It’s bizarre to me that some people can’t picture an image or hear a voice in their heads because I can’t read fanfiction if I cannot hear The Character say that. If I can’t vividly picture The Character and hear their exact voice in my head saying The Thing then what’s the point even

Honestly I’m just gonna feed my dog actual food. That way I know what he’s eating and that it’s all a balanced diet. Dental care would be twice as important but I feel like that would be the healthiest way to go with plenty of research.

Please don’t just toss your dog a plate of chicken thighs. You are MUCH safer feeding them a good dry or wet dog food (or a mixture!). Don’t. Just don’t. It’s so much easier to miss important nutritional needs when making your own food, and you absolutely NEED frequent contact with a vet to ensure you’re giving the animal what’s most important.

what studying literature feels like

guys i actually beg of you to not let palestine become an unpleasant flashback, a transient tumblr trend, a hasbeen subject that just faded away. as an arab—and specifically iraqi—girl, i know what it feels like to have family displaced all over the world as a result of western imperialism. i know what it feels like to not be able to step foot into your homeland because it’s no longer safe. as an american iraqi, raised in the us and insulated from my roots, it wasn’t until last summer that i was able to visit iraq for the first time, and even then my family was worried for my safety—in my own blood country. although nothing like what palestinians are experiencing right now, it might be the tiniest semblance of what it feels like to watch your country disintegrate in front of you.

and this is a universal arab experience. i volunteer weekly at a refugee center that serves middle eastern refugees, and every day i see the longing in their eyes when they speak of where they hail from. it’s safe to say that we will be getting a wave of palestinian refugees very soon: just another generation of arabs who can’t inhabit their own country.

arab culture is so rich, so profound, so beautiful. i am tired of being told by the world—through literal genocide—that it doesn’t mean anything. please never let this be forgotten. free palestine. free palestine. free palestine.

It has been hard for me to talk about how what is going on with Israel and Palestine is affecting me personally, but I grew up in Gaza and most of my family still lives there. My father did not survive the bombings last week and I have not been able to contact my younger sister in days. I am try to being understanding that most people do not have personal connections to what is happening and therefore are justifying their silence, but is heartbreaking to see this misinformation being spread. What’s happening there is a genocide, not a war. It is not antisemitic to support Palestine, it’s not even antiemetic to criticise Israel. There is no grey area or neutrality regarding this, and it is so easy to find resources that will educate you on the subject. It is my people and my home being destroyed so I will never be silent about this, but I please urge everyone to get informed and start speaking up and finding ways they can help.
