Regardless of whatever role Zagreus plays mechanically in Hades II (maybe a boss, maybe just a background stroyline), I do know one thing for certain. Zagreus does not know how to do paperwork. Everyone in the House of Hades knows that two. As Zag is probably the only one that can sign in place of his father. Nyx has some authority in many matters, and so does Persephone, but there are still plenty of documents pertaining to the governance of the Land of the Dead that they technically can't handle.
Doesn't mean they're going to let Zagreus flounder though. As soon as it's obvious that Zag needs to step in, the two take over and begin triage of the paperwork. Organizing which ones are most important, which ones can be dealt with quickly. They tell Zagreus what the papers are and where to sign.
Again. Everyone in the House knows. But they know better than to really say anything. Zagreus needs respect. He needs people to listen to him while his father is.... out. So it becomes an open secret. Plausible deniability that everyone can see through but no one would dare challenge.
And so, flanked by two powerful women, Zagreus sits at a desk much to big for him, signs papers he barely understands and listens to the long line of petitioners. He hates it. But it needs to be done. Times does not stop for the dead merely because their master is gone.
Inevitably though, Zagreus breaks. Sometimes there's a warning. Fidgeting in his Father's chair, eyes glazed over. Sometimes there's none. Zagreus just finishes signing a document or gives his statement to the visiting ghost and he's gone before anyone can say or do anything.
Both Nyx and Persephone know where he's gone. They know they won't catch up to hum before he gets his hand on his blade and is out of the palace.
He tears his way through Tartarus and Asphodel, and Elysium. He goes up through the realms and crosses the River Styx to the place where the Land of the Dead becomes the Land of the Living, and only then does he stop.
Zagreus stops and stares. At the rocks. At the glistening water. At the spot where his father is supposed to be, waiting for him. He stands there and stares.
He could go through that stone arch and watch the sun rise over the ocean. Or go a little further and tend to his mother's gardens like he promised her he would, all those years ago.
But he can't. His father isn't here. They haven't fought again. Zagreus didn't win. His father is simply missing. Gone.
Maybe Zagreus stands at that spot his father stood in so many times, looking at the water. Maybe he wonders if he will ever stand here waiting for his own child to come challenge him. He wonders if Hades will be back by then. If Hades will get to see Zag's kids grow up. Or if he'll be trapped with Chronos until they have long since grown.
Eventually, Zagreus turns and leaves. He travels back down to the House of Hades, and takes his place at a desk much to big for him, with a pile of papers and a line of petitioners.

Don't wanna actually try and write and also don't wanna like spam Discord servers w this anymore since I haven't actually written much of it but like. Horticultural Show + the blorbos (sticking under cut bc this is gonna be a long post and also spoilers)
Elliott is AT the show. He spends the whole day happily gardening and swapping tips with people and sharing gardening implements and generally just having an absolutely grand time of it. He has never been more excited about any festival before, and then it just gets DESTROYED. His daughter is there. He knows that they won't escape the glasshouse. The only thing he can do is grab her in his arms and try to shield her from it and shout not to be afraid, to hope that if this all comes down, it will actually make a difference for her. It misses them, mostly, and though he is injured, he ignores it for the time being. There's more important things to be focused on than cracked ribs or likely head trauma--as long as he's upright, he intends to pitch in. He ends up helping with the relief efforts, doing whatever he can to make things work, running triage, helping search parties, directing people--whatever Jenny has for work, he's doing it, because they need all the help they can get. He can't just do nothing, not when the City is falling apart and no one in power is doing anything to stop it. The ship ends up doing what it did during the GCO, serving as a shelter and meeting ground and field hospital for anyone that wanders on board. He's among the exhausted zailors that are clearly out of their depth but are among the numbers that have agreed to give it their all for however long it takes. When it eventually becomes clear that this isn't working, when they finally change the playing field to the air, he is coaxed into helping there, too, even though he is terrified of the dirigibles. He is going to give his life if they ask him to, because the City is worth more than him. If it secures everyone's safety, it's more than worth it. The airship doesn't make it, but they manage to land it safely (more or less) without suffering any casualties (only injuries). He is watching the roof and knows that people he loves are still up there. He doesn't know how this is going to end
Warren is at the show, too, when the stalactite comes down. She knows that something horrible is going on, and she doesn't know what it is, but all she knows is she's petrified and can't run away and her father is grabbing her and shouting in terror not to be scared, and that scares her even more. Whatever it is, he is afraid for his life, and hers too. The stalactite misses her, she's scared but mostly unharmed, and everyone is rushed outside as quickly as possible to get them away from whatever is happening, and the sounds of it are seared into her mind. She is dragged into Parabola briefly, but she won't stay there. Not when everyone she cares about is out there. She does what she can to help, but mostly she huddles with other survivors to keep out of the way. Arthur wishes her a happy birthday, and so does everyone in the room with them when they overhear it. She doesn't feel like it's really much to celebrate, huddled in this building with a bunch of strangers. It isn't exceptionally festive in any case. Someone scrounges together a couple sweets as a gift, an apology that THIS is her party. Elliott wishes a happy birthday to her, too, when she sees him, and seems surprised that it's already Friday. The time is slipping away from him. She doesn't see him much, though. He's constantly busy with work right now, sleeping on the ship during the brief moments he does, and then going right back to work. She feels terribly alone during this except for Arthur, and she would never slight him by implying that he isn't enough, but she is reminded very poignantly of being on the streets with no one but eachother to rely on, and wants some reassurance this won't be the case again. And then everyone is going up, up where she can't go, where she won't go because it's a place for grownups, because she's afraid, because there is the very real chance she won't come back if she does. The missed birthday doesn't feel very important right now, but she is reassured before everyone leaves that they will return for a makeup party. She wants to believe it's true
Arthur hears the sound of the stalactite from home. He doesn't know, but he knows that that's where his kid is. He's running the rooftops in the opposite direction of the urchins fleeing the destruction, and there is the wreckage of the glasshouse. His kid is in there. The pair of them stumble out of the wreckage, and he scrambles up onto her shoulders to purr as hard as he can and reassure her. He's getting them out of here, NOW. There's no time to wait for Elliott--he'll find them, the first priority is getting the kid into Parabola, getting her into his territory where she'll be safe. She won't stay here, and he knows it, but he can keep her here as long as he can. He can prolong the safety as far as he can stretch it before they're back out in the thick of it. He picks through wreckage, bringing back supplies to barter and food to eat, whatever he can get to try and keep them both taken care of. Despite his dislike of him, he's regretful to see Elliott go. He's even more regretful to hear word that the ship's are being destroyed, that only a slim percentage are landing with crew intact enough to revive. He's frightened by the prospect of them having to forge a new family. He's worried about his kid pulling through this
Florence isn't near the glasshouse when it starts, she didn't care about the show at all, but she knows when things start going south. She can hear the destruction and the screaming, and word reaches her quickly of exactly what is happening over there. There are a couple people she checks on, but she's not about to risk her own neck needlessly. She hits the Flit and is up as high as she can get, away from everything that's going on in the streets. And it takes some time, but eventually Jenny gets things moving in the right direction, and they need extra hands, and she considers Jenny her rival, but this is a little more important than her grudge. And then she's running the search parties, and then she's lying when they ask about her qualifications, and then she's captaining an airship she has absolutely no business being behind the wheel of to take surveys. And it's fun! It's exciting! It feels good to be doing something that might actually help, and, she must admit, it's thrilling to be piloting a dirigible at inadvisable speeds and hurtling between stalactites and dodging obstacles (geographic and organic alike). And then she hears the plan. She receives her orders and they say "you're going to push ahead and take it on directly" and suddenly this is very very real. Suddenly these people's lives are in her hands while she's playing pretend, and she can't back out now, but what is she supposed to do? So she goes. They rise with the others, and she pushes through, and as soon as she sees the oculus, everything is brought into sharp focus. This is more real than she was prepared for. That shaft of light falls, and it's the first time she's ever seen the Sun. It is unimaginably bright, searing her eyes and forcing her to flinch and put a hand up to shield herself from it. That is going to kill everyone. The cannons keep glancing off of it, and everyone around them is going down. THEY'RE going down. So she looks at the handful of people in the ship with her and all she can say is "I'm sorry" before pointing the wreckage straight at the certain doom ahead of them. The woman that wouldn't risk her neck for anyone is aiming straight for certain death in the hopes that it will mean something. That it will save the City she hadn't thought worth saving just a couple weeks ago. And when the Boat Man confirms it did something--that plan WORKED--she is beside herself. She is screaming in absolute, overwhelming joy, shaking the Starved Lithologer by the shoulders and reaching to do the same to the Boat Man. She hasn't been an urchin or a zailor's wife for a long time, but that doesn't mean she doesn't remember the shanties and stupid songs they riffed off of Mahogany Hall classics, and her celebration doesn't end when she's back in London proper
The Surgeon is busy when the festivities roll around, and all the better for it. Sitting in a building full of strangers and spore fever isn't exactly his idea of a good time. But there is no denying the sounds that erupt from the site are the kind of utter destruction. The sounds like a fraction of the next City is dropping. He's disgusted to hear it's Starved, their amber tainted presence a blight upon the City. Truthfully, he doesn't care to lend a hand, but he knows Shale does, and anything they want of him is theirs. So he opens the doors of his clinic as another spot to bring the wounded for treatment, distinctly aware of the scars that arc across his chest reacting to the presence of the amber and its bearers. The body never forgets. He doesn't do anything with the airships--that isn't his skill set, and he doesn't intend to risk his own safety or anyone else's by going up there and deciding to try and figure it out on the fly. There is enough work on the ground to keep him busy while other people decide to be heroes
Bolormaa didn't even intend to still be in London, but he's at the Docks when the stalactite falls. They can see it from there, see it plummeting towards the glasshouse and the people within it, and instantly the whole ship is disembarking and sprinting towards it, with him leading the pack. He's dragging people out of the rubble and away from danger, and hoping the entire time that none of these people who are beyond salvaging are ones that he cares about. He is among the first to enlist with the Admiralty to serve as their gunners, using his expertise with a cannon to the great advantage of everyone who doesn't want to see London torn to pieces as much in its defense as in its attack. He is unsure of how long he's at his post, training new people on the fly and keeping at it himself, but he is occasionally dragged away from his station to snatch a little bit of rest before he's right back to it. He doesn't have much sway back at home, he isn't an important political figure, but he sends a letter in Hudum nonetheless imploring them to send support. He doesn't love London. He isn't even sure he likes it. But that doesn't mean that everyone in it deserves to have their homes destroyed and their lives lost. When they ask for help on the airships, he's again one of the first enlisting. They need all the help they can get if they're trying to take the oculus out, missed shots don't count. When the airship starts going down, he fires off one last shot that pings off of it but doesn't do any damage. He knows the only choice is to try and land and hope that whoever is up there can come up with a better plan
Rhoda is in the Shuttered Palace when everything happens--she is in the middle of the horribly dull hobnobbing expected of her at these awful salons, when suddenly the world outside seems to be crashing down upon them. The doors lock so suddenly she doesn't even have time to register what it means, instead pressed to the windows like the other guests, trying to catch a glimpse of what it is. Nobody gets in, and nobody gets out. People who come to the Palace to beg for help are turned away without an audience, without even a shred of hope, and she's so filled with rage and disgust at the lack of any care from inside, that she shatters a window to the outside. She watches in horror at everything happening out there. There are innocent people out there. Her brother is out there. She bides her time in a frenzy of sketches of new ideas for arrangements, fungal and elegant, and then into the grotesque forms of the creatures mutilating the City. The Palace may be well stocked, but it can only hold out for so long. The first time a supply run is made, she's ready. She bolts, taking the cart with her and getting it to Jenny's headquarters where it will be defended by people who deserve to use it. She doesn't know a d___ed thing about flying, she doesn't attempt to join the airships, but that doesn't mean that she isn't busy. There is work to be done until the last plank is put up, the last injury healed, the last ship landed. This isn't her City, she doesn't love London, but she does love the people within it. It's up to its citizens to defend it themselves, and she watches with anxiety to see what happens next

The pair of them for Triage and Parrot
Triage:
"Am I being a burden asking for things from her? Haven't I had her do enough? I should do something for her instead... but I don't know what. I've never been good at giving back. What do I give? I guess I'd give her a 'break' by not adding onto her work time...
Is this what having a mom feels like, I wonder... I heard her described like a mom a few times. If a robot can be a mom, I think I'd like that. If I had to pick an option. Not that I can right now. Just... a hypothetical."
It better be just a hypothetical... Listen, it ain't gonna work out. I bet she still thinks what happened before can happen again. Seems like the type to look for liabilities like that, and who are we if not one whole walkin' liability?
I'll let her fix our bot though. I don't wanna admit we have to have someone else do it... but once I watch her do it I'll know how to do it and then we don't have to again! It's that easy.
Parrot:
"Aha... that was fun. She makes flying look so easy. Wish I could show her how the Wave Roads work, but I don't know how I'd do that. And... that'd mean I'd have to be Gemini Spark around her again, right. I don't think I should do that.
I hope we meet up again soon, I swear there's some kinda energy she can spread to me without even trying...! She acts like nothing bad ever happened between us. I wonder if that's what she thinks all the time. I don't deserve how nice she is. I don't. I really don't. I-"
Here we go again...
...I wish we found a winged robot that was, like, a bat or somethin' instead. That'd be cool. I know Pat agrees with me that robots are way better than people, but I'm starting to think some of these guys are pushing it... I'm sick of all the hugging.

happy to see you back (sorta) and that you are ok! I'd love to hear your thoughts on shows and what you're looking forward to, but no pressure :) whatever works best for you
HIIIII hello happy to be back (sorta)!! I have about 9 months worth of show to review so I'll give them a grade out of 5 and I'll try to be brief with any comments lol I haven't scrolled through my dashboard on here in ages so I have no clue what everyone thought about them!
Under a read more because it's literally an essay
WATCHED (in some sort of chronological order)
-To my star s2: 3.5/5
I think I need to rewatch it already and binge it because following it weekly was extremely frustrating to me and I feel like I might have been too harsh on my judgement. Everything about Jiwoo's choices and actions seemed extremely irrational to me and it was a struggle to watch. It might make more sense if I watch all of it at once again though. It was still well made, well acted and well produced so at least there's that.
-Roommates of Poongduck 304: 5/5
I am EXTREMELY biased about this show because I've been obsessed with this pairing since Kissable Lips (camp masterpiece, I feel like nobody gets it the way I do) and I was sooooo happy to see them again with different characters. I honestly loved the show, I feel like it was using a lot of common kdrama tropes as opposed to the usual bl tropes and it was so fun to me. The pace felt great, the characters and their motives made sense, the chemistry was so great... That said I need everyone to go vote for Jiwoong on Boys Planet because being an idol has been his dream and his goal for ages and he finally deserves a GOOD chance
-Triage: 4/5
I had started this back when it was airing but I was missing a few episodes and I have to say I am pleased with it. It had some weird pacing issues and that's why I wouldn't give it a full 5/5 but the plot was very interesting and engaging. I would definitely recommend it.
-Love mechanics: 4.5/5
I was very unfortunately a love mechanics (2020) enjoyer and veemark have a hold on me so I had to watch it and it was definitely better than the original one. They fixed some of the plot issues and the longer run time allowed them to give the characters more depth. It did feel slightly repetitive or slow at times but the actors are so good that I didn't even mind.
-Vice versa: 3/5
Very cool concept, I was a bit worried about it at first but I enjoyed the plot. My main issues were with the pacing (it felt way too slow at times) and I wasn't completely sold on the romance/chemistry either. The way the parallel universe rules were explained felt a bit lame, having someone just straight up tell them how it works while I was hoping they'd have to figure things out together. I have to say i LOVED the small details they used to define the other universe like the transparent paper or the different food, it was a fun extra element that highlighted they were strangers there. I honestly don't remember too much else of this show which means it wasn't a standout to me.
-The Eclipse: 4/5
THE ACTINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I was so obsessed. The plot got a bit lost but wow I loooooooved the brainwashed school prefect slowly realizing he's being manipulated by the people in power. That was GOOD. I liked the characters more than the plot they ended up with. The trailer was overpromising in that regard, I was expecting a full on mystery/possible scifi elements but it got sidetracked and lost itself. The final episodes when they're shooting the movie make no sense to me. It still gets a 4 because of the main couple, both characters and actors.
-Kieta Hatsukoi: 5/5
I had not seen this before and I finally caught up and wow it is as good as they say. Genuinely heartwarming and wholesome, i LOOOOOOVE the friendships, the OST is so good omg it was so sweet and funny. I already want to rewatch it, it's in the same category as Light On Me for cute slowburn with wholesome friendships
-The director who buys me dinner: 1.5/5
Honestly it's a 1.5 because the plot is somewhat interesting but it did NOT deliver at all. The short episodes might have been the first hindrance to fully developing the storyline but the weird idol with a bad attitude side character subplot took up way too much time. The flashbacks felt rushed and hard to follow, I think Tinted With You had tried something similar but in my opinion they had managed the pacing and plot way better. This is one of those webcomic adaptations that gets destroyed by the short running time and low budget unfortunately. If it ever got remade properly I'd be interested though.
-Cutie Pie 2 You: 2.5/5
It started out better than s1 and then I sort of lost interest and remembered why I didn't like s1. SO much wasted potential. I only tuned in to see Nuer and Syn and they did not disappoint (I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED their spicy scene, god it was so awkward and honest and true and still managed to be hot) but I wish they'd gotten more screen time. Please give them a spinoff! The whole wedding fiasco was so boring, the comedy did not land well this time, how do you manage to have so much filler content in a 4 episode special is beyond me
-Between Us: 4/5
Oh the UWMA nostalgia hit so hard with this one. It was exactly what it should have been and slightly better than I was expecting (I think New's directing has improved over the years). Seeing Pharm, Team and Manaow together again made me so happy, my best friends. When the original ost started playing at the end I might have sobbed. I spent the whole time screaming for Team to get theraphy and stop trying to actively trigger his PTSD but he wouldn't listen. I had read the novel and I was a bit worried about the adaptation but I think they managed to capture the sense of comfort and safetly that Win provides to Team very well. Even the misunderstandings and the repressed feelings weren't too frustrating except for one or two instances. I even managed to enjoy the new side couple, Prince is SO CUTE!!!!!!!!! Man I just love characters who are sure about their identity and have been for a long time.
-The New Employee: 3.5/5
Cute. Nicely acted. Adored the flashbacks to university and the friendships. Plot wasn't anything too exceptional and it seems like they ran out of it 4 episodes in. Just okay
-Individual Circumstances: 2/5
The past few months have not been a happy time for kbls. They seem to be going for quantity over quality and they've been falling flat. I think the parallel between the story and the novel being written are the only interesting thing about this show, but they're also so obvious they don't really help saving it. I zoned out so bad I can't even remember why they had broken up in the first place. Were they even together? The low budget was also a heavy weight here, it just wasn't good.
-Gap: 2.5/5
I struggled rating this because it has some high highs and some low lows. I just wasn't vibing with the plot, i know the title is literally GAP and the show is about the gap in age, power, etc between them but god it got so repetitive and frustrating I couldn't really take it seriously anymore. Things I liked: Freen's acting, i think she did a great job portraying Sam. I liked Sam's character a lot, her awkwardness and apparent coldness and how she tried to break free from the manipulative power her grandma had over her. I think she was very interesting and layered and well acted. Another thing I liked were the intimacy scenes. I wasn't expecting much but I found them to be very well done, the chemistry was good and they felt very realistic. I don't think they were overdone and honestly we needed some lesbian sex to restore the balance after 5000000 bls. Cons are literally everything else, the people at the office and Sam's friends all felt like comic relief caricatures with no depth, Kirk was absolutely unsufferable. I'm only saving Tee and Yuki who I am hoping will get a spin off because I SAW THEM... I heard that baby in the last episode... How did they sacrifice such an interesting side couple for what? 10 minutes of extremely pointless Saint screen time? As a lesbian, (this is my excuse as to why this got so long)
-My school president: 5/5 10/10 1000/1000 <3/<3
WOW!!!! I was expecting less than nothing because the trailer had not prepared me. I thought it would be yet another boring high school slow burn with unexperienced actors but instead we got this amazing gem. I am SO happy I gave it a chance, it had my attention right from episode 1 and it was my motivation to get to the end of each weekend. Gemini and Fourth are incredible!!!! It was such a wholesome show about frienships and growing up together and being supportive. I loved every minute of it. THE MUSIC!! oh my god the music!!!!!!!!! Both the original songs and the bgm were so on point, I am so obsessed with all the tracks. I am usually not a fan of slow burn but if it's like this then I am all for it. The characters are clear about their feelings a few episodes in already and then it's more of a self imposed boundary that they keep pushing and pushing and that tension is just so much fun to witness. Honestly GMM was on fire these past few months, all my favorite shows were from them and it seems like they've been listening to some feedback unless it was a coincidence that all the good shows ended up airing at the same time lol
-The warp effect: 4/5
I am so confliced about this show. Everything about it is a full 5/5 for me except for Alex's character (and Army not shutting up ever). I'm trying not to spoil the ending because it's only been a week since it aired but it's hard to explain what I liked and what I didn't like about it lol. I guess I liked how the time skip worked but, while for most of the show it felt like it was an ensemble cast narration, the ending really does remind us that after all Alex is the main character. The side characters and their subplots were all interesting and varied and felt very refereshing for GMM standards (except for Army constantly outing Joe, I get that they were trying to portray him as someone very sure and proud of his identity and a bit slow at understanding others but man... they were really forcing his character to get some drama between them). Spent a solid bunch of time rooting for a Jean/Kat couple only for it to get adressed in canon and get laughed at so I quickly and bitterly gave up and accepted they were never going to be anything but straight. The more we found out about Alex and Jean's first time the more horrified I was, I did NOT want that Alex to ever be dating her so I was scared they'd put them together anyway since they're main leads. The actual ending was a compromise I can accept but still... Not ideal. If only there was a magical camera to send all idiots forward in time to witness the damage they've done...
-Moonlight Chicken: 10000000/5
A masterpiece!!! Legendary!!!! Everything I've ever wanted and more!!! There was nothing I didn't like? Not a single thing I can think of? Maybe just Alan being overly bitter and mean but oh well assholes exist everywhere. I went in with zero expectations because the trailer had made it seem like it would be all about cheating, as soon as I found out there would be no cheating involved I dropped all my reserves and was on board 100%. EarthMix were perfect and delightful, they're just so good together and their characters worked very well as a pairing. Surprisingly slow burn seeing how ep 1 part 1 starts. I like that Wen's job is shown a lot and he actually has real tasks to do that someone in his position would do (him answering emails at the temple really got to me lol). The atmosphere the setting the lighting the colors... Just gorgeous. AND THE SIDE COUPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE don't even get me started on Li Ming and Heart. Wow. Getting double GeminiFourth for a few weeks was such a treat, 3 days in a row of them delivering incredible performances (their first kisses lining up on the two shows was just adorable).
-Never let me go: ?/5
I sort of dropped this one? I was following it weekly up until ep 4 or 5 and then it lost me. The pacing was way too off and they had weird audio issues. The editing as well was bothering me, with really long closeups with nothing happening and similar issues. The plot wasn't interesting or new enough to keep me interested. I might finish it now that most of the shows I was following have ended.
CURRENTLY WATCHING
-Bed Friend:
I started this for two reasons: I will be tuning in for its spinoff since it's TutorYim AND I've been hearing about this show possibily getting made for the past 3 years. I remember when people wanted it to go to SaintZee (rip) so I wanted to check it out and I see what they meant. James has Saint energy, I won't elaborate. It's definitely as explicit as a show about friends with benefits should be lol I hope they can develop the romance aspect nicely and I hope it won't stem soley from King trying to "fix" Uea. The flashbacks to Uea's past are rather alarming (another instance of me screaming GET THERAPHY at him every time he's on screen) and I'm hoping there won't be too many more insances of them. As if the abusive mother wasn't enough? It feels too tropey to send all these bad "punishments" his way because he's an explicitly gay character.
-A Boss and a Babe:
Here comes another fully biased review, I couldn't not watch this as an avid ForceBooker. Only one episode in so there is not too much to say but honestly I am on board with ANYTHING from them. It's directed by New so I am prepared to be let down at some point but they could seriously just show me 60 minutes of Force's face and I wouldn't mind. I'm excited because it did not look slow burn-y at all and that fills my heart with joy. I like office romance comedies so much what can I say. I KNOW Cher looks like an absolute dumbass but I know there's a brain in there. He's so cute he'll never get on my nerves. I will fight every single person on MDL to defend Book and his acting, I don't care.
LOOKING FORWARD TO
-Our Skyy 2: STACKED LINEUP. More PhuTian and more PatPran are a dream come true, a blessing, a gift etc. Please air soon I need to water my crops. I am honestly excited for all couples (I just need to catch up on never let me go I guess), give me that little extra content to boost my serotonin and PLEASE BE GOOD
-23.5: MILKLOVEEEEEEEEE I also really really want this to be good because it has so much potential please please please. Happy about more GeminiFourth as well, and Ford too! He did so well on My School President, I need to see more of him.
-Middleman's love: TutorYim. TutorYim. TutorYim. TutorYim.
-Only Friends: I am hoping this will be a BL version of friend zone with a more grown up writing. Stellar cast again so I am very intrigued. (I've been affectionately referring to it as the gmm horny show)
-Last Twilight: could be a big hit or a big miss depending on how they handle it. I am very curious and a bit hopeful after seeing Moonlight Chicken
-The Next Prince: I think I'll end up hating this one but the trailer was so dreamy, straight out of a royalty AU. The truth is I believe Nunew should be the next global idol and singing a few OSTs for his bls + the occasional youtube cover isn't the way to go. (I am sort of joking, of course if he's happy doing this then it's not an issue at all) (IDK why Wabi Sabi sent their actors (Yacht especially, wtf) on a Korean survival and Nunew is still shackled to Zee)
-Absolute Zero: I feel like this will be a disaster. It sounds interesting on paper but I have zero faith they'll do it justice. Please prove me wrong
-The Korean Why R U remake: I feel like I am contractually obliged to tune in since the original show is what made me who I am today as a person. I have serious doubts this will work the same magic on me.
-About a hundred new Kbls (I truly can't keep up and I end up skipping most of them unless someone I trust really recommends me one at this point)
-Rumored season 2 of blueming? Rumored season 2 of Kissable Lips???????
I think that's all for now (lol) I swear to never take another 9 month break because this recap took me 2 full hours to write

hi hello! do you know more bls setting in an office? or like bls with older protagonists than usual? thanks!
hello, anon!!
i do know a fair amount of BLs with older protagonists, even if 'old' in BL standard often means just late 20s or barely out of university, but at least we're actually getting more of them in these past couple of years. im not sure which ones you've already watched, so i just compiled everything into a masterlist. it's not a comprehensive one, because there are a lot of BLs i haven't watched yet, and i left out the ones currently airing, but hopefully you'll find something you haven't seen yet!!
(i also mention where you can watch the shows, but always remember these random letters that mean nothing at all: d r a m a c o o l)
OFFICE SETTING
be loved in house: i do [on Viki] – i LOVED the first half of this show, but it kinda fell flat for me in the second half, maybe because they put way too much focus on the ex, but it’s still a nice show and aaron and hank’s chemistry is great.
cherry magic [it's not available in my area but you can find it on WeTV or Crunchyroll] – japan does office setting SO WELL and this show will always be one of my favorite BLs.
history 4: close to you [on Viki] – would i personally recommend this show? not…. really……….. it wasn't really my thing tbh, but im trying to be fair and i do know some people who really like it, so im just gonna put it out there and let you decide. however, WARNINGS for the side pairing: step-brothers trope, obsession, VERY dubious consent.
old fashion cupcake [on Viki] – TALENTED. BRILLIANT. INCREDIBLE. AMAZING. SHOWSTOPPING. SPECTACULAR. NEVER THE SAME. TOTALLY UNIQUE.
plus & minus [on Viki] – there’s something off about this show that i can’t quite put my finger on. just like with be loved in house: i do, i really enjoyed the beginning of the show, but i feel like the second half simply wasn’t as good. still, it’s a nice show, and the chemistry between the leads is very good.
senpai, this can’t be love! [on Viki] – it’s not my favorite BL from japan, but i still found it pretty cute (i do have a massive crush on naito shuichiro, though, so i may be a little bit biased ;;;;)
there are also a couple of shows that have university as their main setting in the first season, and then move on to an office setting in the second, such as:
SOTUS S – haven't watched SOTUS in 4 years so my memories of the show are a bit fuzzy, especially for this second season, but i used to be incredibly fond of it
we best love: fighting mr. 2nd – i'd recommend both seasons of this show even just for the chemistry between sam and yu, which is out of this world
COUNTRYSIDE SETTING
a tale of thousand stars [on YouTube] – i have no idea why it took me so long to finally watch this because it's AMAZING, one of the best BLs i've ever seen.
sky in your heart [on YouTube] – this is actually part of the star & sky series, where the first installment has a university setting, but i don't think you necessarily have to watch star in my mind to understand sky in your heart. a lot of people disliked this show, but honestly? i've seen worse and i think the pairing was cute
CRIME GENRE
guess i have a weakness for this genre because all of these are MY MOST BELOVEDESTS so. i won't even pretend to not be biased about them.
history 3: trapped [on Viki]
kinnporsche [on iQIYI]
manner of death [on WeTV]
HOSPITAL SETTING
triage [it's on AIS Play, but since they hate international fans you can find it on our best friend /drama/cool/] – okay, so, TECHNICALLY one of the main characters and his friends are still in university, so there is that setting in the story, BUT!!! the show is so much more than that!!! there are hospital stuff, and crime stuff, and TIME LOOPS!!!!!!! so yeah, if it wasn’t clear, I LOVE THIS SHOW.
dear doctor, i’m coming for soul [on Youtube] – the show has its shortcomings but i am so fond of this one..
my ride [on GagaOOLala] – such a sweet and gentle show, it also features the best couple of older gay uncles which all BLs should have more of imho. i love this one dearly.
KITCHEN SETTING
to my star [on Viki] – i guess putting this under kitchen setting is a bit of a stretch, but since food was a big part of the show i thought it could fit here ;;;;;; i have yet to see to my star 2 because that’s not the kind of angst i enjoy, but season 1 is still one of my favorite BLs from korea.
what zabb man! [on YouTube] – THIS WAS A NICE SHOW OKAY. like, was it ridiculous at times? absolutely. did i still enjoy it? yes. yes, i did.
ocean likes me [on Viki] – i have no idea why so many people disliked this show so fiercely, but maybe im just biased towards han gi chan, holland, and pretty shots of the ocean.
bite me [on Viki] – this show was SO. SLOW. i personally finished it only out of stubborness, but yeah, still putting it out there.
craving you [on Viki] – there’s nothing particularly memorable about this show, imho, but since im doing a sort of masterlist it wouldn’t be fair to leave it out.
my sweet dear [on Viki] – not my favorite out of all the BLs from korea, but they’re so short there’s really no harm in watching it.
the tasty florida [on Viki] – same as above.
OTHERS
cupid's last wish [on Youtube] – i haven't watched this one yet because im not fond of the main trope, but i may cave in and watch it just for earthmix.
even sun [on Youtube] – would i recommend this show? no, it was a mess from beginning to end and had no real substance to it. did i still laugh my ass off every week and would personally rewatch it? yeah..
lovely writer [on Youtube] – technically one of the characters is still in university but the setting doesn't come up in the story. i feel like people either deeply dislike this show or really like it. i think it's nice honestly, but i should definitely rewatch it now that i know more about BLs.
the untamed [on Viki] – technically this is not a BL because of chinese censorship, but it is based on a BL novel and it still shows.
a lot of other korean BLs have grown up characters in them, like behind cut, first love again, nobelman ryu's wedding, oh! boarding house [all on Viki]

Current watchlist (August 15, 2023)
Time for a little update because I've been watching some stuff including Barbenheimer and I need to inform y'all that this might become an Only Friends brainrot blog
Currently watching : Till the End of the Moon (ep 34, I am so close to the end yet so far, I love the show but all the twists have somewhat tired me), Neon Genesis Evangelion (ep 8, my roommate got me into it and it's beautiful but painful, like everyone promised), La Pluie (ep 12, wtf happened there I do not like the direction this is taking I hate the characters now), Avatar the Last Airbender season 2 (ep 1, really I've just finished season 1 and I've loved it), Only Friends (ep 1, need I say more ? It's going to be so good, my expectations are high) Edit : as of tonight, The Warp Effect (ep 1, I needed another show by Jojo to wait while Only Friends air and this is shaping up to be very fun and refreshing)
Tumblr media
Just finished : Bed Friend (that one was on pause for a while, the show had its good moments for sure and it's annoying ones), Triage (I like the concept, wasn't convinced by the chemistry), Hidden Love (binged the 25 episodes in one day, this Chinese show is so damn cute, made me cry and smile), I-LAND (watched only 3 years late but hey I'll be ready for season 2 ! Still not an Enhypen Stan but definitely in love with a few members haha)
Tumblr media
Movies recently watched : Blanquita (4*, terrible look at sexual violence by the powerful against the marginalized in Chile and the true story of trying to seek justice), Oppenheimer (4*, clearly a Hollywood movie and not a documentary, but a very good movie), Barbie (3*, a fun time, I actually laughed a lot and very good for what it wants to be)
Tumblr media
On pause : Tomorrow (the friend I was watching it with got me into I-LAND so that was my main focus)
Tumblr media
To watch : Good Omens season 2 (I want to so bad but I'm scared of the emotional damage), Heartstopper (still haven't watched though I'm sure I'd love it), Drag Race France season 2 (I have somehow not started), Love me if you dare (I tried to watch this TW-drama back when it came out in 2015, I found it boring and dropped it but people keep raving about it), Strange Way of Life (the new Almodovar movie seems to be about gay cowboys and violence with Pedro Pascal, need I say more)

It's me, literally sprinting into your Asks! ❤️
Can we have a taste of:
Ethan/Casey
Mr. & Mrs. Ramsey
OPH Cancer (I hope it is not what I think it is!)
Thank you! 🥰
Lin! Eep!💜 Thank you so much for sending me the Ask for the WIP game! I'm so nervous, but hopefully something will pique your interesting. lol
Also, keep in mind: these titles are awful. They're almost like my own personal titles to remind me of the fics, so hopefully they haven't been too misleading. LOL
Warning: Long Post...
Ethan/Casey
Someone sent me an Ask last week about Ethan and Tatum's attraction if Ethan was still with Casey when Tatum was hired, and then someone (maybe the same person) asked if I could write something about that. Well, this got away from me, and I developed this AU of my HC, and I'm hoping to have this as a miniseries for October! Here's a snippet:
"And over here are the charts of the new arrivals," Casey pivots back to her new batch of interns. Her arms are outstretched as if she's the Vanna White of medicine, guiding them on a tour of the emergency room. "Remember, folks, every patient needs to be triaged–" she freezes as she watches a familiar tall blonde at the nurse's station, thumb through all the charts. "Um… they need to be triaged within thirty minutes," she hurries through her instructions before holding up a finger. "Just a minute, guys."
Casey walks up to the desk, inquisitively observing the woman. Even under the fluorescent lights, her platinum highlights perfectly shine, her waves bouncing effortless on her shoulders. Her scarlet wrap dress hugs her curves beautifully, and her patent-leather nude pumps show off the musculature of her calves, those thick thighs, and–
The stranger clears her throat, Casey painfully aware of the warm flush crawling across her cheeks as her eyes dart from the shapely woman's backside to her face.
Without looking facing towards the diagnostician, the curious stranger continues to pull folders. "I'll be done in a minute," she nods to the registration desk, "you can finish undressing me with your eyes over there.’
Does she not remember me?
~🖤~
Mr. & Mrs. Ramsey
Did you ever see Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt? Long story short, they are a married couple who have no clue that the other has a secret assassin life until their agencies pin them head-to-head to chase after a specific hit. In turns into a dangerously sexy good time.
With the overturning of Roe v. Wade fresh on our minds here (removing not only autonomy for women, but appropriate healthcare for women), one of my writing friends shared with me how she would love to see an AU where Tatum is this underground abortionist, secretly saving lives. I thought it was a hilariously genius idea (even though Massachusetts is luckily a more progressive state).
So for this story, it's just that. Tatum is part of an underground abortion ring, and Ethan has no idea. Not much has been written, but here's a snippet:
The sweet, maple aroma of thick-cut bacon wafts throughout the pristine townhome. As she scrambles some egg whites for herself, Tatum carefully prepares two over-easy yolks for her husband as she toasts an artisan loaf for their breakfast.
“Mmmm,” Ethan bounds into the kitchen, a sports coat tucked over his forearm. “Something smells delicious in here.” He hastily grabs his mug of brewed coffee, but stops for a brief moment to brush a peck on his wife’s cheek while she carefully shimmies his delicate eggs onto a plate.
“Would you like for me to butter your toast, sweetheart?” She sweetly croons, a doting smile warming her early-morning expression.
“I think I can manage that, thank you, darling.”  Ethan collects his plate, stealing the delivered morning newspaper and hoarding it under his arm. Making himself comfortable at the breakfast nook on the island of the kitchen, he takes a bite of bacon before fanning out the oversized-paper to catch up with the news.
Tatum quietly fixes her coffee, but as she stirs in her hazelnut creamer, a large bold font on the front page startles her: Feds Confirm Underground Abortion Ring in Kinsington County; GOP Outraged. She coolly takes a sip of her smooth Arabica roast, her eyes shifting from the headline to Ethan, and then back again. “How are your eggs, sweetheart?”
“Perfect,” he answers, his eyes trained to the text before looking up to give her an appeasing smile.
“Perfect,” she offers an ostensible grin.
~🖤~
OPH Cancer
Unfortunately, this is exactly what you think it is. There was a prompt going around several months ago about "My love comes with a lifetime guarantee" ... and because I'm me, this angst was born from it.
This is from the POV of Tatum. It's several months after she gives birth, and she finds a lump in her breast. I haven't written much of this one either, but here's a snippet:
I get it.
Physicians like myself go to great lengths to create safe spaces, special offices developed to establish a calm atmosphere for effective communication while discussing emotional health concerns. These meeting rooms are ideal when patients and loved ones need to make tough, well-thought out medical decisions. You know the type: a comfortable chaise lounge; soft sounds from a noise machine, like a babbling brook or a rainstorm; low and soothing ambient lighting–none of the fluorescent bullshit that makes you look sick.
Because you are sick.
But, beyond the perfectly polished wood, the infusion of essential oils in the air and the crisp cucumber water for enjoyment, being in this seat, the patient’s seat, is terrifying.
~🖤~
Thanks again, girlie!

Hi, hey, hello. So, not sure if many people would have noticed, cause let's be honest, I am a person who could fly under the radar depending on the situation. But, I haven't been as active on here as of late and that was not intentional. Nonetheless, I wanted to give my mutuals a little update.
To be honest, this year hasn't been my year at all. In the literal first month of the year, I had an autistic meltdown the day after seeing Dan Howell's 'We're All Doomed' show. Reason? I have no concrete reason. My only theory is that as a person, Dan means a lot to me. If I am correct, I was 15 when I first started watching him and Phil (through a recommendation of a friend). So, seeing him live, years after watching his videos and seeing The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire live, it made me realise how time flew by and how things have changed. Also me intensifying it when I realised I had gotten rid of the merch from The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire (some in which I found replacements for). That's only my theory though.
Then potentially having close calls with two more, due to going to Harry Styles concert (like with Dan Howell, I was a big fan of Harry when One Direction was still around) and going to Comic Con (been going since I was like 14 or 15).
Halfway through semester one of this year, I realised that I had to make changes to my access plan to allow for extensions for an extra five days on all individual assignments due to me thinking I had submitted an assessment late (which with confirmation from the lecturer, I hadn't). Which also leads to this semester, in which I broke down cause I had to do a presentation and in my access plan, I get to do an alternative cause I get too nervous to stand up in front of class. The lecturer hadn't acknowledged it and I had to correct her for it (she later apologised for it and claimed that she didn't get the access plan, which doesn't make sense to me cause she is the unit coordinator).
The beginning of semester, I had begun to experience what I originally thought was a heart issue (cause I have a family history with heart issues) but turned about to be a very curable bacteria in which I took antibiotics for. The pain did go but it was come and go since early august. But that time it had migrated to my arm and neck, which my brain automatically jumped to heart issues again (which proven wrong once again at the hospital) or fibromyalgia (which I know it's not). Which leads to now, waiting for my triage appointment with a counsellor for possible anxiety/stress that is possibly causing physical pain and is caused by a situation at university which I will not say cause it's very distressing.
And the overall state of the world is most likely not helping either.
So, yeah. There was a personal update. I might delete this later cause it was done in the heat of the moment.

Library Triage!
I have a reading triage on deck, but first I gotta plow through my actual mother-of-god-how-do-they-multiply-so-fast library checkouts first to try and make sense of them all (27!! with like. at least 10 active requests and/or books I'm gonna pull off the shelf tomorrow)
DVDs I Checked Out For Circ Numbers And/Or Have Watched And Can Return Any Time Now: 6 (CSI Vegas; Hours; Anywhere But Here; Little Women PBS version; La Brea S2; Doctor Who S10 -- i assure you this last one was pure circ numbers)
Books Ready to Return: 2 (Miss Nelson is Missing - checked out purely by chance for funsies and circ numbers when I saw it; The Runaway's Diary graphic novel)
Books I Have Read But Am Keeping 'Til I Write Reviews: 2 (The Last Bookseller; Home Before Dark)
CDs Out: 2 (one Maddie & Tae as a fun option to have in the car; one Loreena McKennitt, although honestly that one is probably ready to go back; Lost Souls didn't grab me)
---------
Other DVDs Out: 10 (!!) (listen I am Going Hard on my vow to single-handedly prove physical media still has value to patrons and the library should not consider eliminating it. there has been no actual discussion of this but I see the DVD section shrinking, I see it!!)
Marley & Me: this WAS just for circ numbers but now I'm looking at it like "oh yeah this movie is amazing actually" and I've kinda been on an Owen Wilson kick this year, so maybe I should actually watch it first.
2-4. Scott & Bailey, S3-5: these were ALSO just for circ numbers but then I remembered I actually do like this show and it's weird I never got past S2*...so I've watched S3 and now I kind of want to finish, and also want to keep them all out so they can be returned and easily reshelved together. (*i also realized one episode into S3 that I may not have actually gotten past 2x03? but oh well no looking back; I hated those 3 episodes so SURGING FORWARD)
5. Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor: I! Will! Watch! It! (ONE of these times it's gotta actually go through...)
6. Doctor Who: Series 11 (Thirteen my beloved!! What if...what IF I wanted to randomly start)
7. Doctor Who: The Animation Collection: "WHAT U MEAN GEORGIA TENNANT VOICED A (non-Jenny) COMPANION CHARACTER IN ONE OF THESE FEATURING TEN I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW EXISTED." and I thought I might revisit Infinite Quest while I'm at it, though I have thus far done neither.
8. Good Omens: when you finish S2 and are immediately like "I need the option to revisit season 1 right now, in a way where you can easily skip around to favorite parts in the episodes in VLC instead of struggling through the laggy Amazon Prime interface," but now it's been over a month and you haven't actually opened the case. but you still might. (I should probably throw in the towel huh)
9. Around the World in 80 Days: oh yeah. forgot I started this. (Suranne Jones and the rest of the lady police gang are very distracting ok)
10. Broadchurch, S3: originally for circ numbers and then I remembered I actually never got around to this season (but am still excited to! eventually!)
-------
Other Books Out: 5
1. Cabin Tripping: mostly a coffee table book, beautiful photos based on the Instagram of the same name with a bit of text. I wanted to look through it properly and use it to get myself in the mood for the RV / road trip books I was considering reading, but I think those have receded into the temporary background so I should probably send this back as well. temporarily.
2. Gilmore Girls: The Official Cookbook: have I watched more than 3 full episodes of this show in my life? still no. but since dollsome-does-tumblr's tumblr has given me almost all the information I could possibly need about this show, I feel like I know it and ever since I randomly saw this on the library shelf, I have been obsessed with the entire vibe and aesthetic of this oversized book and its mouthwatering photos and can't stop paging through it. (have I tried making any of the recipes? also definitely no) (would that I had a personal chef or at least a talented local friend!)
3. The Little Book of Hygge: this is at least the third hygge book I have checked out on a whim but can't actually read because I just get too overwhelmed by how cute and cozy the mere idea is. But that won't stop me clinging to it with a death grip 'til my renewals run out.
4. Good as Gold - Candace Buford: oh finally an actual novel i might actually read (if I don't get distracted by my GIANT INCOMING STACK, considering I checked this out a full month ago). I am actually very excited by the prospect of this YA novel about searching for a lost treasure of local legend (to pay for college). I don't honestly know why I haven't yet!
5. Lessons From Tara: Life Advice From the World's Most Brilliant Dog - David Rosenfelt: A Goodreads friend read this, which reminded me how much I loved Dogtripping and wanted to read more stories about his big fluffy dogs. Which led me to learn there is only one copy of this 2015 release left at my library so whoops, gotta show interest (and ideally even read it?) before it disappears.

Half a Heart
An OH alternate universe where Casey Valentine got into Mass Kenmore Hospital's resident program instead, but she ends up meeting Ethan Ramsey anyway.
Pairing: Ethan Ramsey X Casey Valentine (MC)
Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Summary: Casey runs into a car crash on her way to her apartment less than a day before her first shift as Mass Kenmore resident.
"A resident. At Mass Kenmore. I actually start my shift in a few hours." She says still not sure of how to continue speaking without stuttering.
"Oh, that's nice, I guess." Ethan says and hangs the chart at the end of the bed. "I'm gonna check on other patients. You can stay here as long as you want."
Casey nods at this and smiles. "Thanks, Dr. Ramsey."
"You're welcome." Ethan stops by the door and faced her again. "You did well. Be confident next time, Rookie."
Word Count: ~1.6K
Trigger Warning: Car Crash, Accident
Note: May contain inaccuracies
***
"Carl, we seriously have to go now, I'm running late!" Casey stumbles upon their porch as she hastily puts her boots on.
Tomorrow is her first day as a resident, and there's only one flight scheduled for Boston today. Missing it, means not being able to attend her first day. That's why she really don't want to be late. Somehow, her brother does not feel her urgency though.
"You still have a couple of hours away from your flight." He says with a straught face as he walks past her, entering the car and opening the engine. Casey enters the car immediately, closing the door off with a bang. Carl laughs at this. "You need to stop being so nervous. You'll make it, and you'll enter Mass Kenmore head up high tomorrow. You'll do great."
Casey just snorts, rolling her eyes, "Well, thanks for the vouch of confidence but the plane won't wait."
They both shared a laugh as the car starts zooming through the highway.
***
It was a seven-hour flight, but it went by fast. She didn't even know they were landing, only realizing it once they actually did. As soon as she got off the plane, she yawns and stretches. Looking around, the thought finally sinks in.
She is indeed in Boston. Alone and about to spend residency in one of the city's most promising hospital. She wasn't sure if she is ready for this, but standing there right now at the Boston Logan International made her realize one thing. It's now or never and the only thing she wouldn't be able to accept is failure. She smiles to herself capturing a picture to send to her family before getting an uber.
It wasn't long before a black sedan stops in front of her. She immediately puts her bags inside and steps inside the car, giving her apartment address to the driver before she eases back into her seat.
Boston, I hope you're ready for me.
***
The drive was supposed to be a short one, considering that her apartment was just minutes away from both the airport and Mass Kenmore. However, her car stops in the highway, just a short distance away from what seemed to be a crash. She immediately got out of her car and walks towards the scene being cleared by paramedics. She stares out in shock.
Sure, they were warned about things like this before, but even during her internship, she never experienced something like this. She scanned the area assessing how bad the situation is. Two long school busses are completely toppled over, and with only a couple of paramedics out, she's sure they aren't gonna be finished anytime soon.
She sighs, running to the triage tent where she saw a paramedic furiously going through materials.
"Are there any doctors present yet?" She asked, the man just looked at her for a brief moment, continuing what he had been doing as he answered her question.
"None. They're on their way though."
She nods as she moves out of the tent again, scanning the area. She saw a little boy not too far away, desperately trying to move his fingers. She immediately runs to where he is.
The kid is stuck in a limbo, two pieces of metal are piercing him, one on the chest and on the abdomen.
"Code red! Someone get in here!" She shouted waiting for a paramedic. One of the EMTs run to her direction pulling a gurney along with him. Another paramedic helps to remove the metal from the boy, slowly lifting it up. The EMT carried the boy carefully into the gurney. Casey follows suit, since the boy had his hand wrapped on her finger, looking at her with tears in his eyes. "You're gonna be fine."
They rode the ambulance and starts making their way to the hospital. The EMT had attached an EKG on the child.
She leans back on the seat, sending a quick text to her uber asking him to drop her things at her apartment. Then she watched the kid closely and noticed how his breathing became rapid, his jugular vein distended.
"How many minutes before the nearest hospital?"
"Edenbrook is atleat 10 minutes away."
"He's tamponading, i'm afraid we can't wait that much." She bites her lip, unsure of what to do. She's an internal medicine resident, performing anything on the boy might cause her license. However, if she does nothing, he'll have no chance at all. "I need a needle and a catheter, I'm gonna do a pericardiocentesis."
"Are you allowed to do this?"
"Do you want this kid saved?"
The EMT did not speak again, instead he handed her the needle. Which she immediately took.
"We don't have an ultrasound, you're gonna have to go in blind." Casey nods at this, shifting her gaze into the young boy's chest.
"Tell me if there's even the slightest ST elevation."
Here's to praying it'll all goes well.
***
It felt like the longest ride. The pericardiocentesis went smoothly, the kid's breathing seemed to normalize after she did it. Pericardial fluid is still draining when they arrived at the hospital. The kid had held her hand again after she finished doing it.
I have to stop being attached to people this fast.
She shakes her head as the doors opened, they were immediately greeted by a couple of hospital interns.
"Carter Thompson, a nine-year-old male, with multiple metal puncture wounds obtained from the bus crash." The EMT nods at Casey hoping she'd explain the situation further.
"His BP is 100 over 80, he went under a cardiac tamponade on the way so I had to perform an emergency pericardiocentesis. One of his arms looks obviously fractured."
"Who are you?" One of the residents looked at her, confused.
Right. Who am I. A kid is dying, Karen.
"I'm Casey Valentine. I was on my way when I saw the crash." She said. The interns just nod despite the still confused faces. She watched as they pull the gurney away, walking towards the hospital.
"I think you've made quite the call." The EMT says suddenly.
"I hope so." She smiled at him. "By the way, I'm Casey. I guess you've already heard earlier. I believe I haven't gotten your name, though."
"I'm Rafael."
"Nice name." She says as he went inside the ambulance to fix the equipments inside, letting another EMT replace the equipments taken earlier. "I think I'm gonna head inside to check on him."
"I think you should." Rafael nods and offers his hands. Casey takes and shakes it. "It was nice meeting you."
"You, too. Looking forward to see you again, soon." With that she enters the hospital.
***
She was waiting for an update for a couple of hours. She sat on the lobby checking in on her work groupchat every once in a while. She's tired from the flight, and the fiasco earlier, yet she can't find herself leaving. She would just like to make sure the boy is okay.
"Is there anyone here who knows Carter Thompson?" She sat still, waiting for someone to speak. A few seconds after, no one did. So she stands instead and approaches the nurse.
"I was the one who took him in earlier." She says. The nurse nods leading her into a room where a doctor stands, busy writing on a chart while Carter lies on the bed, still unconscious.
"Dr. Ramsey, his guardians aren't here." The nurse said the moment they got inside the room.
"We're gonna have to wait for them then."
"There's someone who is waiting for an update on him though."
Casey shifts uncomfortably as the attending looks up from his charts, his eyes landing on her.
"Who are you?" He asked, voice stern. Casey couldn't help but stare.
How is this hospital filled with good-looking people?
She clears her throat when she noticed that the man still looks at her with a straight face.
"I brought him in earlier."
"Oh, you performed the pericardiocentesis." He says and puts the chart down, turning to face her. "A good call, I must say. He is doing fine now."
Casey looks at him expectantly.
"I'm afraid I can't tell you anything more."
Right. Confidentiality protocols.
Nodding, she speaks. "I just want to make sure he's alright. I'm not sure if I've done the procedure right earlier."
"You're a rookie?" Ethan is not one for small talks yet he found himself wanting to have a small conversation with the woman that is standing before him.
"A resident. At Mass Kenmore. I actually start my shift in a few hours." She says still not sure of how to continue speaking without stuttering.
Casey what did your brother tell you about simping?
"Oh, that's nice, I guess." Ethan says and hangs the chart at the end of the bed. "I'm gonna check on other patients. You can stay here as long as you want."
Casey nods at this and smiles. "Thanks, Dr. Ramsey."
"You're welcome." Ethan stops by the door and faced her again. "You did well. Be confident next time, Rookie." He says as he turns to leave. And then he walked away, leaving Casey with a big smile on her face.

Current watchlist (July 8th 2023)
Back to Tumblr again after some crazy work weeks in May and traveling to Canada in June so this list needs updating !
Currently watching : Till the End of the Moon (ep 18, I had made posts about trying to resist it, then got too busy anyway, but I was sick for the past few days and here we are and I love it), The Office season 7 (ep 17, it's crazy how this show is so long but I'm still enjoying it, they're like my family now), The Ultimatum France (ep 9, very different from the Queer Love version I also watched recently!), Avatar the Last Airbender season 1 (ep 10, yes it's my first time watching ATLA and it's very fun), Tomorrow (ep 4, this Kdrama about suicide keeps making me question how much I like it or not)
Tumblr media
Rewatching : Hometown Cha Cha (ep 12, such a wholesome show that makes me feel wrapped in love) , Gilmore Girls season 1 (another comfort show), Mindhunters season 2 (the opposite of a comfort show, but I'm so frustrated that there isn't a season 3), Fringe season 1 (getting my roommate into a new show !)
Tumblr media
Just finished : Shadow and Bones season 2 (still super into it, looking forward to season 3 ! also Jesper x Wylan afbtirhrbrktlykg), The Ultimatum Queer Love (supreme mess of a show, terribly entertaining until the stuff that comes out in the reunion), Love is Blind season 4 (okay I had a reality TV phase)... And I think that's it ? I'm realising I've left a lot of shows on pause
Tumblr media
Movies recently watched : Burning Days (4* oppressing Turkish social thriller with good homoeroticism), Je verrai toujours vos visages (5*, everything I wanted out of this French movie about reparative justice and mediation), Hidden Figures (3*, a good time), Us (3* not a good time but fascinating and disturbing, I need to read some analysis of it), M3gan (4* all around a great time of comedic horror) The Fabelmans (2* good, fine, nothing I'll remember much) Women talking (3* some excellent excellent things, others that don't quite land, super interesting and worth watching though)
Tumblr media
On pause : Basically all the BL/GL shows, I haven't watched more of Bed Friend (want to start again though), HIStory 3: Trapped (I'm thinking about just abandoning it though), My School President (it's cute but maybe a bit too teenager-y for me), nor GAP The Series (I love Khun Sam but she also really annoys me)
Tumblr media
To watch : Triage (just looks like a solid BL) , Drag Race France season 2 (so excited to support our French queens), Oppenheimer (don't know if I'll love everything about it but it seems very visually appealing), Love me if you dare (I tried to watch this TW-drama back when it came out in 2015, I found it boring and dropped it but people keep raving about it)

Note
do u have any recommendations on what to watch while waiting for next Saturday to kill me?
LOVE HOW WE'RE ALL RESIGNED TO OUR IMMINENT DEATH BY VEGASPETE SJKSGFKSG
anyway, i can definitely recommend some good BL shows to watch (im mostly assuming you're interested in them), though I'm still relatively new to them so I feel like everyone is already gonna know them ;;;; still, here's some of my favorite!!!
BL SHOWS WITH AN INTERESTING PLOT
history 3: trapped: y'all are probably gonna be tired of hearing me recommend this but it's my favorite BL and it may not be perfect but IT'S GOOD OKAY
manner of death: ..technically i haven't finished watching this because im..a mess, but I DO ALREADY LOVE IT A LOT IT'S SO GOOD
not me: i personally feel like the writing could have been better, but it's still an enjoyable show
triage: [CHANTS] TIMELOOP TIMELOOP TIMELOOP. yeah im so normal about this show.... it's currently airing so you can catch up with it!! (it's a b*tch to find, though, because aisplay hates international fans, but d/r/a/m/a/cool is our best friend)
LIGHTHEARTED BL SHOWS
cherry magic, kieta hatsukoi, and mr. unlucky has no choice but to kiss: putting these 3 together because they are currently my holy trinity of feel good shows from japan
semantic error: one of my favorites and definitely the show i would suggest to someone watching BLs for the first time because it's [CHEF'S KISS]
secret crush on you: definitely not everyone's cup of tea because the secondhand embarrassment in the first couple of episodes is.. truly SOMETHING, but if you can bear with it this show is gonna bring you so much joy
NOT A BL BUT LITERALLY MY FAVORITE SHOW OF ALL TIME
beyond evil: altered all the synapses in my brain, changed me on a molecular level, nothing will ever compare
