Today in, "Conservatives keep making me side with Disney"...
So, Gina Carano is suing Disney. And Elon Musk is paying for her lawyers. And they released the complaint document.
It's... a doozy.
I can't decide if her lawyers are not taking this seriously at all or if they are taking it super duper extra seriously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, that's a real thing that a lawyer wrote.
As you know, judges are famous for enjoying levity in official court documents. I think in law school you are encouraged to add comedy bits. True facts.
Gina wants money for emotional damages. But she also wants to be rehired, which sounds like another funny comedy bit. They scrapped an entire show because of her nonsense.
Most are saying this will get thrown out with haste due to the fact that Gina wasn't actually fired. She had already done her contracted work. Disney decided not to hire her for any *new* work. So I guess she wants them to honor an imaginary contract that was in her head.
The entire document is just as ridiculous as the opening crawl. It starts out by listing Gina's show biz bona fides. Her myriad accomplishments in Hollywood were listed one by one in a section titled...
Tumblr media
Well, I'm intrigued.
Let's take a look at this illustrious career, according to this document.
"Carano is the first-ever female star in mixed martial arts cage fighting to successfully transition to a career in movies, breaking down substantial barriers for women in the sport."
Off to an interesting start.
All the cage fighting gals can act in movies now and they all have Gina to thank for barrier busting.
"Carano received roles in Hollywood and independent film productions such as Haywire, Fast & Furious 6, Heist, Deadpool, Almost Human, Extraction, Daughter of the Wolf, and Madness in the Method."
I've heard of several of those things! And I think I almost remember her in Deadpool! Very impressive.
Oh wait, they're not done...
"On May 13, 2008, “Gina Carano” was the fastest rising search on Google and third most searched person on Yahoo! while being ranked no. 5 on Yahoo!’s “Top Ten Influential Women of 2008” list."
In 2008 she was popular on Yahoo for a bit. Got it.
Has she won any awards?
"In 2012, Carano was the first recipient of the ActionFest Film Festival’s Chuck Norris Award for Best Female Action Star.
In 2017, Carano received the Artemis Action Warrior Award.
In 2019, Carano received The Rising Star award at Ischia Film Festival."
Very prestigious. I'm sure Chuck Norris has a lovely basement where that ceremony was almost certainly held.
You know what, why don't we just skip to The Mandalorian?
"Although her character instantly became one of the most recognized and popular characters in the series..."
Gina, no... that was the little green puppet.
You were the one who couldn't act very well but you made up for it by punching things good.
"Carano was again instrumental in the success of Season 2 of The Mandalorian."
Nope, still the puppet.
End of "accomplishments."
The next section is titled
Tumblr media
For some reason they left out "bigoted" before speech. Weird.
In most of it, it legit sounds like they are making a case *against* her. They show that everyone at Disney and Lucasfilm tried very hard to give her chance after chance. They did everything but point blank tell her, "Either learn and relieve yourself of this ignorance or stop posting shit online."
She totally had the option to keep her shitty views to herself and shut the heck up for the duration and enjoy the money and success a Star Wars show can bring. It's like swatting away a lottery ticket.
I'm all for free speech. And if the government tried to arrest her for saying dumb shit, I'd be against that. But that freedom to speak does not mean there are never consequences. People are also free to not like what you have to say.
The entire last section of the document is just tweets that Gina screencapped. Like, her lawyers didn't even redo them so they had consistent formatting or pixel dimensions. They were literally just off Gina's phone.
She thought she was collecting receipts but it was mostly just her co-stars standing up for marginalized groups.
Based Pedro Pascal posted this...
Tumblr media
And the document commented...
"Pascal was not disciplined, required to review documentaries on any of these topics or speak to individuals with contrary points of view, or pressured to apologize for any of his posts. His employment was not terminated, and Defendants made no public statements about his social media posts, much less refer to them as “abhorrent.”"
Yes, why wasn't Pedro forced to listen to MAGA dipshits tell him why they hate his sister? Why wasn't he told to watch a Dinesh D'Souza documentary? Why wasn't he told to apologize for posting cool ass muppet memes?
The most telling part of the document for me... the part that really showed her ignorance... was when she compared one of her tweets to one of Carl Weathers'.
First, her infamous tweet comparing the holocaust to conservatives being moderated on social media for spreading misinformation...
Tumblr media
And then Carl posted this in response to conservatives banning books...
Tumblr media
And the document says...
"Even Carano’s male co-star, the late Carl Weathers posted the exact same message, but no action was taken against him. Nor was Weathers accused by Defendants of denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identity."
THE EXACT SAME MESSAGE
THE. EXACT. SAME. MESSAGE.

Hey, sorry to bother you but I’d like to request if you could write a list of all the things Mammon’s canonically good at- like his talents, his good traits, and things his done that caught your eye or things that just makes you love him. I just want to have a list to remind me of the things that make me love him. Again sorry for bothering you, take care and have a nice day!
It's not a bother at all! I've actually been coming up with this list for about a year now and I've actually spoken about it on this blog a few times too! I keep on postponing posting it cos I figure I should post it when it's finished but new things keep on getting added to it, so this is as good a sign as any to post it!
Like you said everything is based off canon (main story, devilgram, chats, events, manga & anime). I've probably gone into more detail on some of them in my other posts but if anyone wants me to clarify a point lemme know.
I will probably be adding to this with each new detail
Canon* Things Mammon is Good At
*(main story, devilgram, chats, events, manga & anime)
• Analytical
• Supportive
• Hand to hand combat to an extent
• Trapeze
• Balloon art
• Customer service - both as a waiter & as a host/entertaining customers
• Singing
• Dancing
• Chess
• Surfing
• Swimming
• Card games
• Cheating at card games
• Modelling
• Good with kids
• Emotionally intelligent
• Technology to a certain extent
• Cooking to a certain extent
• Maths - his mental maths is faster than a computer's and his answers are all correct
• Debating/winning arguments ?
• Teaching/being a mentor
• Leading the others
• Salesman
• Anything he tries if he puts effort into it/is serious about it
• Rope climbing/rescue
• Thinking on the spot/spontaneous decisions/actions during stressful situations/under pressure
• Inventing things using mechanics, engineering & magic (physics??)
• Multitasking
• Office work/ Sales
• Paper work? Organisation? Anything regarding being a Throne which is basically a Personal Assistant
• Can walk in heels very well
• Flying - either by his own means or with the help of magic objects
• Understanding others' emotions and manipulating them to get what he wants
• Calming down Satan when he's pissed
• Coming up with new extremely successful business ideas

• Steering/Sailing a pirate ship
• Fastest of the brothers
• Quick draw standoffs/shootouts
• Juggling
• Script Writing
• Film Directing
• Editing Videos/Films
• Facing Interviews
• Agile
• Can waltz
• Really good at whistling - it sounds musical
Bonus;
• I vaguely remember "skating" but I can't remember where it's from so I'm not 100% sure if it's canon
• I don't have the band devilgram with Luke & Beel so dunno if he actually plays an instrument
• this is never stated explicitly in canon but considering he's the best at dancing and he's a really good trapeze artist = he's probably very flexible
*despite being good at all of this his skill level varies a lot depending on how motivated he is, how easily he'll get distracted, how much effort he puts into it, how much he's paying attention etc.
• He's good at sewing & and embroidery, though he can get bored and lose his concentration after a while which makes him pissed off/start spiralling
• Basketball
For example:
- he's still failing maths at RAD despite being very good at it & the best at math from all his brothers
- he made a plan (that included tricking Lucifer, Solomon and Satan) on the spot to steal a book from solomon that worked very well. He lost the whole game because he couldn't be bothered to read the cover of the book to make sure he got the right one - he immediately gave up after finding this out

I LOVE your transfem Amy art! Would you mind sharing some of those transfem ideas you were rotating in your mind?
AUGHHHHH I'D LOVE TOOO!!
ummm lets go down the line haha. Only gonna talk abt ames rouge and metal because they're the only ones I've got in my brain atm. But rest assured if I had more brain cells I'd ramble abt Blaze too bc I also hc her as trans
Ames (She/Her, trans lesbian) - I think Amy presents p stealth! I think she knew she was trans from a young age and she's been presenting femininely since she was very very little. I made a post joking abt silly gender differences in sth (no back quills, small nose, etc) and I headcanon that those traits come from Amy being half-echidna so its like. ajdjsndnd gender win. The traits you were born with also coincide with hedgehog mobian gender binary??JFJSNFNN
I don't think Amy keeps her trans identity a complete secret, she loves being trans and she's proud of how she's tested fate and made her life her own, but I also think it does play a role in how she navigates her personal/romantic relationships (comphet to trans lesbian is what I was thinking of?)
Rouge: (She/Her, transfem lesbian also) - I talked abt Rouge and gave her a silly little backstory in that one post but I'll go over it again a little here: I think Rouge grew up pretty isolated in a small village with her family. She felt very trapped in the ideas that she felt like she had to follow the footsteps in. She felt like she was a side character in her own life because she's always had to ask for permission and think of the family's sleezy gem store/pawn shop before her own wants and needs. Landing that government job somehow was her ticket to finally spreading her wings and flying freeeee baby. She knew there was somth about herself and the way she dressed, talked and looked that didn't quite fit her, and although she didn't have a word for it, she assumed a new identity while working for G.U.N. and went like. full throttle on her transition. She didn't want anybody from her old village to recognize her. She's not listening to their complaints and desires anymore. She lives for herself, now. I think she has some trust issues relating to her past experiences which makes her hold onto Shadow and Omega so closely, and something about them also being queer brings them even closer to her. Can you tell Rouge has been rotating the fastest in my head
Metal - (It/She/They, sapphic demi-girl) -Metal is a fucking egg please saVE HERRRR. LISTEN OK. I don't have any evidence I don't got shit I just know we gotta get Metal outta there because she is an uncracked egg. Is eggman actively against the prospect of Metal having a differing gender identity? No. But Eggman is opposed to Metal having Opinions so. Metal has spent so long under the control of Eggman who they DO!! love, I believe. I think Metal Sonic and Sage are the only people that love Eggman and Eggman does nottt see Metal as his child as much as Metal does. And it makes me fucking bonks, dog. She thinks she's comfortable and fine where she is because that's all she knows. But she sees Amy and she yearns for something that she doesn't have the ability to describe...An emptiness that Metal doesn't know how to fill. Someone show this robot the joys of spinning for the first time in a flowy skirt PLEASEEE I think it'd do wonders for her. Go listen to bridget from guilty gear strives theme rn

Here are some things to say about my time in Santa Fe:
Highs:
Taking a vacation in adulthood with your friends! This was a weird group for me and I was a little anxious about it heading in, but it ended up being a blast. The other 6 women were all friends in college, and while I went to the same school as them, I knew them vaguely but wasn't friends with any of them. Then one of them became my closest friend after school, and I got to know most of the other women over the years thanks to her. But I wouldn't say I was close to the group as a whole so I was a little pleasantly surprised to be included. It ended up being great, obviously-- everyone is so cool and smart and I am so so happy we made it happen. It's hard to coordinate 7 grown women!
Meow Wolf! This is super fun and trippy and we spent like 2 hours wandering around and banging on things and going through portals in dryers and refrigerators and generally having a blast.
Hiking Sun Mountain! We did a real hike! I now want to take a hiking-forward vacation! I found it harder to come down than to go up bc I have kinda bad knees but good cardiovascular, but I think most of the group found it easier to go down. We almost all slipped and fell on the gravelly path coming down.
Going for a run! I always like to run on vacation but I was nervous bc of the altitude. It wasn't my FASTEST run but it was fine and beautiful!
The Indian Art Fair! OMG the art was so so so gorgeous. And art in Santa Fe in general!
Green chili sauce not christmas. I didn't like the red as much!
The Georgia O'Keeffe museum! I was really moved by her life and this was a small but mighty and very well-done collection.
Getting free hotel breakfast! There was supposed to be a pool but it wasn't finished in time so one of the women negotiated free daily breakfast at the hotel restaurant and omg it was it delicious. It was so luxurious to have a huge leisurely breakfast every day. With green chili sauce!
The sangre de christo, the blood of christ mountains of New Mexico (if you can read that without singing it, you have a different life than I do)
Shopping in general! I saw a cute store that had little print dresses in it and I went it and half of us ended up buying matching dresses. Shopping with friends is so fun and the people in the shops there are so so so nice.
Again, the indian art fair. It was just the most beautiful art and jewelry and all of the artists were so happy to talk about their process and let you try things on and tell you their family history. It just felt really beautiful and generous.
Visiting a friend's ranch! Two of the women went to hs together and their friend owns a giant ranch outside of santa fe where we went for drinks and omg the views were just so incredible. Also his partner is from Santa Fe and he was telling us that his family has been there for hundreds of years (the us-mexico border crossed them, as it were) and they speak spanish from Spain, not from Mexico, and he gave us so much context for what the city and environment is like as a native. Also they had goats and chickens, which is alway fun. Their house looked like a spread from architectural digest.
the weed store! buying weed there is so different! almost no taxes (lol illinois 30% tax on weed), there are windows and you can just walk in and out (no windows in IL and you have to show ID to get in) and they take debit cards! IL is all cash. I bought Adam some red chili toffees and YES i transported them across state lines!
Lows:
the miraculous staircase. This was such a gimmick, you can't even walk on it. It was in the Loretto chapel attached to our hotel so we went (and were genuinely excited about it!) but I do not recommend it.
The dry desert air. I am shriveled like a corn husk. I thought the altitude would get me but it was actually the complete lack of humidity.
That's all I've got for a low. Truly! no real lows! I loved every minute and my outfits were all great. I bought a tiny turquoise necklace as you do when you visit Santa Fe.

I read ur url and it was prolly the fastest follow ive made to a blog in a while! finding sources for art and meme is so fucking cool, one just to have a cool fact abt a sillay meme. and secondly, crediting artists means so much as someone who also makes art. i have a personal discord and I've made it a thing to always link back to art I'll save and use later. also sheska sweep
Hi, thank you very much!
The reception this blog has gotten is frankly astonishing. I guess we all care a bit about sourcing—be it for the fun of seeing an anime girl extricated from the deep-fried depths of a highly compressed jpeg, or out of a connection with the idea of authorship.
At any rate, I'm having a lot of fun, so I hope we can continue this for a while. and sheska yay

October 2023 Books
Tales from the Oakenwyld by R. J. Anderson
A collection that makes me want to revisit these series! I'd read two of the stories before in other forms, but it was nice to have them all in one volume, and the additional material involving earlier versions of the novels was a fascinating look at how the world and characters evolved during the writing process.
The Ages of the Flash: Essays on the Fastest Man Alive edited by Joseph J. Darowski
Some of the articles were more interesting than others, and the book could have been more carefully proofread, but I really enjoyed getting to read a scholarly take on these characters, especially the discussions of them in context with the eras in which they were written. (The concept of the YJ kids and their contemporaries as innately Gen X--with Bart as an anticipation of a Millennial--is a concept I'd like to explore more, especially in light of why the current fanon versions of these characters seem almost nothing like the originals.)
Not All Supermen: Sexism, Toxic Masculinity, and the Complex History of Superheroes by Tim Hanley
An interesting overview of the history of some very relevant and persistent issues in comics. I don't see eye-to-eye with Hanley on everything, but it was refreshing to get an acknowledgement of how poorly both writing and art has depicted female characters, for instance.
The Invisible Boy by Alyssa Hollingsworth
Maybe the most Rebekah Bait book I've read in quite a while. It's told from the POV of a twelve-year-old military child with a very active imagination, a passion for journalism, and a love of comics (specifically for Lois Lane, who is her hero). She initially supposes that a mysterious boy in her neighborhood must be some kind of superhero, but as she gets to know him and pieces together more about his situation, the truth turns out to be quite dark, and she must take some difficult steps to do the right thing. The book addresses a real-world issue that is quite dark for a middle-grade novel, but Hollingsworth handles it in a way that is both informative for young readers while remaining age-appropriate.
There are well-drawn characters, and themes of misjudging others on first acquaintance, and themes of child exploitation (not only of the mysterious boy, but the protagonist herself, whose mother runs a popular blog and sometimes uses her daughter for content in ways that are invasive or embarrassing), and it sounds dark but it really is a hopeful book, and I enjoyed it a lot.
(Also the combination of the Superman motifs with the themes of child exploitation really made me want to reach into the book and ask the protagonist if she was familiar with Superboy, unintentional poster child for exploitation--the themes would interact with each other so well, and that got me wondering if what Cadmus is doing with their cloning is basically human trafficking, and...well, I have questions. And thoughts. I'll stop now, thanks for humoring me.)
The Refuge by Monica Hughes
I heard about this one from an article that discussed it alongside The Secret Garden. It's a middle-grade Canadian novel from the late 1980s that has its own take on the young-person-in-difficult-circumstances-experiences-growth-through-interaction-with-a-secret-place (in this case also a garden), and goodness knows I fall for that plotline every time. This one took a turn that was a bit unusual for this sort of story, but on the whole I enjoyed it.
The Ogre Downstairs by Diana Wynne Jones
I don't think this one is quite as well executed as some of Jones' other works, but it was enjoyable overall, and I appreciated the angle of the initially dreadful-seeming stepfamily turning out to be not so villainous after all.
The Monsters of Rookhaven by Pádraig Kenny
Creepiness warning if that's a concern, but what a delightful monster book. The world and people are dark and scary and full of hostility, but the answer is compassion and understanding, and that's beautifully portrayed.
(I don't know how you'd like the book, @brown-little-robin, but there was one character in particular--the most monstrous and yet the most human and sensitive of them all--who really struck me as the one you would like.)
Quicksand Pond by Janet Taylor Lisle
I have liked other books I've read by this author, but this one didn't do much for me. It felt incomplete, not fully developed, like reading an early draft.
The League of Regrettable Sidekicks: Heroic Helpers from Comic Book History! by Jon Morris
Exactly what it says on the tin. A light-hearted overview of the bizarre choices in sidekick-creation that comics have made over the years. A lot of what on earth.
(Apparently 1950s!Superman had a plotline in which he adopted a child who became his sidekick but for...reasons? the adoption wasn't feasible longterm, so the poor kid got left on a street corner, fate uncertain, tearfully parting ways with Superman, who tells him, "I'll never *choke* forget you, Jimmy!" ...which would have been a lot more effective if the boy's name weren't Johnny. The Silver Age was wild, guys.)
Robin and the Making of American Adolescence by Lauren R. O'Connor
You've probably already heard me rant about this one, but the short version is that O'Connor chose to examine the character/role of Robin primarily through the lenses of sexuality, gender, and race--mostly ignoring three of the Robins altogether (even if some of them would have relevant to her points), and glossing over Damian's ethnic background because it would have complicated a point she was trying to make about race with someone else. I didn't personally find this approach interesting or incapsulating of what makes these characters so effective, and I would love to see further scholarly discussion from others that would explore the Robins as characters, not just symbols of social concerns.
The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
I was satisfied with the ending but have nothing intelligent to say about this series and no particular interest in venturing into the spin-offs.
The House in the Square by Joan G. Robinson
A weird story, I guess, but atmospheric and compelling. I need to track down my own copy someday.
Secret of the Missing Footprint by Phyllis A. Whitney
Unlike the others I've read of Whitney's middle-grade mysteries, this one is told in first-person by the teenage protagonist, who has a bad case of I-can-fix-him with a troubled neighbor boy, and I love that Whitney absolutely demolishes that mindset, while still allowing both characters to be nuanced.
[Two books that I am omitting from naming in this list because they weren't really my taste but I know the author and don't want to give her any negative publicity]
Comics
Wayne Family Adventures Vol. 2
I read these online quite a while ago, but it's nice to have them in volume form. Don't go into this expecting characterization and relationships that accurately reflect those in the source material (these versions of the characters tend to talk more like they want to get a good grade in therapy than their comics counterparts), but it's good fluffy fun.
Stop drawing Bart as looking exactly like a young Wally, though. They are not interchangeable.
The Ray (1992 miniseries, not to be confused with the longer-running 1994 series, which I haven't read much of)
I plan to read all of DC's 90s teenage hero solos eventually, so after finishing Damage, I started this one. I'm acquainted with Ray from Young Justice and appearances in other things, and he kind of rubs me the wrong way (slapping and yelling at Bart for something trivial, repeatedly asking what's in it for him and acting put-upon when Grant turns to him for help, that sort of thing), but I was prepared to get perspective from his solo.
...and I was left with more questions than perspective. Ray has an utterly bizarre backstory--raised to believe that he had a condition that made him deathly allergic to sunlight and growing up hidden away indoors and only active at night, only to learn at age eighteen after his father's death that he has light-activated powers and his real father was a superhero. There's a lot to unpack there. But the narrative was more interested in the action and Ray's adjusting to his powers than his adjusting to life in the real, sunlit world and how his upbringing would have lingering effects to live with/work through. Maybe this gets explored more in the other solo, which I'll get to eventually. But for now I'm still in the dark on this guy.
Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.
I know Courtney Whitmore from appearances in other things I've read. Loved her in Stargirl: The Lost Children. But in this series, which introduces the character, she is...a lot less likeable. In fact, she's rather a jerk, going beyond ordinary teenage angsty orneriness to being just plain malicious and spiteful (everything from trying to deliberately sabotage her mother and stepfather's marriage to generally being rude to everyone, even people who are on her side). Clearly character development does happen eventually, but it doesn't unfold very believably in this series, which made it a difficult read for me.
The Flash 1987 #62-118
I'm in the process of reading Mark Waid's take on Wally, and it's overall very good! Waid has an almost literary style that's atypical for similar comics and which is delightful to read. His Wally is a flawed but human and likeable character, and the stories feel grounded despite bizarre premises (for instance, Wally's backstory, as established in the Silver Age, is that he acquired his powers the same way as Barry in a massive coincidence--but Waid finds a clever way to justify even that) because characterization and emotion are handled realistically. So far, some plots have been better than others, of course, but I've been enjoying this and will keep up with it as far as it goes whenever I find time.

Hi, need to scream. Tumblr seems to listen best. can and please feel free to ignore.
okay so essentially my job has removed all of the things I use and need in order to be able to do my job with my mental disorder. my mental DISABILTY. that i was honest with them and told them about at my freaking trial shift. that i told them i needed certain things in order to do well. nothing drastic. but things that helped me significantly with my performace.
SOOOOOOOOO i am now severely struggling at my job because they've taken those away cuz they were 'annoying' or 'in the way' or 'clutter'. like. im not even leaving shit every where. It's like, maybe at most 3 sticky notes? (for example) and they're written just for me, like just so i can have a list of things i can do and know to go back and look on when i need a task because ive finished the one i was doing. but then my boss reads them and critiques them as if they're for everyone. or says 'okay yeah but we do that every day so i dont see why you have to write it down. you should know to do it by now' LIKE BRO. I forget to put deodorant on some days because of said mental disability. it's something i do and have done every day since i was 12 or 13. thats 12 years. and i still forget some days just cuz my brain wasn't working properly.
AND now due to this they have put me, one of the staff currently with more seniority than 3 other staff, down to one shift a week, while every one else is full time or heavily part time.
In march i was full time and kicking ass, I was the fastest employee on my tasks, i was doing great, the customers loved me and now that all of my things that i need in order to function have been removed for everyone else's aesthetic preferences, I'm suffering, and most likely being silently fired.
like... what do i do with that. I can do my job, with my accomadations - that arent that many btw - i dont expect them to move mountains for me. But dude. I hate this feeling so much because i'm capable, theyve seen me be capable. i was for 1.5 years. like i want to be good at my job. I like and enjoy being good at my job. i've told them that. I want to do good but my ability to be good is being derailed, and i just get told to try harder, just work harder, impress your boss with how hard you work -> for minimum wage, i might add.
and everyone is like "just get a new job, just apply for more jobs you're not applying for enough, literally just apply for everything, even if youre not qualified" and i cant just do that, due to said disability. there are jobs i am unable to do. so i have to be a lil picky otherwise i'll be right back where i am now. and ive been looking for months and applying for months with no luck - no one ever responds. why list jobs if you dont respond?????
it's getting to the point where im debating opening up drawing commissions or writing commissions, or something that i can make to earn a little extra cash here and there while i get over this transition period. And that's a big deal for me because i don't do commissions. I do my art for myself or for when i want to share something i've made already, like the UTWT books. Hell, I did a tattoo design for a friend on here that i put easily 40 hours into, and i felt guilty that they wanted to pay me for it because i'd asked them for the idea. Like, i don't do commissions. so for me to be considering it is really telling for me.
anyways. this is a bajillion words long now, but i already feel better. and I'm posting it in the middle of the night in hopes that the void just consumes it and never lets it see the light of day.
If you read this, thanks and sorry for the bummer of a post. This isnt a pity party or a poor yoon thing. I'm not looking for comfort or any of that. this is a 'i don't have a therapist and my friends and partner and family are sick of hearing me bitch, when i havent been able to fix it in months despite trying my best too' thing. so yeah..
i hope the new year brings me something good.

Commissions Open!!
Hi everyone its Mod Vash!
I've said in a previous post, but I'm trying to earn money to fly out to visit my boyfriend for his birthday. Due to circumstances outside of my control, I have to leave my job, so I'm relying on work from family and neighbors to scrape by, so I'm opening up some commissions for both art made by me and character edits! More information under the cut so this doesn't get too long. (cw some of my art might be mildly eye straining to some people)
Please keep in mind that I am disabled and will work as best as I can to get your commission to you, but I might not be as quick as some others. All the commission money will go to saving up to visit my partner for a milestone birthday and helping pay down some debts!
GOAL: $600 (flights + budget for out there)
Slots open: 5
I have synesthesia, so if you commission me to do art of your name or a song you really enjoy, I will draw what I see with it.
For a simple kaleidoscope (or similar) commission, it would be $5, here are some examples of what I've made for simple names with simple backgrounds. These are probably the fastest and easiest for me to make, as I can get a good amount of colors and shapes from names and sounds down quickly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next tier up is still a synesthesia based drawing but it is more complex- a background/more detailed drawing. These will range from $8-15 depending on how complex you want the background and how complex the name/song is- ex, lacrimosa with a cathedral background would be $15 because that would take me a while, but the name Sasha and water would most likely be $8 or so since it would be easier and quicker. I only have one example of this, shown below. (Example would have been $10 due to shading and lighting)
Tumblr media
Moving on from synesthesia is character bust shots, probably my weakest skill- but I can guarantee I will try my best. They will start at $15 and go up depending on how complex the character, how long I think it will take me, and how much detail you want included. and I will only do bust shots since I'm not good at bodies yet. Complex backgrounds are an extra $2. Below are some examples of recent bust shots of characters I've made. The first image would be $15 since the background is simple and the colors are flat, but the 2nd would be closer to $20/22 due to the background being multiple layers and having skin and hair texture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last thing I offer (for now) is character edits, where you can send me a picture of a character and I'll edit them however you like. These will start at $5 and go up, $1 for each character in the picture and an $1 per picture in a set. Super complex edits (like adding a lot of new hair and texturing it, or changing clothes) would cost extra, but small edits like changing the hair style or adding/removing makeup or piercings or anything would not be an extra charge. (i.e, you want me to edit one picture with one character in it and that would be $5, one picture with 2 characters would be $6, a set with the same single character with 2 pictures would $6, a set with 2 characters and 2 pictures would be $8, so on.) I dont have a ton of examples of this since I haven't done it in a while but I have a few from a while back. Super complex edits (like adding a lot of new hair and texturing it, or changing clothes) would cost extra, but small edits like changing the hair style or adding/removing makeup or piercings or anything would not be an extra charge. These catra edits would have only been $5 since they were simple edits, just changing her hair color and adding some makeup and piercings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a paypal, venmo, and a chime account, if your interested in commissions please dm me through here and we can work something out!

Armaggedon's toll dump post nr 1
So I've decided to to finally gather myself and share the things I came up with for the AT au (at least the ones ill be able to spill out of my brain). Though, it means that I have to explain the game mechanics since,
a) there's a lot of small details I used,
b) Transformice is not a very well known game = lots of confusion
So this post is going to be some kind of like.. worldbuilding & game explaining one?? Bear with me pls I have 1k+ hours in tfm its rooted too deeply into my brain, forgive me for the absoltue monster that is this au.
This post's main purpose it to lay down the foundation for all my tinkering I did with existing material. If you're familiar with tfm, skip to the point nr. 5 or 6 since I know that even if you have more hours than me, you didn't realise there was lore in this french rat game.
Basics of the basics.
Game loop
Nescessary abilities (wall jump & shaman magic)
Monetary system
Other game modes (summaries without much detail)
Transformice Adventures
Established lore
important note: read image descriptions!
-----
Game loop
Main purpose of the player (a mouse) in classic modes is to get cheese and go to the mouse hole to complete the map.
In most of the maps the player with the highest amount of points (the faster you get to the hole with cheese the higher is the amount of points you get from that round) is selected as the shaman- a mouse blessed by goddess Élisah to help others complete maps (building/spawning abilities) Each time player succesfully brings the cheese back to the mouse hole, they get 1 Cheese.
Tumblr media
2. Nescessary abilities (wall jump & shaman magic)
Shamans can spawn objects and connect them to the map or connect to eachother using anchors. Base items accessed by all shamans are; ball, long plank, short plank, big box, small box, anvil, arrow, spirit, rune, cannonball, balloon and trampoline.
There are 3 types of anchors:
Red- can be used only on planks, binding them by their center to the map itself, making it immovable. Red nailed planks can only spin akin to a fan.
Yellow- nails an object down to an already spawned item. Such objects cannot move in different angles than in the position it was nailed down in. Can be moved by pushing the whole construction- it's not connected to the map.
Blue- nails an object down to an already spawned item. Such objects move by using the blue anchor as a 'joint'. Can be moved by pushing the whole construction- it's not connected to the map.
There is an exception with balloons and red nails- balloons can be tied to a mouse using those anchors.
Tumblr media
Shamans also posses the ability to go up their skill trees to access more magic- I won't cover it entirely here, mostly because it's a big part of the AU with a massive amount of detail added.
Tumblr media
Wall jump. Even if you can play the game with a small understanding of shaman magic, not having the ability to wall jump will definitely make the game unplayable.
It was originally a bug, but was left unpatched due to how game changing and useful it is. Now it is at the core of the whole game.
Tumblr media
3. Monetary system
There are 2 main currencies in the world of Transformice- Cheese and Fraises. Cheese is your typical normal money while the strawberries are the expensive, and mostly acquired by mini transactions, rich people money. This will be explored more in other posts.
Cheese and Fraises are used to buy cosmetics such as furs, hats and shaman item reskins.
4. Other game modes
Games modes are different spins on the basic formula.
Transformice- classic experience with maps made by the community, ranging from difficult puzzles to beautiful art maps.
Vanilla- classic experience but only with easy maps confirmed and made by admins.
Defilante- race with time, gather points and power ups to rise your score.
Survivor- dodge shaman's cannonballs and be the last mouse standing.
Racing- be the fastest mouse to complete maps specifically tailored to your racing needs.
Modules- custom modules made by the community (yes, there is both amogus and minecraft)
Village- rest at the local village, chat with friends and trade with NPCs for special trophies.
Bootcamp- hard maps only for the most experienced.
Tumblr media
5. Transformice Adventures
TFMA is a multiplayer action RPG placed in the world of the original Transformice game. Currently it is sitting on the back burner as Atelier 801 focuses more on the older game, though the demo is still functional and enjoyable when not lagging. (Steam demo is harder to get since it's not downloadable on the TFMA page anymore)
What is great about this game is how it intertwines with whatever story we already had and expands on how the world functions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what's even more important is the addition of combat and Élisah's gifts.
Mice have the ability to wield and master weapons such as: daggers, swords, long swords, great swords, claymores, bows and shields. Along with proffesions (classes which you can select to play as) and previously shown Village, it solidifies mice as a functioning society with a clear level of technological advancement and set borders of what it has and doesn't have the ability to do.
Tumblr media
Élisah's gifts are bonuses received after winning a section of a dungeon. The blessings themselves develop the magic system of shamans, implying the existence of a fourth class in the society; common mice blessed by their goddess- protectors with similiar attributes to shamans, but whose magic can only affects their own body and personal items.
I've dubbed them the Guardians, which makes the mouse society consist of: priestesses, shamans, guardians and common mice.
Classes and hierarchy will be further discussed in the next posts as in dips deeply into 'running a functional country' topics.
6. Established lore
As many times mentioned by this point, Elisah is the main deity of mice and is considered the most powerful in the world of Transformice. She is characterised as a caring and loving omnipresent being.
Shamans are gifted feathers from her wings and locks of her golden hair to acces her power and use magic (the feathers seen behind their heads and the hair at the end of shaman tail charm). The mouse standing highest before their goddess is the High Priestess, named Berta Gooda with another priestess, Mirolle Gooda, standing in second as Berta's sister.
Presumably born indirectly from Elisah's power, considering how he is created out of shaman objects, is the evil Anvil God- main source of malice in the known world.
There are other deity like beings, though they don't play as big roles as Elisah and Anvil God- who are polar forces. (It should be mentioned that creatures classified as deities only need to be able to use magic outside of their shaman turn (actively possessing a feather and a lock of hair), so not all of them are god like)
The others include:
The Dragon- a snake turned dragon by the blessing of Elisah who was touched by his story of protecting his beloved- a mouse.
Lananah- shapeshifter mouse (i'm decanonising her humanoid form please why deos it exist crying sobbing) guardian angel of mice, presumably sent by Elisah judging by the shaman tail charm she wears. Was the one to show mice how to wall jump.
The Three Shaman Queens- traveled with gifts to Elisah while being guided by Cheese Moon. Upon receiving the three gifts, Elisah gave them shaman powers, resulting in the creation of the first skill trees (Spiritual Guide, Wind Master and Mechanician).
Cheese Moon- ever-present in the sky, she is worshipped by all. Every mice at birth is assigned their own atrological cheese by her. Instead of sacrifice, she asks for friendship and peace among rodents, as well as requesting the reunion of all 12 astrological cheeses. Along with The Cruel God, there is no edvidence of her being created by Elisah.
The Cruel God- The only confirmed evil that has not originated from Elisah's magic. According to ancient folklore, mice used to be beings with 4 legs, 4 arms and 2 heads who were split into 2 legged, 2 armed with a single head beings by The Cruel God. Because of his actions, mice now feel uncomplete, looking for their lost halves in daily life, resulting in soulmates, both platonic and romantic. Thanks to lore revealed along with The Cruel God's appearance, it is a fact that mice have been carrying their stories for a long time, proving that the rodents hold universally constant beliefs.
There is a storyline that directly ties TFM and TFMA together, forming a timeline that I later on forged into AT's story.
During the 2018 Fishing event, Berta Gooda calls for mice to help her rebuild the Ancient Capital to it's former glory after the events of Armageddon 2016/2018 events (Anvil God launched an attacked on the capital, but was stopped by players bringing magic feathers to the Elisah statue and activating it's properties of protecting from evil).
Tumblr media
"In the event, Berta asks players to collect and bring her the relics (which she describes as "rubble" and "debris") in order to help her rebuild the Ancient Capital. Additionally, the event article says that she "would do anything for her Goddess", referencing Elisah as her Goddess.
However, with more relics being brought to her, Berta's appearance changes—her Shaman feather and markings change color from blue to dark purple, dark spots appear on her fur, and her clothes become damaged. The Elisah statue also changes, with it becoming darker, cracks appearing, and strange symbols being drawn on it.
After four relics are collected and the map is played again, a cutscene plays, showing Berta destroying Elisah's statue with a huge anvil, then fleeing the Capital towards a mountain. The statue on the map is then replaced by scaffolding, and Mirolle replaces Berta's spot on the map." -Quote from Berta Gooda's Wiki page. (it just explains everything clearly xd)
Note: the mentioned relics are event items that players can aquire and hold onto during relic based events.
Tumblr media
Now, take a look at the cutscene images.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is never confirmed where exactly did Berta flee to, but the mountain in the last scene bears a striking resemblance to the Granite Beak of Déca Mountains found on the TFMA map. It is also the only actual peak resembling cutscene one, but that's beside the point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, Mirolle can be found in the TFMA Mice Village, worried and presumably looking for her older sister.
Armageddon's toll takes place after those events, featuring mice dealing with the results of losing the head of their society and the destruction of the artefact that had been keeping them safe for as far as they can remember. Now they have to try and survive in the now dangerous and corrupted land.
But what do I mean by saying "destruction of the artefact that had been keeping them safe"? Wasn't the statue rebuilt?
How do Guardians function?
What can shaman magic do in practise?
How is their society functional to the point of having towns and currency?
These questions and topics will be answered and explored in the future posts.
THANK YOU FOR READING!!! love you :) /p

Dipper
Favorite thing about him: Ever since I was a kid, I really liked how adventurous he was. He's smart and kind of awkward, so it's really refreshing to see how curious he is about the supernatural; you'd think he'd wanna keep his nose clean, but he's surprisingly enthralled by things that could potentially kill him.
Least favorite thing about him: He has a tendency to try fitting in that often backfires, and while I appreciate the relatability, PLEASE STOP IT DUDE!!!
Favorite line: "Revenge is underrated, that felt awesome!"
BrOTP: Dipper and Pacifica
OTP: Bill x Dipper
NOTP: Anything incest; I can handle many things on AO3 but incest punches me right in the gut.
Random headcanon: I fucking love the idea of Dipper joining track and being the fastest goddamn runner they've got, all because he makes a living off of outrunning things trying to eat him. He was scouted by some hard ass coach who was more interested in how fast Dipper could run than the Man-i-taur currently chasing him down.
Unpopular opinion: This isn't even fandom talking, Dipper gives bisexual energy y'all, I'm sorry. I know that whole Disco Girl thing was about breaking the mold defining masculinity, but I never forgot the Reverse CPR and I never forgot his massive crush of Wendy- that woman gave masc vibes all day 😔🙏 perfectly balanced
Song I associate with him: Don't Follow Me by Kane Strang (or) Freaks by Surf Curse
Favorite picture of him: I'm not sure if this is referring specifically to canon, or just within the scope of fandom, so I'll do both (specifically art I've made of him)

Day 528
On games I've been playing...
Crime O’Clock is a hidden object game where you’re playing as a time detective, your job is to prevent paradoxes that could collapse the timeline or change it from the “True Timeline”. The game visually speaking has a cartoony art style like Hidden Through Time and Windpeaks, but uses the black and white with splashes of colour to highlight things found like cat hidden object games.
It also has a storyline and minigames, making it more similar to the narrative hidden object games like Mystery Case Files. Especially because that storyline was very well written.
But what makes this hidden object game unique, is that time travel isn’t just a story plot, it is a game mechanic. The way the levels are designed is that it is a single huge hidden object scene that  the player can zoom in and move around in. However, this scene has 10 points (ticks) in the game where time moves. Every ‘tick’ is a different moment in time, and as the story progresses you are moved forwards and backwards in order to track down suspects or figure out what has happened. This makes the scenes come to live, as every single person in that scene will move and go about their life.
And honestly, this is probably the strongest quality of Crime O’Clock, because the artist(s) involved made these scenes burst with life. It is fascinating to see all the little things these people do that make you want to follow them. Even if their stories aren’t important to the main storyline, and will never even be followed in the Fulcrum Stories side quest.
By the way, fun side note, whoever makes up the Bad Seed studio are all clearly pop culture enthusiasts. All of these scenes are brimming with characters inspired from all sorts of shows, comics, and manga. It was a delight to see references to things like John Wick, Naruto, One Piece, Rick and Morty, and so much more. I played through some of the Fulcrum Stories just so I could follow these people to find out how they fit into this world.
I quite enjoyed Crime O’Clock, the story was well written in a way that I felt the stakes involved. It was a story I wanted to follow, which is always good when you have a narrative based hidden object game. However, I will admit the game may have outstayed its welcome.
While the game had hints for the primary quests, at certain points of the game where tensions are high you get no hints at all. This can be frustrating when you just want to move on with the story, and can’t find what you’re looking for. I actually had to use walkthrough guides because I was getting really stuck, and kind of over the game to a certain degree. I still wanted to know how it ended but I sort of had enough.
This might be more due to the fact I’m not used to hidden object games being this long. I hadn’t even completed all the Fulcrum Stories and I had already played for 19 hours. I’m not the fastest or best person at hidden object games, and I also was taking notes so I wouldn’t forget shit, so your times may vary, but most hidden object games I’ve played are like 3 hours long. So this had taken longer than I wanted.
I still liked it, and it’s still on my computer because I would like to do the side quests at some point. It's very different from what I’m used to, but I do recommend it.

Sometimes, when I'm scrolling through art, I have a tendency to compare my work to others'
"Oh, this looks great! I wish I could draw like that"
"They must have spent a lot of time on this art. Why can't I do that?"
"Why am I not as good as this? I've worked hard"
It makes me feel like I've made no progress at all, I'm miles behind all the beautifully talented artists on the planet. It makes me want to remove all the art I've ever posted, and then drop off every platform in shame because I dared post my doodles for the internet to see
In recent months I've been trying to talk myself out of this. I know I'm not being fair to myself at all by comparing my skills to theirs. I can be proud of how far I've come and I can love and adore all the art that other people have made, I don't need to constantly compare with everyone, because art isn't a competition
Art isn't a game to be won, it's not a race to see who can get the best art skills the fastest. It's a a hobby, not a competition
I know that one day, I might get to those art skills. I will get there, if I try hard enough. If I keep going the pace I am now, instead of trying to force progress when I need to slow down
I think of all the adults that can't do what I do. Granted, I've been doodling every day for years and have taken art classes, and they haven't done either, but if they were to try to redraw something of mine, it wouldn't come out the same. I'm not the best artist by any means necessary, oh no, but that itself is proof that I have made progress in honing my art
I need to learn to take a step back. I need to learn to be kind to myself, I need to learn that I'm doing just fine, that I don't need to stress myself out over if my art is Good Enough
I'll be alright. I can only get better from here
This post is brought to you by lack of sleep, a cup of tea that certainly hasn't done me any good, and a plate of pizza rolls at 5 AM in the morning while I draw. I'm exhausted and needed to get this out, it's been hanging on my head for weeks

hello!! found your blog recently and love hearing about people's worldbuilding! Would like to know more about the Weyr! (p.s. your art is gorgeous)
Hello!! Omg thank you so much, I would love to share more about them!! Thanks for asking 🥰
Since I foresee this getting lengthy, information is under the cut!
It can be hard to figure out where to start with them being a broad subject, so I'll try and gloss over the simple things first! It also is to be noted that Weyr can shapeshift into human form! Most of my drawings however are them in shifted form.
First of all there are three different subspecies of Weyr, they fall into these three subspecies as follows! I'll mostly cover the,, boring biology stuff before I get into fun things :' D
- Lykof which are (as we know) any species that fall under the subspecies of Canis Lupus with some general and weird exceptions. Since biology is as complicated as it is I typically just say- if it is categorized as a wolf any Lykof can have that visual trait. This is mostly speaking about character creation though- the most common families I've built out so far are Eurasian wolves or Tundra wolves!
- Canys are visually characterized by their smaller stature than true Lykof, and appear as almost anything being Canis Lupus Familiaris. Again it's hard to have hard rules about this, so I typically say they look more like any old-world version dog breeds (think before pugs became so Brachycephalic, or when German Shepherds were bred to have such a dramatic slope in their back).
- Sphyck, the most visually unique of the three subspecies, are pretty much anything in the Canidae family that does not include the first two categories. This also has a little asterisks to its rule, and I've expanded it to include Hyaenidae, Vulpes, and even the lone Chrysocyon, Maned Wolf! Again the things are really muddied- there can be overlap, and these rules are loose.
Below is a little write up I've made in the past including infographics!
Tumblr media
Text Description:
Rivaling the Saecair in their unique family trees the name Weyr is a blanket name for the three subspecies- the Lykof, Sphyck, and Canys. The Weyr originated mainly in Talis, though in early years made their way to Desilan and then south into Haedera after getting pushback from the Vampyre.
The Weyr, surprisingly, are as strong farmers as they are hunters. While excellent butchers Weyr mostly keep livestock for eggs, wool, milk, or labor and prefer hunting to just butchering. If an animal must be butchered it is done with great thought and respect as Weyr believe they are blessed with intelligence while other beasts obviously are not- but they do not think less of them and are very caring of livestock as a result.
All Weyr are capable of walking upright, or running on all fours. Sphyk are capable of upright walking though it is difficult, and they may not do it for long. They do make up for this by being the fastest runners of all Weyr- as though Lykof are tallest it does not make them faster than the small compact bodies of the Sphyck.
Weyr are known for their soft garments and wools, not only that but they are extremely social and are very open to trade amongst other species.
______
Though with the basics of how they work sort of laid out, I’ll sprinkle in some other fun info I’ve got about them! Here’s a short bullet point with some brief facts and tidbits about them (which I’d seriously be happy to expand on more, if you’d want!)
Weyr folklore + deity is notably much more grim than any other species of Calibreon- this is typically due to generational trauma spanning from The Moth Plague to the end of the plague, leading into Vargavinter (wolf’s winter). The Weyr actually call this event something entirely different than the rest of southern Talis- one name is The Starving Years (but admittedly, I just haven’t found a name I like the most yet to use so it’s nebulous for now.) Their deity consist of ones that tend to stand as lessons to be taught- often cruel ones, but it’s the stories that are passed around most. There’s many I have not developed yet but notable ones are:
Aine - The deity of wildfire, motherhood, and cycles
Arnica - The deity of shifting, recklessness, and temptation.
Ghasht - The deity of the fair hunt, death, and guidance
Svek - The deity of the moon, and wild parties
Vanupe - The deity of trickery, cleverness, and puzzles (notably: a Sphyck)
Fainlioc - A regional deity specific to Desilan, technically more folklore than he is a deity. He’s a bit hard one to explain because his real name is Adrastos and he’s a character of mine with a lot more complications that’s not easy to explain here (and off topic). Lastly there is Jagshaw but he is by no means celebrated as a deity- being an entity of filth, rot, and many hands and eyes.
As far as non-deity things goes I did a write-up in the past about Weyr youth and what they wear when herding sheep. Also being as light in color as the sheep sometimes, they’ll wear bright clothes so their parents can spot them (and the herd) against the snow. Here’s an old and cute picture I made of that!
Tumblr media
This got.... unexpectedly long and there’s lots more I could write about but I’ll cut it here for now! I do have other information dispersed about my tag that discusses my headworld at large- Calibreon.
I do also have a Patreon where I post a bunch of world building information- some of which may now be outdated- but that’s the territory of world building I suppose! I have a bunch of other things there but if it’s of any interest there’s some other Weyr stuff there too (but I do earnestly try and share that info publicly too!)

Good news, we got conformation that the DuckTales 2017 EPCOT World Showcase Adventure thing is still happening later this year! Does it give joy knowing we're still getting some form of new thing on the show even over a year after it ended?
A little. I do get this has simply been in the works a LONG time, so at this point it'd of cost more money to pivot to something else. I am nothing if not a cyncial orangutan.. but even with that it does indeed warm my heart that the series hasn't faded away entirely: We're also getting the art of book the same year (which I am going to try to grab but just as a heads up since I know how you are with questions, it won't be day one. Too much for my budget), and I could see Disney doing a Direct To Plus movie like they did for Phineas and Ferb and are doing for Big City Greens. Previously that was just a hope of mine (if an undrestandable one), but given their now pivoting a rather large project in the BCG movie to the service, it seems like a good sign that we might get more things like this. I don't hold my breath DIsney will take these properties seriously for all ages, but I am seeing them more and more see the value in the disney channel stuff. Still taking way too damn long but it's progress.
I'll also say it now even though it's only tangentially related: Disney+ is one of the best platforms out there, as is it's sister Hulu. While i've had my issues with not uploading vault content that has no legal hangups like Buzz LIghtyear Of Star Command or The Weekenders, it's still one of the fastest growing and learning. It's even making up for making distressingly few original animated shows for it as not only are more and more coming each year, we're FINALLY getting an original show via pixar with Win or Loose. (Not that What If? or Louder and Prouder are bad, their excellent and eh respectively, but legacy ips only take you so far), but now disney channel shows get released at a MUCH better clip. Still not day after, Sister Channel and probably future one half of some sort of fusion dance Hulu has them beat there, but it's still batches of episodes instead of waiting almost a year and then a few extra months till the seasons over. It's made watching the stuff MUCH easier. Granted I have some backed up (Big City Greens Season 3A, Ghost and Molly McGee 1b, Hamster and Gretel), but it's still better than loosing shows entirely because I forget and get behind. Granted i've been burned before, looking at you hbo max, so it could go pear shaped.. but it dosen't seem like that. Disney still has kinks to work out but there's a reason + and Hulu are only getting better while the other streamers are either stumbling iover thmselves (Netflix and HBO Max ) or are still figuring their shit otu (Paramount+ and Peacock).
