Okay, folks, been testing this “can’t edit a blog unless you follow 5 tags and 3 blogs” thing, and I have some data to report:
1. If you do it on desktop (Firefox on a Mac for me), you can skip the process by clicking on the Tumblr icon in the corner. This takes you to your dash and you’re all set to curate your experience and make sure you look human to other blogs!
2. Trickier on mobile (iOS); heard that there was a skip button but I never saw it.
Wouldn’t let me tap or interact with anything until I did this. HOWEVER!! There is still a workaround! I discovered it on accident and then made a third fake account just to verify!
3. I made my third fake blog. Once I had the password set and the blog name picked, I closed out of the tumblr app, then reopened it. It opened right onto my dash! Success!
Now: I absolutely believe there are new users who also either don’t see a skip button or are befuddled at this process, because it isn’t very intuitive, I don’t think, so it’s possible there are new genuine followers getting blocked because they’re inexperienced and look like bots.
However. I think there are also just a bunch of bots. Because you don’t need a real email address to set up an account.
If anyone smarter than me could screen grab where a skip button is during this process, I’m intensely curious about where it is and why I’m missing it (the answer is I’m oblivious and often miss things right in front of my nose).

Okay, funky moment here, but…
@karkalicious769 , I think I found the real Red Sleep.
And for the rest of y’all, let’s talk about alien plants that exist on Earth too, woop-!
So, just as a random thought inspired by rock-eating organisms, which got me thinking of plants and animals eating crystals, Petrosapiens included, I thought ‘are there any plants that explicitly eat crystals’?
Oh bejesus do I have an answer for you!
The Velloziaceae family is a family of plants that are/include organisms that eat quartzite rocks and phosphorus, and have been explicitly observed to live and eat directly on quartz crystals. And take a little guess at what primary element quartz crystals are made from.
That’s right lads, it’s silicon! Silicon dioxide, or silica, are is the primary make up of quartz crystals, and with a crystalline, silicon based species like a Petrosapien, the Velloziaceae family are free to chow down.
But how, you ask, does the Velloziaceae family eat its food. Why, but secreting certain chemicals that dissolve the rock. Now why does that sound familiar?
Because hot damn does Red Sleep love to dissolve Petrosapiens, hoo boy!
You don’t have to understand (lord knows i don’t) but the Velloziaceae family produces carboxylates, or carboxylic acid if we wanna cut to the chase. It’s made from carbon, oxygen and a hydroxyl group, the latter in turn from hydrogen and more oxygen.
Now why am I spouting chemical names that you’re probably and most likely just learning about now? Well, keep it in mind as I tell you the chemical reaction of carboxylic acid against silicon dioxide.
Something something link to correct me if I’m wrong and missing something, yada yada amide bonds I am aware I’m skipping over, and one of the final product/s of this reaction is silanol!
Bringing back hydroxyl, aside from the obvious relation that and silanol has, silanol is also found in all alcohols.
Alcohol, you say?
Maybe that’s why Petrosapiens feel neutral to positive when Red Sleep decides to snack on them.
Of course, all this is me just finding and completely misunderstanding what the heckery is going on in science sources, because fact checking after a post is made is something I don’t do.
Eh whatever, tumblr is a place for net zero information at times, so being wrong isn’t all that bad.

just in case anyone who liked my occasional reblogs / is or was a friend on here is jumping ship... there i am! there are less "occasional" (more frequent) meme retweets on tweeter and... occasional art on deviantart.
it was fun while it lasted bois, i don't think im getting taken down or anything and im not leaving the site (since i barely use it in the first place) but i feel like my dash will be... more empty from now on

is it weird that like. with stim accounts im like “aw yeah!!” but when an account says asmr i open it up prepared for some heckery. and then asmr youtube channels with people eating food really loudly or people eating clay or chalk just adhahagsfshgsj its hilarious i feel like that makes me really mean!!! but theres definitely a difference between stim and asmr accounts lol.
Oh boy, I feel like I could do an entire thesis on stuff like this?? Like, how two related things can evolve to be so different depending on what internet medium they’re posted on lol
For asmr stuff, there’s definitely a difference since stim accounts on tumblr usually focus on other forms of stimming besides just asmr/sounds, but asmr accounts on youtube only focus solely on asmr and nothing else (which a lot of people in the mainstream don’t realize is a form of stimming! Most people in the mainstream don’t know what stimming is to begin with either, but that’s an entirely different story for another day lol)
On youtube there’s more of a focus on getting views on your videos, which fuels the need to get more creative and have more variety in your videos, so in the case of asmr youtubers that means going from regular “gentle brush sounds for 10 minutes” videos that you’d be just as likely to find here on tumblr, to like...... “Ancient Elvish AU Naruto ASMR roleplay: Såsükæ takes you shopping and then condescendingly explains the pythagorean theorem” types of videos lmao
I’m not saying that asmr youtubers are only in it for the views/money!! But it’s definitely a factor in some cases haha

So I dreamt me, a few of my Tumblr friends, my bestie irl and the GOT7 boys booked 2 rooms at this really nice hotel right, boys in one room, girls in the other, and there was a DJ set up in the middle of the buildings because apparently there was some party happening at said hotel....
