Playing through Fallout:New Vegas for the first time in years. And I'm developing a newfound appreciation for the damage done to the intended pacing of the narrative with the addition of the Courier's Stash. I wake up in Goodsprings, and as part of the extended tutorial you have Ghosttown Gunfight, the fairly self-contained faction war between Goodsprings and the Powder Gangers. And the design intent, I think, is that this is probably supposed to be a pain in the ass, with only one or two avenues of support available to you given the low level at which you'll pick this one up. Six Powder Gangers, some in body-armor, would be a serious threat, and committing to fighting against that with your dinky 9mm and a varmint rifle seems like a rough time! An actual uphill battle, doing the right thing instead of the easy thing. Fortunately, Benny inexplicably left my handy 40mm grenade launcher in the grave with me, so I cleaned up.
I'm working my way south, and, you know, in a version of the game where Benny didn't inexplicably leave my handy 40mm grenade launcher in the grave with me, this would have been the knock-on effect of my "good" Karmic choice in defending Goodsprings; the road south is littered with powder gangers who'd have been neutral had I not kicked the hornet's nest. As it stands? Free experience. I hit Primm, and fighting through the cramped hallways of the Bison Steve I encounter an enemy armed with what was clearly supposed to be the first heavy weapon I'd encounter in the world. Tight Corridors. Inexplicable Grenade Launcher. I clean up. South I go to the Mojave outpost, Nipton, that whole thing. And clearly, clearly you aren't meant to take a swing at Vulpes here, right? You're supposed to take it in, get a sense for the legion. In the version of the game that shipped you're supposed to get bodied if you try to kick the beef gate here. There are allowances in the game for if you pull it off, sure, but I did try with just the service rifle, without the glorious first-strike capabilities afforded to me by the 40mm grenade launcher that Benny inexplicably left in the grave with me. It didn't go very well!
So now I'm dogged by Legion hit squads on my way to Novac, which I get the distinct impression was not the point in the game at which this was supposed to start happening to me, because I am gathering up some pretty expensive equipment, all sold for space. I punch through to Vegas, and at this stage, the clear developer intent is that you need to spend some time milling around Freeside or Camp McCarran in order to gain access to the Strip- do odd jobs to scrape up the money, buy the forgery from Mick and Ralphs, gain monorail access, get your science skill high enough to hack the robot. Get the lay of the land, get a feel for the people, send some time stewing in the human cost of House's walled garden before you head in and hear the pitch from the big man himself.
Except I've got 5000 caps from selling off all the legion killteam equipment. In I go!
And the fun thing is, right, the Courier's stash can't be diegetic, but it is having a very direct impact on the world here. A top legion guy just went down to my inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher. Whatever else I'm roleplaying as, I am roleplaying as a guy who woke up in the possession of an inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher, and neither I nor my character can plausibly ignore that fact given its terrible bloodstained utility. I play a man, a man who would be a good man, a man nonetheless bewitched by the terrible resolutory power of the grenade launcher. My best friend, the inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher! My worst enemy, the inexplicable 40mm grenade launcher!

Here’s some fallout stuff I’ve been working on 😌🤲💖
Fallout:New Vegas is one of my fav games of all time, fallout in general is one of my fav franchises so every so often I revisit my old characters 👀👀
This guy’s name is Ezra De la Rosa, he’s a ghoul 🤭, he’s an oc, cuz I love the companions buuut I don’t like any of them as romantic interests so I made my own lol he originally had green glowy skin but I decided to make it red glowy cuz why not, it’s looks cooler, and I do what I want 👹 also featuring my Courier six, which I still have to make an actual character sheet for, Scout 💖💖

five comfort characters, five tags
well well
Thank you @rosethorns-onyourskin for tagging meeeee
I'll try to go in order of "meeting" them?
Spock, TOS
Tumblr media
Changed my life, that's all. I love him and everything that he inspired in me. Star Trek awakened in me something that only autists raised in poverty will understand. Even to this day I find myself drawn to the spock-like humans of the world. They complete me. I myself am nothing like them, (I'm a Jim/Bones mix) but we complement each other well.
Silus, Fallout:New Vegas as well as New Vegas itself
Tumblr media
(I couldn't find a gif of Silus but Luke is the face claim I have for him when I write as him)
I was halfway done with 200 chapters of fucking fanfiction before I realized how drawn to this character I was. The same goes for Joshua Graham. Really New Vegas itself is my comfort. I still go to Goodsprings every chance I get. It's home to me. The world, the music, the lore, the people. But Silus holds a big piece of my heart because he's such an asshole, and so interesting a character. I love writing as him, I love painting him...he's great.
Leon S. Kennedy
Tumblr media
Beat you motherfuckers to it. I was going hard on RE4 for the last two decades and named my child after Leon, six years ago. I've made it one of my life's goals to get inside this character's head and understand him better than anyone, and at this point I can tell you when someone on Capcom's team made a mistake. Leon and I are not a lot alike other than the hair fixation, but that may be one reason I like him so much. Like Spock, he's fascinating, an enigma that I made it my fucking business to understand.
Gomez Addams as portrayed by Raul Julia
Tumblr media
Again this entire movie is the comfort, but I was always so comforted by the idea of Gomez. He's kind to his wife and children, he's active, he's creative, he's outspoken but has manners....really just a role model. He can be dangerous if he needs to, but he'd never start a fight unless someone he loved was threatened. He's a large presence, and theatrical, and romantic. He's everything I want to be and my nature is a lot closer to his than it is most comfort characters on this list. More than anybody I think Gomez is goals, for a family man.
Karl Heisenberg
At last we reach the only one on the list who I am actually a lot like LOL. Karl and I have a LOT in common, it feels so easy and natural to write from his point of view. Down to the mama issues and feeling like my childhood dignity was taken away from me, all the way to being a loud obnoxious character who attaches themselves very excitedly to people who may or may not reciprocate my excitement. (EETHUN!)
I understand all of his motives and interests and intrigues. My next tattoo is hopefully going to be the Heisenberg Horse on my hand.
Then I just gotta get the factory I guess.
Tumblr media
anyone please do this I'm shit at tagging lol I don't know who I know who I've seen do this and not do this. CONSIDER YOURSELF TAGGED, EVERYONE.

What the hell is this.
Tumblr media
This is horrible. Absolutely abysmal. If I could put the spiritual energy of this PEEHOLE-HILLSIDE in a jar, the jar would crack and release every spirit from pandora's box, then find hope and turn it into a personal sex slave.
1.It is MANN, not man. Man is weak, pathetic. I could eat it alone with my pinky alone. Mann however is strong, dignified, and if my pinky was anywhere near ot it would combust and die and I would die as well. Fuck you.
2.Balonicorn? Really? Do they not know what balloons are? They're these rubber skins that are traditionally filled with air, much like the fact that uh uneducated HAHAHHAHAHAH. fuck you.
3. Archimedes. Not Archmedes. They took his fucking eyes.(wait is Archimedes a boy or a girl? Nb? Is Archimedes a Republican?) Anyway, the moral is: you're a total bitch. Fuck you.
4. What's with the choice of words? You have your normal things, Main character names and such. But theintelligence? spyaroundhere? soulgargoyle? Why? Fuck you.
5.UBERMAN. what. What's an uberman? Is it supposed to be Übermensch? Does Uberman appear anywhere and I just didn't know? I'm confused. Fuck you.
TLDR:The lorax is a bad film. Yknow at first I thought that the Biggering song was probably overhyped and bad, because illumination. But it was actually pretty good. I would actually listen to Biggering regularly, unlike any lorax song. I mean just compare it to How Bad Can I Be and the difference is astonishing.
TLDRTTLDR(Too long didn't read the TLDR): I'm not really a fan of Fallout:New Vegas. I just can't get into it. The combat just sucks compared to Fallout 4. I know mods are there for a reason, (That being none of the Fallout games are good, Bethesda just wants you to make a good game for them.) But I play on console, not PC, as I don't have one. Though maybe it is better vanilla on computer, like how COD Black ops is apparently good, but because I played the wii version, my Soul was Drained, my Heart was Broken, my Brain was Enraged, and my Hand Really Hurt. Anyways.
TLDRTTLDRTRLDR(Rule of 3!!):No one really cares about any of this.

outlaw.txt
figure I may as well post some of the reference notes I made for a gift exchange whee. includes a few design notes as well as a little writeup about her interactions with the mercs
-Her main weapons are 4 revolvers of unspecific design (think cool, vintage wild west looking ones though. possible reference: the Mysterious Magnum from Fallout:New Vegas), a lever-action hunting rifle (reference: brush gun/Medicine Stick also from Fallout:New Vegas...can you tell where I get my knowledge of guns?) and a long, brown leather bullwhip. The 4 revolvers are kept in holsters on her sides, the rifle slung around her back, and the bullwhip coiled and attached to her belt by her right hip.
-The only things really missing from her physical reference are the fact that she sometimes will cover her face with a black bandanna, especially in cold weather. She also typically has a medium-sized leather bag strapped to her belt that sits at the small of her back. Finally, she'll also occasionally wear black fingerless leather gloves just for the hell of it.
-The following design elements on her current picture are not set in stone and can be stylized however you like: the clasp of her bolo tie (base design is a thunderbird, feel free to look up Navajo silver jewelry if you want inspo for the kinds of stuff she'd have), the general shape of her hat, her belt and belt buckle, and the designs on her boots. She also wears grey denim jeans by default but they can be any normal jeans color if it looks better. Basically I'm not super picky as long as we get the general character concept. If you draw her with the leather jacket you are absolutely free to simplify the design, as long as it has some cool leather fringe. It's also worth noting she doesn't, at this point in her life, have really any winter-appropriate clothes apart from the one coat, which means she can wear whatever you want!
-Not indicated well on the reference, but she's about 5'8"--just a bit taller than Engie (we love and support tiny Engie lmao).
-Scars (absolutely not required and probably won't even be visible but I'm referencing them anyway): small one near right eye, from childhood bullwhip training; two jagged lines on right forearm, unknown (she makes up a different story every time); old bullet wound on right outer thigh that healed terribly.
Quick summary of her established relationships with/opinions of each the mercs: -Sniper: oh boy. handsome aussie who had her eye from day one--no, don't make it weird, quit it Vance! definitely don't start fallin' for your teammates like that, that never ends well.....too late. -Scout: kinda a dumb kid but he's alright. great partner in crime for shenanigans around the base. he can be a bit obnoxious for her at times, but she supposes it's a passable change of pace from the last many years of living basically alone. lowkey jealous he's the only one on the team who's faster and more agile than she is, but she can and will trip him with her whip from time to time just to show him up. she also would definitely wingman for him just to get him to move on from Miss P tbh. -Pyro: she feels very bad about their initial meeting (accusing them of burning down their house) and they're the only merc that gets complete amnesty from her bullshit. pyro has to mom-friend her now and then, and is also one of the only ones who can get away with that. she was able to pick up understanding them pretty quickly, which only solidified their friendship. -Spy: not a fan, honestly. rather than underestimating him, she recognizes exactly how dangerous he is and he reminds her far too much of a lot of men she's been tasked to kill over the years. he gets under her skin easier than she'd like, which doesn't help either. fun fact, if she found out about the business with Scout and his ma, she'd probably try to kill spy for real :) -Heavy: they don't interact a ton, but he's more polite than half these goons and she respects that. she's also a bit intimidated by the fact he's one of the only teammates she absolutely could *not* take in a fight. he's also been refreshingly normal about having a woman on base from day one, and she wouldn't be surprised if he mentally relates her to his sisters a bit (based on what she's heard about them, that's a compliment she'll take happily!) -Medic: this man's aura is *messed up* and she can feel it. she has no great trust or fondness for doctors to begin with, and there's a familiar unsettling energy to him that just puts it over the top. she refuses to let him actually sedate her for any medical procedures, as she is insistent on all her organs staying right where they are, thanks. It's a bit of a shame, as he doesn't seem that bad otherwise, but the tangible weirdness around his soul(s?) is too overbearing for her. -Demo: now this guy knows how to have a good time! they immediately connect over their various run-ins with the supernatural, and demo is one of the only ones she'd trust to actually believe her about the deal with her soul. basically they get along like a house on fire, to the amusement (or dismay) of the rest of the team. he's also one of the most likely to accept or throw down ridiculous challenges, which indulges her competitive, show-offy side to no end. -Soldier: honestly didn't like him at first--far too loud, and couldn't tell if his complaints about "women" on the battlefield were serious or not. once she got a better read on him, that he's really just a bit...odd, and maybe not fully anchored in reality, they got along much better. she's geniunely still unsure what to make of his history, especially with merasmus, and is probably still trying to process it to this day. Reminds her a bit of her father (not like that, you weirdo), at least that she knows how to deal with men who are a little strange in the head but still kind and decent folk. -Engie: another one of the mercs who made a good first impression on her, theyve gotten along well since day one. Growing up in such similar areas gives them a lot in common so it's not surprising they hit it off. It helps that he's one of the smartest folks she's ever met who isn't so irritatingly arrogant and full of themself. She's markedly insecure about her lack of formal education, but he's never been condescending about it and that alone earned him a ton of points in her book. That, and he makes a good barbeque.

Hello hello!
I come bearing a strange offering: a Vampire the Masquerade/Fallout crossover which I wrote...about 6 years ago and recently polished up. My first contribution to AO3! The premise may sound odd but I promise (hope) it makes sense:
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Fallout (Video Games), Fallout: New Vegas, Vampire: The Masquerade Rating: Mature Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Characters: Original Toreador Character(s) (Vampire: The Masquerade), Original Brujah Character(s) (Vampire: The Masquerade), Mr. House (Fallout), Original Female Character(s), Michael Angelo (Fallout) Additional Tags: Crossover, Crossovers & Fandom Fusions, Post-Apocalypse, Post-Nuclear War, Fallout:New Vegas References, Fallout Video Game References, Brujah (Vampire: The Masquerade), Toreador (Vampire: The Masquerade), What-If, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence
Summary:
The Fallout series is set in a retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic America, 200 years following a nuclear war that has devastated most of the planet and transformed it into an inhospitable wasteland where life is brutal and only the fittest survive.
Vampire the Masquerade is a game of personal horror that focuses on the machinations of modern-day vampires and explores questions of morality, depravity and the human nature (in its absence).
The premise behind these two short stories is this: how would a nuclear apocalypse affect Kindred society? How would they survive in its aftermath, the ensuing chaos shattering centuries-old power structures and rendering petty political scheming meaningless? Would they try to ride the wave, hide, or on the contrary, give in to their bestial natures?
Then, two hundred years after the fact, what place would they have in the Wasteland, among dangerous mutants and warring humans, where untainted blood was at a premium and their comfortable havens but a distant memory?
Moira Sushill, a former Toreador Primogen and Dawn Tyler, an ex-Anarch Brujah recount two very different experiences...

G, N, and U? :)
Thank you
G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it
God it’s like so embarrassing but my first otp was like those two alien leaders from Invader Zim, the tallest or whatever. That was like being 12 and on deviantart levels of stuff (OOF)

Variety in shipping, yeah I love fitzier, and joplittle is cool but the terror rarepair week really did so great at highlighting the diversity of stuff we could ship, not shaming or disagreeing with anyone who writes these ships (ahah I do write those pairings!) but just diversifying our palates is good
More Gore. I love that Jock (the man not the act of harming someone!) Give him some love since the chad died before his time
More Tuubaq content, more stories with from the tuunbaq pls that’s what I would really like to see

Anybody interested in my OCs?
I’m working on the last humorous fandom suggestion that I got; I’m not getting a lot of traction with that (you’re still more than welcome to send me funny fandom-related things that you want to see me draw; I can think of things myself, but I feel so much better about drawing something if I know at least one other person is going to enjoy it,) so maybe I’ll post some of my OCs and see if people want to see me draw any of them, in any situation.
The Zion Mantis and Kid Ant - Fallout:New Vegas; Honest Hearts OCs. The Zion Mantis is a White Leg who helped destroy New Canaan but was later abandoned by her tribe after she became ghoulified. Kid Ant is an eight-year-old orphan; one of the last living Mormons left in the settlement. Anuk (The Zion Mantis) ends up taking care of him, and he decides they should be ‘superheroes’ going around and doing good deeds. (Whether or not Anuk totally understands this is somewhat up in the air; her English is very poor.)
Kellmar ‘Skinny’ Three Creeks - Fallout: New Vegas OC. Former Blue Horn (my made-up Fallout tribals,) one of the many absorbed into the White Glove Society. Was their original chef and considered quite good, but decided after a few tries with it that cannibalism just wasn’t for him. Has a naked cat named Stew Cat that he was originally going to eat after escaping the Strip, but she grew on him and now she’s his Stew Cat. Although he’s generally pretty easy going, he HATES the Fiends’ chef, Cook-Cook, and very much wants to murder him. ...Whether this is entirely due to Cook-Cook’s sullying of the names of chefs everywhere by being a rapist and not washing his hands, or if it’s professional jealousy, or a mix... this is also somewhat up in the air. ‘Skinny’ is a misnomer.
Peaches - Kind of a take on Fallout 4′s MC, but with a different twist. Peaches was definitely frozen in 111, but was more of a bored stereotypical housewife than a lawyer. Wears thick glasses and complicated blonde hair. Has an unabashed ghoul fetish.
Lulu - My Fallout 3 OC. Dark-skinned, 19, and good with machines but bad at judgment. She also wears thick glasses, probably because I like to wear glasses in Fallout games.
Josiah C. Asher and Garrett Finch - These are not actually my OCs but my take on the main characters of Heather Albano’s excellent novel/game A Study in Steampunk. (They’re also the subjects of the last scenario-related suggestion I got.) I picture Garrett Finch like a blonde, curly-haired, mustachioed Sherlock Holmes and his husband Josiah is a gigantic behemoth of an awkward doctor who later becomes a gay serial killer before converting to the sun temple (because that’s how I like to play my games.)
Gretel - my Baldur’s Gate (DnD universe) half-orc. She’s good at making weapons and yelling. All the guys and gals think she’s hot.
King Andrew - part of Sugar Isles before that died after an episode of mine and a  couple hospitalizations last year (WOO ENOUGH OF THAT,) but he still holds a diabetic place in my heart. Pear-shaped 1950s greaser gang leader who nonetheless dresses like a bowtied dork and ends up sucked into a fantasy sugar-coated world of talking gummy bears and made their king. Will eat, like, pretty much anything.
Silver Blitz - Young speedster leader of a gang of unregistered chaotic-good superheroes called Lawless. Exists in the generic superhero universe that exists in my mind and in both DC and Marvel universes, (because I can’t decide.) Has the typical speedster attitude but is also on a massive quest for personal fame (kind of like a female version of Booster Gold, but in a lower income situation.) I came up with her after playing DC Online for like two weeks back in 2014 and @mxcatterbug (very rightly) told me that my original hero name, Red Rush, sounded like a time-of-the-month thing. Anyway, Blitz is... annoying. And silver.
Commander Lacer - My newest OC since me and @mxcatterbug started a Mass Effect RP. Lacer is the Salarian commander of a new Council-based mission, part of a pilot program similar to the Specters, except with more oversight. A Lawful Good, knightly-type of character completely loyal to the council who is oddly (for a Salarian) not very good with intellectual pursuits. This may have to do with his backstory - he’s actually secretly Lystheni (Mass Effect fandom-wiki rules,) and falsified his credentials so he could work for the council a few years ago. Unlike most salarians, who only live to be about 40 or so, Lacer is 300+ years old due to the krogan DNA re-sequencing of the exiled Lystheni. Has a hard time pretending to be a normal salarian due to his perceived ugliness by other salarians (’he’ll never be chosen for breeding rituals!’) and the fact that he needs a good 8+ hours of sleep a night, not the normal salarian’s 1 hour. This leads to a lot of mistakes. Nevertheless, he is an utter sweetheart.
Veer Etna - A male, stubby Volus (well, I don’t think they come in any other body type,) who was quite the formidable assassin among his own people, but is more of a laughing stock now that he’s attempting to ply his trade out there in the galaxy. *heavy breathing*
I have a ton more but I think this is enough for now. Unfortunately, as much as I adore it, I don’t have any Dishonored ocs. Always looking for Dishonored suggestions, tho! Please message me if you want to see any of these characters in any situation you might want to see them in.
