FIVE MORE MINUTES, PLEASE.ᐟ

“rin, rin wake up.” you softly nudge him in his cheek. rin is a pretty heavy sleeper, so it was more difficult to wake him up when needed. he slightly grumbled at the sound of your voice, burying his face deeper into his pillow.

“rin.” you say a little louder, shaking his shoulders. finally, rin arouse from his slumber and narrowed his eyes towards you.

he let out a raspy ‘hmm?’ — bringing the blanket higher above his head.

“‘m hungry,” you confess — quickly trying to muffle a yawn. “could you make me something?”

you noticed the blanket covering his head was slowly falling down — letting rin’s top part of his head peek out. “what?”

“i said ‘m hungry,” you repeated yourself, rubbing your eyes to try and stay awake. “could you make me something to eat?” you repeated yourself, again — in a hushed tone.

rin visibly groaned, burying his face further into his pillow, again — ignoring you. you slightly frowned at his stubbornness, but realistically; no one wants to wake up in the middle of the night, just to make food.

you huffed. “pretty please?” your stomach growled lowly to prove your point.

sighing, rin threw you a soft glare and tossed the blanket over his body. you heard some shuffling — indicating that he was finding his slippers.

“fine. what do you want.” he grumbled. despite rin’s words, you knew he just wanted to sleep, but still cared for you deeply.

“anything is fine,” you gave a small smile. “thank you.”

it was quite dark, so you weren’t able to see how red with blush rin was.

itoshi rin x reader ⊹ romantic blurb + fluff

the moon graced over the lit bedroom window, it's light asceding over Rin's figure, his pale fingers caressing your cheeks, as a stern look gracing his features.

a stranger would never though that the usual serious Itoshi Rin, could ever get so lovely under the moonlight, a light pink could be seen in his cheeks as his eyes scanned your figure.

but they do say that love change people's behavior after all. Maybe love has truly blinded the usual stern Itoshi rin.

and yet, you've always wondered what in you made him so lovey dovey about you. His antics changing by the day, his words that once were harsh, being directed affectionally towards you, the usual nickname 'lukewarm' being gone when refering to you.

And as you looked at him, a warm smile creeped up in your lips, hands moving on its own to cup his cheeks, planting a chaste, sweet kiss on his lips.

his lips maybe were too soft for a man, not that it was a problem. His arms slowly moved to grasp your wrist, keeping you in place.

And as both of your lips parted, you could see the not so subtle smile that settled place on his lips, a genuine one. Seeing the stern man smile was such a rare occasion, but in these moments, he couldn't help himself.

He couldn't help himself wonder when he got so lucky by getting you, such a sweet person on his life. He was such a weak nan, not that he minded, not if that mean't being with you. Yeah, he didn't care if it was for you, and you only.

And you loved so much this moments, were only the moonlight could watch over you, seeing hos much you loved him. When there was no one to interrupt you both.

The Itoshi Brothers: And My Very Late Take On Them. (Part 1)

look, I've had very strong blue lock brainrot for a long time now. Rambled plenty to my dear partner-in-crime about it.

The reason this post exists is because I read almost all of the analysis posts by @/riririnnnn regarding the Itoshi brothers, and now I need to add my own two cents.

In particular, this was inspired by two posts: Rin and Sae by @/riririnnnn Rin's Ego and Aura by @/boinin

The core of this theory/analysis is: What exactly is the core of Rin's character, why it made Sae react the way he did, and why this entire mess exists in the first place.

If you think about it, from the very beginning Rin has had no basis of ambition or foundation for himself at all. His beginnings were really humble, wherein he just watched Sae play and thought his brother looked amazing as he did it. It was admiration, and the kind of younger sibling energy that makes you want to emulate your older sibling. It isn't just about playing alongside Sae, but it's about being like Sae.

It spurs him to read Sae better because he wants to learn. And eventually, it happens. He's reading a talented player, and he has the same(?) talent within him, so it's no surprise that he shocks just about everyone when he can keep up with Sae.

This? This is why Rin started playing football. To be like Sae, to play with Sae. Sae, sae, sae, sae- It was never of Rin's own volition. And it won't be, for a very long time.

He learns to emulate Sae, be the player Sae wanted on his team. That requires him to be precise, elegant and efficient. Sae hasn't changed fundamentally as a person even after Spain, the core remains the same. He passes to people worth passing to. And in their old team, nobody was worth passing to except Rin. So it worked out, that Rin kept associating his plays, his dreams, his ambitions, with Sae.

I think this is why he never had an "aura" of his own- or any sort of foundation of his own, at all.

And Sae knows this. That is exactly why this is one of the few times we see him genuinely curious (concerned?) about what Rin will do when Sae is gone. When it does have to require him thinking for himself, being his own person.

He's right to be worried.

Because, as expected, instead of Rin becoming his own person, he takes Sae's playstyle and makes it his own. He's very good at it, mind you. Nobody understood Sae quite like he did, all this time. But it's not Itoshi Rin anymore- it really is, just, Itoshi Sae's little brother.

And he doesn't realise it just yet- but that becomes a trend. From here on out, that is what people will see him as. After all, he's made his playstyle to be viewed as such. Those elegant kicks and precise analytics that Isagi observes the first few times he plays with Rin- they're not completely Rins' at all. They're adapted, taken from Sae. It's why the beginning of the U20 Arc feels like looking at a better, more midfielder focused Rin.

It's always been the other way round.

And so, when Sae comes back four years later, he is understandably disappointed. Nor has he ever been once to mince his words. Rin could never understand- of course he couldn't, he doesn't know what's wrong. He's not letting Sae explain. Sae isn't about to explain, either. They SUCK AT COMMUNICATING, THE PAIR OF IDIOTS.

Rin, if there's one thing you shouldn't have taken from Sae, it was his pathetic style of communication.

(Rin notices how tired and unwell Sae looks- that one's more explored in the post I linked as my inspo. Not getting into that- maybe some other day? If people care enough to listen.) Rin, above all, feels betrayal and shock at the change of Sae's ambition. If Sae changed his dream, and Rin has been emulating his older brother all this time, what happens now?! What is he supposed to do!? There's really no point, then, if he can't play with Sae. The way he's been envisioning for years now. It's brutal, and it's also pathetic because neither of them care to listen to the other speak.

Sae will never understand how Rin's ambitions and connections to other people for his own sense of self work. Rin will never understand what Sae went through and why he changed. He will never know why Sae was so upset with Rin constantly, constantly viewing himself from someone else's lens.

And Sae knows.

Oh, he knows.

But even after that- after ALL THAT, Rin will not think of himself as a separate entity. Nonono, now it's just- defeat Sae, instead of be with Sae. Sae, sae, sae, sae-

After Blue Lock, there's more labels that come in. He's Itoshi Sae's little brother, he's the Number 1 Striker in Blue Lock, he's Isagi's shadow, rival, partner, he's Shidou's foil, counter, the center piece for the Blue Lock 11 Team- (I remind you, again, of how his playstyle and moves are described. Beautiful. Elegant. Perfectly thought out. Now take those adjectives and use them for Sae. Don't they fit better?)

But he's never Rin. Heck, he's never ever ITOSHI Rin. Why would anyone see him as Rin alone? Part 2- Explores U20 and further.

- October 2017 -

- Rin meets Stray Kids -

Rin meeting Han was a weird for her. She was meeting Stray Kids for the first time, she didn't really know most of them, she knew only two and that was because they would visit often to bother Karma at the Blackpink dorms. That would be Seungmin and Jeongin, she would also join in the bugging. They started talking and hanging out after school, eating out and talking about their members. Hell, they were the first to know about Rin joining TXT as they were there for that phone call. They were close, so she wasn’t so nervous about meeting all of them. She already knew who they were both because of Karma and the other two talking about them.

She sighed closing her eyes jumping in place a little hyping herself up. She likes talking to people, she actually likes to put herself out there. But this is more of a I need to prove myself moment. In the industry she is more known for her looks. The whole group has great visuals, but they are all not known for that. Like Talia is known to be for an ace, can speak different languages, dance incredibly well, great voice, great producer, beautiful stage presence. Karma is known for her unique voice in both singing and rapping, acting and charisma. Nova is known for booming stage/dance presence, amazing choreography, and sexy rapping style. Rin to her is mostly known for her looks. Doesn’t mean that's why she was put in there for, they put her in there for her voice. She is what you would call a main vocalist, but she gets overshadowed by her other members a lot because of their talents as well.

In early articles and interviews when Blackpink first debuted people would always put them in categories, dancer, visual, leader, rapper or vocalist. All of them had visuals everyone would argue who would be the visual, but most decided to put them in what they stand out the most in. Talia vocalist, Karma rapper, Nova dancer, and that would leave a spot for Rin. Even though Rin is the main vocalist, didn’t mean she stood out much in stage. The other members stage presence and charisma kind of overshadowed Rin. Of course, Rin doesn’t blame the girls for that, she knew that it was gonna happen even before she debuted as she’s been criticized for not having enough charisma or energy. She didn’t know it would go as far as saying she was talentless. She knows she has a powerful voice that can capture people's attention. It's just her energy in the group doesn’t match their girl crush theme they had. As the other 3 have more mature features and Rin has more youthful features.

She was nervous that Stray Kids would think low of her because of the rumors of her being talentless. Of course, Seungmin and Jeongin reassured her saying they are not like that, but she's seen plenty of groups seeming sweet on camera but being absolutely terrible off camera. She paced a little before having the confidence to knock on the door. She was internally panicking how no one was opening the door feeling the secondhand embarrassment of having to knock on the twice even though it's been less than 5 seconds. While she was contemplating on knocking again the door open to a giggly Han.

Her eyes opened wide at the sudden door opening, but also at the cute smiley boy in front of her not noticing her in the moment just laughing in the most carefree way possible. He turned to see a surprised rosy wide-eyed girl.

“Ah Hello.” giving her a gentle smile gesturing for her to come in. She bowed a little mumbling a thank you too shy to make eye contact with him. She looked around see a bunch of boys having their attention on her. She smiled and bowed saying a small hello. They scrambled to get up and greet her surprised to see it was her instead of their female member Karma who left not too long ago to get snacks.

She giggled to how frantic they got and how they started cleaning up at the same time.

“Rinny why didn’t you text us when you got here.” Seungmin whined going up to her greeting her with a hug. She giggled and gave him a hug back.

“I honestly forgot to; I was too nervous to think about it.” She smiled sheepishly. Seungmin sighed and shook his head.

“I told you to relax.” Rin raised an eyebrow looking him up and down.

“You expect me to be calm??” She exclaimed looking at him like he’s crazy. He patted her head moved her in front of him with a closed eyed smile. Right then she knew...she was screwed. She inhaled sharply not expected to be pushed forwards and she sees 7 boys in front of her. Looking at her with excitement which she suddenly grows more nervous from.

“Everyone introduce yourselves, well except I.nnie.” Seungmin lead. A very dimpled man walked up to her with a cute smile.

“Hello, I’m Bang Chan, I’m from Australia and the leader of Stray Kids.” Rin connected the dots and gasped.

“You are one of the English speakers, right?” Rin excitedly pointed out in her British accent coming out. She doesn’t speak English much, even with Talia with her they usually speak in Korean, so speaking her native language is very exciting to her especially since she finds Australian's accents nice to listen too. So naturally it's rare for Rin speaks English, unless it's in songs. So many people don’t really know she can speak English fluently, people just think she was born in the UK and left when she was very young which is not true.

Chan blinked a little taken back from the British accent and language switch. But his expression quickly turned into a smile and nodded finding her child like excitement cute.

“Yeah, I grew up mostly in Australia, so I have a strong Australian accent, and from what I remember you are from the UK right, your accent is very strong.” Chan asked, Rin nodded happily. Next that came up a short boy around the same height as her only a little taller, he looked a little intimidating with a very sharp jaw.

“Hello, I’m Changbin nice to meet you.” he said politely, she blinked a couple times, he responded how she expected she quickly smiled and said hi back. Next came a very handsome boy, not that she thought the other weren’t, it's just.... he was glowing.

“Hello, my name is Hyunjin.” he smiled softly, his smile reminded her of a prince, she can see him winning fans hearts fast. She smiled back in the same manner. Next was a very familiar guy, she couldn’t point her finger on it, but his features were defined.

“Hello, my name is Minho.” He greeted normally, but he didn’t get a greeting back as Rin was looking back at him with a blank expression, Minho was confused looking back at the guys then back at her. Seungmin came up and waved a hand in front of her face, but she slapped it away.

“You...you used to be the backup dancer for BTS right?” she said randomly finally responded. She was gonna say that she saw him on the news once, but she knew better than saying that as she heard the boys like to tease and didn’t want to embarrass him. He blinked in surprise at her noticing where he used to work. He smiled embarrassed and nodded.

“Ah sorry for blurting that out, I just remembered your face since you’re very handsome.” She said confidently which he grew a little shy at the compliment and thanked her walking away. Seungmin sneaked up to her whispering.

“You don’t like him, do you?” She slapped him on the back of the head and looked at the next person ignoring Seungmin’s whining. He was a cute, freckled boy remembering she once saw him in the Blackpink dorm to either hangout with Talia or bother Karma with the other 2 which she never really interested her.

“Hello, I’m Felix.” He smiled cutely, she found him so cute. She smiled back.

“You are the one that comes to the Blackpink dorm with the other two from time to time to hang out with Talia or Karma right?” She asked to make sure she had the right boy. He smiled excitedly that Rin remembers him, he was worried that she didn’t remember him because they didn’t really introduce themselves whenever he goes over.

“Yes, that's me, ah I also speak English like Chan Hyung I’m from Australia.” He said remembering that she speaks English too, her eyes go wide in excitement.

“Ah so you are the other one that Talia told me about! She is very fond of you.” She said which his face lit up to.

“Noona talks about me?” He asked curiously, Rin nodded finding it cute that he is excited that Talia talks about him, no wonder she finds him adorable.

“Yup, I can tell you what she says about you later.” She whispers to him knowing well the others would want to know about it too and she can only handle one at a time. Felix smiled and nodded in agreement. Next came up was the boy who was at the door who charmed her, her eyes kinda widen when she sees him coming up, she took a mini deep breath and smiled sweetly.

“Hi, nice to meet you, my name is Han.” He smiled; she smiled back even wider finding his presence endearing. She said hi back, trying to hold herself back from rocking back and forth which is a habit when she is interested in someone. He left going to Minho to talk as he has done his greeting. Her eyes followed him a little catching herself a little trying to move on, but her eyes met with her worst enemy.

His mouth was wide open, astonished, looking at Han then back at her, looking at Han once more then back at her. She inhaled running up to him tackling him down to the ground covering his mouth shushing him which led to a big thud. This with Seungmin watching the entire interaction, he done connected the dots. Everyone else confused with the sudden violence and there Karma at the door watching everything go down within seconds now regretting everything.

a/n: thanks for requesting anon !! hopefully this is what u want , it’s kinda long -︵-

rin just shrugged when you told him you owned a pet. he saw it normal that his partner had a pet, what else could possibly be wrong? well, rin now despises your pet. whenever you let it out or call it over - that was when the action starts. the animal would start nuzzling you and take your attention away from him. and whenever rin tries pulling you closer to him, it would just hiss; like he was gonna harm you or something. and rin wasn’t dumb about it; every night, he would brainstorm on how to get rid of it - trying not to upset you in the process.

sae is similar to his younger brother, but instead - the pet despises him. sae simply ignore the creature with his sanity, he doesn’t give a damn about the pet; although he gets scolded by you, the animal can’t do anything about can it? he doesn’t feed, play, or even share you with the domestic animal — it gets on the pet’s nerves. and sae just ignores it. you almost walked into sae and your cat ‘wrestling’ each other once. he also sometimes grabs your pet and replaces it whenever it takes his spot — your lap.

isagi is probably the only one that gets along with your pet. it’s probably either he has second nature or the pet is just fond with him. you’ll sometimes find the two playing or napping together. you sometimes think that your cat might like isagi more than you. but isagi always says that your pet obviously likes you more; but how can you agree when your pet’s always following him when he goes home? even so, at least they get along… maybe they get along too well.

nagi. let’s say he doesn’t really give a shit about your pet. they already went off on a bad start the second they met. he pretty much despises the pet; like, how can he not when it’s hogging you all to itself. you’ll often catch nagi giving death glares at your pet whenever their in the same room. they’ll have starring contests once in while, and if you were being honest, ‘if looks could kill’ would be the best way to describe the two. and nagi isn’t the guy who would have dates out in the world, he’d obviously prefer to do house dates - but when it comes to your pet - he’s always up to go to his house or a public date. anywhere away from that ‘thing’.

reo honestly just reacted with a ‘cool’ when mentioning you had a pet. but it’s not very cool once he meets it. he would often tell you that your pet is literally the definition of satan. it wasn’t like your pet scratched the furniture, it was just that it took your attention away from him. sometimes, whenever you left to get something in another room - he would ‘gently’ grab the domestic animal by the throat and point his finger in its face, telling it threats to back away from you. but the animal was stubborn and ignored every word he punctuated. making him loathe the pet even more.

bachira is just like any other person. caring and loving for your pet, it’s like a lil family to him. but sometimes, if your pet is an introvert, things might get a little messy and the pet might be the one despising him. but it’s ok! if your pet is extrovert, they’d have a fantastic time. it’s like their best friends or even brothers. overall, bachira is amazing at pets ( just don’t get him a tortoise, it might bore him )

Itoshi Brothers: U20 Edition

Part 1 to this is here! I explain my basic idealogy for Rin here, so it might be better if you that one first.

The basic tldr is: Rin doesn't see himself as an individual at all, and he doesn't seem to realise it. It's why Sae is pissed and as rude as he is, and it's why Rin feels like he's restricted.

He can be as annoyed about the "Itoshi Sae's little brother" label as he wants, but he hasn't realised he fosters it unconsciously.

Once again, this part is very very nicely covered in @/riririnnnn's post. Please go read their theories linked in Part 1 too!! And the source of this creative bug was @/boinin's work for Rin's Aura-also linked in Part 1.

This is when the realisation finally happens. He realises that he's being shadowed by Isagi constantly, watched, judged, all on the basis of what people expect of him. Of what he's imposed on himself.

And then there's this infamous panel.

No, he's not alone. And it's entirely the reason he feels as restricted as he is. Not because he's not alone- but because the second he feels like he isn't, he starts adapting those labels into himself. He needs to be Itoshi Rin if he wants to develop an ego of his own.

Everyone clap really loudly, okay- really really loudly. This man spends his entire life studying and emulating Sae and it takes him an entire year to realise that he's been doing it and see the problem in it.

Dumbass. Why am I analysing him again?

And this is what triggers his flow state. One of the craziest ones we've seen- why? Not as a flow state separately, no, but because this is what Rin is at this point in time. He may evolve, become a different person at whatever time, but at this point he's keen on finding a sense of self that isn't in relation to anyone else. Note how after the flow state- and the brutal comment Sae makes- he goes right back to "Crushing Sae Itoshi, but destroy Isagi Yoichi first". But now he's still in flow- a true, completely disconnected version of himself that is only influenced by his own thought process.

And Sae, of course, knows. I mean- it makes sense right? He's the only one who's seen Rin before he started playing football, before he became Itoshi Sae's little brother. When he really was just, Itoshi Rin.

At this point, however, he's still focusing on completely destroying expectations. An antithesis of everything he used to be called, everything he used to be. So his aura shifts to directly contradicting Sae's- it is still not his own.

This is why the unusual water theme comes in so late. It is Rin's, of course it is, but until the NEL/end of U20 he never knew of himself.

You know what the most interesting part of this all is? AFTER ALL THIS. He's learned so much, he's grown so much. Don't get me wrong, this younger sibling is learning to be his own person.

But. Then you see him in the current NEL Arc.

He's still thinking in terms of other people. Of course, now he's learned to separate himself from the equation, thankfully. But he's still not playing for himself. He's not "Itoshi Sae's little brother" anymore, he's the one who will "surpass Itoshi Sae and destroy Isagi".

Nagi asks the very good question of, what comes after that? Rin is no longer someone's shadow, but still thinks in terms of surpassing them, much like Nagi used to think before the Manshine vs BM Match. And this absolute nutcase. Replies.

You know, he's a stupid guy, but atleast he's honest about his thoughts. Makes it easier for me to analyse him, unlike his emotionally constipated brother.

He's describing it as a baby just born- fitting, because he's trying to find his footing after being label after label in someone else's story. Not that he was doing it intentionally, but it had become subconscious. He hasn't thought about the future, at all, because he can barely understand what he's doing now.

"Number 1? I don't care about that. What I care about is destroying you, Isagi." Well, I've rambled long enough. You get my point now. He's learning!! Like a baby bird learning to fly, very slowly. Hence the newly present water aura. This will become so much more interesting when we learn what happened to Sae in Spain, and if Rin finds out? Well. Maybe we can finally get the resolution I need them to have.

Because, god forbid they have another miscommunication. I will actually lose my mind.

But also, I'm someone who understands Rin on a really deep level because I've had similar experiences with mirroring an older sibling because I had nobody else to turn to for a role model or admire. And I tend to think of myself in terms of other people, too. So this analysis was something that came really naturally to me. I hope it was worth your time.
