The Sims 3: Strangetown | Sims 2 to 3 Conversion
It's finally done: my very own version of Strangetown from the Sims 2! Including all your favourite sims like Olive Specter, the Curious brothers and PollinationTech#9. Enjoy!

I'm super excited to be finally able to share this project after years of working on this world. Initially, this was meant to be a strict Sims 2 conversion, but as time went on I decided I needed more and more lots... until it had (literally) become something way bigger. This is still a work in progress, though, so if you encounter any bugs or problems please reach out to me and tell me about them!
Currently known issues:
"Three is a crowd for romance..." pops up when you load the world for the first time
Pascal Curious' body becoming invisible when pregnancy shows
DOWNLOAD:
The zip-file includes the world and a merged package file including a few decorative cc object that'll improve the world's aesthetics. Additionally you might want to download Misty's University Life Rabbithole Rugs to be able to use the custom uni in this world. If you want to use them, you'll also need to install Nraas Careers.

Checkin out some recently released custom worlds. Since I’m from Arizona originally I kind of have a softspot for desert projects. This one by @nhperformancesaddlery is super nice. Especially if you are into like homesteading/equestrian stuff. If Izan was remotely into that I’d be all over this tbh but he’s a musician so probably gonna wanna put him in a city if decide to go beyond just dicking around with him.

The limited rock variety in Build Mode hinders our artistic expression in The Sims 3. That's about to change, with @simaddix's rock retexturing, offering 75 new options! These textures can be combined with the original sets, expanding the game's rock catalog!
The rocks above were cloned from the sets linked below, and had their textures reworked to match the classic rocks from The Sims 3:
-Formation Rocks
-Forest Rocks
-Mossy Rocks
-Landscape Stones
-Landscape Rocks
This set was authorized by @simaddix, who by the way takes all the credit for the hard work that went into developing each of these rocks. My role here was to create an alternative version to match the classic rocks textures already available in the build mode of The Sims 3. Thank you Simaddix for the permission, and for shared your amazing work with all us!! <3

Download - Plants
Round 3! One of my personal favorites - (it should be, considering it took me 12 times to get the thing right lol) Chamomile! These tiny white flowers are packed full of medicinal uses and they even make a decent cup of tea (can you tell I play a medieval game, yet? lol), not to mention they're super pretty!
[Notes will be copied to further posts, considering they're all the same facts]
Notes:
These are giant fields. They are meant to fill empty space in CAW/Edit town - you can use them on lots, but as stated they are quite large so if you decide to use them as lot decoration hold onto your hat because they're gonna take up a chunk of ground.
I will be making smaller/single plants to match the fields, but it takes time so please be patient.
These are speedtree plants, so they'll "follow you" when you move around. However consider that any recolors of these plants will become a default replacement unless you make the package unique. So if you would like to recolor them to suit your current world, feel free to, but please make it it's own package so they don't override the original.
These are fairly large but have low polycount - coming in at 330 polys each. That means you can have several of these in one area without weighing down your game too much. That's a win for everyone.

Sunset Valley - Fixed and Renovated. World Download
Sunset Valley Renewal
What is this?
-Sunset Valley map edited in CAW to group all of the new community lots from all the expansion into their own neighborhood. Original road layout is still in place just a few extra lots added.
-Relocated Most of the expansion community Lots that EA took absolutely no effort to place within the world. Almost all of the EA Expansion lots were facing the wrong direction, incorrect lot sizes etc. Now they are all in one location with the exception of the Equestrian lot as its requires a large lot so that lot has been left in its original location. ( I might update this in the future by adding a new lot within CAW)
-Multiple Residential lots have been relocated in order to accommodate the new Community lots but all of the original EA lots/families are still within the world.
-Fixed many of the ugly roof lines of the original EA builds.
-Every House has been "toned down" with more neutral colors inside. No more mustard and olive green bathrooms and kitchens!
-Multiple houses have been redesigned to a more functional floor plan. For Example: Plus Plus no longer has that ugly tree house looking addition to the back of the house. It now resembles a colonial style two story home.
-Most homes have had their exterior colors either changed or toned down from their Crayola box colors.
I have to say this is to my tastes. I admit I am a fan of blues and grays so there might be a bit of a common theme with some lots. I did go out of my comfort zone quite a bit however and used some color. Overall this is a drastic improvement over the vanilla game while trying to keep the same feel of the original Sunset Valley.
** I have all of the expansion packs and some stuff packs installed. I also own some store content but I don't think any of it was used. This isn’t necessary to use this world. If you start the game and see some missing windows etc that just means you don't have that expansion/pack. You can just replace whats missing. The game world will still work fine. **

This is an Example of how EA added Expansion pack lots into the game. The building is facing the wrong direction and placed in an odd location on the map.
New Commercial District with most of the Expansion pack lots. Fire Station, Clubs, Laundromat, Consignment Store etc.

After... Removed that weird diagonal bit, rotated the lot cleaned up the roof lines.

Installation:
Please read through these instructions carefully. Most people should understand how to do this but I prefer not having to answer questions on what should be very simple instructions.
1. Unzip the file to a separate folder. You should see a file called Sunset Valley Renewal.Sims3Pack (World File) and a folder called Sunset Valley Renewal.sims3 (Game Save)
2. Copy the Sunset Valley Renewal.Sims3Pack to you Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads. In Windows 10/11 you can just open up File Explorer and in the left bar you will see "Documents" otherwise it will be copied to X:\Users\(Your Windows Login Name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads. Keep the Sims 3 Folder open as you will need this again in a few steps.
3. Open The sims 3 launcher (S3Launcher.exe). Click on Downloads. If you copied the world file to the correct location you should see Sunset Valley Renewal there. Click on the check box to the left of the name and click install. A box will pop up. Wait for it to finish installing. Close the box and then close the launcher.
4. Next you will need to install my save game in order to have the world be populated. Otherwise if you start a new game the world will be empty. All of the lots will be there but there will be no sims in any of the houses.
5. Copy the folder Sunset Valley Renewal.sims3 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves. Be sure to copy the entire folder over not just the files inside of the folder.
6. Now you're done! If you copied the save game correctly when you start the game you should see a new save called Sunset Valley Renewal. Load this up and you're good to go. Do not start a New Game with the world or the world will be unpopulated! Of course you can always play with the world unpopulated and populate it with your own sims but if you want it populated use the save.
7. Another note... If you want to be able to start a new game in this world in the future after loading into the world Save As and rename it to whatever you want that way in the future you will be able to use my save to start fresh in Sunset Valley again.

The crappy pics from my laptop will never do me any justice BUUTTTT I have finally made a functioning tiny "city." For yeaarrs I have been trying to figure out how to do this stylistically and functionally because sims suburbs are not my thing and Bridgeport is so stinking big. Currently a WIP almost done. If anyone is interested I can post interiors.

Would anyone know of some custom worlds/a custom world that doesn’t use Supernatural and Island Paradise...or stuff packs for that matter (stuff packs don’t matter to much since there aren’t lots.)
I have almost all the expansion packs expect those two and my main pain seems to be of finding one without IP lots! Any help is greatly appreciated <3. (Large~Medium being the world size I’m looking for without being too crowded.)

I may or may not be working on yet another world project...
This one is a small town nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The town had been dying for decades after the mine closed and the railroad stopped running through, but in recent years, younger homesteaders and small-scale farmers have been buying the inexpensive land and moving in, leading to a revitalization of the town.

Download - Flower fields!
Hey guys! I'll be rolling out individual plant files over the next little while, so keep an eye out for more! Here's the first one we have to display, Sunflower fields!
These are speedtree plants, so they'll "follow you" when you move around in game. I added a stronger wind effect so they should sway a little bit more than typical flowers, but not quite as much as my crop fields.
These are meant to fill empty space in CAW/Edit world, you CAN use them on lots but they are quite large so you might want a bigger lot if you're going to use them there.
The best part of these bad boys (at least for me) is that they're super low poly so you can have a ton of them without adding much weight to your game. These come in at 330 polys each; for reference the swamp rushes from EA are over 10K - which seems a bit heavy for some swaying grass chunks, in my opinion.

Hi!
I’ve just started a new work this week and haven’t got so much time to build in my ts3-Stockholm-world. But, tonight I had some time to sit down and mapping out some. I just wanted to say hi and let you see some sketches, it’s probably not the trees or terrainpaint I will end up with but I like to share the process! I also want to say that I do the lots in edit town>save them in the library>remove from the world in order to make CAW run faster🤗 so in some pictures in the future (and now) the process may seem smaller than it actually is. CAW-cc from the talented @nilxis
Also, a bird whispered in my ear that @omedapixel will create some cc only made for this town... 😏🤫
