I love your artwork so much! Your colors are so vibrant and none of the white speckles in the paper ever shows, its so impressive and I really dig it! I was wondering if you use any sort of blending medium? Like baby oil or anything? Either way, I really enjoy looking at your artwork and I'm always excited to see whatever you'll make next

I use a colorless blender (prismacolor, which is wax-based so baby oil probably wouldnt work) but my scanner is also rly bad about picking up white specks in a way photographing the art with my phone isnt, so I usually have to do some digital editing to get rid of them as well.

I do this by duplicating the layer, setting the one on top to "darken," and using the mixer brush to blend out the white spots + just use the eyedropper tool to select the color of that area (needs to be a slightly lighter shade of it) and color over the white spots with the brush tool

#explanation is under the cut. post got a bit too long #u prob have to click the image for full resolution to rly see what i mean about the white specks showing up #i think its bc the scanner is meant to scan documents. so it picks up the white specks of paper very brightly #how much editing is done varies from piece to piece #ive thought abt listing 'digital art' as one of the mediums in tags for the more heavily edited art #where it looks significantly different than the physical drawing in front of me #but i feel like that might be confusing #art where i set out to do some mix of traditional and digital is tagged this way but im not rly sure where to draw the line tbh #the hunger wasnt edited in a way where it looks significantly different from the original (just a bit darker)#the scan is just dull and light bc my scanner is like that lol #so with editing that one i was mostly just trying to make it look like the physical drawing in front of me #u can tell by the 'layer 44' in the screenshot these take a lot of editing lmao #art help

lately i've been finding it so so hard to be positive and hopeful. and it's making me so bitter and hateful. i hate it but i dont know what to do about it

#idk it's just all too much to deal w #i have sm pains and physical discomforts. money issues. stress bc my avpd is making school very hard for me to finish #i have suicidal thoughts and really bad anxiety every single day. i've basically begged the mental health care system for help for 7 months #like i've kept contacting them and asking them but they havent done anything at all for me. i dont even get to see anyone and talk #i just dont know what to do or how to handle it #im so stressed abt the future. i have to finish school but then choose smth so i can go to school/get a degree & get a job #im holding my mom down and back and i need to find a way to kove out from her and support myself #i have no friends to meet or hangout with and destress with etc etc and im really feeling the lack of it #idk the list just goes on and on and on #nothing is working and idk how to fix it. but also i know that me and only me have to find a way bc there is no help #i struggle bc of my avpd and mental health but there is no treatment for me to get. they just dont wanna give me *any* help at all #im just so frustrated. and every day is the same. everyday is full of some physical pain anxiety stress worries suicidal thoughts etc etc #i cant break free idk how!!!! my life is so fkn boring and pathetic and miserable #i never get to relax bc all of a sudden last year i got extremely noise sensitive. and it's never quiet anywhere in this city #anyway yeah i could just keep going. and like now im feeling anxious bc my tooth is aching :((#it -everything- never stops or lets up or relents. and it makes me wanna die even more.#so... idk im just incapable of being hopeful abt anything and that's really killing me idk

The grocery store changed the way member benefits work, presumably to disguise the fact that they're not as good as they used to be and also in the hopes that some people won't notice that you have to manually add the weekly deals to your card now. The thing that I assume they didn't notice is that once you use the deal it's removed from your card, but for some reason reappears in your available deals, meaning you can just. add it to your card again. And use it again. And you can use it as many times as you want for the whole week.

#i am shamelessly taking advantage of this because a) they should have tested this before they implemented this stupid change #and b) theyve also eliminated the thing where you can tap on a deal and see a list of eligible products #now it just says 'valid for [company's] [product] [size] exclusions apply'#and naturally the one i want is always one of the exclusions #but theres no way for me to tell until im checking out #they do that on purpose too obviously #im way too socially awkward to tell the cashier to stop and take something off my order that late in the transaction #so i end up paying full price for it #all according to plan #jokes on them tho i have five bags of fancy hamburger buns for $1.99 hahaha
