I respect the arguments about whether joel’s actions were justified but sometimes we as a society just need to say yes he killed people and he looked hot doing it and leave it at that
This is how I managed to have both 03 and Bh Ed in the au— sort of.
I… don't like how this “quick” comic turned out. Anyhow, the dialogue:
Ed-Envy: “A few years ago I decidd it would be funny to play the role of the Fullmetal Pipsqueak on team Mustang. Things spiraled put of control from there…”
Ed-Elle: *Le smug* “Your problem now.”
Notes on the differences between the two:
The original Edward Elric eventually goes through a legal make change to get certain individuals to stop stocking him. His nicknames thereafter are Elle (short for his new first name), E.d. (his new initials and a way to keep using “Ed”), and Al (short for his middle name and a way to be closer to Alphonse now that they're separated).
Envy, meanwhile, starts using “Ed” and “Fullmetal” practically from the moment Roy and his crew moved to Eastern Command. Roy and Ed didn’t have a relationship prior to that point but quickly develop the fun, funny, combative one seen in Bh. While Envy though it was funny for the first while, he eventually is a little bothered by just how easy it was for the transition between the original and himself.
Envy can’t do alchemy, but he's still the son of Von Hohenheim of Light and, thus, has enough passing knowledge of alchemy to practically be a theoretical or academic alchemist.
Envy also never goes on the missions Roy passes on to him, instead sending those to Elle because Envy's just a hobbiest messing around. When Elle sends back his summaries of what all's happened so that Envy can extrapolate a report, things get silly real quick.
As time goes on, Elle goes through puberty and just generally changes his appearance because that's what people do, and Envy changes his own appearance with careful differences. By the time anyone realizes they're not the same people, Elle's a grungy cryptid with some feminine leanings whereas Envy's practically a jock.
Today's (audio) episode of Unsolved Mysteries is a case seared into my brain. I knew what it was immediately.
I cannot believe this country doesn't care about this murder. It's tragic, but more than that, it's fascinating, and what the movies we love here are built around. I would think it was more widely known if only for that reason. Not that I want it sensationalized, but I would think that would pique national interest in the case.

In 2004, Kanika left the military and returned home to Prince George's County, Maryland. Not long after moving back home, she landed a contract position with the John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland. Since these labs work on homeland security projects, the exact nature of their work is unknown.

Who would kill a defenseless young Army soldier just back from a tour of duty in Korea? It's a question investigators and Kanika's family ask every day as the murder remains a giant mystery here in Prince George's County, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C.
Powell completed her service and returned to the states, landing a job at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory working as a top-secret-clearance security contractor.
In the summer of 2008, some trouble arrives. Clearly there were a lot of secrets. Powell's family soon learned she was encountering strange, unexplained door-knocks.
