it is So Weird how working on my comic makes me feel like i have more free time. and gives me more free time. logically, working on 3 comic pages a week would mean i have Less Time. but no. despite everything, i'm getting more done and able to use my time better now that i'm working on comic pages again. what the hell is up with that.

#it's probably the structure and routine tbh i've been doing this for 6 years #i feel way less stressed about all the stuff i have to do than the 2 months i wasn't working on the comic #and arguably i have more to do now!!!!!#there's just so many little things that working on my comic helps me with. vital part of my daily and weekly structure #1) gives me a Main Goal to focus on every week and it's a goal that i know is achievable #2) gives me things to do almost every day that i am able to get started on right away and then will have free time later when i'm done #3) on days i'm not working on it i feel more comfortable doing things for fun or completing smaller tasks #4) because it's a weekly schedule i actually know what day it is now. completely lost track of the days before. made me really scared tbh #5) actually allows me to relax. the way i make pages means it's a lil bit mindless half the time. which is nice #i spent most of the last 2 months when i wasn't making comic in bed. because i had nothing else to do #now i am not doing that! because even when i'm not working on pages i have the motivation to do things!#this is an ironic post to make when i've spent like 6-7 hours today just playing fathomverse #but that's the thing!!!! instead of hating myself for doing that i still feel like i can get shit done!#also i already knew all this about making comics and how i function but. man idk how to put this #i spent the last 2 months struggling to do fucking Anything #and it was after i was so sure i could handle taking a break from the comic #and it was after lots of people have told me i need to put the comic down and get a job #or do anything that isn't making a comic #i have been working on the comic again for 9 days. and already everything feels more manageable #i literally Need to have projects like this. if i dont i will lose my mind. nobody tell me i need to do other things with my life ever agai

Peter's healing just gives up at one point so now he has a new shiny scar or two of Ava's teeth.

He's worried because his healing has a limit apparently and starts trying to figure out what it is – is it the quantity? the frequency? the placement? A mix of all three that caused this?

(I like the idea of his healing being able to bring him back from death's door. He can be gutted and have his organs hang out, but if he just shoves them back inside and sleep for a few hours, he's right as rain)

Danny is low-key thinking of what excuse he can use when kills Ava and if he can also mark Peter in some way

I LOVEEEE with characters that have battle scars so when I want Peter to have one, it’s difficult cuz of his healing factor and Danny being able to heal others and himself(got power up from the comics in my fic)😭😭.

I do like the idea of Peter having a limit of his healing depending on his health. Such as if Peter is tired and haven’t been eating/sleeping much, his healing would slow down. Kinda like the idea of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 where Peter’s powers started fading away because of stress, the same would apply to his healing factor.

I won’t lie though, in Call You Mine, I had him become impaled from his stomach and bro still managed to swing himself to a hospital and be brought back to life while undergoing surgery. I didn’t know if I was stupid back then to write that unrealistic scene with plot armor or showed how badass teen Peter can be😭😭😭. As I matured, I decided to not place him in such insane circumstances like that and toned it down a bit but atleast he still has the scar from it.

The short battle between them would be pretty entertaining and giving Danny a shine of how to be creative with marking😭😭.

What suggestions would you have for cool, lesser known DC characters I could write a crossover fic with.

Preferably not Gotham-based characters because as much as I love them I need a break and I want to try something new. I know you mentioned Animal Man in another post. Does he have a solo run I can look up or is he usually in group comics/a side character in somebody else’s comics?

(I am deliberately baiting you to info-dump to me about any DC characters you want and I will write a fic with them so go nuts.)

Sadly at this current moment I can’t infodump nearly as much as I’d want to because my carpal tunnel is being a lil bitch but I can give synopses:

Animal Man- Buddy Baker, a typical suburban dad who also happens to be a hero that can use abilities based on any nearby animal (including bacteria?). He is powered by The Red which is the animal version of The Green (Plant Life). The Red is less the concept of all animals but more the concept that all animals are meat. his comics are either a beautifully terrifying body horror gore fest or a 4th wall breaking mind bending creation. No in between. Having Animal Man fight the Lunch Lady and realize she’s fundamentally a different being and not of The Red would be crazy awesome.

Booster Gold or Ted Kord: Booster Gold is a Time Cop who got his job from stealing shit from the Hall of Justice Museum and heading to the Age of Heroes to fund enough money and fame to pay for his mothers cancer treatment. He could be used in Clockwork related fics a lot and he’s also equally as much as a dumbass as Danny.

Blue Beetle also known as Ted Kord, is basically in the same package deal as Booster. Ted Kord, Late owner of Kord Industries, ja a brilliant master of technology and has stuff from a massive beetle ship to a gun. He’s best friends with Booster and their bromance could be fun if you want Danny to have two partially functional adult mentors.

Wally West. The second and fastest flash. A he’s the most go with the flow dude I’ve seen in recent comics, including dealing with an inter dimensional WWE esque fight where he fights alongside Space Hulk Hogan, and has a wonderful Wife, Linda West, and (sometimes) twin kiddos. The Flash’s entire sthick is family. They’re more family centered than the Fast and Furious movies for god sake. Having Danny find a new home in any speedsters home would be incredible.

The Spectre: the embodiment of Gods Wrath. I would go on far too long of a rant remind me to do one later but for now all I’m saying is that it would be sick as fuck for The Spectre to kill Vlad for the horrible things he’s done.

Green Arrow or in general Star City: Oliver Queen, inheritor of Queen Industries is a dude who got trauma after a boat sank and some island thing (tbh I don’t know his backstory off the top of my head), but he’s a very quippy and hilarious guy who’s jokes would mesh pretty nicely with Danny’s humor and in general he’s underutilized in both dpxdc and DC so it’d be nice to see that change :)

Ok hands are getting angry but I hope that’s a fun starting example list for ya!! :D
