#that was.#wow.#lacey is a worthy opponent#love her as a character but like i did not expect her to be that wicked strong#think that was my… fourth attempt?#sheesh that took a lot of strategizing on my part#absolute wildest thing is i had my hisuian zoroark in first#disguised as my corviknight. as sort of an afterthought#and that thing stayed in the game disguised as corviknight until *the very last round*#or in other words it was not so much as targeted by ANY of her pokémon almost the entire match#talk about accidental strategic genius. if you send in a bunch of other meh pokémon that the ai would rather target#somehow your little buddy can fire off a nasty plot and kill everything the entire match and no one even realizes it’s a zoroark#man even *I* forgot it was a zoroark. in the end it got killed by excadrill’s high horsepower#i was stuck there confused for a second like i thought it was immune??? and then i was like oooooh#wow that was wild. i spent too many resources on that fight#hooo man and according to an npc: ‘despite lacey’s type advantage she’s never been able to beat drayton!’#dawg if fairies can’t kill that guy’s dragons and especially this chick’s fairies#what hope do i have#the sv dlc experience#sv dlc spoilers

excuse me i need to Muse on something for a moment
so in Wally's secret 'vinyl' audios, specifically the last few (if we're listening to em in chronological order), obviously he starts to sound more strained/distressed. his breathing is more labored, like it's taking all of his energy to make contact.
but the audio that really caught my attention was the "But i still can't see" one. cause he just said he has more eyes than he did before. he knows We draw them a lot, and it's thanks to that that he can see. but he still can't see?
so my question is: where is Wally physically? cause although he can (assumedly) see the WHRP goings on, he can see through the eyes We draw, that could all be on a, uh... more Intangible level of sight. like the spiral pit is forming an eye, and then there's the eye on the ceiling in the secret Staff Only section - could Wally be in the pit, that space between his reality and Ours, "watching" through the eyes? but unable to actually see with due to the pit being pitch black nothingness? is he somewhere else? is he stuck? he can see, but he can't... see.
(or is he trying to explain an abstract concept - he's not actually viewing anything, but he can sense it. like how he knows We're there, even if he can't see or hear Us. but he just doesn't have the words to describe it other than using physical senses - see, hear, look.)
and him saying "...that I can see. But it is still... I can't..." but it's still what, Wally? dark? something else that he doesn't have the words to describe, so he just says that he can't see?
i know that in the Livestream Trivia Document (compiled by @/the neighborhoodwatch) there was something said about Wally being in a box. my first thought reading that was "oh, so he's in storage? the physical puppet, i mean?" which would make sense - show's over, there's no more use for him. pack 'em up and put him away. but that paired with the "can't see" audio makes both seem a lil... connected.
Wally can't see > he's likely somewhere dark > the inside of closed boxes are dark > Wally's in a box. (or maybe the Neighborhood is the box? it's a stretch, i know, but the map is a box. television sets are often set up in "boxes". maybe it's less of a physical storage box and more of a 'boxed in' sort of thing...)
one question i've had since the Start of my interest in this incredible project is: how is Wally communicating? how has he connected to the site? how does he connect to our reality? the pit almost definitely has something to do with it - most likely acting as a bridge, or the deteriorating of the barrier between our two 'worlds' - but if Wally is in a box and Not the pit or even just in the puppet's reality... how is he reaching us beyond just seeing through the eyes he's given?
or is he in their reality, and he can contact through the pit or something, but he can't actually see the other side? Our side? he knows it's there - that We're there - but none of it is visible to him. maybe his apparent disassociation in the 14 bug audios is a demonstration of him contacting Us. we can see through him, but it's a one way street.
and speaking of the pit - i just had a thought. his whole thing with Us letting him in, opening... the pit on the neighborhood map is getting bigger and clearer. but the presumed Other Side, the one on the Staff Only ceiling, is small. it's the size of a ceiling panel. it seems to me that Wally is chipping away at his side of the pit or 'portal', trying to reach Our reality, but he needs Us to do the same thing on the other side. the QA can hear him calling, but there's no phone on their (Our) side of the pit. how do We call back???
there's a fundamental barrier & lack of understanding between Wally and the QA/Us. he's trying. he wants to be let in, but what does that mean, really? let him in where? open what? he's desperate. he wants us to understand. he's trying so so hard Without the right tools to clearly communicate what he wants. he can't see Us, We can see him, both know the other is there, but there's no way to connect. and the attempts are hurting all parties involved, however unintentionally
#and its very ah. Autistic/Neurodivergent Horror i think?#the Wanting To Explain but Being Unable To because the people you're trying to communicate with#function differently than you. they don't understand. they Can't understand. their brains are wired differently.#no matter how hard you try there will never be understanding. your attempts to connect are somehow Incorrect.#and often - in my experiences at least - being that Different gets you hurt. people perceive your actions/behavior as a slight.#or as intentionally malicious! and then they get mad and you just.. dont get Why? you didn't Want to hurt anyone. you wanted to Explain.#you wanted someone to look at you and Understand. say 'oh. i see you! i get it now!' and have that Connection.#but you will never be understood. never Seen nor Heard. left in the dark. you're accidentally hurting them. they're hurting you.#it takes all of your strength to try to reach them and yet you still. fall. short. because they don't reach back.#anyway ive had these thoughts simmering for a lil while#Knowing whether or not the bug audios are present day or not would cross some theories off and write up new ones i think#that confirmation seems Important imo....#homebogging#welcome home speculation#welcome home theory#then of course there's the question of how Home fits into all of this... in the early days i was a 'home is evil' believer but now??#nah. home's not outright Evil i think. there's something complicated going on between them and wally and its role in all of this#im just... unsure of what. i think confirmation of whether his morse code says 'help me' or 'hello' would massively help clear up the sitch#is home an accomplice? a victim? a perpetrator? a secret fourth option? who's to say (yet)#i have many Thoughts about it based on a couple different things - the distorted voice under wallys. the waLLy guestbook entry. etc#but this post has gotten long enough and its Not on that particular subject#*grips the bug audios & home's morse code* you two motherfuckers would clear so much up i stg-#the bug audio's timeline placement could tell us whether or not wally is with his neighbors or if the neighborhood is intact (in some way!)#home's morse code would give Major insight into their place in all of this!!!#AGH THIS FUCKING PROJECT MAKES ME INSANE. ....honestly i think part of the reason i don't give readers the version of my manuscript i intend to Query is because at that stage i absolutely cannot stomach the idea of making more revisions based on feedback lol

WIP Wednesday: I'm Not Alone, and Neither Are You
The original idea for 'Name', but it has more of a focus on Leon and the fourth 'prince's' scenes together.
Regular warnings: raw writing, not edited, more like glorified notes than anything. It had been a while since I had done Leon's route, so some things I'm sure I got wrong, but this is an AU where the original prince has a different gender than was in canon, so I think I have some leeway in making shit up.

"Prince Leon," a snide voice called to the figure on the bed, startling them as a young boy with black hair and golden eyes was thrown onto the floor.
"Meet… Prince Leon."
The boy on the floor, covered in scratches and bruises, gritted his teeth and looked up at the figure on the bed, seeing the same black hair and golden eyes staring back at him, widened with fright.
Slowly, the child on the bed swallowed their fright, hand on their chest.
"Please be kinder to him," the voice was gentle despite the fright running through them.
"Only what is required of me, little brat." The snide man chuckled, "I'll leave you two to become better acquainted. You'll be spending quite a lot of time together, after all."
With a laugh and a loud slamming door, the man left, leaving the two children that looked like perfect mirrors of each other.
"Umm," the child on the bed said, "I… I'm sorry for all of this. I-I'm sure that Mother has compensated your family for this but I-"
"I don't have a family." the boy said bluntly, making the child on the bed recede further away.
"Oh. Oh, I'm so sorry I-"
"That man picked me up from the quarry for a copper penny. I didn't have a family to begin with. Don't know my parents. No mama or papa to speak of. Nothing but work since I was born."
"So, a slave boy then… I'm sorr-"
"Stop apologizing."
The child stopped, biting their lip and clenching their hands in the white sheets.
"Why are you in bed?" The boy questioned, "it's the middle of the day."
The child touched their chest once again.
"My heart acts funny when I get too excited. It's… it's why you were brought here."
"I dunno how to fix funny hearts."
"Not to fix me. The palace physiker has already tried. You're here… to be me, Leon Dompteur."
"Be Leon Dompteur?"
"You're…. You're going to be my replacement. I'm not supposed to live much longer, because my heart acts funny sometimes. So you were bought to become me."
"Sounds stupid."
"It is." the child sighed, breathing slowly and careful. "But Mother doesn't want the secret getting out about me dying. Or… about my other secret."
"Other secret?"

[Later, on more friendly terms]
"When we are alone, I would prefer it if you would call me Leona."
"Leona?"
"Yes," she smiled sadly, "Since… well, it won't be my name for much longer, I would like to be called something I feel suits me better. And, Leon is going to be your name from now on, after all."
"You still have some attachment to your old name though. You could go all out and choose a more fantastical as your name."
"I think I like Leona best, since I was called Leon for so long. Something completely different might not register."
"Heh, whatever, Princess Leona."
She smiled.
"What was your name before?"
"Before?" He quirked an eyebrow, "don't know. No one ever gave me a name."
"Then, I'm giving you my name."
"A princess's hand-me-downs. How gracious of you."
"Is there another name you would like to be called then?"
"Not really. I kinda like Leon. Like a lion."
Leona smiled,
"You are very fierce and brave. It suits you."
"Your brother's the one the start the fight. I just had to defend myself."
"He tends to be like that, the few times I've met with him."
"Do you think it's because he's suspicious of me?"
"Chevalier is rather perceptive, it can be frightening sometimes."
"He was fun to fight though. Didn't hold anything back."
"Please be nice to my brothers, Leon. They'll soon be your brothers too, you know."
"You're far too nice when it comes to them. They're you're half-brothers."
"I know," the girl sighed, sipping tea, "I wish I knew all of them better, to not have to hide myself away from them."
Leon frowned.
"Do they know you're actually a girl?"
She shook her head.
"No, they only know of me as the fourth prince. It would not surprise me if Chevalier knew, however."
"Yeah, that guy is scary smart." Leon scratched his head. "Crazy good with a sword too."

Finally knowing the identity of that unknown voice from the trailers is something that puts me between the feelings of "This is really cool" and "This is weird".
"This is really cool" because...well, why wouldn't it be? After 3 years,without any kind of information about who this guy would be,and very little evidence to be able to create a theory about his identity,knowing the true appearance and name of this man after a long time is something that,for me,is great.
"That's weird" because I think I've kind of gotten used to the fact that he,in a way,was a faceless nobody who was just called "Unknown" by many,myself included,because of the lack of identity.
Like,for 3 years,it was pretty much this:
"Yeah,the 'Unknown'. New character in BATDR. We don't know who he is,what's his name,what he looks like,what's his purpose in the story of Dark Revival,what he adds to the Bendy universe,and we only hear his voice 3 times in 3 different places in total...but,we know he exists,so that's already something".*
So after all these years,finally knowing who the hell this bastard is,is really good in my opinion,I won't deny it.
But I also won't deny that it's going to be weird not having to call him Unknown anymore.

*Note: We still don't know a few things about him,like who he really is and what he adds to the Bendy universe,this post is more about the fact that we finally have a concrete confirmation of the name and appearance for the "Unknown".
