Im just yapping but there is this fic on fimficton called Discord of Tomorrow that’s about s2 evil discord traveling forward in time right before he can be turned to stone to switch places with the version of himself (reformed discord) that exists when the elements of harmony are gone, so reformed discord gets stuck in the past and has had to snap away and hide the elements of harmony from the mane 6 so he can focus on trying to get back to the future without getting turned to stone, all while dealing with the moral dilemma of him realizing how easy it was to take the elements and how easy it would be to seriously just take Equestria over again vs being worried about what evil discord is currently doing to his friends in present time. It’s only like three chapters but I think the plot is so funny and the author didn’t even get to the part where evil discord is in the future and the mane 6 is trying to figure out wtf his problem is, thinking he has amnesia or something. I want to make a comic expanding on it so bad I’m like seriously obsessed with it I can’t stop thinking about it

harry is sort of the sirius of the golden era though isn’t he. in my head at least. like his home life is shitty, he’s loyal to a fault, he gets basically taken in by his best mate’s parents but does go his own way. he inherits a good amount of gold from his decent family members (his parents and sirius). is spat on by society & the government over something that isn’t even his fault. bit of a bitch. a cheeky little fucker. has light eyes and dark hair. would probably kill for his codependent buds if absolutely necessary. probably also has the gal (and self-imposed guilt) to stay in azkaban for 12 years before escaping on willpower alone.

An interesting theme, imo, in mdzs is the sheer tiredness you must feel when dealing with someone who, having been dead for more than a decade, is still the same person as before, while you aren't anymore.

eventually it becomes a common occurrence for people (tazercraft/sometimes phil) to point shit out in the distance (the distance being shorter than 10 feet) and try to get fit to describe what it is and they learn that he just guesses what everything is that is too for away for him to see properly (even though they can see it perfectly) so they’re like ok something is up

one day mike’s like “you can’t see anything past me and pac? put on my fucking glasses rn” and hands them to fit and he’s like “why” so they have to explain to fit that it is not normal to have blurry vision. especially when pac easily points out everything that fit can barely even tell the outline to. something only 5 feet away

fit puts on mike’s glasses and he’s like holy shit I can see the barbie dream house from here and tazercraft is like. everyone but you can see the barbie dream house from here fit. you just have bad eyesight

and then after that they make him shitty glasses and he starts pointing out stuff in the distance (farther than 10 feet away) constantly because he can finally see what they are

I'm introducing my kids to Star Trek, starting with TOS. We've watched The Trouble With Tribbles and they were rolling with laughter. They're 8 and 6. The 8 year old knows no fear when it comes to shows, the 6 year old hates jump scares and creepy monsters.
