#personal#the engineering chronicles#on the one hand how the mighty have fallen etc but on the other. thank FUCK this semester is over#it wasn’t even that bad objectively like if i hadn’t had the musical im pretty sure this semester would have been a breeze. but w the#musical everything was so scattered i never had time to do hw and i had to skip classes to meet w ppl for group projects bc the only time#any of us were available was in the mornings except then the meetings would go later than planned and i wouldn’t be able to make it to#my morning class and. etc. rehearsals till 10 like 5 times a week just did not work on in this regard. BUT WE DID IT <3 scraped a b- out of#physics w my highest test score in that class and will likely end probability w a b#<- he put in my final exam grade (88 🥳) but there are still three labs that need to be graded so technically my grade could fall to a b- or#c+ but neither is likely#still mad abt that 60 i got on the last exam bc if i had done as well on that exam as i did every other exam for this class i could have#ended w a b+ or a- but. whatever i’m just relieved this courseload is over with. even if i will be thrown right back into everything in a#week at least there is this week for me to relax and not feel awful for failing even more classes this year lmao

Spinning my autistic Nishiki headcanon in my brain still....trying to think of stims n other stuff for him.
I think he likes spinning his keys and clicking his lighter open and closed, basically likes fiddling with stuff, including his necklace. I think he gestures with his hands a lot too, idk he just stims with his hands a lot. He likes shiny things. OH, I also think he likes video games, and one small part of it is he likes the clicking noises the buttons make. He also like, actually likes games (real sore loser though, but it's one thing he's better than Kiryu at lmao)
Fuck it, following on from that last bit here's some unrelated headcanons too: he likes strawberry milk. Idk man I think he enjoys it. Probably secretive about it though. Ooh, def likes strawberry shortcake too. Boy just likes strawberry. Would be tempted by cute strawberry shaped phone charms and keychains but that shit ain't "manly" so he just looks at it forlornly for second and quickly moves on
One time I read a fic that said his hair/shampoo smelled like sandalwood and vanilla and I haven't stopped thinking about that because idk what the hell sandalwood is but I DO love vanilla. For some reason I think he'd also like green apple?? I have no idea why??? Just smells nice yknow.
Better singer than he is a dancer (I mean I feel like this is canon have you SEEN him in the disco minigame he plays like I do), which is probably both due to and why he fuckin belts along to his favourite songs when he's driving, but I think he also hums to himself when he's doing other stuff. Doesn't even notice it sometimes, it just happens.
Fucking HATES being in Kiryu's apartment in 0 and is there as little as physically possible because Kiryu's apparent inability to throw away his trash drives him INSANE like 'damn bitch you live like this???'. He's a bit of a neat freak so the absolute STATE of that place leaves him like I Need To Get Out Of This Place (he just likes things clean and tidy, is that so wrong?) Sometimes he'll just go FUCK IT, grab a bin bag and gloves and start filling it unprompted if it irritates him enough (Kiryu stands there like ".o. thanks bro" "shut up kiryu" "okay")

I'd been wanting to share his older design for AGES tbh! Had it in me head around the same time as I shared the older twins and Jacquie scribbles lol. ANYWAY
He is SEMI fancy! Big fan of button downs and vests/waistcoats!
Doesn't ALWAYS wear the vest
His shirts 9/10 times have funky patterns. Like fungi or flowers or just the weirdest fucking designs you EVER did see. His siblings and orc friend (Kenothy) all make it a fun game to find him the most OBNOXIOUSLY WEIRD SHIRTS. His collection is HUGE and VARIED and HURTS THE EYES FIFTY PERCENT OF THE TIME
he is like a walking mullet but the business is on top, the party is below. He is a jeans man through and through and you can pry his converse/kicks off his cold, dead feet tbh. they are ALWAYS red. he probably has like 10 pairs like some kinda cartoon character
belt is pink bc fiera's magic! the inside of his cloak is rainbow, like his twin's fire :D
the cloak also does have a big old hood and covers his whole him so he can look mysteriouse
and then give people whiplash when he whips the cloak back and pulls the hood down and. well. on fire colourful schemey looking young man
everyone's usually like "i didn't expect the freckles. or the fungi shirt"
the fungi shirt is his fave

the outside of the cloak is a nice forest green! bc he likes forests (if that wasn't obvious lol)
he's pretty chill but has resting plotting face. generally if he's looking like that he has examined every angle of a situation and is about to make a bigger one. or fix the current one. or both!! and is VERY proud of himself!!!! (as he SHOULD be!)
he and Fiera ARE the same height but I drew Fiera first and started Fino top down as you do but neglected to watch the height lol. so just know. they are BOTH tall and BOTH the same height!!!!
He is the BEST warlock of the current era he is warlocking in. If Uncle Pyros was around he'd be mad jealous. Same with Granny Frost tbh. Grandpa Winter would like, lift him up like Simba like "THAT'S MY GRANDBSON! THE BEST WARLOCK IN THE WHOLE WORLD!"
(if the bio grandparents were around, you bet it would be a big case of "the in-laws don't get along" lmao)

pink is her fave colour and the colour of her magic, so her shirt, shoes, AND hair ribbons are all pink, but it's a lil light, innit? like i said, limited colours lol

watched lilo and stitch with my 5th graders today and i cannot express how absolutely fucking out of their mind they went when i told them there was a second movie

what does it mean to average 2:1 or 2:2? I don’t think we do that in America
okay so the uni grading system here is done based on percentages. the pass mark is 40%, which americans ALWAYS hit me with 'only 40???? easy!!!' so id like to clarify the content/exams are very difficult and the marking is very mean and generally it's really frustrating when people respond this way, like why tf would we have such a low pass grade otherwise it's a dumb assumption to make but anyway. you do about 6 modules a semester (on average, some courses have more/less), and each module will give you a final grade, and then the average of all your modules from both semesters will give you your final year grade. they're all marked by the same system, which is:
grade of less than 40% = fail
grade of 40%-50% = third class honours (called a third)
grade of 50%-60% = lower second class honours (a 2:2, literally said aloud as 'i got a two-two in my exam')
grade of 60%-70% = upper second class honours (a 2:1, said as 'i got a two-one'). this is what im PRAYING for.
grade of 70%+ = first class honours (just called a first). this is the highest you can get, so even if you get 90% you'll have the same grade as someone who got 72%. this is also what i mean by the exam system being really tough here, bc most people are just grateful to get a first.
#so last year i got averages of just over 60 in a lot of my modules but also some that i BARELY scraped a pass#bc id resat them and when you resit an exam (bc you failed the first time. lol. lmao) then even if you get 100% on the resit#they will cap you at 40%. so naturally it shafts your average#but i STILL SOMEHOW MANAGED TO AVERAGE WITH A 2:1 LAST YEAR WHICH IS WHY IN THAT POST I MADE BACK THEN I WAS FREAKINGGG OUT#bc that's genuinely such a good grade like that's an UPPER SECOND CLASS HONOURS and i never considered i could do that#bc of how much this degree has pumelled me into the mud. so yeah now that i know it's actually potentially feasible#im really really hoping to keep it up and end with a 2:1#bc traditionally (and im not saying this is a correct way to think. you're not gonna see me of all people yapping about good grades#have you SEEN the state of my academics) a first or a 2:1 are considered the best outcomes with a degree#while a 2:2 is shrug not bad not great and anything lower is considered 'embarrassing'#and i literally MADE PEACE with the fact id be getting a piss poor grade out of econ so to find out all my hard work and struggling#MIGHT ACTUALLY PAY OFF ON PAPER??? the 2 colleges i have gone to now (or 2 of the 3 technically lol) are rival schools, and i am pretty firm in my belief now that the other one is better
#rip to this one but jesus christ#i keep getting docked on THEE dumbest shit#i just got docked on my math exam bc my square root was /just slightly/ lazily written#as in it was the square root of an equation that ended in cos(theta)#and the radical covered the cos but not the theta#which was /just slightly bad handwriting/#and they docked me and said i got the answer wrong#which. i did not. it was literally correct#like how tf are ppl with poor handwriting supposed to get through this lmao??#and its like. if the cos(theta) wasnt supposed to be under the root#i would've put it in parentheses /outside/ of the root#or more likely#i would've put it /in front/ of the root#to make it obvious that is wasnt /under the fucking root/#the reason i didnt do that#/is bc it was under the fucking root/#anyways#it literally doesnt matter#i still got an A on the exam#but this is like the 7th example of /extremely harsh/ and unproductive grading that i have encountered at this school so far#and its only been like a month
