1- why did you choose your URL?
When this blog started I was really into Good Omens (still am! just quieter about it but that’ll change as we get closer to season 2) so I wanted a URL that referenced Good Omens but was also neutral enough that I could switch fandoms without it being weird. “Feathered-serpents” is meant to be referring to the angels and snakes in Good Omens but also the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl because I’m a mythology slut. I love this deity so much and he’s ALWAYS made to be a monster in Western media when he’s!! A god of art, wind, and knowledge!! And created humanity!! He’s so cool Aztec mythos is SO COOL
2- Any side blogs?
Not really. I used to have a Flight Rising side blog but it’s been abandoned for awhile. Been thinking about making a Dragon Age sideblog but I basically just use Twitter for that so this is what we get
3- How long have you been on Tumblr?
10 years. Since I was 13. Technically 11 if you count when I made a blog in 2010 but didn’t know how to use tumblr since it’s not user friendly and just let it sit there for a year until I figured it out.
It’s certainly done something to my development. Dunno what. But something
4- Do you have a queue tag?
No. Everything you get is live
5- Why did you start your blog in the first place?
I’ve had a series of blogs over the years, leaving older ones by either switching fandoms after I’d built too much of a niche in one to change my whole blog or by deleting the accounts cause I was swearing off tumblr and we can all see how that worked out. This one is my fifth main blog and I made it cause the fourth one got shadowbanned for no reason! Yay!
6- Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
There’s this amazing comic by the artist @hollow-head of Aziraphale and Crowley’s drunken debate from the book and it contained a panel with Aziraphale in a little rocket ship as Crowley explained interstellar bird travel. I thought it was cute and asked if I could use it and they said yes and even sent me a version with a white background. I love it and I’m never changing it
7- Why did you choose your header?
I really like the book Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman it’s DEEPLY weird and I’m still waiting for an adaptation. There’s an illustrated version which is beautiful and my header is the scene where the main character first enters the Underground world. I thought it was cool!
8- What’s your post with the most notes?
The fucking. Stupid female aliens post I made in a rage after hearing that female aliens were barely included in the game Mass Effect because the artists “Didn’t know what that would look like”
Tumblr media
Like five seconds after I made this some dude reblogged it with “takes more than a voice and pronoun change but aight” after calling me a “puritan who hates women” on a separate post for expressing my approval of a scene in that same game being changed where a woman is confiding in you about her tormented childhood while the camera is just. Glued to her ass for no reason
(he also reblogged and disagreed with me on like. many Mass Effect posts. It was deeply strange. I did not know him. He’s blocked now)
9- How many mutuals do you have? Not sure but quite a few! I’d say about half the people I follow are mutuals as I tend to follow people I see in my notes a lot
10- How many followers do you have?
1,577 but the number tends to go up and down constantly and also a good amount are probably porn bots
11-How many people do you follow?
279!
12- Have you ever made a shit post?
That’s all I do here
13- How often do you use Tumblr each day?
That’s between me and god
14- Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
Not really. If someone is annoying me or if they just post too much content I don’t like I’ll just block them. Usually it’s not even because I think they’re a bad person I just don’t wanna see their Eliasfucking posts in the TMA tag I’m sorry it’s too much*
*(that’s an example i’m not referring to anyone specific)
15- How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
Usually avoid unless I think it’s very important
16- Do you like tag games?
Yes but I will usually forget to do them unless I do it RIGHT AWAY (like this one)
17- Do you like ask games?
Also yes but I tend to forget to respond to those too. I will do the WWDITS/TMA prompts you all sent I will do them I just get overwhelmed by things I enjoy
18- Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous?
We’re all in pretty niche corners so I don’t think any of us are “famous” but I am mutuals with some really cool artists. That’s fun!
19- Do you have a crush on a mutual?
Platonically <3
Oh god now I have to tag people uhhhhhhh @alexiley, @dudeiwannasleep, @annabelle--cane, @ghostbustermelanieking, is that enough? that feels like enough (no pressure!!)

Check-In Tag✨
AKA a very long post about moi and this account bc I was tagged by the lovely @katelfiredemon <3
IF YOU SEE THIS, PRETEND I'M TAGGING U like this is completely optional (and long omg) so I don't wanna FORCE anyone to do it but asjhkl I think it's cute
1. why did you choose your url?
My og url was something dumb bc I only used tumblr to keep up with artists and writers I admired… this one is revamped to be ~relatable~ bc I wanted something that I felt comfortable adding on my art?? But ok-
clueless = because THERE’S TIMES THAT I’M A LIL SLOW TO GET A JOKE SDFHJKL
lesbian = bc I’m not out to my family but my sexuality is something I like about me,,, so I wanted to acknowledge it somewhere (and the anonymity of tumblr = ideal tbh)
2. any side blogs? if you have them: name them and why you have them
I made one like yesterday lol! It’s @blue-dragon-shin-ah and it’s for Akatsuki no Yona (an anime and manga I TOTALLY rec! It’s like a historical themed fantasy, comedy, romance WITH a found family trope it’s so good)
but ngl I have no clue how to keep track of more than 1 blog so it'll be a lot more inactive than this one asdhkl
3. how long you’ve been on tumblr?
hmm according to my tumblr account it’d be 2016 since that’s the oldest post I’ve kept (I deleted everything and revamped this acc in december 2020)
BUT I did the math and I would’ve made this account in middle school so around 2013-2014 lol I don’t think I used it much until voltron was booming in like 2016-2018.. Then I lowkey stopped… until now!
4. do you have a queue tag?
oof no
……...I probably should? like 90% of my blog is queued or scheduled… but ngl I barely remember to tag posts at ALL some nights so I probably won’t (rip if that’s annoying,, but I don’t make much og content so I figure anyone following me is chill with this lol)
5. why did you start your blog in the first place?
In middle school?? To see funny posts and not be pressured into having an ~online presence~ tbh. That’s literally it lol
6. why did you choose your icon?
Matching with @lesbianklance rn! and keith's expressions r hilarious
Before I just,,, chose sokka bc I love that blue boi and the edit of him had a yellow bg that I LOVED (and matched with my pink theme)
7. why did you choose your header?
Matching with @lesbianklance rn! and klance sdjfhk
Before it was just a colour palette bc I wanted my blog to be my fav colour: PINK
8. what’s your post with the most notes?
My zukka art omg- like I did one that I put effort into which I KNOW is my top post (it’s got like 600 notes??? I still can’t believe it I love that!! 🥰)
BUT MY SECOND TOP IS A POST OF REALLY REALLY ROUGH SKETCHES OF THEM AND I LOWKEY CRINGE AT IT (it’s got like 500 notes.. And I’m like… y ?? I can DO BETTER 😭)
9. how many mutuals do you have?
…...listen I’ve literally never had mutuals until this year (minus my one irl.. I love u bitch!! but u know that bc we text on other platforms too)
idek am i supposed to be keeping track??? I just smile a lot when i see the darker-tinted notifs in my activity feed
10. how many followers do you have?
hmmmmmmm ok i lowkey don’t want to answer this bc my whole love for tumblr is that followers don’t matter? You could follow me today and unfollow tmrw bc i ship something you don’t and life moves on??? So yeah no answer here
11. how many people do you follow?
1807 babeyyyy
12. have you ever made a shitpost?
...wait define shitpost- technically any original post under #yeetidk might be a shitpost cause they’re all just?? my shitty rambles tbh???
13. how often do you use tumblr each day?
Sometimes i’ve got the app open allll day long but other days?? I’ll go on like once in the morning or at night just to check my notifs and then that’s it
14. did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won?
lmaoo bold of you to assume i interact with anyone enough to have a fight (AKA no)
If i did tho?? I’m the type to try and come to some middle ground before dropping the issue so idk- i’m more likely to lose bc i’m willing to (づ ̄3 ̄)
15. how do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
Wish-granting/curse stuff: no.
Politics/Donation posts: depends! I try to only reblog posts like these that I know a bit about bc I don’t really wanna contribute to misinformation ykno?
I did start tagging these posts as #important but I’m not like?? gonna be mad at anyone for not reblogging political posts (also a heads-up if you wanted to block #important: I also tag some lgbt+ stuff under there so you’ll likely miss those too, not a huuuge loss but just an fyi yknow??)
16. do you like tag games?
asdfghjkl this is honestly the first tag game i’ve ever been part of so i have no opinion 😭 tho formatting this post has been a bitch asdhjkl I gotta get back to my homework when I'm finally done this
17. do you like ask games?
I've done a grand total of 1 and I felt so?? ashgjl awkward and bad for asking people to talk to me about myself- maybe if I do one that isn't about me I'll like it more
I do love sending other people anons to compliment them when they do these games tho 😌
18. which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
....this requires me to pay attention to people I follow more than I have been so I literally have no idea??
19. do i have a crush on a mutual?
yes. the one readings this. love u, sweetheart 😘
/jokes
I don't?? usually get crushes? idek.. thought I was aromantic for a while bc of that lmaoo (but then I got a crush on someone irl and I was like "oooh ok so maybe im just gay then")

20 Best Rogue & Gambit Covers (Part II)
Here’s the same stuff I said before:
For the hottest couple in the Marvel universe, there are surprisingly few truly great (and truly hot!) Rogue & Gambit covers to be published since the characters began flirting literal decades ago.
In the run up to our BIG RELEASE of Rogue & Gambit #1 on 1/3/18…and with a all of us aching for the lettered preview to drop, I thought I’d count down the 20 best Gambit & Rogue covers.
I AM including Kris Anka’s publicly released covers for our series in the running, even though they are not yet published…because…well, because this is the FIRST EVER ROGUE & GAMBIT COMIC AND HOW COULD I NOT???
If you think I missed something…it’s possible. But it’s also possible I’m just not a fan of that cover. To each their own as they say.
Most importantly…can anything we’ve seen yet beat the most iconic Rogue & Gambit cover of all time? (C’mon, you know the one!)
Anyway, here’s to A LOT MORE Gambit & Rogue hotness in our future and onto the list! :D
And HERE’S Covers #1 - #10!
Tumblr media
10. X-MEN LEGACY #259 - CLAY MANN. Absolutely gorgeous. Again, BIG points off for Rogue bringing another dude to the party, but this is gorgeously illustrated, has a ton of tension and heat. What Mann manages to do with just Magneto’s hand on Rogue’s shoulder and Gambit’s on Rogue’s thigh and her hands on both of theirs is...sorta awe inspiring? And the fact that she’s got her eyes locked on the reader just puts it over the top intensity wise. It’s ironic, because this loses points for including Magneto...and yet the things that make it work like gangbusters demand that Magneto be there...conundrum. I think what it really highlights is what a shame it is that we never got a hot canon Rogue & Gambit cover from Mann.
Tumblr media
09. GAMBIT #16 - YANICK PAQUETTE. Finally THEY. ARE. KISSING. Omg. I can’t believe we had to get to #9 before we’ve got them actually kissing! AHHHH. So. This is a great illustration. Beautiful treatment of both Gambit and Rogue...I love the body language especially. And I don’t mind the minimalist red background - and it might even be intended as a call back to the red background on that iconic Rogue & Gambit cover (you know the one). The big problem with this has nothing to do with Paquette’s lovely work at all...it’s that hideous absolutely massive “storyline banner” that takes up more than a fifth of the entire cover. It honestly wrecks EVERYTHING and makes me furious tbh.
Tumblr media
08. ROGUE & GAMBIT #1 - KRIS ANKA. Amazing energy and movement, love the confident use of white space, and the sassy attitude they both have in body language and expression. I am also a really big fan of the title block text as it is here...BUT that’s not how the final is going to look as it will have the “Marvel Legacy” trade dress...which is fine, but not as good as this. So slight points off there. I still like the actual “Rogue & Gambit” title block itself a lot. And the “Ring of Fire” part 1 text banner is small/high/unassuming, so it’s pretty good overall! You’ll see. And yes, I’m very biased here. Fully admit that. I’m a huge fan of Kris Anka’s work, he’s my friend, and this is my book. I come with ALL THE BIAS AND AM HAPPY TO ADMIT IT. ;D
Tumblr media
07. X-MEN LEGACY #224 - LEE BERMEJO. This is a little dark compared to what we’re used to seeing for these two in covers and a little more realistic than I tend to prefer...but I totally dig it. It’s got a ton of intensity, and the body language and expression work is awesome. They really feel almost about to kiss, which, if you’re not going to get the actual kiss, is quintessential Gambit and Rogue, right? The title block stuff is really simple and unassuming as well.
Tumblr media
06. UNCANNY AVENGERS #5 - CARLOS PACHECO. A really nice homage to the accepted most iconic Rogue & Gambit image of all time...it doesn’t beat it, but it’s totally lovely. A gorgeous illustration that feels like that old cover, but nicely updated and its own thing. It loses points for a little bit too much text nonsense going on...and the expressions don’t QUITE work for me, plus I’ll never love Rogue with short hair ;D but all in all, a beautiful piece.
Tumblr media
05. ULTIMATE X-MEN #53 - ANDY KUBERT. If you can believe it...this is the only other cover on the list (ever?) with an actual lip lock! Crazy. But at least it’s GORGEOUS. I really do love this one - the blue tones, the rain, the intensity, the simplicity, I just love it. It loses a few points for really dumb stuff though. I hate the blue borders with the X symbols (so dumb) and some slightly obnoxious title block/giant numbers stuff, but mostly...I just...really hate Remy’s hair? Yeah, it just doesn’t look like Gambit with that weird wavy hair. That’s honestly my biggest beef with this otherwise gorgeous piece.
Tumblr media
04. ROGUE & GAMBIT #2 - KRIS ANKA. Admittedly this is getting a bit of a pass for not having the title block on it, but since I know about what that will look like, I think I know enough to be okay with it. And I think people will love this cover even more when they see what’s inside the issue. But based on what we have here - it gets so many points for pure fun, plus it has great energy and movement. PLUS the obvious connection/chemistry between our leads. Bonus points for Rogue’s glorious thighs. Bonus points for Gambit’s conveniently torn uniform (and hairy chest). And Bonus points for Gambit’s perfect smirk! Again, noted that I’m highly biased...and I don’t care!
*runs away, fingers in ears*
Tumblr media
03. X-MEN 92 #2 - PEPE LARRAZ. So here’s how much I love this cover...I don’t buy print comics any more (no room!) just digital and then trades for some stuff for my shelves. But for this I went out and bought a print copy. Had to have this in my hands. I love everything about it. Well, okay, in a PERFECT world Cassandra isn’t in the background, but everything else is perfection. The swooning, the love, the drama, even the little raven with the “heart” word balloon. LOVE IT. And no surprise really because Pepe Larraz is a hell of an artist who went on to draw a spectacular Rogue (and sometimes Gambit) in Uncanny Avengers!
Tumblr media
02. ROGUE & GAMBIT #3 - KRIS ANKA. So...there are great, beautifully illustrated covers...and then there are great, beautifully illustrated covers that are also PERFECTLY CLEVER and instantly become iconic. That’s this one for me. As if a dozen versions of Gambit and Rogue weren’t fun enough, the heart shape they make... *kisses fingers* ...it’s perfection. I wish nothing more than us not having to put ANY text on this. I wish we could just send it out as is. Alas, no. And that is gonna knock it down JUST ENOUGH to NOT unseat the iconic classic. (But maybe issue #4 or #5 will??? We still have time!) :D
Tumblr media
01. X-MEN #24 - ANDY KUBERT. It all comes down to this, as you knew it would. The classic cover that launched a thousand ships...or rather... CEMENTED them. It’s just gorgeous. It’s perfectly 90′s. It just BATHES in the nostalgia of classic Gambit and Rogue. it’s not afraid to cover up more than half the title block (YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE, YOU DON’T NEED NO PESKY TITLE BLOCK!). That it rocks the most classic, well-known, and beloved looks for both of them only cements things further. And because they were still doing the “no touching dance” in these early days...their state of almost touching is just...PALPABLE. I’ll also say that though Rogue’s face gets the focus, Gambit is just really lovingly rendered too.
HOTT.
So. There you have it. My picks for the 20 Best Rogue & Gambit covers of all time.
Don’t forget to hit up your LCS on Wednesday 1/3/18 (or Comixology) for Rogue & Gambit #1 and keep reading to see if we (ahem, KRIS ANKA) can unseat the 20+ year title holder of “Best Rogue & Gambit Cover of All Time”
No pressure, Kris! :D

blog tag
I was tagged by the very sweet @the-blind-assassin-12 (who has the cutest dog in the world in case anyone is wondering). 💛
1. Why did you choose your url?
Oh man, I fucking HATE coming up with blog names because everything I come up with is usually taken.  I started this blog several years ago to celebrate my love of Nick & June from the Handmaid’s Tale. I hadn’t been on tumblr in quite a few years and that ship brought me back to fandom land. I chose “sky” because when I’m on tumblr I feel like my head is in the clouds and “shipper” because I was here to post about a specific ship. Idk, I don’t love it and it’s not even a good concept but it’s staying forever because I loathe coming up with new blog names. I also get really confused on my own dash when people change their urls?? Lol, I’m a visual person. So anyway, that’s it. That’s the name. It kinda sucks but here we are.
2. Any side blogs?
Yep, but I pretty much abandoned it. I’ve found that one blog is more than enough to manage for me. I originally created it when I wanted to post stuff for shows outside of The Handmaid’s Tale. Then I decided that was silly and I should post whatever the hell I feel like. It’s very easy on social media to get caught up in likes, followers, reblogs, etc.....but ultimately I’m here for me.  I know 95% of the people who follow this blog came here for content for another show, but they don’t have to stay and that’s fine. I’m just out here doing my own thing, curating a list of shit I’m into at the moment.  If you’re into it too, then cool!  If not, that is also cool.
3. How long have you been on tumblr?
I’ve come and gone many times. I think I had a blog around 2014 for a show/fandom that shall not be named, which I rage deleted in a fit one day.  Then I had a lurker blog for a few years.  I think I’ve had this one for maybe 2-3 years??? I don’t think I logged in for the majority of 2020, because the pandemic rollercoaster took an emotional toll on me just like everyone else. I’ve made a conscious decision this year to only spend my free time & social media time on things that are making me feel happy, not anxious, frustrated or sad. Din Djarin brought me back here but I’ve stayed for Pedro Pascal. Pedro makes everyone happy, bless his beautiful soul. ❤️
4. Do you have a queue tag?
Nope. I tried queuing posts for a while but I just found it to be too much work. Now I just reblog/like stuff on the spot.
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?
To celebrate my love of Nick & June from The Handmaid’s Tale. I’m not really into the show anymore because the writing is total shit, but season one (when they were working off of Margaret Atwood’s novel) is still a masterpiece.
6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
Because Javier Peña is hot as fuck, that’s why. Listen, I have a hard time picking an icon and get irrationally attached to it when I do. There are so many great Pedro pictures and characters to choose from.  I still think of going back to my original Pedro icon from that Vanity Fair photoshoot because it’s one of my absolute favorite pictures of him and I still love it so much. I’ve been messing around in Photoshop trying to make a cool background for it and have failed miserably to create anything I like thus far.  So for now, Javi is staying.
7. Why did you choose your header?
Once again, because Javier Peña is hot as fuck, that’s why.  I never held a handgun in my life, but ohhhhh, so sexy when fictional characters I love do it. Same with the cigarette smoking. Good lord just thinking about this is making me feel things. 😅
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
This weapons set I made for Din. I’m still shocked that happened because that is BY FAR the most notes I’ve ever received on a post and it will probably never happen again. I peaked too soon, haha!  I just got Photoshop in February or March of this year after making mediocre gifs with a series of phone apps for years.  That was maybe the second or third set I ever made in Photoshop, so I was kind of stunned it took off like that. What can I say, everyone finds Din’s weapons as sexy as I do, I guess.  I do sometimes look at it and wish I would have made better quality gifs but I was, and still am, learning. Now when I look at I try and use it as a reminder that my gifs are slowly improving (at least I hope so anyway) and that makes me happy. I still get notes on that post daily which both surprises me and makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.
9. How many mutuals do you have?
I’m not really sure because I never went through and counted??? Maybe 30ish?
10. How many followers do you have?
1363, at least 1200 of which came here for Nick & June. I hope all of you like Pedro Pascal & Star Wars because I’m going to be stuck in this mode for a long time!! 🤡
11. How many people do you follow?
157
12. Have you ever made a shitpost?
No, not that I can remember anyway. Tumblr & fandom in general are way more fun for me when I spend time focusing on good things.  Life (this past year especially) is hard enough. I just want to bask in the glow of Pedro’s beautiful heart and face, live in the fantasy worlds of Star Wars, read smutty things from amazing writers, and enjoy beautiful gifs & edits from content creators. All of these things bring me joy and that’s why I’m here. This is a positive vibes only space for me.
13. How often do you use Tumblr each day?
Too much??? I like to keep my work tabs open on my computer and then peak at pretty things throughout the day as a little reward when I get stuff done.  Sometimes that leads to unexpected breaks (like reading fanfiction at 11am on a Tuesday) but I’m not sad.  I work for myself so there is no one to get mad at me, just a pile of work that keeps growing because I’m screwing around.
14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
Nah. I’m here for pretty things, wonderful writing and nice people. If someone is an asshole I just block them, problem solved. Which has only happened to me once that I can recall and it was years ago. I try to only follow people that cultivate a space for kindness and positivity as well, that way there is nothing to argue about......just mutual pining over lovely things.
15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
Ugh, love/hate relationship. I definitely understand why people who create things want as many people to see it as possible. It takes a long time to create gifs/edits/write stories so I see the value in reblogs and user tags as a way to boost posts to get your stuff out there in front of as many eyes as possible.  Personally, I feel like people should reblog things only when and if they want to do it.  I never want anyone to reblog my creations because they feel like they have to do that.  I want them to reblog it because it made them happy and/or they liked something I created. Believe it or not, I notice when a follower of mine is a person that usually only “likes” my posts and then suddenly reblogs something with the nicest tags about a post saying it’s pretty, they love it, etc.  For me, that’s extremely rewarding because something I made resonated with that person.  I also believe that if you’re creating things only for reblogs or likes then you’re focused on the endgame and competition (getting the most notes, etc.) which is never a good headspace to be in for creating things. I know that can be hard because social media creates anxiety, depression and imposter syndrome, but the amount of notes on a post really and truly does not always equate to the best content.  So much of it is timing, or a post getting boosted by bigger blogs so more people see it.  I try to create things for myself first and foremost and if I am doing that and enjoying myself in the process, who cares how many people see it/like it/reblog it? At the end of the day I want to like what I create and feel like I’m improving my Photoshop knowledge & skills. That’s why I’m here and that’s what I try to stay focused on all the time.
16. Do you like tag games?
Yeah, I do. Except the music questions.  Why are there so many music/song questions?  I’m the kind of person that lets someone else pick the music most of the time. I also listen to a genre to fit the mood I’m in rather than a specific artist 95% of the time, so I find those song questions really difficult. I also like tag games because I really love to learn more about other people here. I’m really flattered when someone tags me in something because it means they want to get to know me better and since I’m both introverted and shy I always find that really nice. 🥺
17. Do you like ask games?
Yes!! I always want to do those but if I’m being honest, I’m shy and anxious so I always feel like no one will send me any asks if I do it.  Lol, that is peak anxiety my friends. Let’s just say I’m working up to doing one someday. I absolutely love reading them when others do them.
18. Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous?
Certainly @javier-pena ......I mean, those Din Djarin’s hottest moments and Javier Peña’s hottest moments are straight up iconic. Also @sirtadcooper whose icons/headers are absolutely amazing, instantly recognizable and rightfully used by so many people because they are fucking awesome!
19. Do you have a crush on a mutual?
Oh yeah, so many.  I have creator crushes on tons of people that are not mutuals too.  Jfc, there are so many lovely people here creating amazing things.  I will say that @sirtadcooper is honestly one of the sweetest, kindest people I have met in this fandom and one of the most amazing content creators here. A true beacon of original content that I admire greatly. I love that I can pick out her work so easily and that she has a clear style. I aspire to get to that point with my creations some day. @javier-pena makes the mostly insanely crispy gifs and has been very kind about helping me with gif questions in my obsession quest to constantly learn how to become better.  I think her gifs are magic at this point because I just don’t understand how they look that consistently amazing all of the fucking time?? Idk, I’m just glad she shares them with us. @trashcora makes some really amazing gifs that I just don’t even know where to begin. Sometimes I look at stuff like this of hers and wonder if people really appreciate the amount of time it takes to create things like that??  Same goes for @millenniumsfalcon where I just can’t even begin to think about how to create gifs that complex and beautiful. I don’t even know what to say, I’m just going to continue to admire these creations from my little corner of the web. As for writers, I absolutely adore anything @frannyzooey writes. I mean, I’m suddenly living for Dave York porn and I’ve never even watched that film??? I’m convinced anything she writes is pure gold. TMTC is one of the best pieces of fanfiction I’ve ever read. I must confess I’ve only read about 3% of the amazing fanfiction in the Pedro/Mandalorian fandom because I get stuck on Masterlists like hers that are so consistently fucking amazing. That and most of my free hours are spent clowning around in Photoshop. I can’t wait to read more stuff from so many other people here. I promise I have a list much longer than I have time for, but I’m getting there!
Tagging: @keeper0fthestars , @teamnick , & @filthybookworm if you would like to. 😊💛

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico: The Complete Travel Guide
You know those places that you visit for a day and immediately want to stay forever? Puerto Vallarta Mexico is one such place. This charming town in Banderas Bay is one of the most popular places to visit in Mexico, and rightfully so.
With the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Sierra Madre mountains on the other, Puerto Vallarta is truly a stunning location. Add in the beautiful church with its tree-lined plaza and the scenic promenade known as the Malecon, and you’ve got one good looking city.
While Puerto Vallarta welcomes in boatloads (and planeloads, for that matter) of tourists and is home to several all-inclusive resorts, the city prides itself on its traditions and culture. On a walk around town, you may see a cowboy riding his horse up the cobblestone streets. Or perhaps a mariachi band roaming the beach to serenade visitors.
Many come to Puerto Vallarta to relax on la playa, but there’s a lot more to the city than just sun and sand. You can also go hiking, snorkeling, mountain biking, fishing, and even skydiving! There’s so much to do here that you’ll end up planning your return trip before you even leave.
I first came to Puerto Vallarta a few years ago with plans to stay for a month. Like many others before me, I fell in love with the place and decided to stay. It’s been my home away from home for the past two years now, and I’m excited to introduce Puerto Vallarta to you in this comprehensive travel guide.
Where to Stay in Puerto Vallarta Mexico
For a relatively small city, you have tons of choices when it comes to accommodation in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. For simplicity’s sake, I’m just going to focus on the actual city of Puerto Vallarta and its different neighborhoods. Heading south from the airport, these are:
Marina Vallarta
Hotel Zone
5 de Diciembre
El Centro
Zona Romantica
Here’s a short description of each neighborhood with a recommendation for one of the best places to stay there:
Marina Vallarta
The Marina is where the cruise ships dock in Puerto Vallarta, and they’re actually working on an impressive new cruise ship terminal at the moment. This area is home to some really nice all-inclusive resorts as well as a world-class golf course. It’s a popular place for families and those seeking a bit of peace and quiet on their trip — something that can be hard to come by in Mexico!
San Tropico is a lovely boutique hotel in the Marina that is centered around a garden with an outdoor pool. It’s not too far from the beach and they also provide bikes if you don’t feel like walking. Click here to see the latest price from Booking.com.
Hotel Zone
As you might expect, the Hotel Zone is full of hotels. Clever name, isn’t it? The beachside is home to massive resorts while crossing the main road brings you into a very local part of town with plenty of options for shopping and dining.
If you’re not into the all-inclusive thing, Suites Mar Elena is a good option in the Hotel Zone. Here you’ll find comfortable rooms and an outdoor pool at a reasonable rate. Click here to see the latest price from Booking.com.
5 de Diciembre
The “5th of December” neighborhood is a great place to stay in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. It’s located in between the Hotel Zone and Centro and is primarily a residential area, but there are some solid choices for accommodation here as well. This is a good place to base yourself as you’ve got easy access to the beach and public transportation.
Casa de Chayo Boutique Hotel is a really nice place with fantastic ocean views. They go out of their way here to make sure you feel at home on your visit. Click here to see the latest price from Booking.com.
El Centro
As the name would suggest, this is the central part of Puerto Vallarta. Here you’ll find the beautiful Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the main square, and the Malecon. El Centro is also home to some of the best shopping and dining options in town. If you want to be in the thick of it all, this is definitely the place to stay.
If you’re looking for a nice place to lay your head in El Cetnro, Luna Liquida is a solid choice. This well-appointed hotel is located just a few blocks up the hill from the church, and they’ve got some awesome views from their infinity pool. Click here to see the latest price from Booking.com.
Romantic Zone
Once you cross the river from El Centro, you find yourself in the Zona Romantica (Romantic Zone). Despite the name, this part of town isn’t just for couples. Here you’ll find a wide variety of options for accommodation, as well as tons of cafes, spas, restaurants, shops, and bars. It’s probably the most fun part of Puerto Vallarta to stay in.
La Casa del Descanso is an excellent choice in the Romantic Zone. This beautifully decorated B&B is in a great location for taking advantage of all that the area has to offer. Click here to see the latest price on Booking.com.
For a more detailed look at these neighborhoods and the best accommodation in each, be sure to check our comprehensive guide on where to stay in Puerto Vallarta.
What to Do in Puerto Vallarta
There are plenty of awesome things to do in Puerto Vallarta, from beach hopping to adrenaline-filled adventures to partaking in the culinary and nightlife scenes. It wasn’t easy narrowing this list down, but here are my top 5 picks for PV:
1. Walk the Malecon
The Malecon is an oceanfront promenade that goes from El Centro down to the Romantic Zone. It’s about 1.5 km (~1 mile) long and is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll.
In addition to the beautiful views of palm trees swaying and the waves crashing, you can also admire the impressive collection of sculptures. Pull this guide up on your phone so you know what you’re looking at. From mid-November to mid-April, you can also join a free walking tour of the Malecon every Tuesday at 9:30AM.
If you hear the sounds of a flute, that means it’s almost time for the Dance of the Flyers. This ancient Mesoamerican ceremony involves a group of men spinning through the air from atop a 30-meter pole and is quite the sight!
That’s not all, as you’ll also find artists selling paintings and drawing portraits, cultural events in the small amphitheater, and plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants along the way.
2. Soak Up the Local Culture
One of the many reasons I love Puerto Vallarta Mexico is the vibrant culture. From the hardworking street food vendors, to the roaming mariachi bands, to the many festivals that take place here, there are many ways to soak up the local culture when you visit.
A great place to dive into the culture of Puerto Vallarta is the area around the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe. First of all, the church is the most iconic symbol of the city and it’s absolutely gorgeous.
In front of the church, you’ll find the Plaza de Armas. This is the main square of Puerto Vallarta and is a popular gathering place, especially in the evenings and on weekends. Come here on a Sunday night and you’ll often find people eating street food and dancing to traditional Mexican music.
There are lots of fun events that take place in Puerto Vallarta throughout the year. Mexican holidays such as Independence Day and Day of the Dead are quite big here, and there are also all different kinds of festivals — music, sports, art, food, and much more. And actually, soaking up the culture is one of the top things to do in Mexico as a whole.
3. Go for a Hike
While lounging on the beach is fun and all, Puerto Vallarta is also a great place to go for a hike. You don’t have to go far, either, as the town itself is built on a hill.
In town, there are a few easy walks you can do. The Cerro de La Cruz (Hill of the Cross) is a straight shot up from the Malecon and isn’t too difficult to reach. It takes about 20 minutes to get up the stairs here, where you can enjoy some incredible panoramic views of the town.
Another excellent choice is the hike that takes you from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas beach. You can catch the bus from the Romantic Zone down to Boca for 10 pesos, cross the bridge, and just walk along the coast. On the way, you’ll pass by a few stunning beaches that are practically deserted.
Eventually, you reach Las Animas beach, where you can reward yourself with some shrimp tacos and a margarita. Once you’re ready to go back, just hop in a water taxi back to Boca and get back on the bus. It’s an easy day trip from PV and tons of fun!
4. Explore Isla Cuale
The Rio Cuale flows in between El Centro and the Romantic Zone and out into the ocean. There’s also a small island in the river, known as Isla Cuale. This is a cool place to explore and it should definitely be on your list.
There are a few different bridges connecting the island to town, and there’s plenty to see and do here to keep you busy for a while. Peruse the market, drop in the cultural center, or just grab a drink and a bite to eat in one of the restaurants or bars.
On the weekends, the little beach is packed full of local families who come here to picnic and swim in the river. You can also catch live music in the afternoon over at Babel Bar, which is a really fun place to hang out.
5. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry
For a small city, Puerto Vallarta Mexico sure has an impressive number of restaurants, bars, and clubs. If all you want to do on your trip is lounge on the beach, go out for a nice dinner, dance all night and repeat, I wouldn’t judge you at all!
Save the diet for when you go back home because you’ll want to do some serious eating here. You’ve got amazing street tacos, local seafood joints, high-end restaurants, food trucks, and so much more. Save some room for some ice cream and churros if you can.
As far as drinking goes, PV has tons of options. Try the local craft beer at Monzon, give pulque a try at La Pulqueria, grab a margarita at Joe Jack’s, or sample some mezcal at a local cantina like La Casa De Hugo. The options are endless here.
After dinner and a few drinks, you’re ready to hit the town. There’s always something going on here, from stand-up comedy to local rock bands jamming out to late-night dance parties with DJs. The world is your oyster on a night out in Puerto Vallarta.
If you need some guidance in planning your trip, go ahead and bookmark this guide on how to spend one week in Puerto Vallarta.
Where to Eat in Puerto Vallarta
One of the best parts about traveling to Puerto Vallarta Mexico is going out to eat. From pulling up a stool at a taco truck to enjoying a candle-lit seafood dinner on the beach, you’ve got plenty of choices.
Here are three of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta — one for each meal of the day:
Breakfast – Fredy’s Toucan
Hours: Open 7 days a week from 8 AM-2:45 PM
Phone #: 01 322 223 0778
Location: Basilio Badillo 245, Romantic Zone (Click here for directions)
Rating on TripAdvisor: 4.5/5
This place is always bumping for breakfast and is popular with everyone. Locals, expats, and tourists alike all flock here to enjoy dishes like their famous Campesino breakfast or Mexican omelet. Be sure to come hungry, as their portions are quite massive here.
Fredy’s also has an impressive drink menu, from mimosas to cappuccinos to smoothies, you’ve got plenty of options. You might have to wait a bit for a table, but it’s well worth it. Prices are very reasonable here, especially for how much food they give you.
Lunch – Restaurante Dianita
Hours: Open 7 days a week from 8 AM-6 PM
Phone #: 01 322 107 7090
Location: Calle Francisco I. Madero 243, Romantic Zone (Click here for directions)
Rating on TripAdvisor: 4.5/5
There are plenty of touristy spots on the Malecon or the beach to eat lunch, but my recommendation goes to this local joint in the Romantic Zone. They have a different menu del dia (menu of the day) every day and it’s always delicious.
For the menu of the day, you can choose a soup and a main course, and you also get a refreshing agua fresca as well. The food is awesome, the staff are all super friendly, and best of all you can fill up for less than $5 here.
Dinner – La Palapa
Hours: Open 7 days a week from 8:30AM-11PM
Phone #: 01 322 222 5225
Location: Los Muertos Beach, Púlpito 105-3, Romantic Zone (Click here for directions)
Rating on TripAdvisor: 4.5/5
Having dinner on the beach while enjoying the sunset is definitely one of the highlights of a trip to Puerto Vallarta. This highly-rated restaurant has been a PV favorite since 1959 and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.
While they have an extensive menu and are open all day, my recommendation goes to a nice seafood dinner here. Order up their catch of the day and a tasty cocktail, and you’ve got yourself one amazing dinner experience.
For more, be sure to have a look at our guide to the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, which includes the three mentioned above plus ten tasty others.
Best Beaches in Puerto Vallarta
Most visitors to Puerto Vallarta Mexico are looking for a bit of sun and sand. Banderas Bay has a vast array of beaches to choose from, each offering something different.
The beaches of Puerto Vallarta are generally white sand, but not that blinding white sand you’ll find on the Caribbean side of Mexico. While some beaches are a bit rocky, they’re all fine for sunbathing and swimming.
Depending on the time of year, Puerto Vallarta doesn’t really get waves, so it’s not the best place to go boogie-boarding or surfing. You’ll have to head up the coast a bit to Sayulita if you’re chasing waves. Having said that, if you’re unsure of the ocean conditions, just ask your hotel or a local to advise you.
There are a few beaches right in town, while others require you to travel a short distance north or south along the bay. Here are three of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta:
Los Muertos Beach
This is the quintessential Puerto Vallarta beach. It’s located right in town and is the most popular beach to visit. There are plenty of restaurants and bars where you can get a sun lounger, or you can just bring your towel and plop down in the sand.
Here you’ll find the sail-shaped pier that has become an iconic symbol of the city. This is where you can catch water taxis to head south to places like Boca de Tomatlan or Yelapa.
There are plenty of fun activities on offer here, including paragliding and jet-skiing. You can also join in a game of beach volleyball, hire a mariachi band to serenade you, or just chill out and sip your margarita. Click here to get directions to Los Muertos beach.
Mismaloya
This beach is located south of town (click here for directions) and can be reached by bus or taxi. It’s a very famous place, as this is where the movie The Night of the Iguana was filmed. Starring Richard Burton (who was joined by his love interest Elizabeth Taylor), this film put a sleepy fishing town firmly on the tourist map.
Mismaloya has a few beachfront restaurants that will let you hang out and use chairs and umbrellas so long as you’re ordering. The best thing about this beach, though, is it’s proximity to the Los Arcos National Marine Park. Going on a SUP and snorkeling tour of Los Arcos is definitely one of the coolest things to do.
Las Gemelas
With a name meaning “the twins,” you actually get two beaches in one here! Las Gemelas is also located south of town, about halfway down to Mismaloya. You can check it on the map and get directions here.
This is a great beach to come to if you’re looking to escape the crowds. It’s kind of hidden in a way since you can only access the beaches from the fancy condos here or a steep and narrow path off the main road. You won’t find any facilities here, but it’s a fun place to spend a few hours if you bring a book and a cooler with food and drinks.
Top Tours in Puerto Vallarta
When you feel like getting up out of your sun longer, there are lots of awesome tours to choose from. You have water-based options like snorkeling or fishing, adventure activities like ziplining and ATV riding, and plenty of great foodie tours. Here are three of the absolute best tours in Puerto Vallarta:
Rhythms of the Night
TripAdvisor Rating: 4.5/5
Cost: $139 – $169 for VIP
Tour times: Tours depart Monday-Saturday at 5-5:30
How to book: Online (click here)
How does a Cirque du Soleil-esque show on a hidden beach with a delicious dinner and open bar sound? That’s exactly what you get when you sign up for Rhythms of the Night — one of the top Puerto Vallarta tours.
A boat brings you to the remote Las Caletas beach, where you sit down to a buffet dinner with the option to add free-flow drinks. Next up is the show, which is a mind-blowing combination of acrobatics and dancing. It’s an amazing show and a fun night for all.
Vallarta Food Tours: Original Downtown Tour
TripAdvisor Rating: 5/5
Cost: $49.99 for adults and $39 for children
Tour times: Tours run hourly starting at 10:30 and last about 3.5 hours
How to book: Online (click here), by phone (888-360-9847 US/Canada, 322-222-6117 Mexico)
Location: Av México 1193-A, 5 de Diciembre (click here for directions)
There are so many amazing local restaurants and street food vendors in Puerto Vallarta Mexico that it’s a bit overwhelming. For the uninitiated, it can be tough choosing where and what to eat.
Cue the folks at Vallarta Food Tours, who have several options for diving into the culinary offerings across town. Their original downtown tour is the perfect introduction into the food scene here. With nine different stops, you definitely get your money’s worth on this tour! Click here for Goats On The Road’s review of this tour company.
Marietas Islands
TripAdvisor Rating: 5/5
Cost: $80-100 for adults and $40-50 for children for islands, $170 for islands and hidden beach (adults only)
Tour times: Tours depart the Marina at 9 from Tuesday-Sunday; the Hidden Beach is only open Wednesday-Sunday
How to book: Online (click here) or by phone 322 180 0597 (Mexico)
Location: Delfines No.44, Sayulita (click here for directions)
You actually have to travel a bit from Puerto Vallarta to join this tour, but it’s well worth it. The Marietas are a group of uninhabited islands in Banderas Bay and they’re home to a postcard-worthy “hidden beach.” Many people run tours here, but the one from Chica Locca comes highly recommended.
On their tour, you’ll get to enjoy snorkeling, SUPing, or kayaking, and they even have a few water slides on the boat! Throw in an open bar, a tasty meal, and plenty of hammocks to chill on, and you’ve got one awesome day out at sea. They’re located up in Sayulita, but you can meet them at the pier in La Cruz if you’re staying in PV.
Is Puerto Vallarta Safe?
This is a very common question from people considering planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta Mexico, and that’s understandable. It’s definitely a good idea to investigate the safety situation before booking a vacation anywhere in the world.
I’m happy to tell you that the short answer is a resounding “Yes!” Puerto Vallarta is a safe place to travel.
In other places in the State of Jalisco (such as the large city of Guadalajara) you need to be a bit more cautious when you travel there, but Puerto Vallarta is safe.
While it’s certainly true that there are some rather dangerous areas of Mexico, these are generally located near the borders of each state and are far away from Puerto Vallarta. Of course, it’s always the crime and violence that makes the evening news in other countries, leading to a skewed view of the overall safety of Mexico.
To put it into perspective, it would be like canceling a trip to Myrtle Beach because you heard about violent crime in Baltimore. Would you cancel your trip to the Greek Islands because of violence in Syria? Seems a bit ridiculous, doesn’t it?
After all, Mexico is the 14th largest country in the world. If you put it on top of a map of Europe, Mexico stretches all the way from Ireland to Turkey. Obviously, not all areas of Mexico are the same when it comes to safety!
As one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Mexico, safety is a huge concern in Puerto Vallarta. The city has twice the amount of police required by the federal government, and violent crime here is incredibly rare.
I’ve been here for about two years now and the worst thing that’s happened has been getting overcharged on a taxi here and there. We take the local buses, walk around with our computers and cameras, and we even stay out late partying once in a while.
That being said, you should still take the normal precautions you would anywhere else. Leave important things like your passport locked in your hotel room, preferably in a safe, and keep a copy on you. Don’t carry a lot of cash on you, especially not in a wallet hanging out of your back pocket.
Taxi drivers are honest and hardworking people here, for the most part. Of course, there are some bad apples who will try to overcharge you. Just agree to a price beforehand and all is well. If you want to be extra cautious, take down their number just in case you need to report them. Don’t accept rides from unmarked cabs, especially the ones at the airport who will surely rip you off.
Just like you would anywhere else, you need to exercise some common sense here. Stick to well-lit areas at night, don’t go flashing your shiny new iPhone on a crowded bus, don’t accept drinks from random people, and all that good stuff.
Speaking of drinking, there’s plenty of that going on here. Puerto Vallarta Mexico is definitely a party destination, especially around American spring break and Semana Santa (Holy Week). I encourage you to go out and enjoy yourself here, but don’t overdo it. Tourists who end up in sketchy situations here tend to find themselves there as a result of drugs and alcohol.
Unfortunately, it seems like break-ins are becoming increasingly common in Puerto Vallarta. This isn’t really a concern if you’re staying in a hotel or a fancy all-inclusive resort, but more so if you prefer to rent apartments from sites like Airbnb. We’ve never had a problem, but know people who have had their places broken into. Just make sure you properly lock everything when you go out and when you’re sleeping (and only stay at reputable places). Plus, never open the door to any strangers.
Before traveling to Puerto Vallarta, or anywhere for that matter, make sure you have travel insurance and that you understand the policy. If you have an emergency here, the number to call is 911, so at least that’s easy for those coming from north of the border.
Having said all of this, crime can happen anywhere in the world. Be aware, but not paranoid. Do your research, seek the advice of locals and enjoy your stay in Puerto Vallarta.
Ready for Puerto Vallarta Mexico?
Well, that’s it for this guide, amigos. It took me two years of research (and by research, I mean eating tacos and drinking beer on the beach) to come up with all this information for you.
I hope it helps you plan an awesome trip to Puerto Vallarta. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your visit to this little slice of paradise in Mexico that I call home. If you have any questions or comments about PV, please leave a comment below!

2018-04(MAR)-Monday-26th---WA NEWS bits --- and my personal comments with them.
------------------------------------------------------------------
This story smells like the usual kinds of 'people'.....by their actions.......
You see (according to the "grandmother" (not any mother or father) speaking afterwards), the crowd ONLY went beserk and got aggressive after being told to leave, then the crowd went beserk and pelted Police with rocks and bricks, jumped fences and ran through gardens, and the grandmother BLAMED ALL OF IT ON THE POLICE BECAUSE...."They should have just asked people to leave peacefully, but they came in with their big shields and stuff like that, it scared the kids.”
So the innocent gentle 'kids' simply got "scared" and decided to attack the Police just like......the usual kinds of 'people' who attack Police......
Yep, getting their grandmother to try to paint them all as innocent angels who got innocently 'scared' and so only then launched into violentally attacking Police.....
What a load of shit......

WA NEWS:--------- Five teenagers arrested after riot squad break up out-of-control party in Warnbro
Jordan Cutts -- PerthNow -- February 26, 2018 11:45AM
FIVE teenagers were arrested over the weekend after the riot squad was called in to break up an out-of-control 21st birthday party in Warnbro.
Officers from the Regional Operations Group as well as local police were called to the house in Tucuma Court just after 9.30pm on Saturday after a number of complaints from neighbours.
Just half an hour later the party was declared an out of control gathering as police allege they were pelted with rocks and bricks in their attempt to disperse the crowd.
With several police cars lining the nearby streets officers blocked off the road so there was only one way out for the crowd - thought to be upwards of 100 youths.
Neighbours claim the party-goers got aggressive after being told to leave.
Toni Nicol, a nearby resident, said they jumped fences and ran through gardens to avoid officers.
"When the police turned up and asked them to disperse, that’s when they all got very aggressive,” she said.
“As soon as the police got on the loud speaker it was like rats from a sinking ship. We had some jump on the fence and up over the roof... pelting beer cans and stuff like that at the police.”
The party is thought to have drawn a sizeable crowd after the host advertised the celebrations on Facebook.
Posting on social media, they wrote:
"Everyone come Warnbro party tonight. Like and comment plus ones so I can add use (sic) to the event. Dj and photographer. $5 entry, $10 after 9pm.”
But the host’s grandmother blamed police for the subsequent disorder, alleging they went about dispersing the crowd in the wrong way.
"They didn’t handle it properly,” she said.
“They should have just asked people to leave peacefully, but they came in with their big shields and stuff like that, it scared the kids.”
The five teens arrested, three men and two women aged 17 and 18, will face court at a later date charged with disorderly behaviour, street drinking and giving false details to police.

In this WA NEWS item below, they talk about the statue as if it was the REAL PERSON.......
Because obviously a real person just (NOT) sits forever on a horse in the ocean......
The bronze statue of C.Y O'Connor on a horse in the surf is in very bad taste right from the start because it certainly doesn't commemorate the man and his life's great achievements at all but only celebrates and brings unwanted attention to the poor mans suicide in the very early 20th century.
But the facile artist who made the statue and plunked it in the ocean surf is so very proud of his work and wants to fix it all up and get it back to how it all was.........yeah, as if that could bring C.Y O'Connor back to life.....
Instead of focussing on the statue subjects terrible misery which lead him to suicide, try instead reading about the man and his great achievements and his fights in getting so many things achieved which still stand to this day at---- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._Y._O%27Connor
And the wikipedia page info states as a reason for the suicide death in 1902......., "It is claimed that local Noongar Aboriginal people, unhappy with his destruction of the limestone bar across the Swan River at Point Walter, placed a curse on O'Connor. and that "... they sang him to make him crazy", and his suicide was the end result. O'Connor took his own life on 10 March 1902, less than a year before Forrest officially commissioned the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme, by shooting himself while riding his horse into the water at Robb Jetty, south of Fremantle"

The hunt is on for a vandal believed to have cut the torso off the iconic C.Y. O'Connor statue off the coast of Coogee.
The City of Cockburn called for help solving the suspected crime on Monday afternoon, after they received reports about damage done to the statue.
"The City is investigating how Tony Jones' famous bronze sculpture of celebrated 1800s engineer C Y O'Connor at North Coogee Beach came to be damaged over the weekend," the city said in a social media post.
"We have received numerous reports of the damage which has left the 19-year-old statue cut-off at the torso with the rider's hips and the horse still in place, 30 metres offshore."
Irish engineer Charles Yelverton O'Connor was responsible for the design and construction of the Fremantle Harbour, and the Goldfields Water Supply from Mundaring to Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie.
The North Coogee monument commemorates the moment O'Connor shot himself at the beach while he rode his horse out to sea in 1902.
It was first erected in 1999, and was created by local sculptor Toby Jones.
Mr Jones spoke to 6PR's Simon Beaumont following the revelations, and said it was "pretty gut-wrenching" to see his work so damaged.
"I wish I knew more," he said.
"I suppose anything's fixable but it's so sad.
"One potential positive is that maybe the piece is in the water, but I don't know if that's the case.
"If it's in the water and can be retrieved then it can be welded back into place without too much drama.
"But if someone has done it on purpose that'd be horrific.
"It doesn't get any worse than that for me, or for anyone who values how we do things.
"It's pretty low stuff if that's whats happened. It would have to be rebuilt. We could do it, we'd have to get the rest of it off and return it to the studio and rebuild it from that section up.
"But it's pretty gut-wrenching,. I don't want to get overdramatic about it but its offensive and disappointing.
"When you do a bit of work like that... it doesn't make sense and needs to be explained."
Anyone with information relating to the vandalism has been asked to contact the city at [email protected].

BTW, on a personal note, as a teenager on a long weekend holiday, I once camped with work friends for several days in a tent on vacant bush ground by the old Mandurah wooden bridge which was later replaced by this modern concrete one much later on that is in this NEWS story below.
I would only tell dear Fliss the story of that weekend......if she and I were together again....but I suspect I will take it to my grave. - How apt. - And applicable to this NEWS story below......

According to witnesses, the woman stopped her car on Mandurah Road and climbed over the railing around 1.40pm before jumping into the water below.

The woman, who is aged in her 30s, made her way to land in Erskine where she was assessed by paramedics.
The woman sustained only minor injuries in the jump and was taken to Peel Health Campus for assessment.

I love you dear Fliss and so very much want to be with you. - And so many good things of the past in my life that you will NEVER know of when I'm dead unless I told you in person. Nobody else knows about them. And I promised to keep them secret....which I did. So I expect I will take them to my grave.
