.

(He very pointedly was not thinking about how his chest hurt from clenching when Willy got close to him. He very pointedly was ignoring the hammering of his heart because hey, this always happened when be saw Willy; it was a Dad Thing and it's fine. It's cool. He has Terry Jr with him and he doesn't need to worry about that for now.)

(He tried to shut up the echoing remainder of Willy saying "this is what I sound like when I'm fucking mad" that's in his head. It's been constant for minutes. He's having trouble remembering if it's real or another one of his night terrors.)

No, he's busy thinking about Samantha and insurance and Terry Jr and if Paeden is his brother or his kid or just some dude they like having around. Nothing more, nothing less.

And his hands aren't shaking because Willy didn't drow and he didn't not help him back on dry land and it's not his fault because he's here, alive, kinda, and that's good that's good that's good—

It's just that...he had an okay childhood! He did! But Barry didn't...and there just was this whole...and he...!

Daryl felt guilty. Was it okay for him to feel guilty? He felt more guilty for feeling guilty. A guilt oroborous.

It's just...everyone else's dads seemed to be real pieces of shit and also fucking the jackasses in purple who kidnapped them and then later their kids and his? His was...noticibly missing. It put thinks into perspective, in a way.

He felt guilty coz it seemed like his dad was the only one that didn't suck.

Willy Stampler was loud and angry and it put a chunk of Ron's mannerisms and hangups into a clearer light. Bill Close was strangely laid back and chill in a way that felt like cold rain and cigarette smoke instead of warm blankets and music, like Glenn. Barry Oaks was stupidly passive aggressive, full of vitriol and spite disguised as calm suggestions, and it set Henry off in a way Daryl hadn't seen before.

So he drove the Odyssey towards Neverwinter with everything he had, choosing to think about how Grant and Lark and Sparrow and Terry Jr and Nick and Paeden were there. About how they didn't die. About how they were gonna go home. About how close their goal was.

And he didn't think about his dad. Not. One. Bit.
