I just couldnt merge the two series so I made separate ones. To be fair, I haven’t really read 4koa so my opinion may be misguided but whatever (and I also haven’t watched 7ds in a while also, so…) PLEASE hear me out anyway😭🙏

I don’t have much to say about favorite character, I’m literally in love with Howzer and I’ve never loved a character as much as him. for Chion, he’s just an asshole and that’s enough for me. He has a lot of potential as a character and I’m really excited for him in the series, I would not be his friend IRL though because he would literally be the worst person to be around. And you know what, everyone can hate him but I will always appreciate him😚💖Gilthunder, Diane and Donny are runner ups for fav character!

To be honest, I don’t TOTALLY dislike Ban but…idk. I don’t like him very much, but not only for the very obvious Elaine related reasons. Something he did at the beginning of 7ds kinda stuck with me, when he tried to kill Meliodas to get Elaine back. I guess it’s supposed to be, like, heartbreaking that he wants his woman back so bad he’d kill his best friend???? Mid battle???? Like girl this is not about you rn😭 Idk if my friend tried to kill me to get her boyfriend back, I think I’d have to kill her idk that’s just me😭 and I’m really sorry to the Ban fans because I know he’s a good character and I get that he becomes a better friend later, that scene just stuck with me though

I feel like this might not be a super unpopular opinion but I didn’t really like Escanor at first. Ig I just didn’t really care about him. I like his night time self, he’s very sweet and dorky. The thing I like about SUPER confident and cocky characters is them getting taken down a notch, which he was, twice, so it’s fine. For Tristan, I’m so sorry but I really didn’t care for him at all😭 Before I read most of the scenes with him in it, I thought he was SOOOO bland and boring. Like, he was just nice, and loved, and that’s it. He seems like a character that thinks everything is his fault, which isnt a problem with him or his character, I just don’t really like characters like that. I like that he looks more like Elizabeth, I think that’s nice. Anyway I like him now and I think he’s more complex than I thought before!

I dislike Guinevere for the obvious reasons that everyone hates her for so I don’t have much to say😭I guess to cover the least favorite ship category, I don’t like her and Lancelot together and that one scene was super weird. I like her design tbh, she’s super cute, but yeah…

I honestly don’t dislike Veronica, I just like her design more than her herself😭She’s super caring and sweet, and loyal, just very abrasive sometimes. When she interacts with people and her family especially, you can tell that she really cares, even if she’s kinda mean. Anyway I love da bob and her dress, it’s very cute😌 on the flip side, I like Tioreh herself WAY more than her design. I honestly cannot pin down what I don’t like about her design, I just really really don’t like it😭 I’m sorryyyyyy

For the fav ships, I don’t have too much explaining to do (I’m gonna keep saying that and I’m lying every single time). For Gilthunder x Howzer, I just really love the friends to lovers trope. Although a One-sided! Howzer x Gilthunder is probably more realistic. Anyway I love their friendship as it is :) To be honest I never liked rivals to lovers until this Chion x Donny phase I have going on right now, I have no explanation for this I just think they’re cute.

Elizabeth is super sweet, and honestly I don’t mind her voice, she is such a caring friend. Jade is just like, the most normal character I think ever so I would be his friends irl, probably😭

I would NOT be friends with Gowther, I feel like he would expose me so often, and like, one of my biggest fears is that someone is reading my mind, so he’s literally my nightmare, and I don’t wanna know him😭

Lovesquare Variations that matter

So I was just thinking about this, and while there are lots of different outfits and monikers that our heroes go through, there are only a few that actually change how they interact with each other. I’m not counting joke identities like Marino the clumsy waiter or Comrade Mayo here.

Adrien Identities: Adrien Agreste, Chat Noir, Aspik, Cat Walker

Marinette Identities: Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Ladybug, Multimouse

I’m gonna skip past the main Lovesquare of Adrienette, Ladrien, Marichat, and Ladynoir because anyone with any familiarity with the show already knows those, and skip to the more interesting side ones, some of which have never gotten a chance to actually happen, but would theoretically have interesting and unique interactions. I’m leaving out ones that are basically the same interactions with different names, like how Multichat is Marichat, and Aspbug is Ladrien.

That leaves us with:

Snekmouse: This one has an actual ship name, along with fanfics and fanart, ever since we first found out that Adrien was getting the Snake and Marinette was getting the Mouse. Both of them know each other’s identities, but don’t KNOW that the other person knows, which leads to the two of them getting to be more bold with each other underneath the veil of their perceived anonymity. Could be especially useful for resolving misunderstandings.

Aspik/Marinette: Haven’t actually seen this one show up except once, I think, in a compilation, weirdly enough, but they WOULD have a unique interaction. Aspik doesn’t know that Marinette knows he’s Adrien, after all. I figure this interaction would mostly be like Adrienette, but with Adrien attempting to be a little more suave, and Marinette maybe being able to talk to him a little better... maybe.

Cat Walker/Marinette: All of the Cat Walker interactions are unique, since Adrien not only has an identity here that Marinette doesn’t know of in any of her forms, but a different personality as well. It’d be interesting to see him attempt to be the perfect prince with her. I wonder whether she’d see through him and realize he wasn’t comfortable acting that way if she spent more time with him? I could see him opening up to her about his reasons for putting up this facade, maybe even admitting to being Chat Noir, and honestly telling her how he’d been thinking and feeling the past few weeks, that he didn’t think Ladybug liked or valued him at all, and he wanted to assume a form where he’d matter again, because if she didn’t need or want him... well, there was a reason he’d had no energy the past week or so.

Cat Walker/Multimouse: I think Multimouse might mention how she had to give up her Miraculous before because Chat Noir found out who she was, possibly leading to Cat Walker badmouthing Chat Noir as being untrustworthy, and Multimouse explaining that wasn’t true, leading to Cat Walker going over all the ways that Ladybug didn’t trust Chat Noir (according to what Plagg told him supposedly) and Multimouse refuting him. Or trying to, since she couldn’t say she was Ladybug.

Ladywalker: Now this one, we actually saw. Very suave, very gentlemanly interaction on Cat Walker’s part, leaving Ladybug a blushy mess. Turns out, she has a really hard time concentrating when head-over-heels for someone. They did work well together, but ultimately, she missed her usual kitty.

I was using my personal Twitter (or I guess X now) account that has nothing about B//leach on it, and I still saw tweets calling us IRs toxic and the worst part of the fandom, and I just remembered the terrible messages I got for years just for liking IR

The reason why I saw it was someone else saying that they still didn’t animate R//enji in that scene where R//ukia thinks about other people but him, which I found it weird back then myself how she never really gave all that much thought to him, and seemed annoyed by him. I know many IRs hate him, but as someone who was back then a huge R//enji fan I still found it weird how one sided a lot of that relationship seemed. That’s why I stopped shipping them. I shipped R//enruki before I even shipped IR, but I have no proof bc I wasn’t in B//leach spaces when I first read the manga, if anyone wonders.

It’s still weird to me how I just can’t enjoy my ship in peace without seeing something online about the fans/my ship outside of Tumblr or even my fan account on Twitter (which I no longer use for this reason)

Like I just see all these amazing people I’ve met in my years in the fandom painted as the bad guy, even when they were there for me during some of my worst moments or even recently to just say “I’m so sorry for your loss” after a post I made, and I just feel powerless. And I know now in anime history we’re gonna be remembered as shitty people and not as some of the most creative people I know, and honestly we put more thought in our analysis than K//ubo himself probably did, all because of a ship.

I rue the day when the ships became canon instead of simply, everyone just staying friends and not having time skips that added nothing to the story except some weird analogy with the first chapter, that made 0 sense as an allusion bc the kids don’t even look that much like the parent they’re supposedly alluding too, and then the story never continued

I tried to be happy for finally seeing Kia’s bankai animated but I’m just sad that I can’t escape the hellhole that is B//leach

I adored most of the characters and the story and it got me through tough times as a teen/young adult, but after everything, yeah, I’m not ashamed to say I care for about 4 or 5 characters and their interactions and I don’t want to even watch the anime ever again or have got to do anything with other work by K//ubo. The fandom just makes me sad. Not even mad. Just sad. Like I wasted 8 years of my life liking something I can now only relate to the people who hurt rewriting history and coming of as victims

Idk if some of you have seen those tweets and I’m gonna assume tiktoks, but if you guys are just as tired as I am, I’m here for you

We talked about our Kuroshitsuji ships some time ago, here is the post if you’re interested! But in short, we kind of ship him with William because their interactions in the Circus Arc were hilarious and William was 100% playing hard to get. I don’t think I’ve even drawn them at all, but I should do it at least once… I should draw all of our Kuroshitsuji ships at least once, to be fair :(

Ironically, we don’t have any ships or even thoughts about Grell, sorry for disappointing! Maybe it’s due to the fact that while we were hating on Kuroshitsuji all those years (dark times lol), Grell was pretty much the only character I would draw anyway because of the cool design… But not really, to be honest; it’s actually more likely due to the fact that none of the Grell ships really clicked with us :( As for the position, it’s easy to see Grell as a bottom, but it doesn’t really help in this case.

YES This is the treatment Silver deserves, his father would be so proud lol a little jealous, but still!

It is fun though... I always say it, but twst cast is very interesting, so a lot of characters who seem to be just a random pick could have such nice chemistry that it’s easy to start shipping them after just one interaction or a voice line. I love it so much lol

Hi, Anon! Sorry for the late reply.

I haven’t talked about it, and unfortunately I still can’t really talk about him. We are very intrigued by both Fellow and Gidel, but we haven’t seen their event yet. So I can’t make proper judgments and come up with any headcanons :(

We don’t really care about the EN release because we watch fan translations on youtube, but we just don’t have time to watch anything these days unfortunately. But when we do watch it, you’ll definitely notice, because there is no way I won’t draw Fellow at least a couple of times. His design and his sleazy faces are just too much fun lol

why i like them: i have been drawn to dragon trainers ever since playing hgss so of course i love this man. also absolutely love his cocky attitude, i think he has such an alluring personality. on a real note he’s so fine he gets me blushing lol oh and his lil tooth that sticks out :33

why i don’t: epitome of every gimmick i hate in battles LOL absolutely hate double battles and hate weather affects even more.

fave episode/movie: didn’t watch the anime after johto and definitely didn’t watch journeys so … no answer and i don’t feel like he appears enough in twilight wings to give an answer lol I’m gonna go with the microsecond he was in gotcha lol

fave line: “i look this good even when i lose. it’s a real curse” oh absolutely sir 🫡

otp: multishipper!!! so my first ship was raihan and leon - which i still really enjoy but my all time fave is raihan and piers 🖤🧡 they have rotted my brain so badly

brotp: sonia and raihan. like how he calls her miss clever clogs. i wanna be around to witness their leon gossip sessions lol. hc but i love the idea of them growing up in the gym challenge together and sonia always finding raihan super hilarious while her best friend nessa thought he was so full of himself lol. honestly i think he’s just super popular and social so gets along with every gym leader pretty well

headcanon: talked about this briefly in my tags, but a very special hc to me is that all dragon trainers come from a singular clan before splitting apart where they now live in the different regions. lance and raihan are cousins and are considered the most esteemed and powerful trainers in their clan and have had a friendly rivalry since being kids. despite bickering due their completely different attitudes and outlooks on life and what it means to be a dragon trainer, they also bring out positives in eachother. lance made raihan appreciate the culture of their clan more (which in turn helped him appreciate his vault job even more) and raihan taught lance how to loosen up and not feel so pressured by the very strict johto branch of dragon trainers. oh and he’s also great with kids and kids love him for how goofy he can be lol

wish: definitely wish we saw more of the gentle side of him that’s hinted to be there both via the game and anime.

my nickname for them: rai-rai🥺 ever since seeing that piers calls him that in the manga. fuels my shipping brain and overall just a super cute name

why i like them: omg. my all time favourite gym leader and in my top 3 galar characters. love that they fed into the concept of alt people being teddy bears despite outwards appearances, reminds me of alot of people i knew growing up in the scene myself. loveee how protective he is of marnie and in general how much he loves his hometown and people around him. just an absolute sweetie 😭

why i dont: actually cant think of one reason or element i dont like, perfect character imo!!! is it basic to say the scene of him singing with no background vocals? why do him like that😭😭😭

fave episode/movie: same answer as raihans but seeing that one microsecond in twilight wings of him saying he doesn’t do encores changed me as a person lmao

otp: kbnz everydayyy, despite minimal interactions (lol the shippers struggle) every interaction he had with raihan had insane undertones it got me feeling like i shouldn’t of been watching lmao (to be a fly on the wall tho LOL).

brotp: piers and …. sonia too lol (this girl needs more friends!!!). really loved them with hop + the player in post game and think stressed and overwhelmed sonia could benefit from calm and collected piers… so cute. i’m so attracted to the opposites attract trope, both platonically and/or romantically and they fit that perfectly lol

headcanon: while always on the more reserved side, i love the idea of younger gym challengers piers being more boisterous (in his own way) and loved the party and gig scene in early spikemuth* - much to the suprise of those who only know him in his adult years. however, when the responsibility of raising marnie came into the picture, he relaxed quite a lot and now his old man tendencies tend to come out even with his fully adult friends and in his relationship. he’s the first people come to when they need advice cause despite being overly cautious and a worry-wart when it comes to marnie, he is quite grounded which comforts a lot of people. what a sweetie!

I was in the fandom the cookie needle incident occurred in! It was Undertale. TLDR we still don’t know why the artist got a needle cookie because the culprit was never caught. The reason it got tied into antis and shipping stuff was because someone on Tumblr took the opportunity to go “it wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t drawn my rival ship minor/adult!”

r/Hobbydrama has a write-up, but unfortunately the OP spends most of it going “lol Undertale fans and shippers” and right when shipping would actually be relevant it gets completely ignored. The actual incident is shoehorned in with unfounded assumptions, and OP finishes with “maybe don’t ship adults with minors”. So I’m gonna attempt my own write up from what I remember. I urge your followers to correct me if I get things wrong!

Once again: The culprit was never caught so we have no idea why they did what they did. Keep this in mind.

A popular Taiwanese fanartist called Avimedes was at a convention in 2017. She got some gifts there, among them a cookie. When she took a bite her tongue was pierced by a needle. I think it was bad enough she had to go to the hospital? Either way she posted a picture of the bloodied cookie and needlea on her plurk, stating she had no idea who did it. A screenshot of it was posted and spread on Tumblr. The first reblogs were of people reacting with horror.

Then someone reblogged with (paraphrased) “Sure it was wrong, but it probably wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t drawn Frisk/Sans.”

Context: Frisk is the protagonist of the game, implied to be a child but very open for headcanons and self-inserts. Sans is THE most popular character in Undertale and thus the most shipped one. He interacts a lot with Frisk, so while it was never the fandom OTP for him it was pretty popular. People got around the age thing by simply drawing Frisk as a teenager/adult. Avimedes was one of them.

Not that the reblogger, who just so happened to ship Sans in the fandom OTP Soriel, cared. They might’ve been a BNF? Either way now legions of Soriel shippers were reblogging that version of the post, either as is or with additions about how minor/adult is wrong, Frisk is a child, [insert typical ship and anti arguments here], until people were outright defending the culprit.

The incident got posted only a day later to r/Undertale, but by them rumors were already flying about ships being the cause. Reddit OP made it clear the culprit hadn’t been caught and that these were just rumors, but they still took the time to denounce the culprit and people defending them for those reasons.

One game of telephone later and we have today’s “artist got feed needle cookie by an anti!”

Because of this there’s an now forgotten incident that happened few months to a year later. People started talking about how the culprit had been caught, and it turned out they had been one of Avimedes’ fans! I can’t remember if a reason was ever stated? Either way this got spread for a while until people got suspicious and looked up the source.

The source was a Soriel shipper going “Trust me guys! Also this totally had nothing to do with ships!” See, while it was (still is) the fandom OTP… turns out people will side-eye its shippers if it seems like they’re fine with people being seriously injured if they’re rival shippers. Once it was clear it was damage control people stopped spreading those claims.

So while anon is right in that we can’t say it was because of a ship because we don’t know, people were damn quick to defend the culprit because of their shipping bias so it IS still tied into anti-stuff and fandom purity. Kinda side-eyeing anon for trying to down-play it, because it certainly had an effect on Undertale fandom and ships.

After some research I’m also gonna side-eye anon for bringing up the claims about animal abuse and scams. The only sources I can are from 2021, from a few people going “source: trust me guys”, several years after the fact.

Even if they’re true, and even if that’s why the culprit did it?

People still thought it was fine an artist got needles in her cookies because she created content for their rival ship.

Did he ever face trial for what he did in the film? How does Silver work in your timeline?

I’m really excited for this one, y’all! I’m totally open to people sending Asks about the story I’ve got going on for this blog! Continuities are really fluid here when it comes to outside interactions, but for the actual plot, I’ve got some good tea to spill. I sort of latched onto the idea that the story starts with the Hispaniola still on its way back to Bristol, but it’s being attacked by pirates. Basically like an alternate universe where it takes place at the end of the movie, and in the opening of the PC game.

Only Silver would participate in fighting off the pirates because I think– based on what the sources I read about the ending of the Treasure Island book said– Silver convinced Dr. Livesey that he was on their side and would help at any opportunity he could when they left the island, and he got a cut of the money. In short, he fits into my story as part of the main cast crew until they return to Bristol, where I’m assuming he does go to trial since he needed Jim as a witness. My guess is that Silver got to go back to work as the ship's cook, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of the crew unanimously agreed that they’d rather avoid the risk of Silver poisoning them, so they just keep him walking around to help with other tasks.

As for the interactions with my OCs…

Four pirates and a disgruntled captain are gonna be pretty guarded once the dust settles. And something tells me that the civilians and sailor aboard are going to probably have some trust issues after the whole "hiring pirates unknowingly" thing.

HELLO, IVE JUST FINISHED WATCHING WEDNESDAY

because i am the biggest dumbest nerd when it comes to the addams family: ive made a crappy list of why wednesday is everything i hoped for and more and why it is absolutely fucking perfect. spoilers.

im not entirely sure on how to start slow with this one so im getting right fucking into it. enjoy reading the disaster of my thoughts on this masterpiece:

AMAZING CASTING. jenna is incredible as wednesday, catherine and luiz are the perfect morticia and gomez, i adored seeing christina ricci KICKING ASS. gwendoline christie was amazing as weems, fred armisen as fester???? lost my shit he was so perfect. i don’t think there was a single cast member i wasn’t amazed with.

no genuinely i loved all of the nevermore students

fell in love w enid so fast omg i was rooting for her so hard her arc was so awesome (her and ajax are so cute too)

THE WEDNESDAY/PUGSLEY DYNAMIC WAS SO ON POINT they literally have the actual best sibling dynamic

i now know that you have not lived until you’ve seen wednesday addams stuck in a love triangle. she is not a character that you would expect to have a romantic interest but now in my mind she’s just beautifully a-spec and probably demiromantic. yes obviously i love xavier.

don’t get mad at me but i don’t ship her w enid that much?? at least not romantically but hey i would not complain if we had a polycule or qpr!!!

also it was genuinely so cute to see wednesday making friends like. why was i sobbing so much when she hugged enid. holy fuck.

THE DANCE SCENE. SHES AN ICON SHES A LEGEND AND SHE IS THE MOMENT

i am referring to both her actual dancing and ofc “they couldn’t even spring for real pigs blood. its only paint.” so real.

cant even stop myself from mentioning that jenna ortega looks very hot covered in blood which happens a lot in this series. like almost every episode. jesus fucking christ i am so in love with her.

i am a huge edgar allen poe nerd so i fucking adored every little reference to his works. also the idea that he was an outcast is so real to me.

speaking of outcasts: ngl definitely could’ve come up with a better name, “outcasts” just made it sound weirdly like some awkward teen high school drama but you get used to it

wednesday’s visions were so cool??? i loved the whole goody addams thing their interactions were really cool and god i just was not expecting that at all.

ok tbh it was really weird that her name was goody, since “goody” is the puritan equivalent of “mrs.” (its short for goodwife) so idk why they did that but ok i’m still here for it

honestly in general they do a really good job of keeping you guessing. i was suspicious about almost every single character throughout the whole series.

in retrospect i should’ve known tyler was gonna be an asshole from the start cause. i mean. his name is tyler. no offense to my tylers, but be real when have you ever seen a tv show character named tyler that wasn’t a douche. i’ll wait.

i’ve typed tyler too many times and it no longer looks like a real name

episodes are nice and long but i obviously wish the series was longer, but it was super bingable and i’m probably gonna rewatch it 3 million times until the next season inevitably comes out.

not to be dorky but i loved how every episode title was a pun w the word “woe”

i have really horrible media literacy in the sense that i overthink EVERYTHING so to me like almost everything in that was beautifully executed symbolism and maybe it was but when i say i lost my shit when i noticed wednesday stand on enid’s side of the room and fsr thats the only example i can think of rn BUT STILL

overall 5 stars 10/10 show i cant wait for more i love the plot i love the characters i love the cast i will be recommending it to everyone ik and more

No okay but @venjamin-kingdomhearts ‘s joke/idea about Ventus and Repliku as a ship hit me like a train wreck.

Because now that everything is fixed, they’re all together and happy, the trios are together — what’s going on with these two?

As much as Ventus loves Aqua and Terra, they treat him more like a kid than an equal. It’s hard to hang out with Twilight kids bc he feels either like a stand in for Roxas or an awkward shadow. Sora would always welcome him, but regardless of how close they are in heart, Sora is lighthearted and free in a way that he just can’t make himself be. Being on Destiny islands is like trying to look in on a normal life that Ven never got. It’s hard, and it feels lonely. Even trying to travel with the Destiny trio makes him feel like a 4th wheel; there’s so many inside jokes he just doesn’t know how to laugh at.

And Repliku. The only people he knows are Namine and Riku and Sora. He tried to kill the Destiny island kids and it’s still awkward interacting with them at all. Even with his memories of the island, it’s not like he’s a real person right? How could he ever build connections with someone who has no memories of who you are, and tons of expectations of who you should be like? Namine is happy to talk with him, but the memories and struggles in the Organization still put a strain in their relationship. Namine more than anything wants to have a happy normal life, and even if she will never quite be just an average kid, she really gets people in a way that Repliku just doesn’t. She can’t be there just to entertain him, and he can see her struggle to get him to fit in with friendly gatherings.

So they both find themselves alone a lot. Walking through cities and towns, watching sunsets and starts, wandering the worlds to fill up their days. Maybe trying to pick up a hobby like astronomy or drawing, but always finding themselves back to training. It’s what they’ve always known, as far along as their real memories exist.

So why couldn’t they notice each other training? Outside Disney castle, or Yen Sid’s tower, or around the Land of Departure, and step in to say hi?

‘Would you like a sparring partner?’ Repliku would say.

‘Can you show me how you did that move?’ Ventus would ask.

An opening here and there, hesitant questions and banter slowly becoming more confident:

‘You know it’s funny, but I feel like we only ever meet up at these bright sunny places, you ever been to Halloweentown?’

“You think those guys ever eat anything but paopu fruit?” Repliku.

“Nah, but at least it’s better than Twilight Town, I swear everyone of them is just obsessed.” Ventus.

A glance from Repliku, smirk on his face,

“You know based on the company we keep, you might say we’re the only ones with taste.”

And Ventus’s ugly snort makes Repliku’s smile turn real.

And slowly it would turn into other conversations:

‘Sometimes it’s hard, you know? Seeing them move on? I feel like I’m always just on the edge of the next threat.’

‘I don’t know how to get back to a normal I never had.’

And conversations turn to invitations turn to planning meeting ups turn to suddenly always being by their side, or at least just a text away.

And one day, Ventus tries to deal Riku a shovel talk for Sora and just fails spectacularly. Repliku, ‘happening to be by’ just starts cackling at the scene, and Riku looks concerned and confused more than anything.

So Ventus snags him arm in a fit of pique and says something like ‘if you date my brother I’m gonna date yours!’ It had been meant as a threat, Ventus thinks, but Riku is looking worried for his sanity, and Repliku’s face has gone blank. And so he drops his arm and falls awkwardly silent. He leaves.

Repliku and Riku share a confused glance and a nod: ‘we’re going to just pretend this never happened, and spare us all the embarrassment’ is what they say without words. But Repliku doesn’t drop it.

He go out and finds Ventus, where he always goes to brood, and sits down next to him.

“Did you mean that?” Repliku asks, staring forward. “I know you speak before you think, sometimes, but you sounded serious for a moment.”

It’s quiet for a long moment, and Ventus is tense beside him.

Repliku swallows and his voice is weaker with his next words, “For you to have said that at all, means you must have been thinking about it, right?”

Another moment passes, and Repliku has run out of steam. If something is going to change here, it’s going to have to be at Ventus’s behest.

Finally, he speaks, “Would you still treat me the same, if I said yes?” His voice sounds rough, like he’s been crying.

“No,” Repliku says, and Venus startles, head snapping to the side. As Repliku turns to meet his shocked expression, he can feel a grin on his face, so beyond relieved, “I’m not sure I should treat a boyfriend the same as just a friend. Though I don’t think we’ve ever really just been friends, hmm?”

He nudges Ventus’s frozen shoulder, and suddenly find himself half on the ground. He’s near tackled them both, arms wrapped tight around Repliku. It’s uncomfortable and he feels trapped, but he can’t bring himself to push him away just yet.

“Is that a yes from you, then?”

Ventus nods against his shoulder, and once his frees his arms, they sit there together for a long time, just watching the stars.

I’ve come to realize that I might have a weakness for ships based on, like, one or very few strong interactions between characters and then nothing else besides that XD

Like, one of my favourite ships to this day, and also one of my firsts, was PruCan (Prussia and Canada) from Hetalia, right? And they don’t even interact in canon. Their only interaction is from this random side project the author did, and in, well, history XD And even in actual human history they have barely ever crossed paths in any legitimate way.

And in BNHA, where this realization came from, I ship Shoutoko (Shouji Mezou and Tokoyami Fumikage) so ridiculously much. Like, I freak out if they’re in the same frame for longer than a second. I just got to the training camp and the test of courage, and that is where their only strong interaction comes from. And y’all, I am SO HYPED! I’m so ready, bring it on! My shipper heart is hungry for any crumbs the show is gonna give!

I will go down with the ship that is Al and Finn and I don’t care what anyone else says, you’re a genius and perfect for writing such a story !

Finally al and Finn kiss and it’s everything I ever wanted ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I’ve been wanting this almost as much as al and finn and reading it happen makes me happier than anything!

Since we’ve seen so much from finns POV I don’t think we’ve gotten a clear idea about how much al wanted finn this whole time. I only realized it when he went into the bathroom where finn was to give him a “clean towel” hahahah

Part of me wanted finn and al to really *do it (let that twink be destroyed hhahaha) but I know that finn is inexperienced and al doesn’t wanna pressure him and both want to take this relationship seriously— I can’t wait to see what obstacles they have to overcome next -

Vance and Terence are the biggest obstacles right now and I have no idea how that will go. With Vance, I’m sure al hates him for sending his little minions to shoplift and cause trouble hahah but seeing them interact should be tense and interesting……. After their little showdown in chapter 5 or so in the grab n go, I’m sure they’ll have a lot to say to each other

Ok with Terence, I don’t like him that much - I’m sorry but him being an absent drunk doesn’t sit well with me. I know he lost his wife but Finn and Gwen lost their mom and they deserve to have a dad that’s involved in their life. I know Terence wants finn to toughen up and his whole tough love act is a way of trying to protect Finn but still, there are other ways to be there for Finn. The beating he gave Finn still makes my heart ache ……..

I’m lowkey wanting Al to pummel Terence and proclaim his place as Finn’s new caretaker and father figure but that’s just me hahahha —- I do wonder how they’ll interact though ? Like Terence would be confronting and angry probably but Al might either be calm or he might be kind of manipulative and conniving because he does have a darker side ….

Gwen and Robin and max ? Oooh I can’t wait to see their reactions !

I think Gwen was already suspicious of al because she saw the way he kept looking at our precious finney in the first chapter. Hearing that al and finn are together will def make her upset and she’ll probably won’t cover for him if she finds out …… will she try to talk finn out of it ?

As for Robin, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH

Him protecting Finn in chap 10 made me scream and wanna give him the best present reward ever !!

How will the protective best friend react when he meets the possessive boyfriend ?

Robin will not be happy to hear that amber is actually Al Hahha but he might be accepting eventually given that he knows Finn is his best friend and that bisexual people do exist/Finn could be queer ? Imagine Robin swinging on Al once he catches him in the act ahhaha id pay to see that happen

Max is such a loveable goofball and I think he cares very much for his brother but I’m kind of thinking that he’d show a firm position against Al and Finn and kind of think his brother was taking advantage of an impressionable young boy with no father figure. He might butt heads with Al too and that’s gonna be so interesting!!!

Anyway, you’re the best author ever and you’ve made my life so much better and more fun with your writing ! I’ll never stop being a fan and if anyone ever insults you, tell me Their address so I can find and destroy them !!!

omg i’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the kiss scene!! i certainly felt the pressure writing it haha, i wanted everything to be perfect and the buildup to have been worth it!

a lot of other readers have been asking for a chapter/segment written from al’s p.o.v., too, and i think it’s an absolutely brilliant idea! i’ve already formulated quite a few segments from his p.o.v. and i think it’ll be really interesting to see the nature of his feelings toward finney; especially since he is such a morally ambiguous character. and that “clean towel” move he pulled lordddd... as nice as he is and as much as he loves his boy, he can be so creepy lmao. but we all love him for it.

i knowwww, but as tempted as i am to delve straight into the smutty goodness, i have to ensure i maintain proper characterisation and an element of realism. 😩 al is absolutely feral for finney, but he has to try his hardest to suppress it so as not to overwhelm the boy or accidentally scare him off. he’s finney’s first in all matters romantic, so he’ll really take the time to teach finney how to feel good and make him feel good at a pace the boy is comfortable with.

you’re absolutely right, vance and terrence are their biggest obstacles right now. they’re both so temperamental, too, so finney and al will have to be really careful about the way they go about navigating their way out of such a tricky situation. i’ll say this on the matter, though—we definitely haven’t seen the last of vance. i can say that with indisputable certainty. and he will interact with al in a chapter or two if everything goes to plan, so their strained relationship will be sorely emphasised. they hate each other’s guts, just like you said. but i have to agree with you, it just makes their interactions/scenes together so much more interesting and tense. who doesn’t love a bit of drama haha?

terrence is a very complex and layered character, much like the others. we know what he’s doing is wrong, he knows what he’s doing is wrong, and yet he can’t seem to escape this constant loop of trying to love and protect his children but ending up abusing them instead. it’s the cycle of abuse. he means well (most of the time), but i’m with you on this one. it’s absolutely no excuse to behave the way he does, or to treat his children the way he does. by trying to protect finney and forcing him to suppress certain elements of his sexuality, he’s inadvertently driven him straight into the arms of a man older than him.

oh, don’t you worry. al hasn’t forgotten about the beating his boy had to endure...

i think the way he’ll go about resolving the issue with terrence will be the biggest headfuck. i’ve seen a lot of people theorise and try to guess what he’ll do or how he’ll handle it (which i absolutely love; i will never shut up about how much i frickin’ love getting comments/asks theorising what’s gonna happen next or how al will deal with terrence) but the way he actually does deal with it is so much more... i don’t wanna necessarily say ‘twisted’, but i will say weird. then again, al’s a weird guy, so it’s to be expected. in regards to the darker elements of his character, once again, you’re right on the money. he will absolutely utilise manipulation as a tactic to combat vance and terrence...

yep! gwen has already clocked the weirdo magician who kept staring at her brother at susie’s party, so she won’t be so easily assuaged. being a very intense and combative character, she won’t be too happy and her reaction has the potential to be quite intense, which is absolutely fair. she loves her brother beyond reason, beyond words, and would do absolutely anything to protect him.

robinnnnn!!! 😩🙏🏻♥︎♥︎♥︎ that boy has my whole heart, he’s so sweet! he’s so protective of finney it makes me sob, i love them so much.

there’s really no way of telling how he’ll find out about finney and al, nor how he’ll react. much like gwen, though, he’s a very intense character, so his reaction is bound to be ruthless. yikes. there’s a 99.99% chance he’ll start swinging at al, no questions asked hahahaha. he isn’t aware of finney’s sexual orientation as of yet, no. he might have slight suspicions, but it’s not something they’ve discussed in terrible depth. finney is so deep in the closet he might as well have stumbled into narnia lmao.

yesssssss omg max is such a loveable goofball, i wanna put him in my pocket. he has a complicated relationship with al due to their childhood (which i’ll delve into a little more in future chapters) but ultimately, they love and care about each other very much. that’s why it’s so hard for him to come to terms with the fact that his brother might be engaging in inappropriate behaviour and an entirely illegal/immoral relationship with a 16/17-year-old boy. he’s very conflicted about it. it is, most understandably, a great source of discomfort for him.

Mayburi AU dumping time; I don’t really have time to write this (trying to work on something else at the moment), so I’m gonna just dump some bits on here for....

The Little Mermaid AU

May is one of the 12 daughters of King Triton (a.k.a. Johnny, King Triton is more of a title than an actual name). Out of all of her siblings she is the most adventurous and the most curious; ever since she was a young, she would sneak out of the castle to play with her friends Chipp the seagull (he knows a lot about humans, but all of his info is hilariously wrong), Chimaki the clownfish, and Mister the dolphin, before being dragged back by her father’s trusty advisor Janis the catfish. But no matter how many times she brought May back, the little mermaid would still hunger to see the outside world; and the world of the humans.

One day, after her 20th birthday, a ship passed overhead while she was out exploring; curious as always, she went up to investigate. There she saw humans, real humans not the broken statues she’s found scattered on the sea floor, for the very first time. She enjoyed watching them dance and sing, but she was especially interested in two humans: the twins, Prince Sinclair (shortened to Sin) and Princess Bridget. She found both attractive, but was especially smitten by the prince. Suddenly a storm rolls up and batters the ship, sending Bridget overboard! May carries the unconscious princess to the shore and disappears before the rest of the party arrives, not before leaving the girl with the memory of a beautiful maiden with eyes like the morning sun and a heavenly voice.

When Johnny learns of May’s obsession with humans, and her blossoming love for Sin, he forbids May from ever interacting with humans again and confines her to the castle. Too bad for him, she is very good at escaping and knows all the secret passageways. Fed up with her father’s overbearing attitude, she packs up her things (including a coral comb she got from her mother) and runs (well, swims) away from home, determined to live her life as she wants and to see the prince again!

Unfortunately for her, she isn’t sure how to get his affections. Maybe swim up to the castle and sing at his window?

(Can’t, she doesn’t know which is his)

Maybe she can catch him while he is underwater and talk to him then?

(Humans and talk underwater. Also he would probably drown)

Jump onto a bridge as he tries to cross it and feign the need for help?

(Now we’re just getting dramatic)

Utterly dejected at all of her ideas crumbling to simple logic, she suddenly remembers a story one of her sisters told her when she was very young; a story about a sea witch who lives in the darkest depths of the oceans. This sea witch can perform a myriad of miracles with their various potions and incantations: make people fall in love, heal all wounds, increase your strength tremendously. They even have a way to give the merfolk legs.

Against the protests of Janis (who followed her in an vain effort to bring her back), May goes to the cave of the sea witch Testament. And despite it looking horribly scary outside, the sea witch is rather pleasant; even offers May a cup of kelp tea (how it works underwater I don’t know, I ain’t a ocean scientist). May tells them her predicament and they have a potion that can help her. The potion will turn the mermaid’s fins into legs and give her the ability to walk on land; if she can receive a kiss from her true love before the next moon (so 1 month) she will become a human forever. However this potion is made from a rare coral that only grows once every hundred years, and if she doesn’t kiss her love by the 1 month mark (or heaven forbid, she breaks it) she will never have another chance to walk on land. Also it comes with a host of other side effects, but those are less important to May.

Undeterred May takes the potion and swims off toward the castle. She takes the potion on the night of the full moon, falling unconscious before waking up on the shore with human legs! Unfortunately she can’t express her excitement to her friends, as she cannot speak except for one word (totsugeki). As she is trying to learn how to walk, she is found by Sin and his retinue before being taken back to the castle. There she meets the king and queen of the country (Ky and Dizzy) and sees the princess again. The royal family takes pity on the girl and takes her in; this works out for May, as she now has unlimited opportunities to woo the prince and get her kiss.

Unfortunately for her this is Sin, so you can guess how frustrating it is to get the golden boy to notice her. At least she has Bridget by her side, silently encouraging her with eyes that make her heart skip a beat. After 3 weeks of trying (and failing) to get the ever-growing wild boy to see her as anything other than a friend, May’s hopes for love are shattered when she finds out that the prince is betrothed to a someone he loves deeply. Defeated, she resigns to go back to the sea but is stopped by the princess, who assures her that she will find her true love one day and not to give up hope (she got the wrong idea when she saw May just walk into the ocean).

It was at this moment May knew, she fucked up; she should have been trying to woo the pretty blonde girl the entire time! Especially since Bridget would go on and on about her beautiful savior and how she wishes meet her again. May and her friends now have a new goal; it is time to capture the heart of the super pretty girl in the next week!

Oh boy, do these kids have their work cut out for them.

Especially since Johnny now knows what May is up to, thanks to Testament and Janis’ inability to lie convincingly to the king. Now May has to try and get a kiss from the princess while her father sabotages her efforts from behind the scenes (how this man could be so cruel as the tip their boat while they were in that romantic ass lagoon is beyond me). And it succeeds.

On the final day before the enchantment wears off a gorgeous stranger with long black hair that has a beautiful coral hairpin in it, has utterly bewitched the princess. Nothing May does can tear Bridget away from the mysterious beauty. On the verge of tears May keeps trying to call out to Bridget, stammering out frustrated totsugekis to no avail, until she finally cries out her name, “Bridget!”. They look at each other shocked; Bridget because she recognizes the voice, and May because she knows the spell is wearing off. Before Bridget can even speak May runs off to the shore, her body crying in agony as her legs start to change back to their original form, the clothes and accessories she wore from her human life falling from her. As May reaches the water she looks back to see a stunned Bridget, verdant emerald eyes wide with shock, and swims back into the depths of the ocean.

Bridget knows what she is now, she knows that May has been deceiving her this entire time. They can never be together now. It’s over.

Nahhhhhhh. Did you really think it would end there? Bridget, determined more than ever to see her love, fills her parents in on the situation and says she is going to get back her girl! The king and queen, while a little concerned about their daughter’s taste in lovers (not because May is a girl but more because of the merfolk bit), agree to help their daughter and gather all the brilliant minds around the kingdom. They gather to build a machine that can take Bridget under the waves to the palace of the sea king and built her a suit so she can walk on the ocean floor.

Months pass, and May has not left her room the entire time; the shards of her broken heart wearing her down in place. Johnny begins to rethink the whole ‘keep your daughter from being with the one she loves’ bit and starts to think if he was the asshole all along. But those thoughts go right out the window as he gets a call from one of the scouts that his castle is under attack! He goes to the battlements, his trident crackling with mystical energy, and awaits the coming ‘giant beast’. From the canyon beyond he sees the beast come into view, its burning eyes shooting beams of light that cut through the ocean’s darkness. He readies his trident and his soldier’s to fire upon the beast when something catches his eye; something tiny on top of the beast shining a small light in a pattern. He holds his men and allows it to approach, everyone staring in awe as the ‘beast’ draws closer, realization hitting them as it floats next to the castle.

This is no creature, but a ship! Like one of those that litter the ocean floor, but with more metal and no open bit on the top.

King Johnny approaches the vessel, trident still at the ready, before stopping in front of the person standing between the giant lights on the front of the vessel. He looks through the glass face plate of the diving suit; it is difficult to make out the exact details of the face behind the glass, he does note how beautiful the person’s green eyes are. This human doesn’t quiver before him, instead they put away the mirror they had and hold up something that makes his eyes go wide; a comb made of brilliant orange coral that was once a gift he gave to his late wife, later finding its way to May.

He towers above the little human as he takes the comb into his hand, holding it reverently in his palm; he turns to the human and waves them to follow behind him. They go to the throne room and Johnny creates a bubble around the human, telling them they can breathe so long as they stay in the bubble. The human takes off their helmet, shaking out golden hair that floats in the water around her. King Johnny asks the human what she wants and Bridget tells him flat out she is there for May; he scoffs at her, incredulous to the very notion that a human could love one of his kind. But Bridget doesn’t falter, she boldly claims that her love for his daughter is true and asks him if she could have just one moment to speak to May.

Before Johnny can say anything May shoots out from the hallway and barrels into Bridget’s arms. May holds Bridget’s face in her hands, asking her if she is real or if she’s dreaming; Bridget pinches May’s arm and smiles, asking her if she woke up yet. May tears up and embraces Bridget again, the blonde wraps her arms around May and holds her tight to her chest.

Johnny’s voice booms in the throne room, commanding May to move away from the human, but she refuses! He asks her again, nicer this time, to swim away from the human but May refuses to budge, saying she loves Bridget and she will never leave her side. The water around Johnny’s trident boils as anger courses through him, but a gentle pale hand on his shoulder calms him immediately; he turns and is captured by Testament’s ruby red eyes as the sea witch swims to his side. He opens his mouth but Testament’s finger seals it, and they tell him to put aside his temper and talk with these youths, not bark orders at them as if they were one of his servants.

Johnny relents and composes himself. He apologizes to his daughter for how he has been acting and asks her how she could love this human. She tells him that it was easy, listing off everything good point about Bridget while gazing dreamily into her emerald eyes. Bridget does the same as she entwines their fingers, professing her undying love to May for the umpteenth time. Johnny is unsatisfied; how can May love Bridget if she has barely gotten to know her? They’ve only spent a month together, and in that time she only realized she loved her in the final week of it. He’s concerned that she is going to get into something she can’t back out of; he’s also scared of losing her forever, as he is terrified of his family drifting away from him.

May tells him that his fears are unfounded, as she will always be his daughter and nothing could ever change that. She also understands that her decision to become human would be permanent and that maybe he is right, maybe their love isn’t as unshakeable as they claim it to be; but she still wants to take that chance. She has felt love many times before but none as strong as the one she has for Bridget. Bridget tells her the same, and that she wants to learn more about her, not just the good. She even tells the king that, if there is a way to do it, she will become a mermaid forever and stay in his kingdom so he wouldn’t have to be separated from his daughter.

Testament, however, provides another solution. They take the comb from Johnny’s hand and swims over to May and begins to brush her hair with the comb. May begins to wince as magic swirls around her fin before it splits and transforms into a pair of human legs, they do it again and the legs become fins again. Bridget and May stare dumbfounded at Testament, asking the sea witch how this could be; Testament explains that the comb is made from the same coral as the potion, and she can use it as an instrument to change back and forth.

“How did you think I managed to become human all those months ago,” Testament says as they hold up a familiar coral hairpin. May points an accusatory finger at them as she realizes they were the bewitching stranger! Testament confirms this and says that it was not their idea, but a certain meddling king who will remain unnamed (the water practically boils around the bright blush that burns Johnny’s cheeks right now).

With this newfound discovery, the pair embrace again before turning to the king; Bridget asks him if he would give his blessing for them to continue seeing each other, and May asks the same. Johnny scoffs and tells them to do as they want, not like they would listen to him anyway; May is ecstatic and swims over to her father, peppering his face with a flurry of kisses. He can’t hide the giant smile that spreads across his face as he holds his daughter tight; he looks over her shoulder and tells Bridget that if she better take care of his precious daughter, or she will have to answer to him.

Bridget laughs and tells him that he has nothing to fear as May swims back into her arms. Their eyes lock before the two share their first kiss, that sends everyone in the throne room cheering for the lovers.

Johnny, Testament, Janis, and all of May’s sisters go to the ship to see her off, hugging her and telling her to come back to visit soon. She promises to do that and, before entering the submersible, combs her hair turning her fins back to legs. She boards the ship hand-in-hand with Bridget, the love her of life, and waves back at her family and friends through one of the portholes as they head back to the castle.

Many years later May sits next to a roaring fire with a five year old child in her lap as she tells them the story of how she met their mother. The child, Satsuki, excitedly exclaims they know how the story ends, with May and Bridget getting married then May gave birth to them. Before May can answer a voice cuts in saying Satsuki is half right. They both turn to see Bridget in the doorway, a giant smile on her face. Satsuki hops out of May’s lap and runs up to Bridget with open arms; Bridget catches the child and spins them high in the air, before holding them in her arms and padding up to May to give her a kiss.

Satsuki asks what Bridget meant by them being half right. Bridget explains that even though they fell in love and had a child their story isn’t over yet; they still have many years of adventures and love to share before their story truly ends. Satsuki requests another story with a tired yawn, but Bridget questions whether they can stay awake for another. The child pouts and claims they aren’t tired, despite another yawn escaping their little body. May chuckles and agrees to one final story. Satsuki cheers and hops back down into May’s lap, snuggling up against their mother as she picks up the book sitting on the table next to her. She opens to the first page as Bridget sits down on the chair’s armrest, wrapping her arm around her wife and child as May begins another story.
