Phillips- Poole Goes Off
Something has changed for this Warriors team. Since the All-Star game, this team has lost only one game, and it's because of multiple Warriors players.
Last night was Jordan Poole's turn to be the star. He had 34 points, three assists, and two steals. Poole also shot 45 percent from the field, 41 percent from the three-point line, and 91 percent from the free-throw line.
(Video taken from the NBA YouTube Account)
As shown in this video, Poole was just unstoppable. He first makes a very tough three-pointer, then gets a steal, scores another three off of that steal, and then finally runs the full court with the ball and gets a lay-up and the foul (in which he made the free-throw). Within only three plays, Poole scored 9 points and added a steal.
Although the final score of 115-91 is a blowout, the Clippers played very well in the first half. Kawhi Leonard had 21 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. His presence on the floor as not only an offensive threat but also a defensive one, really made the Warriors start the game slowly.
Another Warrior that played was the second-year player Jonathan Kuminga. The young 20-year-old had 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and a block. This is, once again, very exciting for Warriors players. If Kuminga can continue to produce like this, while only being 20, his future career is going to be very fun to watch.
Anyway, the Warriors have been playing great since the All-Star break, and as Janie McCauley states of AP, "Even with starters Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins still on the sidelines, the Golden State Warriors are suddenly looking like a serious contender again. No matter how far they might fall behind."

Phillips- A Roller Coaster of a Game
A quick recap of the previous 2 games:
2/24 vs. Houston:
This was a big Klay Thompson night. He had a team-high 42 points and lead the team to a 116-101 victory.
2/26 vs. Minnesota:
Another Klay night, with another team-high 32 points. Looney also had 17 rebounds to help the Warriors win, scoring 109-104.
Tonight's game against Portland:
Wow, was that an amazing comeback win.
The Warriors looked terrible in the first half, allowing 41 points in the first quarter alone. The Warriors were down by 17 points by halftime, and they were even down by 23 points at one point in the game.
Damian Lillard and Jeremy Grant, both the best players on the Trailblazers, were having great first halves. They seemed unstoppable and were showing up in San Francisco.
Although, this all changed in the second half.
The Warriors came out swinging, as they would score 39 points in the third quarter (as compared to the Trailblazer's 17). The team would continue to ride this wave and would keep the lead for the rest of the game with a final of 123-105.
Some big performances tonight were by Jordan Poole (team-leading 29 points), Klay Thompson (23 points with some very clutch three-point shots), and Dante DiVincenzo (21 points while shooting over 70% from the three-point line). Again, this win was without the best player, Stephen Curry.
This game was an overall team effort and showed the Warriors playing at their best, and it ultimately showed why this team should be feared if they make the playoffs.

Phillips - Well, that was Embarrassing
The Warriors played the Lakers in Los Angeles, and it didn't go well for the Warriors.
The injured Curry still hasn't set foot on the floor, but Andrew Wiggins was another missing piece in Thursday night's game.
Wiggins, one of the three all-stars for the Warriors last year, has been a big influence on the game through his offense and defense. His presence was definitely missed as the Lakers won because of their role players, players Wiggins would have guarded.
This is what made this loss so embarrassing, LeBron James didn't even have a good night. He shot 25% from the field, with only 13 points. Anthony Davis didn't have that good of a night either as he only had 12 points. It was a loss because the Lakers' role and bench players played better than the Warriors'.
But, there is still some upside to this game.
Kevon Looney, a fan-favorite center for the Warriors, played exceptionally well in Thursday's night loss. He had a total of 10 points and 15 rebounds in only 20 minutes of playing time. But what was so exceptional was that he had seven offensive rebounds, the most of any player of the night.
As shown in the video (taken from the NBA YouTube account), Looney is working harder and getting more rebounds than anybody else. His presence helps the team have a chance to win.
Curry is the overall missing piece, and as Joe Reedy of AP states, "The Warriors are 9-12 this season without All-Star Stephen Curry. They have dropped four of six since Curry suffered a left leg injury on Feb. 4 against Dallas."
Let's see how the Warriors do tonight against the Houston Rockets, still without Curry.

Phillips- All-Star Break Analysis
My name is Caleb Phillips and I'm an NBA fan, specifically of the Golden State Warriors. These blogs will be updates about how the Warriors are doing and if they can be back-to-back champions.
As of right now, the NBA is on its All-Star break, and games won't resume until Thursday. So, this is a good time to talk about the absence of Stephen Curry, the only All-Star for the Warriors this season.
Stephen Curry hasn't played since February 4th with partial tears in his leg ligaments. This is very worrying for Warriors fans, especially because "Curry told reporters that he will not be ready for Golden State's first game, against the Lakers, after the All-Star break," as reported by Brad Botkin.
Curry is averaging 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 42% from the three-point line this season. With such good numbers like this, it's an obvious detriment to the team with his absence.
But, there is an upside, and his name is Jordan Poole. The 23-year-old has been lights-out in the absence of Curry.
Since February 4th, Poole has been averaging 22 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds while shooting 46% from the field and 43% from the three-point line.
This should get Warriors fans excited for Poole's future, but the team still hasn't looked great. With a 29-29 record, the Warriors are barely making the playoffs as of right now.
We'll see how they look on Thursday because the team needs to play much better after the All-Star break to be contenders for the championship.
