Living in an unheated house: what consequences for our health?
After an exceptionally mild autumn, winter temperatures have now settled in. But in a context of energy crisis, some are still reluctant to turn on the heating. However, living in an unheated home is not without impact on our health.
” ten degrees, this is the average temperature at which Europeans will live this winter if they cannot afford to heat their homes,” Damian Bailey, professor of…

Holding sand cast urethan foam mask in my studio, early 70's. I cast the eyes out of acrylic resin with dyes, using glass molds, very thin, that were available at the time. The other figure was sort of a take on a kachina, also sand cast. And also you can see a bit of some fiberglass windows I made using deck cloth & resin with dyes. I put the fiberglass loose in a frame and just let it find its own ballooning shape. The wall enclosed my bedroom.
borrowed a dehumidifier today because my house is. damp. and nothing ever dries. but good lord this thing is loud. i swear it is vibrating through the ceiling (i am currently downstairs, it is upstairs where the wet laundry is, with the door closed). my house is not large enough to get any further away from it so i guess i just have to live with feeling like i'm living close to but not immediately on a building site? (this is the most comparable vibration experience i can think of)
Had our UPDIF prep trial this weekend which made for a tired boy. I had to pull him from a few games because they forgot to comb the arena and he was having problems with the footing at speed.
Good news is that we have successfully moved over to the X pattern for 4 way play. We should still be able to hit 3 quads
hey hello hi there i'm still alive, somehow, but the semester that just started is doing its best to change that :'' ) finishing up my thesis and having to go through a depressingly lengthy commute so i can work in some dingy underground lab at the very edge of town is tough on my Brain & Body.
but! the progress on the game has been going at a steady (though a tiny bit sluggish) pace. tbh i have enough features to drop another update post but i'm procrastinating ultra-hard. the most important thing that i got working is probably a visual depiction of damage that's nice and modular - scars, bruises, cuts, holes and other wounds work kinda like "stickers" that can be placed pretty much anywhere. also, i've managed to upgrade the render pipeline of the project to a better one and almost nothing broke! i don't want to get into the details, but render pipelines are probably the single fuckiest thing in unity.
tl;dr i'm very busy with university stuff but the project is progressing. i'm too lazy to write a proper update post. as an apology (and a demo of some upcoming ragdoll-related features!) take this funny glitch i got:
