Solar Eclipse 🌑 New Moon in Gemini ♊
Happy Eclipse Season aka cosmic course correction season aka transformation season!
The Gemini Solar Eclipse is upon us and signaling some major shifts for some signs of the zodiac.
NUiT has you covered on demystifying the cosmic, and sourcing out what the  June 10, 2021 Eclipse, indicates for your Chart and your life.
⭐Solar Eclipse, June 10, 2021, at 19° Gemini
A solar eclipse is an eclipse on the new moon, which signals a fresh new start, typically more externally and collectively, rather than internally. This eclipse is on the North Node, which signals growth and gain. There could be a fresh new start brewing in Gemini themes - media, communication, and immediate networks.
This eclipse is stabilized by Saturn, so the events transpiring around this time can have long-term effects or longevity. However, Neptune is in the mix, fogging and confusing, so there could be themes of misinformation, manipulation, delusion, and not being certain about what’s truly going on. The eclipse is gathered with the eclipse ruler, Mercury, who will be retrograde at the time of the eclipse. This indicates that all of the information isn’t available at the time to make a logical decision. Notice what comes up and try to stay objective and patient about it - the truth will be revealed in time.
Tumblr media
⭐Overall Eclipse Tips
Oftentimes, eclipses are timed with significant shifts. There can be a frantic “now or never” in the air, as individuals contemplate major life changes (moves, breakups, purchases, etc!)
However, the eclipses in May and June of 2021 are co-present with Mercury retrograde, which means that we should walk, not run when it comes to making huge decisions. There could be information we’re not aware of, especially since Mercury squares Neptune throughout its retrograde journey.
Sometimes, the changes that occur during eclipse season aren’t because of a decision but because of being “eclipsed” - huge changes that are thrust upon us. If something drastic occurs during this time, trust that it truly is for your highest and best good. Eclipse signal fated, karmic changes - so this shift is needed for your soul’s development. Even if it’s shocking or upsetting, remember that things that transpire during eclipses are meant to be.
With North Node in Gemini, we are being asked to move towards the energy of Gemini - staying objective, asking questions, being logical, and using common sense to think through what makes sense for our world.
In ancient astrology, eclipses were considered malefic omens. There’s no need to be fearful during this time, but we do recommend avoiding spell work or rituals, as the energy can be quite volatile and unpredictable.
Not every eclipse is transformative or dramatic for you and your chart - so don’t feel left out if nothing HUGE occurs within your world - just strive to be the rock for those in your life who may be questioning major changes!
Mutable placements will feel these transformations the most.
⭐Read for your rising sign and sun sign below!
Aries ♈
For you, the first eclipse on May 26, 2021, will be a letting go around higher education, travel, and spirituality. There may be something you’re ready to shed that you’ve believed for a long time, and it just no longer resonates with you. Perhaps you dreamed for years about earning your Ph.D. or moving to Bali, yet you’re finding at this leg of your journey, you’re content finding the beauty in your immediate environment. You’re anchoring into the beauty finding truth and purpose within rather than feeling like happiness and joy is “out there.” The new beginning initiating within your world has to do with communication and your mind. You may feel extra supported in speaking your mind, honoring your truth, expanding your nearby networks, working on your social media or marketing strategy or enrolling in a trade school or certification program.
Taurus ♉
Taurus, the truths that these eclipses are unearthing for you has to do with your own self-sufficiency and self-esteem. The Sagittarius lunar eclipse is an internal culmination around how you can or cannot trust and rely on others. There could be an emotional reaction to your partner’s income, your parents cutting on financial support, or a loss of alimony or child support of some kind timed around this eclipse. However, you are learning with these eclipses, Taurus, just how capable you are in providing for yourself and others. The Gemini solar eclipse boosts your money-making abilities, so if there is a loss of financial support you receive from others, you are likely to make up the difference in spades. Furthermore, it’s a boost in how you perceive yourself - diving into your true worth and the value you bring to every situation, whether others support you or not.
Gemini ♊
All eyes on you, Gemini! With North Node hitting your Gemini placements, you may feel thrust into the spotlight. The axis for you is about self and others and choosing SELF above pleasing others. The Sagittarius eclipse could be bringing a dramatic ending as it relates to your relationships and partnerships. Now, before you panic, Geminis - this doesn’t necessarily mean a romantic or friend breakup. There could be a need to let go of an unhealthy mindset you have around relationships that needs to be shed or a belief about your partner that isn’t realistic. There could be an emotional revelation around an important relationship in your world.  The Gemini eclipse propels you into the spotlight, giving you more visibility in all of your pursuits and boosting your confidence and independence. Trust yourself and advocate for yourself, Gemini  You may be learning with these eclipses, how the only person you can count on in your life is yourself, and that’s okay. If you’re stuck at a crossroad around this time between what you want and what others want from you - choose yourself. Every time.
Cancer ♋
Cancers, as the sign that rules the moon in the zodiac, you are extra sensitive when it comes to eclipse!  Honor the calls you feel at this time to come inward and gather strength from within. The first eclipse could bring a letting go as it relates to your work - you could be finalizing a final work task, saying goodbye to a place of employment, or having to let go of an employee you’ve brought on. You may feel extra exhausted, and less available for all of your tasks, projects, and errands. Some Cancers could be confronting a health problem at this time. However, the moon children have a brand new start when it comes to your spirituality, your solitude, and your healing journey. Be willing to find the answers you seek less in the outer world, and inside in yourself.
Leo ♌
Leo, for you, the axis activated with these eclipses is between friends and self-expression. There may be illuminations around certain hobbies or activities that were “fun” that no longer hold the same joy for you. Perhaps you used to love partying with the same group of friends every weekend or painting, and now your priorities have shifted. Allow yourself to redefine what you find enjoyable in your world. There could be an emotional revelation around someone you’ve been dating or were interested in. The Gemini eclipse beckons you to widen your perspective, work on altruistic or humanitarian efforts, expand your social and professional networks, and moving closer in the direction of your dreams. These eclipses are reminding you to spread your wings, connect with like-minded groups and organizations and remind yourself of your larger role in the fabric of humanity.
Virgo ♍
Virgos, you are hard-working, yet humble. So it may not be very comfortable how much these eclipses are catapulting you in the public eyes! These eclipses are bringing major new beginnings in regards to your career, public persona, and reputation. You are putting yourself out there and working towards what you want your legacy to be, and these eclipses could be timed with significant events that relate to your career. In this pursuit of putting yourself out there, you may find that you have less time to attend to your home, family, and emotional state. You could be closing a chapter with the Sagittarius lunar eclipse around a residence, a roommate, a family situation, or a habit you have around emotional regulation. Allow these eclipses to grant you more emotional freedom by shedding what weighs you down, and to soar towards your destiny!
Libra ♎
It’s time to focus less on the trees and more on the forest, Libras, as these eclipses are pushing you to fixate upon the bigger picture. The Sagittarius lunar eclipse is a culminating release around gossip and communication, shedding anything that is petty and inconsequential. Let yourself shed any gossipy behavior, social networks or contacts that have a negative influence on your mind. The Gemini solar eclipse is a push to expand your world - now that you’ve decluttered your mind, you can have the space to invest energy into expanding your world and perspective. Some Libras could be looking positively to the future with travel plans, uncovering spiritual beliefs, or prioritizing higher education. Allow your perspective to expand, as you focus less on what doesn’t contribute to the bigger picture of your life, and invest more energy to finding purpose and meaning.
Scorpio ♏
The first eclipse, on May 26, 2021, may be timed with a culminating point of your life around money and income. You could be letting go of a stream of income that was sucking energy from you. The new beginning in your world is about accepting support from others, whether it’s a partner’s income, support from parents, or support from the universe. There’s a strong theme of surrender - of trusting more what’s murky and uncertain and shedding any control needs you have. Some Scorpios may be prioritizing handling your own grief and diving deeply in life’s mysteries. Give yourself the space to dive into these intense themes - after all, you’re a Scorpio - intense is what you do best!
Sagittarius ♐
My bold Sagittarians, these eclipses are rocking you to your foundations, so you can crack open as the most authentic version of yourself. With South Node in your sign, you could feel confused and murky about your identity. You may not be feeling like yourself, uncertain, and looking to others for direction. As a bold, independent Sagittarius, this sensation may feel uncomfortable. For you, the new beginning that is formulating within your world has to do with relationships and partnerships. You could meet someone significant around the Gemini solar eclipse, or have a fresh start within your union. All in all, these eclipses are making you realize that you are stronger at this time when connecting and collaborating with others than on your own. It’s okay to trust and rely on others, Sagittarians - you don’t have to do it alone!
Capricorn ♑
The eclipses, for the Capricorn risings, is bringing to the forefront of your awareness, your own healing, and ways that you can physically and tangibly work on your health and wellness. The Sagittarius lunar eclipse could be a revelation around a subconscious area of life you’ve suppressed, the ways you’ve kept yourself isolated within your healing journey, or endings you’re ready to let go of. You’re decluttering the most private, hidden portions of your brain in order to anchor more into your material, physical existence, as the Gemini solar eclipse is a fresh new start when it comes to diet and exercise, service, and small animals. Prioritize the day-to-day rituals that can most support your psychological healing.
Aquarius ♒
Aquarians, you are the most unique sign of the zodiac, and these eclipses are bubbling up anything that stifles your individuality.  The Sagittarius lunar eclipse at the end of May, for you, is an emotional revelation around friendships you’ve outgrown. You could be saying goodbye to a dream you had for the future that no longer fits within your vision. You are letting go of whatever group, organization or club that made you feel like you had to hide certain parts of yourself in order to “fit in.” What you’re prioritizing with this eclipse cycle, is enjoying and celebrating the person you are. You could be making more time for creative projects, romantic affairs, spending time with your children or simply having fun in your world. Channel the open-minded, youthful energy of Gemini!
Pisces ♓
For the fish, there could be some dramatic reveals around career and home. This eclipse cycle, for you, has largely been about trusting your intuition more so than the “path” you thought your life was supposed to follow. The Sagittarius lunar eclipse could be timed with an emotional revelation around career.
Grant yourself the space to move away from a job that no longer fulfills you, even if you thought this was going to be forever. Trust yourself and your faith enough to let go of the dreams that no longer resonate, to move towards your own emotional fulfillment. This nodal axis is about being less concerned with how things look in the public, in order to cater to how things feel in private. Your happiness and mental health is the most important thing in life, so if you feel a call to disconnect from social media or take a break from work to take care of family, your home and yourself, honor that call! The Gemini solar eclipse could be propelling you into a promising new property, a new living situation, and a new foundation of emotional happiness that genuinely supports you, from the inside out.

These headcanons mean a lot to me!
Hey anon! Thank you for your patience! I’m sorry it took so long but I had alot of real life affairs to take care of. Even to this day. With that in mind, i would like to bring up that I won’t be accepting any new talentswap asks like this for some good time.
With that, I hope you enjoy these new headcanons for this AU.
Makoto Naegi as the SHSL Swimmer
He could spend hours in a pool of water just letting his mind wander as his body feels the cool pool sensations.
One day, when he was out on the beach with his family, he spotted what looked like a dolphin in distress and far out into the open waters.
Without thinking, he immediately swam towards the creature and brought her to the beach to have her wounds fixed.
He earned quite a bit of noteriety for that.
He’s the shortest member of his swim team and has been playfully teased for it.
During the summer, he often serves as a lifeguard assistant.
Chihiro Fujisaki as the SHSL Lucky Student
Their luck made it difficult for them to interact with others in social situations.
When their luck causes bad things to happen, it usually results in Chihiro being involved in a given accident making them come off as a bad omen.
When their luck causes good things to happen, they find themselves getting attention from the media and eager crowds.
Chihiro’s constantly changing luck is a prime factor for their timid and frailness.
They put alot of time in researching different forms of luck and rituals in an attempt to change their luck to their preferences.
They’ve picked up a variety of good luck charms and have a tendency of performing superstitious rituals whenever they’re about to do something.
Chihiro is also willing to give those charms to their friends (like Mondo when it comes to big games).
Touko Fukawa as the SHSL Programmer
Not wanting to be involved with her abusive family, Touko spent her whole time on the computer.
She familiarized herself with the complex workings of the computer and how to make her own programs.
Her specialty is being able to create anti-virus software that can detect and report potential hackers while maintaining a clean software system that can last for decades.
She hates it when people ask her if she can make video games as she believes them to be stupid and not worth her effort.
She enjoys venting her frustrations on message and forum boards by provoking others with her comments.
Syo still exists in this AU because of the abuse and managed to pick up on her original self’s programming skills.
Whenever Syo takes over, she manages to hack security programs and bank accounts as a means of taking revenge against unlucky kids who hurt her or her gloomy self.
She managed to frame them for crimes they didn’t commit, summoned gang members to tear down their homes, and have illegal commodities shipped to them.
Her username is Geno-Zdr50 and after her crimes were revealed, she was given the title of SHSL Hacker.
Celestia Ludenberg as the SHSL Author
She earned recognition for bringing back the gothic-romanticism genre.
Alot of her stories feature tales of romance and tragedy between elegant ladies and their supernatural/undead suitors.
Her wardrobe is similar to her original outfit only with a longer dress and she wears a black veil with red roses.
She claims to have been involved in multiple relationships with different men who provided her with an interesting romantic experience.
Celestia has a strong dislike for tropes and cliches and tries desperately to ensure that her stories avoid them.
The last thing she wants to be considered is a run of the mill author by some half-witted review articles.
Leon Kuwata as the SHSL Gambler
His main attire consists of a red collared shirt, black jeans and shades.
He doesn’t win every game because of his lazy attitude and his tendency to panic whenever things don’t go right for him.
Leon got the title by winning a few big competition games involving blackjack.
He prefers to use slot machines since they make it less hard for him to showcase his skills.
One of his tricks is by flirting with the waitresses or servers and convincing them to give them tips on what the dealers are like.
He often ropes Yasuhiro and Hifumi into joining him whenever he goes gambling believing that their eccentric personalities will boost his chances.
Mondo Oowada as the SHSL Baseball Player
He got into baseball because of his brother who was already a professional player.
Mondo’s has multiple baseball uniforms because of how often he tears or smears them.
He managed to convince some of his friends, who were close to becoming involved in gangs, to join him.
When he started playing, Mondo had a fierce temper and would pick fights against other unruly baseball players which would leave the two of them with bruises and black eyes.
Daiya decided to step in and offer his personalized training sessions to help Mondo before he ruined his career.
By channeling his frustrations into body improvement training and hitting the ball, Mondo was able to get a better control of his temper.
Although there have been cases where the baseballs he swings out of the stadiums end up causing massive damage in random streets.
Mukuro Ikusaba as the SHSL Gang Leader
Just like in canon, she ended up leaving her family to visit a country that was torn apart by war.
But rather than joining Fenrir, Mukuro ended up in the presence of orphans and street rats who lost their families to war.
She managed to convince them to join her in fighting back against the invading soldiers.
Using effective planning and improvised training, she was able to create her own army of resistance fighters who could take on any adult soldier.
They would be known as the Walking Corpses.
She instilled an anti-empathy principle onto her fighters so that they would feel no sorrow or despair for the loss of an ally.
Sakura Oogami as the SHSL Soldier
At an early age, she was recruited by the Japanese government to partake in a program designed to train soldiers.
She was scouted because of her family’s reputation as powerful fighters.
For years, she endured brutal training against a variety of fighters who were three times her age and with no heart in them.
She performed multiple reconnaissance missions which involved rescuing fellow soldiers from enemy territories while also taking down guerilla fighters.
While she won’t say it out loud, Sakura does have sympathy for the guerilla fighters and soldiers who are trying to protect their homeland.
Sakura prefers to use her body to fight, but she knows how to use different guns and weapons.
She actually faced Mukuro and her Corpses once. While her subordinates were easy to apprehend, the Lead Corpse was much more resilient and they ended up in a draw.
To this day, she has yet to take the life of an innocent.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru as the SHSL Fighter
Wanting to uphold the proud name of the Ishimaru Family, Kiyotaka devoted himself to learning martial arts.
While he has studied multiple forms of martial arts, his preferred combat forms are karate, judo and taekwondo.
He has a fanbase of girls who found him to be quite attractive thanks to his handsome physique and his cool profession.
He’s actually very flustered by their attention and tries desperately not to fraternize with dates as they would interfere with his training.
Kiyotaka is always shown wearing a white gi for a uniform and is often barefooted. He claims this is to build endurance.
Byakuya Togami as the SHSL Public Morals Officer
He runs a tight shift in ensuring that his academy’s rules and regulations are followed by every student.
Byakuya also made a secret group of student officers who would keep an eye on any rule breakers and would report their findings to him.
His punishments range from extra homework to having to clean the entire school during weekends or fun holidays.
He decided to expand his power by influencing different academies using his moral code and conduct.
He’s also openly criticized multiple schools that were lackluster when it came to discipline and how they organized their education system.
With his influence as a Togami, a majority of elite academies in Japan incorporate his strict moral code.
Junko Enoshima as the SHSL Heir
She was born to a wealthy family that specialized in marketing.
At an early age, Junko learned the basics of managing businesses and how to treat employees under her thumb
Her upbringing upheld morals that encouraged her to be as ruthless and tactile when dealing with enemy companies or unruly subjects
She enjoys manipulating stocks and employees as a means of brutally taking down business rivals
Junko also has connections to underground agents that can bring her dirt about her competitors while also assigning them to sabotage their own enterprises.
Kyoko Kirigiri as the SHSL Fashion Model
She undergoes extensive workouts and health routines to maintain a physically fit and beautiful appearance.
Her main styles are based on classic punk while incorporating different concepts of violet.
Sometimes she gives pointers and tips to her model colleagues before a big event but she’ll still be cold and serious when it’s time to perform or showcase her works.
She’s always wearing gloves and there are tons of rumors as to what she’s hiding under her hands.
Kyoko knows how to speak French and English since she often travels to France and the US for modeling events.
Her father is a fashion designer but she stopped modeling his works due to creative differences.
In her free time, she likes to sketch different designs. Yasuhiro has even asked her for help with creating new characters.
Hifumi Yamada as the SHSL Detective
He wears a classic trench coat and a fiddler hat
He cites Detective Conan as his main inspiration for his career and how to approach his cases
When interrogating potential suspects, he often uses bizarre or outlandish questions in order to make them lose their defenses.
Alot of his cases involve finding lost children or recovering stolen money and valuables
Despite taking on many cases, he has yet to be involved with anything murder related.
He secretly wishes for a detective rival so the cases can be more exciting and that he can be pushed to be a greater detective.
Yasuhiro Hagakure as the SHSL Doujinshi Author
He grew up loving shonen anime with fantasy settings like Inuyasha or YuYu Hakusho.
His mom helped him in perfecting his writing and drawing skills and later with helping distribute his works.
Yasuhiro didn’t flunk like in canon, but his grades were pretty low since most of his time was spent daydreaming about potential storylines followed by him drawing them out.
The kids at his school were very impressed with his drawings, especially since they were based on their favorite shows.
He became very popular throughout his middle and high school years.
Despite his fandom, there were very few people whom he could call friends since most of them didn’t love the different layers and symbolism of the anime shows the same way he did.
Sometimes when inspired, he’ll pull out drawing supplies and paper from his dreadlocks.
Yasuhiro dreams of making his own anime/manga featuring a (totally not a self insert) protagonist who goes on ghost hunting adventures alongside his magic pet chicken.
Sayaka Maizono as the SHSL Fortune Teller
She dresses up as a carnival themed fortune teller.
Her stage name is the “Fairy of the Moon”.
She prefers to predict happy and positive things in order to build a good reputation among the public.
When something bad is about to happen, like a fight or an accident, she notices things in extra detail that hint towards the upcoming event. (Like in the Final Destination series)
Sayaka has made several TV appearances where she would make open predictions about a fellow celebrity.
Having been acquainted with Aoi during her appearances, Sayaka often gives warnings to the idol about potential attackers.
Aoi Asahina as the SHSL Idol
While she’s a great singer, she has a hard time with writing her own songs. So she lets her group write them.
Her preferred songs contain messages of friendship and how bonds are important between people.
Aoi pulls off incredible dance movements throughout her performances that many idols have a hard time pulling off.
She has a close friendship with her idol group and considers them as her second family.
Aoi has also sparked controversy for openly supporting idols who defy the harmful expectations of their managers/corporate groups with their choices.
Her opinions on the matter have earned her an equal amount of fans and enemies.
She has a harder time eating her precious donuts since her manager frequently discourages her from eating unnecessary sweets.

I was tagged by @abstrakt-intangible. Meme time, wahoo!
Questions to get to know you a little better:
1. What do you prefer to be called name wise? I'm good with Jean, or milliways online, or whatever. Will answer to “hey you,” but only if it’s clear in context that it’s being directed at me,
2. When is your birthday? May 14th.
3. Where do you live? Wine country, California.
4. Three things I am doing right now? “Working”, drinking tea, and shaking my head to feel my SHORT HAIR because last night I got my first haircut in 9 months and am at least a foot’s worth of hair lighter.
5. Four fandoms that have piqued my interest: Like, in general? Metalocalypse, Good Omens, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead. But if you mean new ones that I’m not actually into but look interesting? The Old Guard, Venom (I weep for the fact that I still have not yet had a chance to watch this movie), Pacific Rim, and What We Do In The Shadows.
6. How has the pandemic been treating you? It’s been alright, I guess. I’m lucky to be able to work completely from home. My husband and his OCD were less lucky, but he’s quit now so both have stopped getting yanked around quite so much, and it’s starting to get a little easier to find sanitizing wipes again which is great and a necessary staple in this house regardless of pandemic. Writing a lot recently has definitely helped keep me grounded in relative sanity, and no one I know is sick... There’s a new Stay Home order that now does affect my county as well as my parents’ but they’re still fussing about how I should come for Christmas anyway and telling my brother that we’re undecided (we are not) while also pressuring him to make the 10 hour drive over from Nevada... which we could both do without, but hey, that’s parents for you: people whats drives you crazy and/or try to make you open presents outside on the patio in December so your grandparents can (reluctantly) participate. 🙃🙃🙃
7. Song(s) I can’t stop listening to: Lately it’s been Honeybee by The Head & The Heart, but Waterman by Matt Maeson also keeps getting stuck in my head a lot.
8. Recommend a movie: Happiest Season.
9. How old are you? I am 32 and a half.
10. School, university, occupation? Studied creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College, currently doing online order support, social media marketing, and website stuff for a winery.
11. Do you prefer heat or cold? I prefer being warm to being cold, because my fingers get stiff. But, thanks to the 100+F heat streak we had this summer, I also know that I prefer being cold to being TOO HOT. Fuck not having AC.
12. Name one fact others may not know about you? I have a step goal of 8k steps a day, and my mom has a step goal of 10k steps a day, but I consistently hit my goal and usually beat her in the weekly Fitbit stats. Yes, we are a weirdly competitive family about stupid stuff. lol
13. Are you shy? Oh hell yeah. In person, for sure. A little bit less so online and/or when I get going on something I really enjoy.
14. Preferred pronouns: She/Her
15. Biggest pet peeves: Consecutive sentences and/or paragraphs starting with the same word/phrase, unless it’s an intentional stylistic choice.
16. What is your favorite “dere” type? Tsundere, I guess.
17. Rate your life 1-10? Uh... I dunno... an 8? Is that right? Did I answer it right?
18. What is your main blog? This one.
19. List all your side blog and what they’re for: I have an original writing blog that I use... not at all, basically. And some old RP accounts, but those aren’t tied to this one.
20. Is there anything people should know before becoming friends with you? Expect occasional stupid and/or dirty jokes and puns. And, at the moment, lots of nerding out over Metalocalypse.
I don’t feel like tagging but if you see this and just want to just do it anyways DO IT and tag me so I can see, that’d be cool. 😃

For the week of 11 December 2017
Quick Bits:
Amazing Spider-Man #792 continues the “Venom Inc.” crossover and it’s just as much fun as the Alpha issue. Ryan Stegman also provides art for this issue and he proves once again why he’s one of the best at Marvel, particularly when it comes to illustrating Spider-Man. The interplay between Flash, now as Anti-Venom, and Peter is an interesting dynamic, especially with how far Flash has come since high school, and it’s well-explored here.

Animosity #11 gets into some of the divisions that have occurred following the Wake, some of the different groupings and reactions to animals other than humans gaining a spoken voice, and illustrates what animals will find acceptable in propagating their own survival. In this case the subjugation of bees, because they can’t be heard, because they’re little.

The Archies #3 throws some more kindling on the fire for the troubles of the band, both figuratively and literally.

Astonisher #3 is interesting in that just as it looks like Magnus is finally getting the hang of the superheroics, dedicating himself to something more than just his own self-interest, a huge monkey wrench is thrown in his way. Other than just the red worm infecting those affected by the meteorite, there seems to be another insidiousness in the title. Alex de Campi is doing some great work here, both with plot and character.

Black Panther: Long Live the King #1 is a digital first comic from Nnedi Okorafor and André Lima Araújo and it’s wonderful. Okorafor sets up an interesting mystery amidst what could be a natural disaster, could be something more, as Wakanda’s capital is struck by an earthquake. T’Challa sees a Lovecraftian monstrosity during the quake, but he seems to be the only one, leading others to question his leadership. Aided by Chris O’Halloran’s colours, Araújo’s artwork is just the icing on top.

Bloodshot Salvation #4 is a flashback issue spotlighting the trouble childhood of Project Omen’s director, the Scarred Man, and his brother, the man who will become Rampage. This issue is wholly illustrated by Mico Suayan, with Diego Rodriguez, and it’s as beautiful as the story itself is troubling.

Brilliant Trash #2 takes us a bit deeper into the world of genetically modified superbeings, mixed a bit with social media and political activism, but not too far. We get glimpses of both sides in this battle, introducing us to more of the players, but we’re still left wondering what’s actually going on.

Coyotes #2 delivers on the promise of the first issue, following it up with more compelling storytelling, delving deeper into the mythology of the coyotes, where they’re likely coming from, the Victorias, and Red’s family. Sean Lewis and Caitlin Yarsky have something amazing here, with some strong world-building, fascinating characters, and stunning artwork.

The Damned #6 begins a new old story-arc, reprinting the Prodigal Sons arc from the second mini-series, now with colours by Bill Crabtree. I think it’s still worth it for the colour if you’ve already read the originals.

Giants #1 is a fairly impressive debut from Carlos and Miguel Valderrama. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where kaiju rule the surface of the Earth and humans have taken to the underground, forming gangs to survive. Gogi and Zedo are two kids trying to join the Bloodwolves, serving as our entrance point to this world and giving the book a bit of heart.

Grass Kings #10 switches to Maria’s perspective this time as she and Shelly discuss what’s been going on in the investigation into Jen Handel’s death, deciding that it’s time to confront Archie in what he knows. Once again, I’m highly impressed by how Matt Kindt is telling this story, as a mix of Robert Altman and Geoffrey Chaucer, using an ensemble mosaic to propel the narrative.

Harrow County #28 features Emmy versus Kammi for all the marbles, with an ending that you don’t necessarily see coming, which is going to leave you questioning what Cullen Bunn has just done to us.

Judas #1 is one of the most beautiful looking books this month thanks to the stunning artwork by Jakub Rebelka. His art was one of the highlights of Namesake and now he’s elevating this series. I particularly like the black halo following Judas’ death, it’s just a little touch that adds a lot. The story itself by Jeff Loveness is also interesting, giving a kind of bleak, existential crisis from the point of view of Judas Iscariot, trying to figure out his afterlife and how he fit into the story of Jesus’ death.

Jughead: The Hunger #2 nicely expands upon the factions, adding new players and family members to broaden the story, just as Jughead is recognized by a store clerk, drawing down upon himself the police. Frank Tieri’s setting up the pieces for what should be an interesting confrontation between the Coopers and Jughead.

Kid Lobotomy #3 starts getting to the root of Kid’s metamorphosis and Kafka obsession, while unearthing some of the skeletons of Big Daddy and the Suites’ closets. All through Peter Milligan’s nutty story, Tess Fowler’s art brings it to life wonderfully.

Maestros #3 gives Will and the world a giant pile of crap as Rygol and Mardok join forces to destroy his capital and kill his people. Just when we thought Steve Skroce’s mad fantasy story couldn’t get stranger, it does.

Monstro Mechanica #1 is off to a good start. The premise of Leonardo building a robot is interesting, as is his assistant, Isabel, allowing it to learn and grow despite Leonardo’s instructions otherwise, but it’s the political intrigue that’s really going to hook you. Along with the art, Chris Evenhuis has a clean, smooth style that really suits the subject matter.

Port of Earth #2 gets into the implications that the corporations signed the deal with the aliens and sold out the Earth on the basis of sheer greed. It’s not far-fetched, given the current political climate, but there’s also a hint that the port was going to happen anyway, the deal being the only thing that kept humans alive. The bulk of this issue, though, deals with our POV ESA security agents continuing to chase down the rogue alien “visitor”. From it, it appears that there’s a broader scheme hatching.

Rumble #1 is something I’ve been looking forward to since John Arcudi announced that James Harren was leaving the title and David Rubín was taking over. I absolutely loved the team of Arcudi and Harren, and they really made the first volume of Rumble something unique, but Rubín is probably my favourite new-ish artist to begin working in the North American market in recent years. His art and style is just stunning and fresh, making every character and scene he illustrates something interesting. And he does not disappoint in this first issue.
Arcudi’s humour and quirks, the monstrous and odd characters, the setting, all perfectly mesh with Rubín‘s artwork creating something special. There is a recap of sorts for new readers, albeit biased, so you need not have read the first volume. I still recommend reading it though.

Runaways #4 is actually a nice moment of respite for the reunited youngsters, as they get introduced to Molly’s grandmother and actually get to relax and be safe for an afternoon. I suspect that the revelation of what Molly’s grandmother has been up to, what they’ve been hinting at since the first issue, is going to be nefarious, but still...somewhat happy issue. Plus, Kris Anka draws some of the best cats.

Star Wars #40 shows some cracks appearing in the alliance between the Rebels and the remnants of Saw Gerrera’s extremists on Jedha, as Benthic takes a particularly lethal approach to defending what remains of the planet. The artwork this issue, from Salvador Larroca with colours by Guru e-FX, is very impressive.

School Magazine Evaluation
Q 1: How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? Ans:  After a very thorogh analysis of the school magazines of previous students, schools and many different media I noted the common things that looked good and basically got attention of other people after all a magazine is used for commercial purposes so I thought how to make my magazine attractive? How can my magazine attract more viewers? Firstly the person featured in my school magazine makes direct contact. Due to this feature many of the people are intrigued, for it simply looks like that the magazine is trying to make contact. Another important thing was the colors that I used I tried to make them as attracting as they can be I also tried to color my headers with a simple conclusion that they looked great. The thing I tried to copy was the positions of how the data was commisioned on the magazines. One of the finishing touches that I added on both of my magazines was the QR code. through this code my magazine looked as it was made by a company that was very elegant in its work. This touch transformed my work from an ammateurs work to a professionals. Q 2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? Ans. The only thing I would want for my magazine is to be read and be appreciated and fortunately enough I am a student. Now I needed to make things work in my favour so I thaught if I was a student going to read a magazine what would I be attracted to school? Firstly the school uniform, uniforms of any kind were basically made so that there should be no discrimination in the system. This is a point that tackles Audiences if distributed as a  real media text. Another thing is the direct contact of the model for the magazine it clearly grabs attention as it looks like that the real person is looking at you. And another thing that would surely attract students is some of the text on the magazine, cover and contents both pages. Firstly # (hast tag as it explains how something is trending) School Lyf. Insted of life I used Lyf only for a silly reason that it looks cool and as a person who has lived as a student something that is deemed cool will always have a bigger market. House results are in was my second set of words, why because it clearly is something that I would look into if I was a student. A level Violinist and a chance of free tickets was used in the contents page to lure the students into reading it. Study is what we have to go through in school all the time if we get a chance for recreational activities like a violin sonata or cinematic clicks for fun than thats awesome. And if this magazine is to be ditributed as a real media one of its key features would be other schools since not many schools have a weekly magazine, not that I know of. So my magazine would be a big hit and would be distribited to other schools as a real media because of the competition that schools have and this type of work will surely motivate other students to do something like this. These are the points by which my product engages with audiences and would be distributed as a real media.
Q 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
Ans: This was a very difficult task to produce a magazine out of my own expertise. If I look at my past self I can clearly see me torn with anxiety and how my teacher explained that this is a preliminary tast and just putting your best effort will be fine. To produce a magazine like this I firstly needed a good photo. I am not a photogenic person nor I am skilled in takin a perfect shot. The most difficult part of this is the brightness. After some time a good shot came up as the deadline was nearing. Due to this feat now I can easily set the manual brightness of a camera and get a good shot whether candid or not. As featured in my magazine contents page Two shots are candid and one is not. One another thing that maximized my production skills was the editing of the magazine. InDesign is a software I have never worked in before. To being able to even rotate the picture was a big feat for me in the past. But due to the constant hit and trial I learned many of its tools that I used. due to this I basically edited my way that the picture that I clicked had no empty space before the head . It was a very spreaded out picture which was not soothing for a magazine. And now due to this I can manage and edit freely on the InDesign.
Q 4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project? Ans: Without these things the project would be an old scrap of paper. The media that we have studied so far relies heavily on the technologies. Firstly my the main pics for the magazine. I am very bad at drawing and I go into a state of disgust if I imagine myself drawing the magazine cover by hand I would surealy be graded as a U. Not only grading if it was to be a real media I will get alot of bad reviews. Secondly if I did'nt have access to the internet my work would have not be analyzed. My reseach would have been at a very slow pace. Imagine rather than searching for some seconds at the Google by the hand of a blessing the Internet, one would have to search manually and manually anything has a chance of failure luckily I was born in an era that heavily uses such mediums. The laptop that I used was such a big help, it is a HP Omen 17, Its basically is a ultra fast monster laptop that does everything in mere seconds. I have seen my friends working on softwares that lag. Due to this a person gets a bad mood swing and rushes with work. Firstly my internet helped me to research, analyze and pre produce my magazine. The internet also aided me with the hundreds to tutorials by which I can now easily operate the InDesign software by which I edited all my work. As a hardware I need to mention a good Avalon printer that the school has to offer us. A very good resolution with a paper selection choice along with an easy to use pallet. Due to the online facility and mediums of communication, the communication with my team partners and my Sir became very easy because of whats app and due to this I was sharing my data and getting a second opinion that really helped as an end product.
