Let me share a memory regarding a book series that has a special place in my heart, not for being exceptionally good (although the first four books are good), but because I've read it at the right time.

When I was 13 years old I've read and loved the first book of the series Tunnels, but only the first two books were released in my language and little me was forced to read the others in English. It took me months and a lot of effort to finish them, and I didn't fully grasp the story the first time I've read them. But I didn't give up and as the stubborn and nerdy teen I was I kept reading them again until I expanded my vocabulary.

It's partly thanks to this series if later in life I managed to study abroad, get friends from all around the world, get a foreign boyfriend and later get a foreign ex boyfriend, in general it helped me to get out of my comfort zone. It's partially thanks to these books if now I can interact with you all by writing in a semi-decent English.

The last two books of the series aren't good, I won't lie, but the first four books - especially the very first one - still bring up some very sweet memories, and at the time it was one of the best novels for teens I've read.

It's far from perfect, but it was the right read at the right time, and for this reason it will always have a special place in my heart.

luke castellan x daughter of hephaestus!reader who, similarly to her father, has absolutely zero luck in the love department

i think what makes it a fun concept is if we take into consideration that luke is obviously very attractive and probably, like, THE camp crush paired with that dynamic for reader
