God the romance part really isn’t doing much for me in sdv, so far I haven’t even gotten unique dialogue that implies they acknowledge we’re dating ?? outside of originally giving the bouquets

I kinda wanna go back to playing Longstory, but I don’t know if it’ll be as much fun now, the first time I played it was as a really closeted 14 year old when it first came out and only had one chapter, I’m worried it won’t live up to my nostalgia of it

I wish the switch had way more dating game options 😭

#that game was so important to me #not only was I playing a bi protagonist but there was also a character who full on didn’t have a gender #turkeyhawk my beloved #but I had no one to talk to about it #and I was so anxious about having it on my iPod and getting outed by my family if they saw it #every time I played it it was late at night so no one could catch me #it’d be nice to play it without the fear #but idk if I’d want to play that right now #trying to scratch a specific romance itch #gaming #video games #mentioned a couple of fandoms but gonna tag this as #no fandom

omg welcome 2 choices hell :3c but I FEEL U and u have come to simultaneously the best and worst person for recs AND THIS IS GONNA GET... LENGTHY MAYBE (not all of these are freemium but i’m just,, reccing favs)

i’m by law required to plug PB’s og games high school story and hollywood U just cuz there’s a lot of characters/references to the original games in the HSS book and RCD so!!! they’re definitely my first loves but i understand it’s not every1′s cup of tea cuz it’s more simulation than narrative

lifeline: ok if i have to think about games that have like... left a significant impact on me as a person... lifeline. the writing in lifeline is so gripping and absolutely real and it really feels like these chars are ur friends

most of the series u do have to buy them (but they’re TOTALLY worth it) but i know the lifeline library recently came out but i think they just have whiteout and silent night to read!! but silent night is a sequel to lifeline 1 so rly das up to u BUT WHITEOUT IS RLY GOOD

lovestruck: I’M FAIRLY NEW TO LOVESTRUCK but i’m not new to voltage games but lovestruck is more romance narrative otome...! there’s SO many different characters to choose from and i know lots of ppl in csyp fandom play it! && villainous nights just dropped their pilot seasons today so!!!! ya

if i have to recommend other voltage games i love metro pd: close to you and hold it close to my heart and i love tennoji yutaka thank u... also liar! is really fun LMAO

long story: i’m not done w long story but it’s so fun and wonderfully written and there’s a lot of rly good reviews!! u can play w/ any pronouns and all the friends/LIs are really cute and turkeyhawk is... honestly so fantastic 10/10 do recommend turkeyhawk (i can’t remember much abt the mobile but i think it’s like other voltage otome where u have to buy after ch 1 but i bought it on steam!! s o)

monument valley: monument valley is one of the most beautiful games i have ever played in my life. it’s puzzle based but the story is beautiful and so is the music and art and idk man every time i think about monument valley i get super emotional (and ya like lifeline u do have to buy i think it’s definitely worth the money)

choice of games: i love... choice of games HAHA but my recs go as far as psy high, heroes rise, affairs of the court, choice of the deathless, and wayhaven chronicles (which hasn’t been released yet but u can play a demo here!! it’s so GOOD,) but choice of games is rly interesting and there’s a lot u can download for free in the app store ;o;

the arcana: i had to stop playing cuz lack of phone space but the arcana is a really beautiful game and has lovely writing and love interests and u can also play w/ any pronouns so YA also i love portia that’s all i have 2 add

IF U WANNA BE ACTIVE: zombies, run! ruined my life for a good while cuz it simulates being chased by zombies while u jog & honestly the story’s good but it’s been a while since i’ve played so idk anymore,,, omg

BUT UHHH omg i can’t think of anything else... besides these i love love live: school idol festival and ensemble stars but they’re... very different and enstars is only available on jpn and i wanted to keep u in narrative/otome gaming haha

I got a bit over 20 minutes in the game then promised to hang out with Nora during the weekend without realizing it would be during the thing I promised Turkeyhawk I would attend and I had to delete the save file and redo it so I didn’t have to bail on one of them 😭
