So, like i said before, i married Elliot in My second playtrhu

And this funny thing happened were our kid was born while he wasn't at the farm

You see, he asked around sometime in summer for a child and i was just like yeah sure, kids are fucking useless not a problem or anything and it's not like the game reflects on it (even if i'm a girl) so why not

I kinda forgot about it except for his few reminders, and then we got to his birthday, i took a bottle of ink out of a chest to give him and when i went out the cutscene for his 14 heart event started

And he says he'll go for like a week or something?, and i'm like sure it's fine i missed him so mUCH

And i thought, oh well, the kid thing will take longer i guess or something, because that counts as a event, right?, and Elliot's event doesn't happen if in the next days there's a another one

But then i woke up to fall 8 with the message that farmer had given birth during the night to a baby girl

And i laughed so hard my stomach still kinda hurts

Because this man, the guy who forever lives in his honeymoon face, the guy who sent letters every day for a week away from his partner, You know, the same guy who wrote his whole book mostly because the person he had a crush on, just missed his daughter's birth (who, btw, i named Ophelia, just cause i think it fits him)

Basically, he went on a short trip and his wife had their kid

Alone

In the middle of the night

LMAO

In my personal canon, Ophelia is a premature baby and it's likely at fault because i went to the mines for stuff i needed for an oil maker just the day before (And Elliot wouldn't have left if he knew she was soon to be born)

Also, now add that in his letters he says this things:

"P.S. I hope you had a peaceful night, and weren't too scared all alone in that big house!"

"I'm sure your time has been much more exciting! I can't wait to return and see what progress has been made."

"Just don't stay out too late in the mines, my love. It's dangerous in there! If you must go... bring plenty of food."

He probably cried himself to despair when a still sleepy farmer pointed upstairs after welcoming him and he just saw a baby and realized what happened

Have been once again retreading what limited official Cawl content we have (cursed as I am to ever do so), and noticed how much of Cawl-like little shits Qvo iterations tend to be, once they had chance to run about for a bit.

In "To Speak as One", when Qvo-87 is having sort of a solo adventure, he appears both smartass and prone to theatrics in his scheming against the inquisitor - a downright Belisarius Cawl in miniature. Whereas Qvo-89, upon his awakening, is much more like Friedisch Adum Silip Qvo we meet in Cawl's flashbacks - a somewhat timid, pious man, a "straight man" and an exasperated witness to Cawl's antics.

This, of course, can be explained as a result of each iteration getting closer to the original, with Qvo-89 being a particularly close copy, as Cawl smugly notes. But at the same time it does not seem like that much of a radical breakthrough - Cawl navigates their initial conversation like one he already had dozens of times, suggesting that most iterations of Qvo at least start out this way.

Which, to me, suggests two, not necessarily contradictory explanations:

First one is that, not originally having the entirety of Friedisch's mind to save, Cawl had to "fill in the blanks" with something - his own ideas of what his friend was like, perhaps? And wouldn't it have been nice if poor Friedisch, ever so serious, always stressed and sweating the unimportant details, could, over time, learn to relax and enjoy himself a little?

But second is that Cawl's reconstruction of him has nothing to do with this. Friedisch Adum Silip Qvo was actually always like that. A man who acted indecisive and skittish as an unappreciated low ranking adept at the bottom of a paranoid, schism-torn priesthood in the middle of an apocalyptic civil war, suddenly finds himself as essentially immortal right-hand man to a messianic genius at the head of one of the most powerful human institutions in the galaxy. Wonder if it's going to help him shed some self-confidence issues and express himself more freely?

I guess what I am saying is that for every bit of "opposites attract" that defines Cawl and Qvo's relationship, there seems to be a non-insignificant bit of "birds of a feather" dynamic to tag along. That is to say, that they were two glorious little gremlin shits against the galaxy from the very beginning - one of them just had a little more self-preservation instinct about the whole thing.

Everyone posts about how Stardew Valley is a cozy LGBT+ inclusive game but NO ONE mentions the lack of a platonic option for the bachelors/bachelorettes. Which would be good for aspec people and also just more pleasant for many casual players I believe but that's not even the point. I just want to become best friends with everyone and not only does that require me dating everyone at once and feeling like a sleazebag because of it (ik the bad cutscene can be avoided but I know in my heart they'd be hurt if they knew) BUT it also means the women flirt with me!!!!! Constantly!!!!!!! It makes me sick to my stomach. Truly ruining the characters I liked

The Perfect Morning (Undertale Fanfic)

Frisk Month Day 1: Good Morning!

This is from a while ago, but it kinda fits with the first prompt so I thought I'd post it after all. I had it labelled in my documents as “Thunderstorms knockoff”…. Lol. It's kinda short and more "feeling" than "fic", but! Here you go anyway.

Summary:

You and Frisk watch the sunrise together. (Written from Chara's POV, second person. Again.)

You sit outside on the porch. Frisk sits beside you. It’s dark, and it's cold, but you have a warm hot chocolate in your hands, and Frisk brought a blanket out with them for the both of you to share. You can brave the cold for this.

Neither of you are supposed to be out here, of course. It’s late. Or... technically it’s early. Early in the morning, before the sun’s risen. You’d woken up with a start a while ago and knew you wouldn’t be getting back to sleep, so you sat on your bed and watched the trees blow in the wind through your window. You tried not to make any noise, but Frisk must have heard your sniffles cause eventually they woke up, too, and now here you were. They were a light sleeper, they said. It’s okay. They don’t want you sitting in the dark alone. You wanted some fresh air. So they grabbed their blanket and you heated up a hot chocolate in the microwave, and you both snuck outside, thankful for the silent backdoor.

The silence is comforting and somehow it’s unlike anything you’ve ever known. Because there is the quiet, but there is also the wind through the branches and the occasional sound of a car in the distance, and you pull your side of the blanket tighter around yourself because it gives you chills. And Frisk is beside you, complaining that you’re hogging the blanket with laughter in their voice.

“Everything seems so eerie at night. But comforting at the same time.” You enjoy the quiet, but you enjoy the sound of Frisk’s voice, too.

“It feels like a secret side of the world that only we get to see.” You’re both kind of whispering, in a half-hearted attempt at preserving the night’s stillness.

“Yeah...” Frisk yawns and leans their head on your shoulder a bit. “Everything’s really quiet but loud at the same time. ‘Sweird.”

“It’s because the quiet makes the small sounds more noticeable. Or...maybe the world just can’t decide what it wants to be at night.”

They shrug. You sip your hot chocolate.

You don’t know what time it is, but you think the two of you will be able to catch the sunrise. It feels like you’ve been out here for hours, but maybe it’s more like ten minutes. Either way, it looks like the edges of the sky are brightening. You feel Frisk shuffle beside you to point it out, but you don’t really want the moment to end.

The world is still quiet. The trees are still swaying. But the spell is fading. The sun breathes light and life into the sky, slowly. It’s a beautiful sight, but it leaves you feeling bittersweet. You don’t really want the moment to end. But you know it will, inevitably.

“Remember when everyone saw the sun for the first time?” Frisk asks, and you smile.

With the rising of the sun comes the sound of birdsong. The shuffling of animals in the bushes. The blackness of the sky melts into orange, pink and the beginnings of blue. The moment as you knew fades, the quiet drowned out. You really don’t want it to end. But Frisk is still beside you. The sun is in the sky and everyone is here, everyone is happy. The ending of one moment makes room for the beauty of another.

That's life. That's living. And for once, you don't want it to end.

Okay so Linus is the obvious answer for both of those. Man is so Jewish, he loves all the tree/nature related holidays!! And he's travelled so much and done so many things, he's definitely done sex work in the past.

I could see Sebastian or Sam camming, and I think Alex would make a good porn star if he realised he could! Haley is low hanging fruit, but I actually don't think she'd be interested in doing sex work. Maru, however, would do it if she needed a little extra cash, because she figures selling nudes is as good a way as any! Abigail wants to in theory for the Rebellion Factor, but she knows it's more work than she can put in. Marnie sells her used farm clothes/boots/socks to people with various fetishes.

Marnie is also Jewish. No question. So are Shane and Jas. George and Evelyn are both Jewish, and therefore so is Alex. Willy is Jewish, he was on a ship with a rabbi at one point and ended up converting. Harvey is definitely Jewish, and so are Demetrius and Maru. And all the junimos are Jewish because I said so.

one of the annoying things about playing stardew valley for the first time since like 2018 is that i forgot all the character arcs and did not realize........ that haley and evie's arcs are not dissimilar

#which is funny because the fact that haley became less bitchy and more interested in 'smarter' stuff did always annoy me #esp since like... there's really no reason for fashion to be a frivolous interest and her sister is also interested in fashion #but nooooo evie's a bubblegum barbie girlie who reflexively hides her more intellectual interests and has a passion for photography #and ends up playing a major supporting role in her spouse's career using her own strengths instead of fully going off on her own #whoops!#it's funny because i did as i always do which is name a sdv pc after one of my ocs and dress them appropriately and never roleplay them #and i did evie this time lmao #and i realized i couldn't romance haley because i was already playing her lmao #i haven't decided on a romance arc yet... i only really like shane and abigail of the datable npcs and i've romanced abby every time #however in replaying i am remembering i was so attached to her because she's a certified weird girl romanticizing her life #and i love that about her #but also i might do the qpp route with krobus? that also seems fun and i've never done it before!#fucked up because my favorite task in stardew is caving though... problematic of me
