This was a big Klay Thompson night. He had a team-high 42 points and lead the team to a 116-101 victory.

2/26 vs. Minnesota:

Another Klay night, with another team-high 32 points. Looney also had 17 rebounds to help the Warriors win, scoring 109-104.

Tonight's game against Portland:

Wow, was that an amazing comeback win.

The Warriors looked terrible in the first half, allowing 41 points in the first quarter alone. The Warriors were down by 17 points by halftime, and they were even down by 23 points at one point in the game.

Damian Lillard and Jeremy Grant, both the best players on the Trailblazers, were having great first halves. They seemed unstoppable and were showing up in San Francisco.

Although, this all changed in the second half.

The Warriors came out swinging, as they would score 39 points in the third quarter (as compared to the Trailblazer's 17). The team would continue to ride this wave and would keep the lead for the rest of the game with a final of 123-105.

Some big performances tonight were by Jordan Poole (team-leading 29 points), Klay Thompson (23 points with some very clutch three-point shots), and Dante DiVincenzo (21 points while shooting over 70% from the three-point line). Again, this win was without the best player, Stephen Curry.

This game was an overall team effort and showed the Warriors playing at their best, and it ultimately showed why this team should be feared if they make the playoffs.

Eating My Feelings

I hope you might hold space for the truth that all your body wants from you is for you to live in it, and that your body is working every day to make that happen.

At this point 2020 is just half over and it has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. My family downsized from our home of almost 15 years to a new neighborhood and a much smaller existence. There have been uprisings, reckonings, and increased attention around racial inequity spurred by the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and a list of black and brown bodies that seems to keep growing. All of this during a raging pandemic that has many struggling with choices of how to keep themselves, their families and their community safe. Daily, folks are trying to keep themselves housed and fed. We're seeing beloved parts of our community shuttering for good as we grapple with this “new normal”. I have been having a lot of emotions to deal with.

If I were eating my feelings, this would be a meal that has me bloated and full to bursting. It would be a wretched meal that neither sustains nor nourishes -- leaving a sour taste in my mouth like milk having just gone off. A pitiful meal indeed. 

Canapés of fear. Antipasti of anxiety that I continue to pick at throughout the meal. Depression soup, helplessness salad, and finishing off with a deflated soufflé of exhaustion for dessert. 

But I have not been eating my feelings. I've been feeling them. Sometimes collectively while at other times they tumble over each other, one right after the other --  nonstop.  I have been taking them in and trying to transmute them into hope and action. Hope for what may be and the action to hold people and systems accountable for their words and allyship. Hope that this long-term struggle for change is making a difference. Action to continue to push so that the world is more accepting, equitable, supportive and loving. I am seeing the beginnings of a positive step forward in this country’s history and it is whetting my appetite for the potential of things to come.

Belgian Style Cinnamon Waffles

I have NO idea why it didn’t occur to us to add cinnamon to waffles, but now that we have I’m not sure if I will be able to go back. This batch of Belgian Style waffles came up crispy golden on the outside and deliciously fluffy on the inside. And the hint of cinnamon made us want to throw together another batch to top with ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert.

The spirit of a Trailblazer

Back in the days, USTP CDO is one of my top and foremost choices to go in college. Despite having the fact that I didn’t pass the entrance exam to my first chosen course I was also happy that it brought so much challenge in my first years in the university. I was glad that I was at the right people who helped me a lot to overcome my fears particularly in my electronic courses whom I didn’t liked at all, but I have no choice but to continue what I started. After a one year of a roller coaster ride with a plus summer, I made up my mind that I need to change my path for the better.

Pressure is always the bread and butter of being a college student but having a spirit like a trailblazer everything is at hand. The true spirit of a trailblazer doesn’t end in finishing your studies but its how you conquer difficulties that might cross your road at any times. The urge to push yourself to the limit is always a part of being how you dealt with deviances in your journey. Always believed that only yourself can help you in achieving your desires in life and having a spirit of a trailblazer is a power anyone can’t steal from you. As this say, don’t stop when you’re tired stop when you’re done.

Easing in- wooden coaster which is always rough for me bc rocks around a bit, Wildcat, 85 feet tall. smaller drops. check ✔️✔️

Next wooden coaster is super high- Lightning Racer 90feet tall, one long drop.

Comet- oldest coaster at Hershey, no loops.

sooperdooperlooper- east coast's first loop coaster. that makes me nervous. geez how old is this thing!?! 45mph, 57 feet tall.

Looped coaster - Sidewinder, 105 feet, 47mph, boomerang style backwards 6 loops. omfg.

​​Hailing from Bristol, Tenn., the birthplace of one of the most successful music genres in the world, Ria Marie has an undeniable passion for creating music that runs as deep as her home town’s country roots. To say that singing is in her blood would simply be an understatement; she is a distant relative of the trailblazing Carter Family and the daughter of a singing prodigy who at one point had been associated with musical legends such as the late Whitney Houston and Bob Marley, to name a few.

​​Growing up, Ria spent her formative years listening to modern icons of soul and pop music like Houston, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson, all of whom have undoubtedly influenced her buttery-smooth vocal runs and razor-sharp precision as a singer. She is also no stranger to the stage, having shared roles with Broadway performers and even making callback upon callback leading up to a filming portion of America’s Got Talent at just 14 years old.

​​However, it was as recent as 2017 when Ria Marie, the artist, first began to take center stage in her current home base of Nashville.

​​After a studio session with renowned jazz pianist and composer Jeff Franzel (Frank Sinatra, Josh Groban, Lady Gaga, The Temptations), who admired her rendition of Etta James’ “At Last,” Ria was ready to begin singing her own truth.

​​“I just knew I had something more to say,” the 24-year-old shared, referring to a period of time in which she had exclusively recorded covers of popular songs. “I have always loved singing other people’s songs but there’s nothing like putting your own heart down on paper and sharing its message with people.”

​​Following a string of covers posted on her Instagram page, her undeniable vocal chops reached overseas to U.K.-based duo The Producers, who ended up emailing her a couple of instrumentals to see if they would be a creative fit. Thankfully, it was a match: a smoky blend of modern R&B with timeless, jazzy undertones, Ria’s soundscape involves hard-hitting beats anchored by infectious melodies.

​​Ria’s last single “Better” is the perfect demonstration of this dynamic pairing in the form of a fiery anthem for anyone who’s ever been in a toxic relationship. With almost 60,000 Spotify streams to date, it’s been hailed as a “surprising roller coaster ride filled with hidden twists and turns.” (Screen Reels)

​​On July 6, she’ll be following her empowerment anthem with “Playground,” a tight R&B groove that finds Ria challenging today’s double dating standards that women face. Over tough-as-brass-knuckles synths, Ria flips the dated narrative of men being the only players out in the field of love. It doesn’t hurt that acclaimed producer Sonic Pilot (Riff Raff) throws in an icy-hot guitar solo during the song’s bridge.

​​In the winter of 2019 and early 2020, Ria played numerous Sofar Sounds showcases around the country including Atlanta and NYC where she also performed at the iHeartRadio office. In February 2020, she finally met The Producers in person during a two-week writing retreat where she co-produced over 20 fresh tracks.

​​Following the release of her debut single “Honey” in fall 2018, Ria found herself playing tastemaker showcases around Music City and music festivals alongside acts like Kim Petras.

​​Her kaleidoscopic mix of melodic pop sensibilities and refreshingly bold lyrics make for songs that are immediately accessible to R&B and pop lovers alike. Whether it’s showcased through the playful lens of love at first sight as on the sultry “Honey,” or on “Dancing Through the Fog,” a journey of self-empowerment, Ria unapologetically wears her songwriting heart on her sleeve.

​​The strikingly introspective lyrics of “…Fog” depict a maturity wise beyond her years as she details the mental struggle of falling prey to one’s own ego and overcoming it by focusing on spirituality: “Reflecting light is not easy in the dark / But it won’t last if my inner sun guides me.”

​​Ria continually looks forward to the electricity of performing live, adding, “That instant gratification of relatability and knowing you’re not the only one who has gone through an experience is one of the main reasons I love performing. If one audience member can walk away from my show with even one lyric or note that has struck a chord with them, then I’ve done my job as an artist.”
