some doodles i shared on twitter a few days ago from my apollo and klavier meet as teens au :)

so kris starts taking both of them on investigations and oh boy are this guys disruptive. add to a crime scene two really loud guys who are huge law nerds, want to impress the other and think they are the shit. of course things get chaotic with them thinking they can solve the whole case just by looking at one piece of what they think is evidence and making wild theories based on it (only for kris, who also thinks he's the shit, to kindly but smugly tell them that said piece of evidence is irrelevant to the case)
these are three pieces of shit who think they are sooooo good and two of them are the walking definitions of noise so of course no one likes them. people start complaining about klavier and apollo being too loud, because they ARE and hey, this is a crime scene, someone died here and people are working. kristoph, who is constantly lecturing them on that very same thing, has none of that, so he's like 'oh are they? well perhaps you should die :) ' (in maybe more polite words ofc) as someone said on my twitter post, he's the only one who can be mean to apollo and klavier :)
regarding klapollo, i still don't know of they'd start dating right away or if they'll pine and be sooooo annoying about it. klavier writes like 20 songs about it and clay has to ban the combination of 'klavier' and 'i think i really like him' from his conversations with apollo.

I am not sure what rules you have for asks (so feel free to ignore) but just needed to let out the thoughts of Bakugo running around in my head!!
So my impression is that Bakugo would very much be a ride-or-die type of guy. Like the in it for the long game type dude who doesn’t date unless he’s sure he can see himself being with this person for the full ride.
Which makes me cackle to think about how this can tie with a rivals to lovers type trope where the person who stands out just initially annoys the hell out of him - can kick his ass in training, is always ready with a quick retort, doesn’t shy from his grumpiness or outbursts. Both just hating each other’s guts. But also because of that, you understand each other better than anyone else. You see when he’s at a low and he sees when something is bothering you. After seeing each other at your lowest but finding the beauty in that to stick with each other through thick and thin - ughh my heart!!
Then it hits Bakugo when he catches himself daydreaming and wondering what it would be like to have a life with you. And he’s like “oh shit” but little does he know you’re also thinking the same thing lol

can i be honest tho? stories that present two characters at odds w/ one another who are actually the only ones who understand each other.... make. me. BONKERSSSS CRAZY, truly one of my favorite tropes that has me crying and screaming on the floor every single time...
sooooo uh... YES!!! to this idea, and i hope u don't mind me continuing on a lil bit. just thinking about all the moments you have together that u and bakugo just absolutely refuse to talk about.... but mean so much.
the time you land on your wrist wrong after he knocked you out of the air during training, and he immediately stopped the fight to bandage you up. the time he gets off the phone after finding out he didn't make the top ten this year and deku did.... and you let him cry into your shoulder and keep him company and make him tea so he doesn’t have to be alone.
obvs, hardly anyone is aware of u two so no teasing takes place about your crushes... but it's sooooo, so obvious when either of u really think about it, esp when the thoughts u have become less about wanting to beat the other in a fight... and more domestic and sweet. bakugo having a rough night and just wanting to see your face, even if you snap at him (which you wouldn't)... or you just wishing he was there to tell you that you did a good job after patrol.
despite everything, all the fighting and mean words, it's like you're searching for each other every single second!!!
and maybe this is cliche... but i feel like neither of you would confess until... something bad happens. Like another hero is bullying you, or you get caught up with some villain... and bakugo is just going bananas because HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TEASE U. HE'S THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO FIGHT W/ YOU. BARK BARK WOOF WOOF he gets so defensive! and maybe you do too when the same thing happens to him.
And then you're both finally able to admit... yeah. this is love(and it will be forever).

FINALLY HAVE TIME TO READ AGAIN LETS FUCKING GO EPILOGUE!!
holy SHIT you weren’t kidding when you said this one was all about the vibes! Which is like my absolute FAVORITE thing about your work. legit the first paragraph already had me like 🫨 and I AM FUCKING LIVING for all the details that just add more to Adam. it is EVERYTHING!!
the whole description of mine #9 is amazing!! the sounds, the lighting, the weather, the state it’s in??? for real you just have this way with presenting a scene and setting that is 😩 SO GOOD.
His palms twinged and he gingerly tugged off his gloves. On his palms, up his fingers, and even across the backs of his hands lingered silvery bands of scar tissue from that foolish attempt to escape. He couldn't even remember the reason for the argument with his parents that had prompted him to run; he only remembered the pain in his hands and his father yanking him down to cover moments before a spotlight swept over where he had been. He remembered, too, his mother cleaning and wrapping his wounds with tears shining in her eyes.
GODDAMN first memory in and I’m already emotional. that memory is so fucking poignant

THIS PART ESPECIALLY
He turned from the main path onto the smaller one splitting between the faunus dorms. He paused at the second building on the left. Its back half had collapsed, but the doorway remained—though the door itself hung crooked on its hinges and had gotten stuck in the ground.
If he looked, and he could not bring himself to do so, he'd find a series of scratches in the metal frame, each one labeled with initials. His height, the heights of other children who had grown up and died here.
He closed his eyes. Beneath the wind, there were echoes: conversations too distant to remember more than the hum of voices, sharp peals of laughter, and encouragement for the weary.
When all of that resolved into a sharp shout to get back to work, Adam opened his eyes. His gaze dropped automatically to the scratches and for the first time he saw that three of the height markings formed a distinct symbol, disguised amid the rest.
JFC LEGIT one of my favorite moments in HP right there. oh my god it is constant gut punches reading this part, and the mix of describing his memories and the scenery is v well done!
The woman hadn't realized Adam was listening. She probably would have regretted putting the idea in his head if she had. Gods knew she would regret what he became.
GOD MY FUCKING CHEST HURTS
"I'd ask forgiveness," he told the roses, "but I think I've done the unforgiveable."
UGHH god that line but also THEY’RE ROSES. THE FLOWERS SHE GREW WERE FUCKING ROSES I-😭
These roses were only out of control because he, in his cowardice, had refused to return. The least he could do was bleed as he made his apology.
STOOOPPPPP IT GUY. HE IS SOOOOO IWBZSUWBVSUBWBWKB
He traced those names with his fingers. The stonemason he'd commissioned had looked at him with such pity when he made his request. The first names without last names, the blank spaces, the names he knew he hadn't recalled correctly, every single one a story cut short.
This was a flawed memorial. It was also the only one he had. His attempts to track down records, personnel lists, company documentation—all had ended in failure. No one had bothered keeping a record of the faunus who had lived and died here. Their ghosts were his and his alone.
GODDD. Like I just know he carried that the whole time. How he went searching for info. In every mission, every win or loss in the WF ughh 🤧
His sorrow and nostalgia here are so heart wrenching. Just how and what he lost is really put into detail and it fucking HURTS. and he still wants to do good, and he now fully believes he CAN now 😭😭
My guy I fuckin' salute you for making it all the way through to the end and giving me these top-tier reactions the whole time. The fact that the vibes in the epilogue came through crystal-clear to you puts a huge smile on my face.
It was very satisfying for me to have one chapter at the end of Hollow People to actually give Adam a backstory and - even if it's belated - kind of bring things full circle for him. His history's alluded to throughout the story, you get a pretty good idea of it from the way he acts and thinks, but he's actually kind of a black box...right up until the epilogue. And that's when you can look back and see his perspective so much more clearly (at least when he's not sleep deprived and trying to murder his ex).
It's an ending that I hope leaves you feeling as bittersweet as hopeful.

I CAN GET THROUGH THIS WEEK and then I can get through the two weeks after that and then it will be thanksgiving and then it’s basically just a downhill slide to christmas. and then I can maybe restart a low dose of my meds if I’ve made it to the second trimester 🫠 I am feeling superrrrr unmotivated about work stuff right now but I think it’s just a mix of being off my meds, still feeling kinda in limbo about pregnancy stuff and thus not feeling secure enough to plan for the future, and also being in kind of a lull of the semester where I don’t have a ton of stuff to look forward to coming up. gonna think through some things under the cut
THIS WEEK:
I have to go into campus for an hour tomorrow morning ughh so I honestly might as well just commit to spending most of the day on campus. I think I could get myself to feel less feet-dragging dread about the upcoming weeks if I just power through a bunch of stuff on my list. for instance I’m dreading this workshop thurs and that dread is coloring the whole week so why don’t I make myself stay on campus and power through the workshop materials tomorrow? also I want to give myself permission to keep it simple/casual—it’s a small group of students and I can make it feel interactive just by asking them questions and engaging them in some group strategizing about how to tackle the thing I’m training them to do. I think if I approach it less as “I must ensure they are entertained” and more as “I can make this a collaborative exercise where I also draw on their knowledge/expertise” it will feel naturally more engaging for them and lower stress for me. I have so many of these random one-off presentations and workshops coming up and I put soooo much pressure on myself to make it Entertainment!!!!! capital E for them, but I need to remind myself that like… that’s not my teaching philosophy in general and also things tend to go better when I have a looser, more flexible plan instead of something super scripted.
ok. so I will go to campus tomorrow and I will finish this workshop AND get a good solid draft of the annual report—I don’t necessarily need to write all the text yet but I want to do the annoying work of gathering all the info/data in one place and deciding how I’m going to organize it. if I can do both of these things I will feel significantly less trepidation about the week to come and also I’ll feel smug about being prepared in advance.
tuesday is also a lot of weird unstructured time which I am prone to frittering away & then feeling really bad about if I don’t plan very deliberately. so I think on tues I may make it my goal to spend at least one hour brainstorming for the other much longer/more involved workshop I have to run in a couple weeks. I don’t need to have everything totally prepped since it’s still so far out but I think I’d feel less of the free-floating nerves about it if I had a solid grasp on my learning goals for the workshop + a decent grasp on the activities I want them to do. oh and I can also spend tuesday finishing the annual report. then wednesday will be packed fortunately so I won’t have time to fret about the ultrasound thurs!! hopefully thurs will go well and I’ll be buoyed by good news + getting to hang out with my mom and that will get me through to the weekend.
OKAY. I will FACE MY DREAD!! if I just do all this prep work early I’ll feel sooooo much better and then it genuinely won’t matter if I waste a little time because I won’t be procrastinating on anything I’ll be basking in the glow of being ahead of schedule.

OKAYYYYY SO. Thank you M for bringing up Hobi’s vocals because I have not stopped thinking about them since….
I’m not joking when I say I (literally) went through and picked out the songs I remember having beautiful Hobi vocals in them that I obsessed over one time or another…!
So here’s a list I compiled of (some) of my favs… because if I’m honest, this list started to become discography length when I included his vocally rap verses sooooo these are (mostly) strictly vocal :)
(Not in any order):
- Equal Sign (how could I not include this… when he goes into his falsetto at the end.. *chefs kiss*)
- Future chorus (when I first listened through JITB this was my favorite song)
- BangBangCon “Mama” performance (specifically when the choir comes in… like okay Hobi go off with those riffs and runs 🏃♀️)
