Oh, it is most definitely going to blow up in their faces. The conservative base has been conditioned for decades to respond negatively to social change and scientific progress, so the baiting with the stand against “wokeness” will work in the short term (i.e., within a GOP primary), but it won’t in the long term (i.e., in the general election and in the foreseeable future.)
Why is that? The GOP is literally dying off. As Boomers age and pass on, they are not being replaced by younger folk. By staking a hard line in favor of white supremacy, christian nationalism, culture war, etc., the GOP is putting itself out of business and will soon be an annoyance and much less of a real electoral threat on the national stage.
Yes, the GOP will continue to have a stranglehold on power in some states but will see their representation decline in Congress. It will soon become almost impossible for a Republican to be elected as POTUS as the numbers just won’t be there. I think that this is a big reason why the MAGAts flipped out so much after losing the 2020 election by a huge margin. They see the writing on the wall and know their days in power are numbered.
This may also explain why the GOP has gone nuclear over LGBT+ rights, especially the civil and human rights of transfolk. They know that they won’t have the ability to persecute us for much longer, at least not to the degree they can now. This is also why we see such an uptick in hate crimes, especially against the trans community.
In the meantime, we must remain strong and push back against their attempts to enshrine their bigotry and privilege for their religion into law. But keep in mind their dwindling numbers and shrinking power. They are still a dangerous threat to our collective civil and human rights, but they won’t continue to be for long. Their time as a national party is almost up.

Legit considering getting some kind of personal protection. Knuckle dusters, stab-proof vest. Don't care how illegal it is.
The cunt prime minister just fully admitted how transphobic the government is and it's just giving terf fucks the excuse they need to hurt us.
I'm scared and angry. From saying nonbinary identities don't exist, thus get no rights, freezing the waiting list for any kind of gender treatment to this. I'm starting to think peaceful protests and writing to my MP are no longer on the table.

Tell me that you know nothing about American history, without telling me you know nothing about American history.
To compare the horror of Jim Crow laws to transgenderism is to diminish what life under apartheid was like for African-Americans and completely dismiss the serious violations of civil and human rights carried out by bitter conservatives who were smarting after having their collective asses kicked by the Union army and their economy based on chattel slavery demolished forever.
It also completely mischaracterizes and demonizes the experiences and existence of transfolk. One has nothing whatsoever to do with the other. This is a true “apples to armadillos” comparison.
It is at these moments we need to pause and consider seriously the minuscule number of transfolk in our population. To hear conservatives talk about it, they must believe that there are thousands of times more transfolk than there possibly could be.
In other words, conservatives are whipping themselves into a frenzy over a complete non-issue. Again. For the thousandth time.
How about we let people decide for themselves, along with the advice and counsel of their doctors? How about we allow the people who have studied gender dysphoria, who are up-to-date on the latest research, etc. help parents determine a medical plan for their children who think that they may be trans?
If you truly care about children, conservatives, and if you truly believe that parents should have the final say on what their children are taught, etc. then how can you dare impose onto parents your own uninformed and bigoted stance against transfolk?
Let the people who are best qualified to make such decisions. That would be the parents of the child and their doctor. Can you at least pretend to be ideologically consistent?

I looked at their blog and they definitely have some weird takes. I didn't scroll down super far but from what I could see, they're just very lukewarm about being pro-palestine. Which is super lame but not a crime.
As for the terf claim, I didn't really see anything abt that other than their bio. I know I "should" care, being trans and all but I tend not to vex myself over people whose opinions deny my personhood.
Idk what you expect me to do about it tho? Deleting my reblog doesn't help anyone, it's not like I'm giving them money, the post isn't about those things, etc. I hate both terfs and zionists to be sure but it's a lot more helpful to reblog Palestinian funds and such rather than try to maintain moral purity in regards to random reblogs of silly, non political art.
