For the Zelda ask game, what region would you live in and what's your favorite headcannon? Give me details (p.s. love all of your Sooga/Impa and dry Ganondorf comics)
Thank you. 💫
I'd love to live in Akkala, by the sea! It's the most beautiful spot imo.
Lurelin village and its surroundings, with all the ancient ruins, is cool as well but I already live in a humid place and I hate it. :v
So I had to think a lot about my personal headcanons because either they were debunked by TotK or they are famous ones. But let's try it:
- The Sand Goddess was a sort of demigod/first Gerudo. She might be the eighth heroine and she was wiped out and replaced by Hylia once the Gerudo region was conquered in Twilight Princess.
- Bongo Bongo was once a scientist and used some of the prisoners of the shadow temple for their experiments
- Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom is chosen by the Goddess just like in other games, and he was chosen to balance powers, in a "Buddhist" way, if you know what I mean. A power of nature just like Ganon in Botw. Alternatively, just like in Dark Souls after the Age of Light there must be an Age of Darkness to avoid stagnation, a similar concept can be applied to Hyrule and it was his turn to rule, but this didn't happen and Hyrule evolved little to nothing from the ancient era.
I think that's all! Thanks for asking. :3

Tell me this: 💕 Who’s your biggest Zelda crush(es)?
💘 Favorite Zelda ship(s)?
And of course, for you 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
When I was a child, OoT Adult Link was such a big crush. Growing up, Ganondorf for sure. ✨ And OoT Impa, Sheik, Nabooru... Most of my crushes are from Ocarina. 🥹 But there's Sooga and Urboss- pardon, Ubosa as well.
Fav ships: Sooga/Impa, Nabooru/(OoT) Impa, and... That's it, I believe? I enjoy reading and seeing artworks of other ships though, like some ZelGan and WW Ganondorf/King. It all depends on the mood the writer and artist set for me rather than the ship itself.
AAAH THANKS FOR THE HEARTS

I've read a YA retelling of the myth of Ariadne to relax today but the author described several times the beaches of Crete to be black, so I raised my Mediterranean eyebrow because I know Crete isn't a volcanic island like Santorini or Stromboli, and black beaches are typical of volcanic zones. I checked and yeah Crete has very bright, white beaches.
This sort of writing sloppiness annoys me, even in light novels. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Are we getting more Soompa content soon? 👀
Mmmh not anytime soon because, regarding Legend of Zelda, I'm in my Ganondorf phase again, plus the Elden Ring DLC coming soon, plus I'm trying to draw more personal and original art. But if you want a specific drawing of Soompa you can always commission me!

We have to bribe the creators of Zelda and make them have Impa and Sooga be canon. I just came across your comic and I’m MY EMOTIONS are all over the place.
I'm so happy people still find and read and like my comic two years later since I posted it. ✨
Anyway we deserved old Impa and old Sooga to be a couple in Totk.

I forgot: he tells the gods to fuck off (in my mind he swears all the time).
I finished reading the Silmarillion and Fëanor is my beloved, he's so angry and makes so many shitty decisions based on anger, so relatable.

A Record of the Calamity
This collection of meta essays explores the worldbuilding and cultural background of Hyrule and its inhabitants during the timeline of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Ninja Lore in Breath of the Wild On the historical precedents of the Sheikah, the origins of the names "Yiga" and "Kohga," and how the culture of historical ninja is referenced in the story and setting of Breath of the Wild.
Governance in Hyrule On the nature and questionable necessity of the Hyrulean monarchy in comparison with other systems of governance in Hyrule.
Zelda and the Calamity On how Zelda's repressed emotions may have surfaced in a tragic explosion of chaotic power.
Ganondorf as an Agent of Change On Ganondorf’s role as the villain of a heroic fantasy, the existential challenge he poses to Hyrule, and the necessity of disruption to an otherwise closed system.
Ganondorf’s Design in Tears of the Kingdom On the Japanese cultural references incorporated into Ganondorf’s visual design.
The Two Kings in Tears of the Kingdom On the fantasies of Japanese cultural identity represented Rauru and Ganondorf, and why the power structures associated with the two kings are disavowed by Zelda at the end of the game.

I think I should give a few examples. Tw: mention of violence, blood and all the band.
Last year I've read three books from three authors that experienced violence in person. The authors were: Bulgakov (he was in Kiev during the Civil War of 1918), Daniel Defoe (he lived through the Great Plague of London), and Helga Schneider (she spent her early childhood in Berlin during the siege of 1945).
Those authors wrote about their experiences in their books, and when describing gruesome scenes, the graphic part was rather straightforward. There were some very gruesome descriptions in their works, but they mostly focused on the dehumanisation of humans and the corpses, and the desperate search of dignity in a violent death.
On the other side I've read authors that never went through similar experiences describing in details blood everywhere, guts, brain, and all the organs all around. But it's just scenery, the corpse becomes a "decorative" puppet for a bloody scene. It's just edgy physical description.
I had this thought other times, but it came to me again as I'm reading the Silmarillion by Tolkien (and we know what he went through). Compared to the authors I mentioned earlier, his works are light-hearted - not for this less important. And yet I'm the Silmarillion, even the most noble, the most beautiful of the characters can meet a very ignoble death in which the body is desecrated or lost (like Thingol). His work Is devoid of any detailed violence, but the loss of dignity of the corpse is there.
I'm sure my thoughts are incoherent and lack depth, but I hope I explained them well enough.
I've read many books of any kind, and in general (but not always) there's a big difference in how writers describe a gruesome scene depending on whether they lived through a real traumatic gruesome experience or not.
Most writers who didn't experience first hand violence in their life generally describe gruesome scenes very graphically, with an over abundance of details on the physical aspect.
On the other hand, writers who experienced or witnessed violence describe emotions first and the consequences after. Maybe they add graphic details but they're always accompanied by emotions. There's guilt, or impotence, or even the most absurd comparison because in that moment the mind wanders around.
Please remember this is not a hard rule, and that doesn't mean that writers who have little to no experience with violence in real life (which I wish you all by the way!) can't write some good violent scenes.
After all, a good writer is a good observer of the world.
