Salixa: That was so hot, Gorath.
Gorath: I literally called the person who just flirted with you a degenterate dog and told them I hope they get dragged through the streets.
Salixa: I'm so in love with you.

A Matter of Keeping Your Perspective While Writing…
I haven’t posted any new stories lately, but this is not because I haven’t been writing. On the contrary, I’ve been rather busy with stories lately. In fact, I recently completed one tale set during in World War I, involving Nathan and a zeppelin. Sounds intriguing? Well, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the 2nd anthology “Two for the Road” to come out, to read it.
Which with a little luck,…

I liked the part with the giant walrus.
A very strange movie, with a plot too ridiculous to overlook, an overly large cast of unmemorable characters, preachy monologues, and a couple of unnecessary side plots crammed in at the last minute.
Lots of things happened in this movie, yet it still felt uneventful. Gorath seemed more interested in promoting a world view than delivering an entertaining movie. Half the dialogue was unnaturally worded, ham-fisted speeches about how international cooperation is great and global unity is vital to our survival. At one point they credited the U.N. with somehow ending racism.
The score was excessively grand and energetic considering the action rarely matched it. The miniature effects were fun, as always, especially the montage of construction at the South Pole. I found the ending to be surprisingly anti-climactic, considering how much they built up to it. I'm pretty sure one brief shot depicted the entire moon exploding, and nobody so much as commented on it.
Most of the performances were decent enough, but I didn't manage to learn a single character's name or take real interest in any of them. When one of the guys went too close to Gorath and developed temporary space amnesia, I assumed this would somehow tie into the main plot. Perhaps his memory would come back and he would reveal Gorath communicated with him or something? Nope, his memory just returned at random and nothing came of it.
Sadly, the inclusion of the giant walrus Maguma was just as pointless. It came out of nowhere when the movie was almost over, and five minutes later they had effortlessly killed it. Considering I watched this for Monster Monday, Maguma features prominently on the Letterboxd page, and it's an awesome giant walrus, my disappointment is immeasurable.
A weird concept with messy execution. Not very good.

Salixa: It's like feeding two birds with one hand!!
Gorath: ...Do you mean "killing two birds with one stone"?
Salixa, very serious: I would never hurt a bird
