Mothra - the giant divine moth kaiju that made its first appearance in Toho's 1961 film, "Mothra". Although benevolent in nature, she laid waste to Tokyo in her quest to recover two priestesses called the Shobijin.

(GODZILLA MINUS ONE) 2023
I just watched it, and yeah, they're definitely getting an Oscar woah! A Godzilla movie made me tear up. I've grown up watching "all the movies" and "related animated series" never once have I cried from it. Wonder how they're gonna top this masterpiece in the future if they continue this new toho run?🤔

Inktober2023 Day 23-FRANKENSTEIN vs. BARAGON!
-The strangest kaiju film, from Toho Films and the creators of Godzilla, you may never have heard of, but MUST see!!
-At the end of WWII, the living heart of the original Frankenstein monster is brought to Japan to be studied for its regenerative qualities, only to, seemingly, be destroyed during the dropping of the atomic bomb. Decades later, in 60s Japan, a humanoid mutant is found and revealed to have been grown from said irradiated heart! But when he begins growing to colossal size, the misfit monster goes on the run, clashing with the military and eventually, the burrowing kaiju: Baragon!

Godzilla in pop culture: Look at this funny dinosaur guy fight other dinosaur guys. He's so wacky!
Godzilla in the original film (and Shin Godzilla and Minus One): This beast represents our fears and damaged psyche caused by nuclear destruction. We must be staunchly anti-war or risk the annihilation of our species to petty grievances. We will never truly heal from the pain and suffering that occurred in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
Godzilla in every other movie: Look at this funny dinosaur guy fight other dinosaur guys. He's so wacky!
I should mention that I legitimately love both styles of film, but the mood whiplash between them is pretty intense.

Now that this version of Mickey Mouse is in public domain, not even Disney will be able to save him from the likes of our lord Godzilla 😂🤣. Artwork by (@pyrasterran)

Throughout most of Godzilla: Minus One, the King of Kaiju comes off as inscrutable, wrathful, unstoppable, but during the final battle he appears openly hateful in this shot:
Tumblr media
The vibe I get from this is the same as lots of villains in various media. It's that "Who are YOU to judge ME? You call me a monster...and now I will show you one."
Just a vibe, but I love it, and by GOD does he look so creepy as his flesh is falling off and he's prepping the nuclear blast that would make God cry.
