I had eaten at Moe’s at the Fox lot in the morning and I wasn’t really hungry until have way through the shooting the carpet for the Premiere Of FX's "Impeachment: American Crime Story”. So by the time I got to downtown I was ready for a meal. I wanted something quick and as good a quality food as possible with a fast turnaround time. I had editing to do and I couldn’t spend all night eating. I thought ramen is fast and I hadn’t had noodles in a while when I saw the Silverlake Ramen signage. I saw the pizza place next door but I couldn’t bring myself to get pizza of unknown quality. So ramen it was! I tend to favor Phó over ramen and Thai noodles can be awesome too. I started it off with the Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll (Shrimp tempura, kani (imitation crab), avocado, cucumber, and rice wrapped in nori drizzled with eel sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds.) Then I added the The Blaze Ramen (Spicy creamy pork broth, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, seaweed, and seasoned egg. Choice of Pork, Chicken, or Tofu.) She asked how hot and said hot, hot, hot! There was a delicious Sapporo Beer to add to my food journey. TheShrimp Tempura Hand Roll was really good. The Blaze was good. I was surprised to see spinach but I didn’t read all the details when I ordered because I was in a hurry. The spinach worked. The chicken was tasty. When the waitress dropped off The Blaze she had a chuckle. I’m pretty sure she thought it would be too hot. But it wasn’t. I swirled the chili paste around in the ramen real good and ate it all up. Spaghetti Squash with Parsley Pestoand Shrimp

This is a light and hearty squash dish that you don’t have to feel guilty about.It is made with shrimp, making it perfect for those shrimp lovers out there.Yield: 3 to 4 servingsPreparation Time: 1 hour and 10 minutesIngredient List:1, 4 pound of spaghetti squash1 to 2 Tablespoons of extra virgin olive oilDash of salt and black pepperIngredients for the pesto sauce:½ cup of basil leaves, chopped½ cup of parsley leaves, chopped2 cloves of garlic, minced1/3 cup of pine nuts
¼ teaspoons of salt½ cup of extra virgin olive oilIngredients for the shrimp:1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined2 Tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil3 cloves of garlic, mincedIngredients for the serving:Pine nuts, choppedLemon wedgesGrated parmesan cheese
Instructions:1. Prepare the squash. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.2. Chop the ends off of the spaghetti squash and slice in half lengthwise.Scoop out the seeds and brush the insides of the squash with olive oil. Seasonwith a dash of salt and black pepper.3. Place the squash with the cut side facing down onto a baking sheet. Placeinto the oven to bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until soft. Remove and set aside tocool completely. Scrape the flesh until spaghetti tendrils form. Transfer thetendrils into a bowl and set aside.4. Prepare the sauce. In a food processor, add in all of the ingredients for thesauce. Blend on the highest setting until smooth in consistency.5. Prepare the shrimp. In a skillet set over medium heat, add in 1 tablespoonof olive oil. Add in the shrimp and garlic. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until theshrimp begins to turn pink. Flip and continue to cook for an additional 1 to 2minutes or until the shrimp is cooked through.6. Lower the heat to low. Add in the spaghetti squash and pesto sauce. Stirwell to mix. Cook for 3 minutes or until hot. Remove from heat.7. Serve with a topping of pine nuts, lemon wedges and grated parmesancheese over the top.

Kiwi & Shrimp Risotto

This seafood risotto recipe has fruity taste from the kiwi and lemon.Yield: 6Preparation Time: 1 hr. Ingredient List:1 pound (450 g) large-sized shrimps4 cups (1 L) water, divided2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil1 medium (110 g) onion, chopped2 (3 g) cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ cups (280 g) Arborio rice½ cup (125 ml) dry white wine1 cup (250 g) half and half cream2 (85 g) kiwi, diced2 tablespoons (30 ml) lemon juice1 teaspoon (3.5 g) lemon zest, finely grated½ teaspoons (1 g) dried thymesalt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:1. Bring 4 cup of water to a boil in a stockpot over medium heat. Add theshrimps and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Transfer shrimps ona plate and reserve broth.2. Peel and devein the shrimps. Set aside.3. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, stir-fry onion and garlic in oil overmedium heat until fragrant.4. Add the rice and stir until well coated with oil; cook for 2 minutes. 5. Add the wine; cook, stirring until absorbed. 6. Add the reserved broth one ladleful at a time, stirring often. Cook rice forabout 20-25 minutes or until al dente. Adding shrimps, cream, kiwi, lemonjuice, zest, and thyme towards the last 5-7 minutes of cooking time.Remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.7. Transfer into a serving dish. Garnish with some slices of kiwi or lemon,if desired.8. Serve immediately and enjoy.
