well in my personal opinion, if everyone were to actually be written in character, here's how it goes:

- hawkman (carter hall): his views make sense but everyone hates him so they don't want to admit he's right because who wants to listen to this guy and also, he tends to be right for the completely wrong reasons. also he purposely says the most baffling republican/conservative stuff for the sole purpose of pissing off oliver queen (they definitely did it once), he doesn't actually believe in that and everyone (minus the people who were teenage sidekicks at the time) knows but the drama is entertaining so might as well.

- hawkgirl (shiera hall): i actually don't know but considering she was retconned to be a news reporter, she's definitely had to lecture carter a few times (something she actually did in 40s comics) and carter hasn't learned a single thing because this man just simply stares at her in awe. idk how she dealt with him in all honesty.

- hawkgirl (kendra saunders): only sane hawkperson political wise, should be an anarchist

- hawkwoman (shayera thal hol): imperialist-marxist

- hawkman (katar hol): my only view of katar is post crisis katar and he has never done anything wrong ever actually. he found out he had a native american birth mom as a grown man, he was simply misinformed. he's my prince ❤️

Not his own child but another feral mutation child who was under his tuteledge- Logan used to beat up wild child and treated him as irredeemable even back when he was in the flight program. Maybe Logan's mistreatment of his own children comes from internalized mutantphobia a lil too

I don't know much abt Kyle but I'm not surprised about this at all. I'm assuming this took place long before Logan knew who Romulus was but Kyle was one of Romulus' people, and in general is a feral mutant with a similar history to him, so yeah I'm not surprised.

i think reading lazarus planet: we once were gods & lazarus planet: revenge of the gods is recommended! they set up where billy and co. are pretty well. the first because it explains his new relationship to the rock of eternity and the latter bc it expands on his goals/pantheon (though he’s not really the star of it as much as mary is!!)

I think the lack of permeance of death will affect Scott's martyr complex and how his own death really really doesn't matter

hmm interesting...when i think about scott and his martyr complex i think a lot about scott wanting a "good" and meaningful death. he wants to accomplish something by dying, to be valuable to others in some way. i think this is why he asks emma if he had a good death when he's resurrected on krakoa, and also why emma using the image of scott after he dies (before krakoa) is an act of love.

i think resurrection in this context is interesting bc its basically unlimited attempts to make that happen. he can endlessly strive for utility. which sucks (for him)! also i think its interesting bc something i think about with scott a lot is kind of that there is no resignation from the x-men. bc of the way marvel comics works, and bc of his role as a character, he will always just be doing this job. and i think resurrection makes that even more true! like, this train doesn't stop buddy, this is your work forever. death is a mild interruption at most.

anyway i agree that you could write this as feeding into his martyr complex in interesting ways.

we also currently have 3 goalies in the ahl. god forbid we have to call them up like we did last year, but the likeliest 3rd goalie is collin delia (new signing, 1yr) bc he has the most pro experience (ahl veteran + some backup time in the nhl). the canucks & dipietro’s agents announced a month ago that dipietro is seeking a trade, he’s an rfa at the end of this season & has taken issue with his development path. silovs is still ‘could be an nhl back-up, def can handle ahl starting’, but not experienced enough + would be bad for his development to be the 3rd for call-ups. i’d put money down that unless spencer martin regresses badly, we’ll have both martin & silovs play through their contracts, see which is more affordable w/ consideration for their stats, then keep the cheaper option, but that’s 2 years down the line
