Matthew 28:1-7

1. In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

RAIDEEN the BRAVE! 勇者ライディーン

Co-created by Gundam creator Yodhiyuki Tomino, Raideen is an giant ancient robot guardian, created by the the people of the lost continent of Mu! Piloted by teenager Akira Hibiki, he must use Raideen to defend mankind from The Mu’s ancient enemies: the evil Demon Empire and it’s dark god: Baraos!

For years, I only knew about this robot from random toys and the covers of Marvel’s Shogun Warriors comic, but was truly surprised by its unique and grand original story!

Akira Toriyama’s epic Dragonball series took up such a major part of both my teen years and my art! I will never forget all the afternoons after school, rushing to see Toonami play their block of DBZ episodes, the awe of finally seeing the newest episode, the re-airing of the original Dragonball series, and later on, me doing my best to draw my own epic takes on Goku and the gang!

While they presented their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, the drummer boy had only his song to play; a song that brought happiness to Child’s face! A with that, a great blessing to the Drummer Boy, for he gave all he could for the King of Kings!

🦾DINOSAUR WAR IZENBORG! 🦖

My spin on one of the most unique Japanese tokusatsu shows you may never have heard of!

Filmed in a combo of live action and 2D animation, the show has a unique look that makes it a kind of anime counterpart to Thunderbirds vibe!

-The series follows the adventures of cyborg siblings Ai and Zen and their teammates of D-Force, who, using their advanced transforming vehicle, Izenborg, fight an invasion of the surface by intelligent giant dinosaurs and kaiju from the hollow earth! However, when the situation gets bad, Ai and Zen utilize their unique cybernetic enhancements and powers to enhance their vehicle into an big flying drill ship, and if things get really bad, they use a fusion power to become the giant robotic hero: Izenbo, to fight giant reptiles one-one-one!

I’ve only gotten to see a little of this series via clips and the American edited movie version: Attack of the Super Monsters (which Riff Trax did a great episode of) , While the show and its animation is definitely rough at times, Izenborg has lots of fun elements and interesting concepts, really unique look with its 2D meets live action look! I hope someday it gets brought over here in full!

Inktober 2023 Day 31- ERNEST SCARED STUPID!!🎃🦇🧌

-Everyone’s favorite wacky, redneck inventor, handyman: Ernest P. Worrell, has gone many places, and done many things, but none will forget the time he became an unlikely Halloween hero!

-After accidentally freeing the evil troll Trantor, Ernest sets out to make things right; aided by his trusty dog Rimshot, crazy old lady Hattmore and a few of the local kids, he must save his hometown of Briarville, Missouri from Trantor, and his repulsive troll army!-Know what ‘ah mean!?

-Ernest movies were a staple of the 90s fun and this particular one is an unsung horror comedy classic! The late-great legendary Jim Varney, was a true, one-of-kind comedic American treasure, and there has yet to be another like him! Rest in Peace Mr. Varney.RIP

Sinister Red, Destructive Green and Violent Blue: the three most lethal cosmic assassins have returned!! No target is too tough, too elusive, or too dangerous for them. Rumor has it, a multiversal threat has enlisted them to eliminate a pair of particular targets: a lion man with distinct galactic mane and the other, described as a: scarecrow wearing a space ship captain’s hat!

Been a LONG while since I drew these three, felt they were long over due for a return!

Inktober 2023 Day 29-KAMEN RIDER KUUGA

Centuries ago, humanity was besieged by the evil, shapeshifting Gurongi Tribe, only to be saved by the warrior Kuuga, who defeated and sealed the Gurongi away.

Now, centuries later, the Gurongi are back and fate leads Kuuga’s transformation belt to find a new host: wandering do-gooder, Yusuke Godai! Armed with his newfound powers, and a host of allies, Yusuke fights the Gurongi as Kamen Rider Kuuga, seeking to end their centuries-old evil game!

The first of the Heisei Era Riders, Kuuga relaunched Kamen Rider into the New Millennium, and reimagined the masked hero in ways both new, yet-old too!

Inktober 2023 Day 26-GOLDEN BAT REBORN!💀🦇

In life he was a heroic warrior sorcerer of Atlantis; now, a century later, he is awoken from tomb to continue his task as the all-powerful super-mummy: the GOLDEN BAT!! Aided by a pair of sibling children and their scientist father, Golden Bat seeks to save the world from the forces of evil, most notably, the fiendish masked supervillain: DR. NAZO and his many minions and monsters!

-My spin on Japan’s fist superhero is mainly based on the original 1933 kamishibai versions of both him and Dr Nazo, but with a few twists! Would love someday to make a comic of this guy, has so much potential to work with!
