Oooo your twst AU sounds incredibly angsty. I don't mind some spoilers/details ^^ If 1-2 people from each dorm gets added to the loop, this means not everyone in twst is going to be in the loops right? Who is it from each dorm? And what are the circumstances that caused everyone to OB? If that's too many characters, how did Kalim end up overblotting and how did that, if it did, get resolved? This AU sounds interesting so you can share anything you like ^^
Spolers (and violence) below the cut:
Right off the bat, Yuu, Grim and Deuce are the firsts to experience a reset. Basically, the stuff in the Dwarf's Mine goes south quick and Deuce gets a pickaxe to the head only to get added to the Remembers The Loops Club and wake up in the coffin he should have been asleep in until the entrance cerimony.
Everyone is too in denial and confused to really do much about what happened, so everything in the second loop happens pretty much the same(though Deuce is a lot quieter) until Riddle OBs and decapitates Ace.
Ace gets added to the RTLC, and they all wake up back in the coffins. But instead of quietly disassociating like Deuce did, he PANICS, banging on the coffin and begging, screaming to be let out, that he's not dead, until Grim blasts it open. Deuce ends up calling out for Ace, so he gets freed too, and that's pretty much how they find out about the loops.
After that, in order, Ruggie is added after his entire right side gets desintegrated by Leona, Floyd is crushed under rubble after Azul brought the entire Monstro Lounge down on their heads, Kalim got straight up choked to death by Jamil's bare hands, Epel breathed in too much poison, Idia showed he would rather tear out his own intestines than ever hurt his brother, and Sebek burned to death before he could realize Malleus was not the one in control anymore.
I don't really have everyone's OBs figured out, but there is someone pulling the strings to make them happen regardless of how stable their mental states are. Blot is pretty effective at messing with your mind after all.
Idia OB'd before joining the RTLC, Yuu and Grim don't OB because plot reasons.
Ruggie was the first. Someone was messing with his food, he had not eaten in days, and Leona was making increasingly unreasonable demands. Not to mention the loops and the whole dying over and over thing. During a confrontation with the lion, the stress and hunger became too much.
Floyd was second. He was used to always be able to trust Jade and Azul, but nowadays they barely acted like themselves. He couldn't trust them, but he didn't want them to leave. But the dead couldn't hurt him, and the dead couldn't leave.
Then it was Epel. Vil had been getting more and more controlling and condescending with each reset, becoming downright abusive at some point, and Epel reached his limit. Though maybe he was right.
I don't really know how to articulate the process of how Sebek OB'd but imagine you spent your entire life worshipping some guy and then he goes on a murder spree on your school and burns you and your family alive. Yeah.
Ace and Deuce OB'd together, though Deuce is just along for the ride. Remember how in the Heartslabyul chapter, after Trey spilled Riddle's Tragic Backstory, Ace immediately started blaming him for never correcting Riddle's worldwiew? How his entire opinion on it was that, "okay, those are some horrible circumstances, but that doesn't excuse what you did or what you failed to do". Now put that thought process in a situation where every horrible thing done against you or your loved ones is being constantly erased, forgotten by everyone but the victims, where you have to forgive atrocities over and over again because nothing even happened yet. That boy is going feral.
Kalim was the last to OB. Jamil had started trying to kill him every few loops. Not always, not in any noticeable pattern, but often enough that the last shreds of his trust were burned into ash. He could not eat without fear it was poisoned. He started sleeping underneath the bed, arranging pillows to make it look like he was underneath the covers, scared of being stabbed in his sleep again. He would not look Jamil in the eye. Over time, he became numb. Ironically, his tipping point was not a gesture of hate, but one of care. He already accepted he was hated. He knew he could never trust him. Why was Jamil saying otherwise? Did he want him to drop his guard again? Friends??? They were friends?? Was this a game to him!?
Fine. Jamil wants him to go back to before? To that naive, trusting person he insisted in calling spoiled and unreasonable, to the lovesick boy who would willingly jump off a bridge if only it would make his beloved best friend happy?
Kalim will show him just how unreasonable he can be.
