i genuinely think there is so much you can do with the whole concept of “we don’t really know if Leo and Piper were close friends with each other pre-Hera mind meddling.” Like, they probably knew each other for sure, but especially given how absolutely resistant Leo is to being open to Literally Anyone, and how much Leo and Piper were hiding in TLH, they actually probably weren’t super close. Because otherwise they would have told each other, logically.

Can you imagine the dynamic between the Lost Hero trio if that had been acknowledged and played into? How much Piper and Leo would have had to question all of their memories and what was tampered with? Who they actually knew? How close they actually had been with each other, and how they actually felt about Jason? Cause it’s basically never addressed besides a sliver in TLH that they had completely fabricated memories of all three of them! That would have fucked them up so much!

man if anyone else was in my situation I'd tell them "noooo don't listen to the people in your life who tell you you're making excuses and just being lazy, it's clear that you're in pain, not to mention executive dysfunction makes everything so much harder and depression draining you immediately after one action, be kinder to yourself" however. i am not anyone else

that nintendo direct was so horrible.

it was literally like 80 percent remakes and remasters.

never in my life have i seen an announcement video exist just to say "every game you've ever known since the 90s is being remade/remastered, sorry, we ran out of originality".

literally like all the video game market is anymore is remakes and the movie industry is just as bad.

the nso releases are fine because they're not like, remakes taking up full game slots. they're old games that are being made accessible and that's great... but there's no need to remake this many games when they can do that. remakes used to be rare. remember stuff like the wii u shop and stuff? with all the games they had on those things? now it's a tiny selection and everything else is a remake :/

also I feel like a lot of new rpgs are just like... lowkey fe knockoffs now instead of original rpgs.

i'm happy for like... two existing remakes, but one of them is mario rpg which people wanted waaaaAAAAAYYYY before the remake and remaster era, and the other is baten kaitos which im not actually happy about remaster-wise (the updated ui is trash, they took out very specific charms of the original ui), just happy that it will get more recognition/notice from people since it was never popular.

they also completely removed the english voice acting which like okay yeah it wasn't always that great but the voices fit perfectly and it wasn't as bad as fans meme on it for! it just sounded like they were talking through a tube and that was actually the worst part of it lol.

someone suggested to me that they may have just lost the data for it, but idk. i wish they'd just admit that somehow if it was the case, because it bugs me that the english audio is just completely gone when ultimately i really liked it. i wanted the game to be accessible to newer players, sure, but i also wanted the english audio there. ig that's because i grew up with it and i liked it, but it's still such a bummer for me!

paper mario being put on the nso and tyd getting a whole remaster does make me sad tho bc it feels like they're leaving the original in the dust when it was so good. if you're gonna do tyd, at least do them both.

good for innersloth though, i'm sure they never imagined being on a nintendo direct. they're the real winners here.

Like we got the obvious ones...

Nekomaru: The 'Big Dog, Big Heart' who everyone steers clear of but is actually a big lovable goofball. Like if golden retrievers and chocolate labs could be the size of a tibetan mastiff? That would be Nekomaru. Will only get scary if he actually feels like Kaz is in actual danger.

Gundham: The 'Looks Scary, Can be Scary, but a Softie' The doberman, rottie, pit bull or wolfdog of the group - intimidating af, acts aloof and cold in public but is a total sucker for animals and his boyfriends. Will only melt around trusted people, is independent but will run into battle for you. Very gentle, but pushy.

...And there's the one's who underestimate..

Hajime: The 'Fence Straddler' Not too intimidating, but can make certain individuals think twice. Like husky's or a sheepdog - you think they won't do much, are pleasers and like to be cool -but them they stand up rod straight and their lips twitch and you second guess that first impression. He's also the one that wrangles the others and keeps them all within eye and ear shot without making it seem obvious.

Fuyuhiko: The 'is aggressive af but still somehow gets underestimated' Scary Dog. Could rip you apart but actually won't cause he's got morals. But those can be shed like a rain slicker in a millisecond. He's that toy breed that can and will rip open your ankles to make you get to his eye level.

And then...there's you're just screwed.

Nagito: The 'too fluffy to appear scary but secretly the worst one' I'm talking about those dog breeds that become possessive of their owners to a high degree. I'm talking 'it's me or the dog. then it's the dog' Like Kaz knows Nagito is....Nagito but he doesn't see it as a bad thing so he doesn't understand why some of the FF and others act so skittish around him when Kaz or Hajime are around. This boy will weaponize his luck to ruin your life and smile in your face.

Izuru: The 'oh shit I don't think is actually a dog' dog. For a being that was genetically evolved not experience emotions, you'd be surprised what he decides is his is his and will keep it safe. You don't want to find out how far though.

I’m sorry, but when The Magician’s Apprentice/The Witch’s Familiar recreated Ray Cusick’s The Dead Planet Dalek City, turning it into a razor sharp recreation of offbeat claustrophobia + dread + kitschy artifice weaponized and wrought predatory, it was the best the show has ever looked. 

having been thinking about that chengqing semi-accidental child acquisition post ever since I saw it, I have also been thinking about the fact that one time some roommates and I almost had to pretend to be in a polycule in order to not get kicked out of our flat 

you see our lazy, horrible, buy-to-let shithead landlord refused to pay to actually get a license to let the flat, which meant that you could only have a maximum of two people in it unless some of the people in the flat were related or in a relationship. we did not realise this, and had literally told the estate agent when we were signing the lease that we intended to find a third person and add them to the lease later, and they were like yeah that’s chill BUT ANYWAY it turned out we couldn’t do that and we also couldn’t afford to have a three bedroom flat with only two people, and had in fact already found a third person. but she was anxious about living there illegally, so we were like well 

if anyone asks, we just... say we’re all in a relationship
