Personal Headcanons for SOULs!

Since your SOUL contains all the energy required for your very being to exist, I suspect that they have a warm feeling to them. And I believe their 'glow' proves this theory.

Your SOUL is a very sensitive thing, even the slightest of touch could send shivers down your spine. And it's very easy to accidentally hurt and/or damage it if not careful.

You know whenever you have a warm feeling inside your body? Yeah, that's your SOUL acting up.

Those without a SOUL will never be able to truly feel affection toward others, since a major part of empathy and/or one's caring nature comes from the energy harnessed in your SOUL. (Refer to the 3rd point.)

shea's undertale headcanon #3: Monster Gender

i mentioned in my first headcanon that i think monsters reproduce asexually. as such, clearly monsters don't need that gender specific genitalia or what have you, so monster gender norms are likely far less strict and more fluid than what humans are used to. monsters don't really care about gender all that much, to be honest. i think maybe it/its may be a baseline, considering you see a lot of monsters in game (specifically the side characters, for the most part) referred to as such, and it is a fairly popular set of pronouns in the underground. but i think it mostly has to do with vibes

monsters are already heavily based off vibes because of their magical makeup - i mean, the amount of damage a monster takes on a hit basically is decided by not only the strength of the weapon but also the intentions of the "assailant". so basically a monster's gender is whatever it feels like being. whether that's male or female or both or neither or something else completely, it doesn't really matter - AND it doesn't necessarily stay the same. gender fluidity is a lot more common and a lot more accepted in monster society. plus, given the fact that their bodies are more magic than physical matter, they can also probably shift their physiology to some degree to match the gender they feel more aligned with at the time.

anyways i wish i was a monster and lived in monster society, it would be great

Opinion

Alright. Some people think that the monsters are forcing Asgore/Papyrus/Sans, whoever the current king is to kill. I personally don’t think that happens.

The endings, even when a lot of people die puts more emphasis on hopelessness than human murder, unless Undyne is in charge. I suppose that could just be Sans concealing information.

Asgore seems to think that killing you must happen. That could be a result of outside pressures, or it could be him making an awful choice for reasons that are understandable, personal, and not justified, and feeling that he needs to continue. Because he can’t have done it for nothing.

But if a lot of the monsters really want you dead? Not just killing by accident, because humans and bullet patterns don’t mix the same way monsters and bullet patterns do? Well. That makes a lot of murder seem more justified.

Not the genocide/no mercy route. The Whimsuns can’t hurt you. Monster Kid is a child. Hunting down monsters to fulfil a quota is just immoral. Evil. But a lot of murder, sure. I mean. They want you dead. They’re probably trying to kill you the whole time, why not give them a taste of their own medicine.

This is more for any Frisk that might be stuck without a player. Players can turn the game off. But really. They’re trying to kill a human, who they either know is a kid, or could figure out is a kid, if they bothered to do some research. Just because the player is puppeting around a child doesn’t make them any less okay with killing the aforementioned child. Seems a bit like justice, to kill those that would kill a child. Even if they can be convinced.
