Liam saying that Orym’s deal with Nana Morri means that Liam probably has little vines running through his veins and powering his new spells???
Horrifying *and* the best thing ever.

I saw your tag on your latest post and just wanted to say, congratulations on your marriage! Hope it was as wonderful as you could have hoped! 🥳
Aw thank you! 💚
We did Rollies as our first dance! I’ll probably post some pics sometime once I get them back from our photographer. 📸

After Deni$e and Ashton had that whole Dariax and Dorian “bag of dicks” moment, there was a moment of silence and Orym’s/Liam’s face just… softly crumpled, and he tried not have it show as he stared at the basin that showed Dorian.
There was a beautiful little moment where Ashton’s/Taliesin’s gaze shifted from Deni$e/Aimee after looking away from her and moved to Orym/Liam and looked him up and down as their brows furrowed in thought.
Ashton/Taliesin 100% clocked Orym’s/Liam’s reaction to seeing Dorian again and definitely clocked how seeing Dorian alive really made him get emotional.
Can’t wait to see what Ashton/Taliesin does with this information.

I noticed towards the end of the episode that Liam and Taliesin were dressed as complimentary opposites.
(The fact that they’re in the same pose was an accident; I had to rush to get a good shot at the end but neither of them were moving out of this pose!)

I love that the premise for this chapter is “your assignment was successful, you got the dangerous thing you were sent to get… but now you gotta get home, and you have something *very* dangerous on board”.
Liam O’Brien is full-on treating this chapter of Candela Obscura like it’s The Last Voyage of The Demeter, and I fucking love it.

In the promo photos for Critical Role campaign 3, episode 83, you can clearly see Liam’s new notebook for Orym and I recognized it immediately as either a Peter Pauper Press journal or a Paperblanks one, and I found it on Paperblanks here. Could be a great prop for Orym cosplayers (like myself) or anyone who just thinks the notebook was really pretty!
(Also, Paperblanks makes beautiful notebooks based on historical books and manuscripts, I highly recommend checking them out.)

There’s one good thing about FCG’s permadeath.
It means that Orym’s deal with Nana Morri is broken because they’re not all returning alive. Now he won’t have to keep his end of their deal and serve her in exchange for the powers she bestowed upon him.
FCG sacrificing himself saved not just their lives, but also Orym’s freedom.

I love that they dressed Kaylie and Scanlan in similar colors, and that they made sure he’s wearing his Revolutionary Beret™️ so that his raspberry beret* matches Kaylie’s color blocking.
*oh my god I just got the joke that they gave him a raspberry beret

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the dream sequence of Scanlan’s? From the Tal’Dorei Reborn inspired group portrait to the troll dick, sex toys, wanted poster, purple flute and framed image of a chair on display, it’s just so good!

These three final episodes of season 2 had so many insane, wonderful stand-out moments.
the Killbox and the rock metal Rage song featuring Travis’ vocals
the Kaylie reveal (+the immovable rod being her sword)
the gorgeous way the blood communion was designed, holy shit
Vax no longer being afraid, asking the Matron of Ravens for help, and accepting his role as Champion the Deathwalker’s Ward becoming exalted and giving Vax wings in another beautifully designed sequence
the fight with Umbrasyl, just… everything about it, in terms of both battle choreography and character moments—and when everything seemed genuinely hopeless and they had done such a good job making us genuinely unsure if everyone was going to make it out, Scanlan’s Mythcarver moment was a brilliant bit of script writing
Pike revealing her feelings for Scanlan in the most Pike and Scanlan of ways
the magic key setting up (I assume) the Magnificent Mansion for the next season
THE START OF LARKIN WATCH
making Thordak’s eggs more prominent/important, making the fight to bring down the Chroma Conclave a ticking clock that’s fast running out of time

SO HE CAN KISS DORIAN AT THE SAME HUMAN-SIZED SCALE AS HIM

Ok. Let’s get this straight:
Essek entered Caleb’s cottage, immediately dropped his disguise as soon as he was over the threshold
Caleb touched Essek’s cheek/jaw lovingly when commenting about how Essek never has any scruff but he himself does
Caleb said “come, dear” plain as day
Essek leans in and kisses Caleb before moving to walk further in
only then does Caleb look out the door and down the road towards Rexxentrum, then at the green beans that he grows because he grew them with his parents before finally closing the door
Caleb and Essek were so comfortable with each other that they did all of that in Caleb’s doorway where anyone could see.

Orym had that talk in the tree with Bor’Dor, they really connected.
And this whole time… Bor’Dor was part of the group that killed his husband.
His father-in-law.
Two of his friends.
Himself.
And now Orym, sweet Orym, a man of peace and who is determined to protect, nods to Laudna to strike the killing blow to Bor’Dor.

“Some fucking German Expressionism, go go go!”
- Orym/Liam describing basically The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (and then Sam specifically mentioning it a few moment later)
So, for reference, this is the vibe of this Dark Whitestone. But with more bone.
