when i said i would have deranged rant abt c!zam yesterday i thought i was going to have derangements abt s4 zam. and that wasnt entirely false i am also having derangements about s4 zam but im also having derangements about s3 (just rewatched the finale with some friends and remembered why zam's s3 finale was the video that made me go Oh. i CARE about lifesteal now huh)
anyway i'm thinking about s3 finale era zam showing up to meet with spoke ready for a fight. his inventory full of gapples and cobwebs and potions. eighteen hearts. and he uses them! he throws regen on spoke and he puts cobwebs beneath spoke so spoke can't kill himself by jumping off the mountain and he throws spoke two hearts and gapples and begs him to use them. i'm thinking about, after spoke comes back, zam spawntrapped. refusing to give up, hitting spoke over and over again with a stone axe that does nothing as spoke kills him over and over. i'm thinking about spoke, a bit earlier, saying: doesn't this sound familiar? and he's talking about zam's own suicide-by-execution after the fall of the princezam empire, and he's not wrong, but his words also echo into their future, into s4: vitalasy in the end base, putting subz in cobwebs, throwing him hearts and gapples, begging him not to kill himself; zam with a stone sword, hitting roshambo over and over. i'm thinking about spoke, even earlier than that: lifesteal works in cycles. because it does, doesn't it? it's all the same thing. they're not the same people but also they kind of are. thinking about zam yelling i ruined it! it's all my fault! if anyone should be banned, it should be me! because he's the same person as the one who banned himself earlier in s3, the same person who almost banned himself twice in s4. because even though spoke's his enemy spoke's also his friend and he doesn't want spoke to die. he brought stuff to kill spoke but he doesn't want to ban spoke, doesn't want spoke to kill himself. he's trying to save the server from getting banned (even his enemies) and spoke is trying to ban the server (even himself). in voiceover in his video zam says "i couldn't save spoke." he couldn't save spoke. he tried to save spoke. his enemy! his enemy who spawnkills him twice in the same video! zam couldn't save him. spoke asking why zam is still trying. but zam has to save things just like spoke has to destroy things. zam can't give up because he just-- can't, it's not his nature, across seasons and servers zam Does Not Give Up. even when it kills him. maybe especially when it kills him. i keep coming back to the cobwebs and the gapples and the regen pots. he brought them to kill spoke and he's trying to use them to save spoke's life. MAN. man! in conclusion. sorry for being stuck on a thing that happened in s3. as if it's my fault

We start the story with a book on a table. It has a star on it.
"Ahem. Today. I'm going to tell you the story of The Thousand-Year Door... again. Only this time, we're adding OCs and Metro City characters. An awfully long time ago... In a strange and far-off land, a big, bustling town thrived."
The book opens to a picture of an enchanted castle.
"It was a town where all people lived very happy lives. And it was said that the town was very prosperous. But one day... tragedy befell this blessed place. A great cataclysm struck the town and its people."
The page shows thunderbolts and waves destroying the town.
"Darkness filled the skies, and the earth roared and shook. It was as if the very world had come to a violent end. And in but a single night...
The town sank into the depths of the earth..."
The next page shows us a new town being built.
"Many moons rose and set... Stories of the town passed into the pages of fairy tales... And when the town's site no longer held relics of its past... People gathered at that spot and built a new town."
The next page was a picture of a treasure chest in front of an ancient door.
"But word soon spread among the people who moved in... That an ancient city lay deep underground... And that a magnificent treasure rested there. ...Indeed... This is the tale of the fabled treasure of Rogueport."
The final page shows a picture of town square of Rougeport and a familiar mayor and fearless reporter was down there.
"Yes, this is where it begins, in the sea town of Rogueport. The tale of the quest for the legendary treasure... And the Thousand-Year Door...
starts here."
The screen zooms in to a picture and added colour into it.

The Metro City mayor : Roxanne Ritchie (or Roxanne for short) has just entered the town square.
Roxanne: Finally! I have a minute without William watching over me! He's so paranoid! I come all the way here on holiday... only to be stuck with William! It's so stifling! Once in a while l'd like the chance to look around on my own and see what I want.
And as I wanted Megamind, Minion and Keiko to be here, Megamind would do something stupid that would definitely make everything even more interesting!!!
Roxanne blushed at that last comment.
Roxanne then frowns and looks around the place.
Roxanne: But.. now that I'm doing it, all I see is that this town has a very... umm.... distinct flavour...
???: 0h, Missy... Missy...
Roxanne gasped in shock and looked to her left.
Roxanne: Do you mean... me?!?
It was a old lady with a hood covering her head.
Hooded Woman: Yes, you, Missy! Won't you buy something? I have a wide assortment of knickknacks and doodads!
Roxanne: Oh! Well.... Umm...
Roxanne didn't know what to buy, until she found a small chest.
Roxanne: Well, that's a pretty box! What's inside it?
The hooded woman picked up the chest.
Hooded Woman: It is said that this box holds a map that shows where a legendary treasure sleeps... But the box has a magic lock on it that will only open for a pure and noble heart. As you can see... It won't so much as budge if one such as myself touches it...
She tried to open the lid, but made little effort.
Roxanne: Ooooh...
Hooded Woman: I know. If the box will open for you, Missy, then you may have whatever is inside. I am sure that whatever is in there would be of no use to someone like me. So, Missy... Take this box in your hands and see what happens...
Roxanne: Um... All right... What's the harm?
The hooded woman gave her the chest.
Roxanne: I'll try to open it.
She opens the chest and a bright light shines the entire screen.

Senado aprova projeto para cota de exibição de produções brasileiras em canais por assinatura.
A comissão de comunicação do Senado aprovou ontem (quarta feira 30), o projeto que visa atribuir uma cota mínima para exibição de conteúdos audiovisuais produzidos no país, e exibidos na televisão por assinatura.
O projeto determina também, que o governo federal amplie e crie novos mecanismos para o combate á pirataria. Chegou a ser discutido no projeto, a volta do sistema "cota de tela" sugerido por Randolfe Rodrigues, (Sem partido AP), que obrigaria as telas dos cinemas a ofertarem em cartaz por uma determinada sequência de dias, filmes e outras produções nacionais. Porém, essa ideia não foi amadurecida entre os parlamentares.
Confira o que disse o relator da proposta, o então senador Humberto Costa (PT-PE), "Os mecanismos em questão são vitais para a reconfiguração do setor audiovisual, especialmente por estabelecerem critérios essenciais para o acesso da população à produção nacional e para garantir espaços de exibição".
Vale lembrar que o projeto de estímulo audiovisual já existe desde 2011, e possuí o mesmo intuito de garantir o espaço e estímulo de apreciação aos conteúdos produzidos no Brasil, porém esse projeto se não houver a renovação, perderá a validade em 12 de setembro de 2023. A fiscalização do cumprimento dessa medida, ficará por conta da Agência Nacional do Cinema (Ancine).
Mas como vai funcionar?
A cota funciona da seguinte forma nos pacotes de TV paga:
A cada três canais estrangeiros, as operadoras de TV por assinatura deverão ofertar, ao menos, um nacional em todos os pacotes.
Ao atingir 12 canais nacionais, a inclusão passa a ser opcional.
operadoras que ofertam pacotes com até 31 canais poderão cumprir a reserva com a veiculação de três canais nacionais
entre os canais brasileiros ofertados, no mínimo, um terço deverá ser programadora brasileira independente
O instrumento também estabelece que os canais estrangeiros devem:
exibir semanalmente, no mínimo, 3 horas e 30 minutos de produções nacionais em horário nobre (entre 18h e 0h)
ao menos, 1 hora e 15 minutos devem ser de produtoras brasileiras independentes
E os canais nacionais:
devem veicular, ao menos, 12 horas diárias de conteúdo audiovisual brasileiro produzido por produtora brasileira independente
3 horas do conteúdo de produtora independente devem ser veiculadas em horário nobre (entre 18h e 0h)
A regra prevê ainda que não são consideradas na conta as exibições de produções:
religiosas
políticas
esportivas
de concursos
publicitárias, televendas e infomerciais
de jogos eletrônicos
jornalísticas
e de programas de auditório
Também são desconsiderados na análise de cumprimento da reserva nos pacotes os canais:
de distribuição obrigatória, como os canais governamentais, comunitários e universitários
de TV aberta com concessões públicas
internacionais que não sofreram adaptações para o português
eróticos
Com nove votos a favor e nenhum contra, o texto substitutivo ao Projeto de Lei 3.696/2023 segue agora para análise e apreciação na câmara de deputados.
