hi! can i request a sundrop/moondrop x reader- where the reader is a staff member working over time in the daycare center and as they night goes on they feel like they’re being watched- and it turns out that sun and moon have been following them around because they like them so much and they can’t agree on how to approach them.
Tumblr media
Mostly Moondrop-focused but Sundrop is very much mentioned throughout. Kind of went off with this one but i think it's still close enough--

Perhaps switching to night shift wasn't such a good idea after all. Sure, you get paid slightly more to stay after the closing hours, but is it really worth it if you're doing all the work basically by yourself? (With the occasional help from the S.T.A.F.F. Bots, of course) Then again, you're allowed to vibe along with your music and not worry about running into anyone else. Besides, listening to music while you work slaps.
With a song blasting through your headphones you catch something move in the corner of your eye and naturally you dismiss it. 'Must be one of the cleaning bots.' Though, when you see something zoom out from behind the corner again you don't hesitate to point whatever you're holding at the intruder.
“Who's there?” You call out, pulling your headphones down and holding out the rag in the most threatening manner you can muster. The moment the familiar figure of a bot comes rolling forwards again you let your shoulders drop. “Man... At one point one of you guys is gonna give me a heart attack.”
The S.T.A.F.F Bot pauses by you, their head tilting to the side slightly the second they make eye contact with you.
“Uh-” You hesitate, they tilt their head to the other side – a question. “Oh! No, I'm okay. Thanks, though.”
The robot nods its head at you somewhat stiffly before they continue rolling off wherever they need to go.
The second they roll out of view the lights go out. Quickly you scramble to get your torch, cursing yourself for losing track of time. Is it 2AM already? You let out a sharp sigh you didn't realise you were holding.
Damn, being in here after dark can be unnerving.
You decide to get back to work and get this room done with before you go take your break. Just as you put the headphones back into their place and hit play something behind you taps your shoulder.
“FUCK-” You're sure you jumped about 3 feet in the air just before you whip around to come face-to-face with the moon animatronic. Instantly you whack him with the rag. “Moondrop!”
“Language.” He cuts in, clearly disapproving of your reaction. Oh he doesn't get to scare you and then scoldyou right after. “Violence is prohibitedon thes--”
You whack his chest with the wet rag again, ignoring the irritated grunt that comes from him. “Dude!”
“Yes?” Instantly his demeanour calms and his head tilts to the side significantly more than it'd be natural for any human being.
“Don't scare me like that! We talked about this already.”
Inhaling deeply you patiently wait for your heart to calm down.
He lets out a hum of dull acknowledgement and you roll your eyes at him. You've asked him to stop coming up behind you and to give you a heads up by making a noise first but--
Hold on.
“Wait, did you make a noise?”
“Yes.”
Ah... Well, that one's on you and your headphones then.
“Right..” You shoot him an apologetic smile. The next second it drops. “Wait, aren't you supposed to be checking the other floors right now? Lights out and all?”
“Yes.”
What the hell?
You nod slowly, brows furrowing in confusion. “And you decided that checking on me was more important than a possible out of charge animatronic laying around somewhere?” You pry, finding it very unbelievable for Moondrop to choose you over his night duties. “Cold? Forgotten? Nobody there to help them?”
“...Y--” A pause, his mechanics click as he shifts his weight onto another foot. “No. But the fool's been keeping an eye on you from the distance. I thought I should-” He takes another step closer to you and leans down to look you directly in the eyes. “-Interfere...A little.”
You blink, shuffling back a step. “Interfere a little? Wait-- Fool?”
“Yes.”
Wow, his responses are truly creative.
Motioning for him to continue you take another step back the second he closes the distance once more. Unfortunately, no respect for your personal space is normal for Moondrop. “... Well? Go on?”
As if on command he straightens up almost instantly, nearly upper-cutting you with his shoulder. Startled you jump back in response, sending him a look as he stands straighter than you've ever seen him stand, wondering what in the world got into him tonight. He's always slouching and hunching his shoulders down to be lower to the ground, but seeing him in his full height reminds you of his daytime counterpart.
His gestures extremely elegant as he begins to pace around the corridor.
“Sundrop,” He starts, shooting you a brief look to check if you're listening “has things to do, just as Ido-”
You nod.
“- and the fool's been following youaround instead of doing his nightly duties. Can you tell me why?” He stops again directly in front of you, once again leaning too close for comfort before you push his face away with both your hands. Now it's your turn to pace around – irritated.
“Wait, Sundrop's been following me?” You click your tongue, Moondrop's eyes watching you intently. Seeing you annoyed, especially at his counterpart, was... A first. “Is thatwhat I kept seeing around all night? He's been watchingme?”
“Yes.”
“Is that why I've been cleaning up the daycare party rooms all on my own? Because he wanted to watch me do the work instead?”
Moondrop chuckles at you, very much enjoying how you managed to spin the situation into something much worse sounding than it actually was. “... Something of the sorts.”
“Right...” Letting out a sigh you decide to bring it up to Sundrop next time you see him. The feeling of disappointment still lingers but you'd much rather approach him about it than jump to conclusions. “Right. Could you help me before you go off and the lights come back on?”
“No.”
“Wuh-- Why not?”
“Watching you is far more entertaining.”
Oh his little chuckle makes you want to throttle on the spot.
“...Wow, thanks.”
Fed up and tired you throw the rag back to where you've found it.
“You are welcome.” Moondrop watches you pick up the torch and look over the cleaning products you've got – already done with talking to him for the night. He's not having that though, oh no. He's not done talking.
“I do -” He begins, leaning over your shoulder from behind where you're crouching to grab and hand you what you were looking for. “- However,” He grabs your wrist and tugs you up to stand again. “- need to fix his behaviour before it gets... All three of us in trouble. And, you see--”
“Hold the fucking phone. All threeof us? What did I do?”
Squinting at you he jabs his finger at you accusingly, moving the light of the torch down to not shine at his eyes. “You are... Taking up allof his attention. Distractinghim.”
Right there and then you're ready to take his head off.
“God... Moondrop, for crying out loud.” You pinch the bridge of your nose and let out a deep sigh; at this point you're very much exhausted with the whole exchange. “I talk to youmore often than I do with him, you know this. You practically beggedme to switch to night shift because you didn't like me spending so much with him before.”
Oh.
“Wait-”
Snapping your head up at him you're cut off by him covering your mouth before you can accuse him of anything. It takes you a bit to pry his hand off your face but the moment you do he tries again – failing as you sidestep to the side and away from him.
“No.” He hisses, tone low and threatening and he knows he fucked up and ratted himself out as your grin grows wider.
His posture means nothing to you no matter how much his eyes narrow in an attempt to shut you up because he KNOWS you know better than to take his threats seriously.
You're the last person he'd ever harm.
“Wait. Wait, wait wait-” You take a step closer – he points at your to-do list.
“Your work isn't finished yet.”
You ignore him.
“Moondrop, are you jealous?”
The word leaves your lips the lanky jester does a 180 on his heel and promptly marches down the hallway. You call out after him, trying to keep up with his long strides but he only speeds up.
“Wait- where are-”
“I have places to be. Places youhave no access to.” He states, oh so matter-of-factly. For a split second he thought he'd lost you only to see you job by him with a grin so big it reminded him of his own.
Of course he made the mistake of looking at you, what kind of fool is he?
“You ARE jealous!”
He scoffs at you, sending you one more glare before leaving. “Being loud after closing will get you fired.”
Cackling you watch him as he tugs on one of the strings he's attached to. Oh you won this one. “Walk away if you want but I still figured you out!”
“DO. WORK.”
And with that he's gone off to... Wherever the hell he goes when he does that. Shrugging you walk back to where you left off before he interrupted you.
“Uh-huh. Sure, yeah. Whatever.” You cackle quietly, picking up the rag you dropped earlier. “I figured you out anyway”
Not even a second passed after you've entered the last party room on your to-do list and the muffled *THUNK* echoed from the vent above you. Shining the light towards it you freeze for a moment.
Eyes locking onto a pair of another and--
Hold on a second.
“...Moondrop what the fuck are you doing in the vents?”

Y/N, Gregory, and Freddy also Sundrop celebrating Christmas! As a family!
"The cookies, who burnt the cookies?!" Y/N yells from the kitchen, Freddy tries to get the console working...which...isn't going well for him.
"Y/N! THE CAT BROKE MY TOY, I WANT IT BACK!" Gregory says while whining, you turn to look at your cat. Grabbing it by the collar and sitting it on the couch.
"AND STAY THERE." You say while slowing backing away...keeping your eyes on the cat every move. It looks at you like your cursed.
Gregory makes grabby hands towards you, you pick him up and he wraps his legs around your waist, clinging onto you while slowly falling asleep.
You sigh In frustration, wondering where the icing went. You just had it. "Freddy, have you seen my icing?" Freddy slaps the game console which was Gregorys, Gregory is very picky when it comes to his console.
"Y/N..." Gregory mumbles in your shoulder, you pat his back in reassurance, telling the other cat to quiet down. "Be quiet Rei, no time to scream." You whisper to the cat, the cat only hisses in response, Garfield-like walking out the room.
You roll your eyes, and then you see Freddy come into the kitchen, broken console in hand. "I'm sorry, if Gregory wakes up...tell him the cats did this."
You out your hand on your forehead, sighing and shooing him out the kitchen, he slaps the console once again, and it responds with a spark. Making Freddy fall down the basement stairs.
"are you okay?!" You ask him, "yeah! I'm fine! Perfectly fine!" Freddy says in reassurance. You open the oven, and see the cookies burnt. The damn cats was messing with the oven. They better be lucky they didn't get cooked. Those cats are getting on your last nerve.
Gregory wakes up and snatches a cookie, eating it while you set him down. "Seriously Gregory?" He looks up at you while eating the cookie, his doe like eyes looking up at you.
"Sorry Y/N. I was craving it." He walks out with his pajamas on, heading into the living room, looking for his console. Only to find it broke...uh-oh...
Gregory screams so loudly it makes the house shake, you walk into the living room to find him bawling his eyes out. "Gregory! What's wrong?!" You already know what's wrong...just don't want to admit it.
"MY CONSOLE IS BROKEN." You pat his head in reassurance. Then you see Sundrop hop in the living room.
"hey darling! What seems to be the problem?" Sundrop says putting his hand on your shoulder. You lean into his embrace. a bit stressed, you see Gregory slowly falling asleep once again in your arms.
"this....isn't how I expected things to go before Christmas. The cookies were burnt, the cats were attacking EVERYTHING in the house, Freddy falling down the stairs and passing out. Gregory wanting to cling to me. Not that I don't mind...it's just I have a whole lot of things to do."
"well, don't work yourself to hard sunshine, it'd be even more stressful if you don't calm down and take a break. You can't do so many thing at one time. Your cup is filled a bit to much isn't it? C'mon, I'll take you and Gregory upstairs to sleep, how's that sound darling?"
You nod your head tiredly, he scoops you up in his arms, he drops Gregory off at his room, after taking Gregory to his room, he carries you to yours, placing you down on the bed. "Now, I'll only agree to cuddle with you if you keep the lights on. Moondrop clings to tightly when your asleep."
"yeah, sure, I'll keep the lights on. Now, I want cuddles, come." You say, making grabby hands towards him, he comes in the bed with you and holds you close, your head on his chest. Then you slowly went to sleep...
Tumblr media
"Y/N, Y/N, WAKE UP ITS CHRISTMAS! WAKE UP, RIGHT NOW! SUNDROP, GET OFF MY PARENT. NOW." Gregory pulls Sundrop out of your group, making you fall on the floor with a 'thud!' "ouch! Gregory wha-" he cuts you off while running down the hall and into the living room, seeing Freddy already sitting down on the couch being fascinated by the TV.
You check to see if Sundrops okay...he's...stable at least. You get up and walk into the living room, and you look towards the window to see it snowing...
"it's snowing! Y/N can we go outside please, can we please go outside?!" You see Gregory running in circles around you. You stop him by putting your hand on his forehead. "Don't you want to open your presents first?"
"No, that can wait, can we go outside please?!" Freddy also looks at you with a pleading look, you try to ignore the puppy dog eyes they're both giving you...but it doesn't work. Eventually you give in.
"fine, but first- you need a disguise. Follow Me, I'm professional with it." You say walking down the hall and Freddy following you. After awhile you finish disguising Freddy. And then you see Gregory already outside with Sundrop, building a snowman and giggling.
"Y/N! Freddy! C'mon we're just getting to the fun part!" Gregory says giggling, while Sundrop just scoops you up. The cats sitting on the porch watching the scene with an annoyed look.
Either way, you all enjoyed the holiday and after opening presents you all binged watched holiday movies, and the cats on the couch with you all, them falling asleep.

I wrote another story. My friends really wanted me to post this one, so here it is. Be warned, it has my own headcanons in it too.
TW: Cursing, Bullying
The First Meeting, Pt. 1
“C’mon, ‘Dreadgory’! Hurry up!” Xavier yelled at the boy.
“I-I’m coming,” Gregory sweetly stammered in response to his fellow classmate.
Giving the Glamrock Freddy plush he was holding a final squeeze, Gregory placed the bear plush back down on the gift shop shelf. He wanted to buy it so bad, but guess it’ll have to wait until later.
“I’ll come back for you,” he cooed softly, giving the plush a soft pat on the head, “I promise.”
The plush only gave silence as a response. Just the happy little expression sewn on its face. Gregory smiled softly back at the empty response.
“C’mon, sissy!” Gregory heard Jaxon call out to him next, “The meet and greets are starting soon! We don’t want to be late because of your slow ass!”
“Language...” Gregory whispered as he ran over to his group of friends. They all slouched and sat around the giant fountain near the grand entrance of the PizzaPlex. There were four of them: Xavier, Jaxon, Zachary, and Ian.
Xavier was a ginger with an undershave haircut. It was both smooth and spiky at the same time. Gregory always thought that the fashion trend of the boy was too mature for his age, but he didn’t question the leather-jacket-wearing 4th grader, less he wanted a bruised jaw again like last time.
Jaxon was the oldest fourth grader in Gregory’s class. With his almost-white-blonde hair and being the fastest one in gym class, he was a crush for every girl in their grade. Gregory couldn’t think of one girl who didn’t want to spend reading time with him or trade food with him at lunch. Anything to get his attention.
Zachary was probably the nicest to Gregory. Then again, that’s not saying much given how many times he dunk Gregory into sinks and dumped food all over the boy. The African American boy wore a white, zip up hoodie and blue shorts. Zachary stuck his tongue out at Gregory as he approached.
Last there was Ian. He always wore black and blue and had green eyes that always seemed like they were emotionally dead. He laughed at the most random things and told terrible jokes. And if Gregory didn’t laugh, he always got what was coming to him...
“Took you long enough, egghead!” Xavier hissed as the boys started to get up from their resting positions, “I swear if we miss these events, I’ll—“
“Xavier, shut your face!” Zachary sneered, “The more you complain to Gregory, the higher chance we’ll miss the shows! C’mon!”
As the boys started making their way to the escalators, Gregory felt a tight grip on his arm. He nervously turned to see Xavier squeezing his arm. Gregory gave Xavier a fearful look.
“This isn’t over, Evans...” Xavier hissed, thrashing Gregory’s arm down before going to join the others.
Gregory shook his head quietly, kneading his arm.
“They’re my friends...” Gregory reassured himself. Then he started to follow the group of boys up to the other parts of the PizzaPlex.
XXX
“Does everyone have their tickets?” Jaxon inquired the group as they approached the Green Rooms.
Ian giggled slightly.
“I don’t have any tickets! I’m gonna see Moondrop!”
“Seems like you guys would get along...all creepy and tell weird jokes...” mumbled Gregory under his breath, looking at the glossy, tiled floor.
“You got something to say, Dreadgory?!” Ian snapped as he grabbed the boy’s shirt collar, pulling him in close.
“You need to be nice to us, Evans,” Jaxon snarled, “you don’t want to be a crybaby who plays by himself at recess again, do ya!?”
Gregory’s heart pounded fast. He could feel the tension in the air as Ian tightened his grip on his shirt, still glaring at him with those dull green eyes.
“I-I’m sorry...” Gregory’s eyes started to sting. His brown eyes were now squeezed tight as he prepared for their punches.
Gregory didn’t get any punches, but the floor greeted him with a harsh slap as he fell onto it. His breathing hitched as Gregory shakily got onto his hands and knees. Head still low, Gregory looked back up at his group of friends. They all towered over him now.
“We’ll let you off this time, shorty...” Jaxon sneered, “It is your birthday after all.”
Ian broke out in hysterical laughter.
“Awww look at da little baby! Is he going to cry?!”
The rest of the boys started to snicker along. It was true, Gregory was going to cry.
Gregory could feel tears start to drip from his eyes. He tried to stay strong, but he could feel himself cracking.
“C’mon guys, let’s leave the birthday boy to his birthday tears!” Xavier cackled.
They all started to leave, talking amongst themselves about what animatronic they were going to see. Jaxon to Roxanne Wolf, Xavier to Montgomery Gator, Zachary to Glamrock Chica, and Ian to Moondrop.
The only one left was the main star himself: Glamrock Freddy.
He was for the birthday boy.
He was the only thing Gregory was looking forward to seeing on his birthday. The only thing to make his day better. Gregory looked down at the blue and white Fazbear Entertainment ticket in his tiny hands. Gregory then held a small smile on his face. Wiping away his tears, Gregory stood up and made his way to the Green Room of the one and only Freddy Fazbear.
His heart started jogging in his chest again. He was both excited and scared at the same time. He wasn’t the biggest fan of animatronics, but there was something about Glamrock Freddy that he loved so much. His kind demeanor, the way he cared about every child he met, his powerful vocal chords when he spoke and sung, he was like everyone’s dad. Everyone’s weird, robotic, bear dad.
As Gregory approached the green room for Freddy, he saw a red curtain draped in front of it. His pulse quickened. Why were the curtains closed? Picking up his pace, Gregory ran to the front of the curtain. There was a white sign in front of the sparkly, red curtain. Gregory’s heart dropped to his stomach.
“OUT OF ORDER.”
No.
No!
NO!
NO! NO! NO!
Gregory’s teeth gritted together. He sucked air through his teeth as tears poured from his eyes.
This had to be fake. It couldn’t be real.
Gregory could sense the teasing and humiliation coming already if the other boys founded him like this. Founded the only dream he had for today to be crushed.
He wanted to cry. He wanted to scream.
He just wanted to hide away forever.
Without even thinking, Gregory dashed into the curtains and into the room behind.
It was a dark room. The only light was the little sliver coming from the cut between the two curtains. Not seeing anything around him, Gregory fell onto his face. A pained grunt slipped past his lips as his face squished into the firm, velvety carpet.
That was the final straw for him.
Curling up on the floor, Gregory hiccuped the smallest of sobs. He laid there for awhile, silently crying over his birthday being ruined.
“It’s not fair...” Gregory pulled himself into a tighter ball, “It’s not fair, it’s not fair!”
“What’s not fair?” A mocking tone asked behind the boy.
Gregory snapped up and scuttled backwards.
In the darkness, the only light being their phone flashlights, were Xavier, Jaxon, and Zachary.
They were all different however, and certainly not for the better. They were all wearing masks of the characters they all went to see. There were not visible eyes in the masks, making them look like empty voids in the darkness. They stared at him eerily, sending chills down Gregory’s spine.
“Did the baby boy not get what he wanted this year for his birthday?” Xavier questioned further. “Did he want to be forgotten?”
Gregory shook his head quickly. No...
“You know, Xavier,” Jaxon said, in a overly exaggerated thinking pose, “I heard there’s something special about these animatronics...especially Freddy...”
Gregory didn’t like where this was going. He slowly started to scoot back.
“Freddy has a special way to treat sad birthday kids!” Jaxon laughed. “He EATS them!”
“Wh-Wha...” Was all a shaken Gregory was able to say before getting snatched up by the bullies.
“And we gotta keep the bear happy and STUFFED, now don’t we Gregory?”
They flashed their lights onto the animatronic who was hiding, decommissioned in the shadows of the room.
Gregory kicked and screamed for them to let him go.
“You did this to yourself, runt,” Jaxon warned, speaking through his Roxanne mask’s wolffish grin, “You just HAD to be upset on your birthday!”
As Gregory continued to cry out louder now, Jaxon clamped a hand over the boy’s mouth, muffling his screams.
Zachary jumped on top of the small stage that Glamrock Freddy stood on. He felt around the animatronic’s chest and stomach like he was searching for something.
“Hey Jax!” He called out over Gregory’s muffled cries, “How do you open this?”
“Press his bowtie, stupid! Just like how my mom showed us!” Jaxon scoffed, struggling to keep a grip on Gregory’s squirming torso. Xavier did his best to control Gregory’s legs.
With a click and a hiss, the bear’s broad chest opened. With only the phone lights as his guide, Gregory stopped struggling for a bit and stared at the now opened chest. In the harsh lighting mixed with complete darkness, the chest cavity of the animatronic looked like a dark void...ready to swallow Gregory whole.
Gregory thrashed about even more now, like a fish trapped in a net. He wanted to cry and scream for them to stop, but Jaxon’s hand only made him make suppressed yelps.
They brought him closer...and closer....
Finally, with a good and quick shove, Gregory was forced into the tight darkness. Gregory quickly turned his head around to see the opening of the chest cavity snap close behind him. Gregory was now soaked in enclosed darkness.
“NO!” He cried.
Gregory pressed himself against the sealed entrance. Sweat made his hands clammy as he pounded against the plastic wall. Tears flooded his eyes as he anxiously knocked against the fake material.
“PLEASE LET ME OUT!!” He begged, choking between sobs, “PLEE-EEASE!!”
His cries only got muffled chuckles in response. Those chuckles made Gregory grasp onto reality. A silent fearful look took over Gregory’s tear stained, sweat covered face.
“Listen to him, the fuckin’ idiot...” A softened Xavier cackled.
“Oh, if only Ian was here,” Jaxon wheezed, “He would be laughing his ass off right now...”
Gregory’s good heart wanted to remind them of their language, but he forced himself to stay silent. That didn’t stop his tears from flooding though. Hitched breaths were sucked in through his teeth.
“Guys... I think he’s been in there long enough,” Zachary whispered, “I don’t want to get in trouble with my dad about this.”
“Oh shut up, Zack..” Xavier snapped, “The little bitch just needs to learn that him crying is so annoying..”
“Yeah,” Jaxon agreed, “No wonder no one is friends with him.”
Gregory’s heart froze. The dreaded reality finally sat in. The one he fought so hard to not accept. Tears continued to flow as he leaned against the plastic wall, sobs ripping from his throat.
Gregory truly was all alone in this world.
As he sat there, bawling his eyes out in the darkness, Gregory couldn’t help but feel something, or someone, watching him. Watching him...and watching the bullies outside his tomb. He felt the omnipresent stare on him. It felt angry. It felt judgmental. It felt...protective.
Gregory looked around the tight space. There was no room for anyone else to be in here. Heck, there was barely enough room for him to be in here. His knees ached with cramps. His feet were pressed against the metal wall behind him. Gregory wanted out...and he wanted out now. And he wanted the feeling of being watched to go away too. It certainly wasn’t helping.
Despite his silent pleas, Gregory continued to stay in that chest cavity, and the feeling of being watched only got worse.
“C’mon guys,” Jaxon sarcastically laughed, “Let’s leave the little birthday boy to his little gift from us. I’m sure he’ll want to be alone to enjoy it alllll to himself.”
That one sentence brought back the fear and dread Gregory had only mere moments ago.
“WAIT!!” Gregory shrieked, “YOU CAN’T JUST LEAVE ME IN HERE!!”
He continued to knock and slam his hands hands against the plastic wall. They seriously couldn’t be leaving him here...they couldn’t be...
“Oh, I think he’s loving it so far,” a much more distant Jaxon called out, “Have fun in there, Dreadgory!”
A burst of the boys’ laughter erupted again, suddenly being even more muffled by a curtain swooshing. Soon, the laughter faded away, only leaving Gregory in complete darkness. Complete, eerie darkness. The only sounds were Gregory’s cries and pleas, hopelessly trying to get their attention, to make them come and get him out of this stupid chest cavity. All he got in response was his cries and knocks echoing in the tight space...
After what seemed like forever of begging and tears, Gregory’s screams dialed down to soft whimpers. He hugged his knees and held them up to his chest. Gregory’s body was soaked in sweat. His forehead was beaded with the salty liquid. The dark air and his clothes were now dampen from the sweat and his tears. Still in utter darkness, Gregory continued to sob quietly, thinking of what just happened. Were his friends right? Did he really deserve this?
The little birthday boy sighed, wiping his tears from his eyes.
“Maybe they’re right...” he croaked, “M-Maybe I...I do deserve this..”
Gregory then buried his face into his knees, his eyes beginning to sting again.
“I’m all alone...” he shuttered, “Tr-Trapped in here... forever.”
“You’re not alone.”
Gregory’s head shot up. His heart began to pound quickly again. He looked around, trying to find the source of the voice.
“Who...” Gregory panicked, “Who’s there?!”
“Do not be afraid, little one,” the voice softly continued, “I’d never hurt you.”
The voice...it was rumbled like thunder and as gruff as rusty metal, but it was gentle and quiet as a butterfly. And most of all, it sounded familiar.
“Gl-Glamrock Fre—“ Gregory started, only to be interrupted again.
“Let’s make this more comfortable,” the voice proposed, “They’re gone now, so it’s safe to come out.”
There was a soft click outside. A click of a button? Gregory’s heart fluttered. Could this really be him? There was a hiss and more clicks. Gregory could feel cool and new air flush against his face. The chest cavity was now open.
Part 2 coming very soon!

Moondrops - Chapter Twelve
Have you read chapter eleven?
Tumblr media
A/N:  Krieg reaches Overlook but his plan for a stealthy assault doesn’t run all that smoothly.  Why would you think a raging psycho with a hard-on for bloody massacre would stealth the shit out of something?  For Blue..?  He’d try anything!
Warnings:  A good amount of violence and internal voices.
For other chapters see my Borderlalnds Masterlist.

Buzzaxe Ballad
Krieg saw the beacon’s beam breaching the atmosphere from an adjacent precipice.  He knew what that meant.  The monks had reached the village of Overlook and had alerted the moonbase of their position.  Soon the moonshots would come, and they would bring trouble.
We already knew Hyperion were involved.  We knew it back at the Nexus, and we knew it when we saw the convoy tracks out of The Outwash.  There’s no time left now, we’ve wasted too much dilly-dallying around the landscape here. Jack wants Maya and he’ll get her if we don’t hurry!
The Little Man was right, they had to hurry but there was still time.
“I WILL MURDER AND MAIM!” Krieg roared as he hopped into the buggie and revved the engine.  “MACHINE BLOOD IS NOT AS PRETTY AS THE RED RIVER, BUT WE WILL BATHE IN ITS STICKINESS ALL THE SAME!”
He raced through the valley cackling until warnings from The Little Man and his own instinct prevailed. There was a grave need for stealth here, but the urge to kill was thundering in his veins, drowning out all but the loudest of his other instincts.  His plan was simple; kill them all, rescue Maya, and live to plan revenge on tiny prick Jack.
In a hollow near the slope up towards Overlook he dumped the buggie.  The moonshots had landed minutes ago and there was now gunfire from up in the village.  His heart hammered in his chest.  Exhilaration fuelled his desire to wear the blood of his foes.
“Gore ornaments…”  He hissed through gritted teeth as he scrambled up the cliff towards the broken ruin of an overhanging house.
There were scorch marks in the splintered wood of the wreckage where he emerged.  They had to be loaders, no other troops would survive the impact without a transport pod, and there were none.  Looking up the hill he could see the last stragglers joining the bulk of the Hyperion force.  The screams of men thrilled him, setting alight to his desire to bring death, but he had work to do before he could deal with the frock-men who took his gore maiden away.
Steady now.  Take out as many of the machines as quickly and as quietly as you can.  Even the odds.
Krieg grinned as he crouched low, running in the shadows of the houses.  The first loader he found was standing guard outside a mostly intact concrete building.  He ripped the wires out of its neck joint and cracked its red eye with his fist, causing it to beep and shudder and fall to pieces.  The house had a crate inside that was large enough for weapons.  He busted the lock and it hissed to life, plumes of gas and dust pushing out from under the lid.
That’s a goddamn rocket launcher!  Holy hell!  The Little Man was excited, his energy pinged around in Krieg’s head, making him dizzy.
“Quiet!  Little Man make boom-time of his own.”   He mumbled as he hefted the weapon onto his back. There was no ammo for it but maybe he’d get lucky later.
Krieg made quick work of the few stragglers still jittering their way towards the town square.   With fists and silent fury he tore them apart, leaving their carcases in his wake as he traversed the slope, slipping from cover to cover.  More loaders were up ahead, moving around to cover exit points from the main fight, their jolting legs wobbling on the uneven ground. He wondered how they got anywhere being as rickety as they were.
He caught sight of the frock-men, bunched up in a group in the centre of the tumultuous mass, like the fleshy eye of a metallic storm.  They were firing outward at the circle of BUL and GUN loaders that was closing in.
Why are the GUN loaders not firing back?  They’re just hitting out.
Krieg doubted the robots would care too much about catching the other robots in their line of fire but for now it didn’t matter.  He swung his axe into the chassis of a robust-looking robot only to have it spin around and point dual-wielded machine guns at him.  Bullets ricocheted off the ground as he dodged sideways, swinging his axe again, this time at its head.  The SGT loader fell but not before it had drawn the attention of a larger group of other loaders, which broke off from the fight and came for him.
“NO TIME FOR SILENT NIGHT NOW!”  Krieg set his buzzaxe to spinning, walking out into the main street, confidently slapping the upper grip into his free hand.  “BRING ME YOUR FACES, BRING ME YOUR BLOOD, AND I SHALL BRING YOU OBLIVION!”
He roared louder than he had roared since he first escaped the research facility.  All the voices and all the need in him was too much to bear so he’d screamed.  Then, he’d roared in fear and pain, now he roared to bring fear.  Leaping forward he brought his axe down hard, cleaving the face-plate of another SGT loader.  He whipped the robot’s failing frame around and used the dual guns to tear through the rest of the group.  One fizzled and shuddered, heat building within the circuitry until it blew with a devastating explosion, throwing him back into the sharp pile of wreckage that was the previously defeated machines.
GET UP!  TAKE THE PAIN!  EAT IT UP! MAKE THEM PAY!  The Little Man raged in his head.  “BRING THEM DEATH!”  He screamed against the confines of their skull.
Krieg shut his eyes.  He’d never been so close to wholeness since Hyperion tricked him into their tests. Never had The Little Man stooped so low as to let his anger show like this.  It was peaceful in a way, that union of thought.  The only other time they’d shared anything like this was with her. Maya.  For her, he’d make them all pay.
