“Can I do your hair?”

My knock on her door is quick, I shuffle my feet back and forth and then the door flies open. I’m struck by the sight of my partner much shorter than normal in a bathrobe with a toothbrush hanging out her mouth.

“Em...ily!” her voice is slightly frustrated as she gestures for me to come in. She knows our plane leaves soon and even with badges and no checked luggage we will have to scramble out of here within 15 minutes to make it. She pulls the toothbrush out of her mouth part of the pastes foam is still caught on the side of her lips.

“Emily! Get out here now. We need to hurry.”

I see Scully start to work towards her bathroom, almost tripping on a toy.”I thought I told you to put these things away.” Her voice fades and I feel out of place among the newly acquired toys and shoes. Two women live here, there are dirty dishes in the sink, crayons on the table. Stuffed bunnies and a tent fort with christmas lights. I can’t help but smile, at the life in this once quiet apartment. Sure her home was always cozy but now it is filled with love and stuff and happiness. I know Miss Scully will be here soon and start to pick up some toys while I make my way to the kitchen. I roll up my sleeves and start washing dishes. I should cook for them, Scully is a decent cook but she lacks imagination when it comes to spices. I want to cook for her and Emily, I want to be one of the people in the tent fort reading stories. When Scully brought Emily back with her I kept a distance. I wanted her to have time to get to know her daughter, but I missed them both so much. I started dropping by a little more often on days when we weren’t working. I started making sure our cases were local, if it wasn’t for Scully being the best damn pathologist the world over I wouldn’t even be here this early. But I’m here to take her to see the death of the innocent and hope to hell that she can give me a suspect.

“Emily your hair, ugh. Ok just go see if Mulder can help ok?”

I can see Emily looking skeptically at Scully down the hall, she has the identical eyebrow raise that I’ve had annoy me for the last 5 years. Emily still shy and mostly nonverbal comes over to me with a brush and some spray thing that upon closer inspection says detangler on it. She plops down in between my long legs on the couch but doesn’t move. I move my head down and look at her sideways.

“Can I do your hair Ms. Em?” she gives me a small nod holding up the brush and pray sitting back. Scully, ever the one to be practical has placed a series of hair ties on the handle of the brush.

“What about two cool braids like that character in that movie you like?” her face lights up.

“Like Anna?” she whispers.

“I mean or the other one, what’s her sister's name? ”

Emily looks at my quizzically. I’ve seen Frozen about 15 times with her.

“Elsa silly,”

“Ah oh yea…. Elsa.”

“Anna please,”

she turns to the tv and waits patiently as I spray her hair carefully combing it back and creating a divide as I start to slowly braid each side being mindful to have a little bit of bangs in the front for authenticity. I move slowly and methodically being careful not to pull her hair. She’s very agreeable to letting me move her head whichever way works best. It’s the part of her personality I’m sure must come from whomever her father is, because no part of Scully is that agreeable. Emily is mostly dressed except for having two different left shoes on she is about ready to walk out the door. I hear Scully knock into a lamp and mutter “Shit” my normal always put together partner is hard to find these days being a single mom is hard but man she is still a natural.

Scully comes in pulling on her blazer and fluffing her hair back just as Mrs. Scully knocks and walks in. Emily immediately tries to get up forgetting I’m still in the process of tying the last braid.

“Owww” she says as her body jerks back into my hands.

“Ohh.. geez sorry Em.”

“S’ok Mulder, you still don’t hurt me as much as Dana.”

Scully gives a look and I have to chuckle.

“Ok kiddo all done. Anna would be impressed.” she giggles and runs to Mrs. Scully and gestures to her to come down so Emily can tell her a secret.

“Guess who I am?” Mrs. Scully true to form can’t contain her excitement to know.

“Oh my gosh, you couldn’t be Anna princess of Arendale could you?”

Emily jumps with glee and yells “YES”

I go over to Scully her rolling carryon in one hand.

“Hi” she says and leans up giving me a deep long kiss right in front of her mom, and I’m a little star struck. Her mom ever patient

“Well that’s new, but you better hurry or you will miss the flight Dana,”

My deep blush matches my beautiful partners hair as I leaned down and picked up her feisty little girl to a big hug.

“We will be back as soon as we catch some bad guys, ok princess Anna,” her small arms hug me with such fierceness.

“Ok Muldy”

I put her down as Scully leans down gives Emily the standard speech about listening to grandma and no candy after 5 and teeth brushing is twice a day for 2 full minutes, but her eyes are a little misty, and she hugs Emily with a fierceness of love and devotion.

“Thank you so much Mrs. Scully, I think it’ll only be a day or two.”

Scully chimes in. “Mom you are the best, thank you so much I’ll call as soon as we land,”

Mrs. Scully hugs her daughter close and then she hugs me. She leans in close whispers into my ear.

“Better come home to the rest of your family quickly, this little girl doesn’t do well without her Muldy.”

I choke up a bit and nod quickly grab Scully's luggage as she grabs my other hand and we rush out the door.

basicALLY, he’s really quite… rough around the edges. not an asshole? but not-not an asshole…? skfafa sam would prolly say like a goblin-lite, if you will. scottys been through SOOO much that he naturally, kinda grew to emotionally distance himself from /alot/ of people. hes not anti-social by…. ANY stretch of the imagination nowadays but like just because you know him doesn’t mean you KNOW him. has abandonment issues but rather than being clingy he will just– break up with u before u even THINK about leaving him. tbh that’s if he ever makes “dating” official to begin with. isn’t he lovely?

more in-depth:

alrighty so scotty was born october 21st, 1997 in brooklyn, new york to celia taylors. ( footnotes bc i don’t feel like writing alladat rn buuuut his dad skipped town before he was born bc tea: he has a wife and kids and rlly shouldn’t have been messing around with celia in the first place.) unfortunately, celia was not suited to be a mother by any means. as irresponsible as it comes, she didn’t necessarily make any concessions/change anything about her…. she was still HEAVY into drugs, HEAVY into drinking, and often would forget she left her child in the motel for hours at a time.

so from birth to like 5 he was… very alone and isolated. didn’t really hang out with other kids his age. mostly found himself stuck inside with the tv annnd whomever his mom found to “babysit” him.

by age five he was taken out of his mom’s custody and thrown into foster care. super terrified and uneasy around new people in general he was incredibly timid and scared as he moved around from house to house. he didn’t speak to anyone, stayed curled up in a ball like 99.9% of the time, night terrors, he was.. alot. so he hoped around foster homes from the ages five to eight. mainly because of his behavioral issues and each foster parent just... giving up on him.

when he was ten, he was on his fourth set of foster parents and they were really great. ryland and elizabeth st.james are two doctors who were honestly really great, really patient, and really tried to give him outlets to help him break out of his shell ( ala: putting him in guitar and singing) and worked! alot better than they expected. scotty really just needed an outlet to express himself and music was the perfect place for that. from then on ryland and elizabeth really grew on scotty . they are honestly the sweetest people he’s ever met, packing him kale filled lunches with cheesy “ have a good day at school” notes on napkins. they’re the first of his foster parents that he genuinely connected and the first encounter he’s ever had with genuine love . :”) he’d also meet his best friend , brodie when he was ten on the first day of school. the two connected of a bag of cookies and music lmao . to boil it down, scotty’s life really started looking up around this time.

the st.james’ officially adopted him when he was eleven, legally changing his last name to seal the deal. tbh this is the best day of scott’s life, he definitely will cry if he has to talk about it.

having fallen in love with playing guitar and writing songs, scotty came up with the idea to start a band a group of his friends. they’d do a few gigs here and there but ultimately finally started making real career moves when they connected with a record label.

they’d move to los angeles once things started to kick off and the rest was history !

personality:

as aforementioned, scott’s still a little distant to most when first meeting them. mainly because he still fears getting close to someone and them leaving him once they really get to know him. so that’s another thing -- it’s kinda hard to read him? he’s not a fake person or anything, he just has a tendency to keep people at an arms length at all times. it’s not a secret but most people don’t know he’s adopted cause he hates talking about everything before he met the st. james family!

kinda goes with that, but he’s the type to have alot of “friends” but really he’d consider most of them just random people he knows. it takes alot to earn titles like friends with this guy... sjafsd

tendency to write himself off as “not good enough” for just about every crush he’s ever had in his life. generally just really struggles with his self esteem .

i’d describe him as that small boy that was really scared when he was put into foster care in a much more harden shell. sarcasm and not taking anything really seriously, it’s all defense mechanism! he still struggles with those same childhood anxieties sometimes.

loves music, particularly 90s / early 2000s pop-punk , rock, and alternative.

will write a song about you and deny it because admitting he has enough emotions to?? write a love song about someone?? nahhhhhhh they could hurt him if they knew that.

i have a few things i wanna share and ask you guys:

1. ily

2. i’ve been thinking about this for a while now. my inbox has been pretty full these past few weeks with ps/edit questions etc. and i was thinking about maybe making a discord group open for everyone? so if you have any questions/ideas/requests you’d like me to answer it’d be way easier for me to do so. it also allows us to communicate with each other way easier. it’s just a thought, let me know what you guys think!

3. i wanna make another playlist, but i’m unsure of what to make. so if you have any suggestions (like a study mix, opera list, something else entirely?) reply and let me know!

4. my activity will wary a bit this year, but i won’t go on hiatus. like some of you know, i’m currently living in france where i study french and art. during all of this i also travel quite a lot + volunteer work and blabla. in may i’ll go back home to sweden and try to decide how my summer will look and what i’m going to do in the fall since i currently have no idea. my point being, i have a lot of things going on in my life so i can’t always be 100% active. my goal is to post at least once daily, hopefully more. so if you think somethings wrong, don’t worry. it’s just me trying to be an #adult.

5. when you guys tag me/@ me in stuff i always see it and it’s amazing! thanks for taking the time to do that!

AU/Works that do not/will not fit in with the series current on-screen canon

Sherlock: A TV series featuring a hot guy with awesome deductive skills, his best friend the doctor, the exasperated detective inspector, the sweet landlady, and the pathologist. And no, the pathologist isn’t in love with the hot guy. - The Silent Fangirl

A post TRF fic, where Sherlock takes Molly with him, but they return to London a couple years later than in canon because Molly got pregnant along the way (or even twice), so now they are three/four of them instead of two? - @mychakk

“We had chips. She liked me.” – Sherlock in TLD. What could have been had he and Molly gotten chips in TEH: A kick to Tom’s butt. Happy greeting (a hug at least!) at the end of TEH. Quite a lot of sex with Sherlock instead of Tom. Molly the best man’s date. A (sophisticated. Or not) Molly/Janine cat fight for Janine hitting on SH moments. Dancing, so much Sherlolly dancing (and no leaving early). Probably no Shezza (Shezzer?)—which, hmm, is a shame (But maybe they’ve their own not-being-on-a-sex-holiday-but-sexing-a-lot time). A real proposal to Molly. Molly at family Christmas, maybe even a Christmas wedding. Solving CAM without the threat of exile sharpens Sherlock’s deductive abilities. No Norbury as Molly’s already expecting their first offspring, so Sherlock doesn’t taunt needlessly. Mary as the Sherlolly baby godmother as she’s alive! Culverton Smith is taken down by the duo of Mary and Molly while the latter gives birth there (because the ladies are awesome, plus Mrs H tackles him down). John is so impressed he doesn’t look at any other women. Molly’s big heart brings Eurus from her metaphoric plane the moment she steps into 221B, plus baby Holmes wins her heart too. The Holmes family reconciliation and Eurus is in therapy instead of being a multi-killer. Baker Street Boys Team continues while Baker Street Girls Team gives them a run for their money. Mycroft asks Lady Smallwood out himself to her astonishment and internal squealing. Mummy Holmes gets more grandkids than she could’ve imagined. And basically, everyone walks happily into the sunset. The End. Please note, some things can obviously be modified. - @mychakk *

AU: Molly runs away from home when her parents try to arrange a marriage for her. She wants to pursue a life that involves science and marry for love if she ever gets married at all. She meets Sherlock, who is being pressured by his family to marry a nice girl they found for him who loves science as much as he does. It will be interesting when they figure it out. - @shadowyqueenbeard

AU. Instead of dying, Mary actually does hide from Sherlock and John effectively and they don’t find her. Still wracked by guilt and worried he’ll never see her again, John still imagines her in his mind and Sherlock still goes after Culverton Smith … possibly both to save John and because maybe Smith knows something about where Mary went? To solve the mystery and bring Mary home, Sherlock and Molly team up. - @rooneykmara

Crossovers/Works set in or inspired by another specific fictional universe (ie Potter!lock)

I’d really like to see a Daemon (from the His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman) version of Series 3/TAB/Series 4 (any or all of those), especially when it comes to the ILY scene. - Kay

iZombie!Sherlock – Think of this, if Sherlock gets infected we have: 1) Sherlock with white hair 2) Sherlock getting brains from Molly “for experiments” 3) Sherlock getting different attitudes (hippie brain = hippie!Sherlock) 4) Paler than normal pale Sherlock 5) Sherlock with red bloodshot eyes. Also: If Molly Hooper gets infected, it’s like she’s the Liv Moore of Barts. Lestrade as Clive (and relieved to be not only depending on Sherlock to solve crimes). Sherlock deduces Molly’s hair color and tan (because Molly can’t show up to work with white hair, even whiter skin color, and very slow pulse rate). Have you had sex? – After Euros asked that I somehow thought “Molly??” (as Sherlock says, Irene only texts him, he doesn’t reply). Later it seems that Euros is the only one who ever has noticed that Molly causes some emotions in him. So my theory is that something happened between Molly and Sherlock, it happened pretty recently, somehow (stressful night and they talked or they had some drinks and somehow one thing led to another) they ended up having sex; but Sherlock wasn’t good at dealing with it after or something urgent came along and he didn’t really consider Molly’s emotions, he ran off right after or in the morning, and that could be the reason why Molly didn’t pick up the phone first and was in a bad mood during the “ILY scene”. What happened between them recently is the reason why Molly is a bit rude to Sherlock when he calls, and the reason why she gets so emotional and raw so easily over the I Love You thing, and why she so easily tells him to say it first. Well, then when Sherlock says “I love you” he finally realizes fully that he really does love her too, and that he is capable of loving that way, and finally sees how easy it could be and what he could lose. Then after this whole thing he goes to talk to Molly and explain things to her. - @lullikiish

Complete me as a person. — Scene that popped into my mind. Irene has been texting Sherlock again, Sherlock in the end almost agrees to meet her for dinner, but as he’s walking out of his flat while Molly is there looking after Rosie he sees Molly in kind of slo-mo in the golden evening sun holding Rosie and being all sweet. Maybe already something a bit has happened before between them, some flirting, etc. The talk with John about a relationship completing him as a person is on the back of his mind. He walks out, but midway down the stairs while taking his phone out (symbolically in darkness compared to that evening sun) he realizes that he misses that warmth and Molly, and realizes that is what completes him. He takes out his phone and texts he’s not coming and then goes back upstairs. Sees Molly all adorable and confused/surprised in this beautiful light and maybe goes to kiss her, etc. - @lullikiish

It seems he is too busy to sign the paperwork, he has misplaced it, always an excuse not to dissolve the marriage. Eventually he has to admit he really does want to be married to her. I have read this in one or two fics, but not really developed as a main theme of the story … so: What if Rosie wants to pair John and Molly? How Sherlock will react and … how will he convince Rosie that Molly is for him and not for John. I’m imagining some angst in the middle because the silly man thinks this is a wonderful idea: Rosie gets a mummy and Molly gets a family. I’m in love with this ask because this has been my most ridiculous headcanon for an age I’m glad I could subtely make you share it, anon - Kirishima being perfectly aware of the fact that aside from the face there is no objective reason why he should be that smitten with Bakugou? That’s my jam, he’s as surprised as anyone else so when people ask him anything love related he’s like “do I look like a reliable source man DO I I think it’s hot when Bakugou yells there’s obviously something wrong with me you don’t want my advices”

But also for however aware of it he might be he’s still in love with the dude so people pointing it out to him gets old really fast, like, “it’s one thing if I say it myself and another it’s you talking shit about my boyfriend stop that”, which is why he just starts using “what do I know I like Bakugou” as an answer to anything - it starts with him being a smartass and it becomes just habit by the end of it, sometimes he uses it when Bakugou is around or with Bakugou himself and Bakugou doesn’t understand, doesn’t want to understand, has pondered the option of getting angry/offended/demanding an explaination and has deemed it not worth his time because the answer is most probably just gonna be that his boyfriend is an idiot anyway

(also he might or might not like how Kirishima’s pretty much just going around telling people he likes him over and over again, tbh)

Thank you for the compliment!!!! And actually this is an hard question, cause as I already mentioned once what I draw is the first thing with a beginning and an ending I can come up with, so I can’t say I put too much focus on making it unique? But there are two things I can tell you!

The first, is that whatever idea your prompt ends up giving you, for however boring and basic it might seem to you, I assure you 100% that it won’t be to whomever ends up consuming your content - that’s because even a “boring” trope will be completely new as long as it comes from the hands of someone new who’s giving it their own interpretation of it (take for example the nightmares prompt for the latest krbk week, a lot of people - myself included - took it literally and wrote about them having and talking about nightmares, but I enjoyed every and each of the fills a lot because even if the starting point was the same they were all very very different stories) and also any idea you get easily will seem boring to you by default, because you didn’t think about it hard enough, right? It must be the obvious thing to think about when you read that prompt, right? Everyone else must have thought the same, right? Only it isn’t right, because every brain works differently and creativity sparks from the most ridiculous things, so your idea might seem very obvious and boring to you, but completely new to someone else! You don’t know how many of my own fills felt incredibly trite as I drew them, and yet here you are telling me you don’t feel the same at all haha

The second thing is that generally I found that creativity is... how do I put it, it’s kind of like a muscle. The more you exercise it the easier it will come to you using it, or at least that’s how it works for me - being creative isn’t really something you can force on the spot, but it’s definitely something you can learn and get used to, in my opinion. There are a few ways to exercise it, but the easier one for me is playing around with prompts - how many different ideas can I get from this same set of words? what kind of story can I pull out of this song/picture? Those are the most basic ones, but there’s also reading/watching a story and trying to adapt it to your own chosen characters, fit together more than one universe to try and pull out something sensible, seeing something in the middle of the road and thinking “that’s a prompt, I can use that as a prompt”. After a while, everything becomes a potential prompt, and your brain automatically goes through a short “can I use that to create something else?” check every time you experience something new, and stores it somewhere to use in the future if it seems potentially worth keeping, if you’re used to doing so. And the more little prompts and informations and facts you have stored around in your brain, the more you can subconsciously pick them up to add to new ones to make something creative

That second part is definitely a bit useless as a short term advice, considering your week is starting soon and exercising your creativity does take a while, but I hope you’ll give the week a go anyway! Both because I’m sure you’re already way more creative than you’re assuming you are, and because making creative stuff is the fastest way to becoming more creative, really!
