i lost my job last month because my manager wouldn’t accommodate my disability anymore , and i have a long list of things that i need help paying for , including insulin and medication , appointment copays , groceries , gas , and car insurance . my dog recently had a severe allergic reaction and i had to take her to the vet , which drained absolutely everything out of my account . i don't even have enough money to eat at the moment .

Can u give me some examples of chuuya and Dazai like, helping make each other better?

Glad you asked this question, anon!

Some examples include the scene in fifteen where Dazai goes from the beginning of fifteen, being all apathetic and not cryng about life. Mori trying hard to motivate him, to suddenly wanting live after meeting chuuya. Quite literally saying: "chuuya convinced me to live" and along with here, saying that he's got a new dog so he has to live now.

The gun shooting scene also served helpful for Dazai, he was spiraling and Chuuya, a gangster knocked the gun out of his hand saying "you shouldn't be shooting dead bodies". For a member of a gang to say this, it served as very contridcting to dazai but revealed more about chuuya's character and how what he did was (shooting the dead body) was wrong.

Another example includes in stormbringer, when chuuya is hallicunating dazai and the flags when he's tortured. The hallucination of dazai motivates him to not give up (bc he claims he isn't like him) and pushes him through the experience.

From Dazai's side in stormbringer, his capability to change that has always been there prior to oda is shown when he gives Chuuya a choice. This is a big deal which I see the fandom ignore a lot, but Dazai at this point struggled immensely with empathy, so for him to put himself in Chuuya's shows and give him a choice with the entire city was at risk showed how much he cared about chuuya's feelings, thinking about his humanity before the entire city.

Another instance includes the scene in which Mori says that he would die with Chuuya with the Guivre situation in stormbringer. Dazai goes from being okay with dying/apathetic about the situation to suddenly caring with the idea of dying with Chuuya is brought up. Chuuya constantly is seen to motivate and push Dazai to do things in the mafia at the time.

The Dragon Head Conflict in Dead Apple is a major example. Chuuya once again pushes him to get involved in major conflicts, Dazai is louching around not wanting to get involved until Chuuya says something to him about the situation.

Dazai is acting inhumane by disrespecting someone who died and in anger chuuya punches his face. dazai says "i'm human too" and chuuya says "no one would believe that shit" people misinterpet this scene badly as dehumanization but it's not. it's basically Chuuya giving Dazai a reality check and telling him to stop acting inhumane since he knows he is a human and is capable of acting humane. Stormbringer shows this, he sees dazai giving him a choice, him acting human. So since this is after that, it's basically him telling him no one will believe you're human if you act like this, so start acting like you're a human. Because of Chuuya's words, it motivates him to stop a turf war because of how mad he is.

In mayoi this is seen, with him telling Shibusawa how he was wrong for killing the colonel.

This exchange also shows the extent of their partnership, how despite the words Chuuya says to Dazai prior, he just knows him; by the mention of the microscope earlier he's able to decipher the intention of dazai. Their reading of each other can be shown to be "making each other better" as their trust in e/o as kids raised an abusive enviorment is definetaly interesting.

Chuuya is actively seen steering him to be motivated him who once lacked a clear meaning of life itself was.

not to bring up mass effect but that’s one of the most interesting things it ever posited when it came to the idea of organic vs artificial intelligence. a machine, if sentient, knows who created it and why it was created. and a person will never know that. like, even lacking spirituality, even if you ascribe all this to random cause-and-effect, that doesn’t actually get you any closer to understanding why there is a you. but a robot can look their creator in the eye, can read out the whole of its purpose, and know that no matter what it modifies, this is what it was made to be. and what if it was made limited, or flawed, or shackled. there are elements of that a person can relate to, maybe understand, but not all of it, not enough to fathom how different the experience of the world is when you have no questions about your origins.

#also not to talk about mass effect but this is whyyy i love the geth so much. it feels like this would be something you could easily take #in a cold and logical direction because of this whole. lack of questions.#but the geth are so brimming with this sort of. faith. you know? its written into every way they’re referred to. they call the reapers the #old gods. older. we must assume. referring not just to them but to the quarians.#they call splinters of their hivemind that disagree ‘heretics’. legion accepts that name specifically because of its implications.#for a whole game the geth are mindless enemies and then suddenly they’re a *people*. and legion takes the name of a biblical demon.#we’re getting off topic here but its mass effect let me ramble. when it comes to the unfinished fics that haven't been updated in 3 years and had an authors note that said the next chapter was ready and would be out in a week and the author has no other social media that i can find (not naming names but i have like 3 fav fics like this), yes, I'd take the mediocre continuation half bc i wanna know the author is safe and half bc i have reread the entirety of the fic several times and i need to see where it goes as long as it makes sense.

oh i get that. it's always scary when there's no way to check in with the author too.

since my DC binge, i went back to ff.net just to scope around and see if i could find my old favs. luckily i managed to find some of them crossposted to AO3 and follow the authors' new works there, but it was hard going back in time and seeing so many authors i adored who were just... gone. one of my favorite authors, someone who honestly contributed a lot to my writing style regarding mystery and slow-burn thriller, had passed away.

obviously we never met and im not even sure i left comments on their stuff (i was pretty shy about it) but i raved about their stuff for weeks. i still remember it being the highlights of my month years ago. parasocial relationships yes yes yes, but seriously. the joy i get from getting emails after years, or seeing someone move their account and getting to see them interact again... it's not unnoticed!

(also yes, rereading the whole fic after an update is soooooo mecore i love it when i do that and then get re-obsessed all over again. its amazing.)

Hey!! I just fell down a TMNT rabbit hole that led to mentions of your “President Dad” AU, but I couldn’t find it anywhere to read. Do you still have it posted anywhere?

HOLY CRAP TMNT MENTION /POS

Okay I’m so sorry to break your heart but unfortunately President Dad AU never really took off besides a couple of art pieces here and there. I did write like one or two little one-shots of scenes I was planning along with a vague outline of a fic, but never posted them bc I never really saw President dad getting anywhere (which is very unfortunate bc I really loved president dad au, I’ve never made an au before so I was very proud of that one) also because I really really lack creativity to make anything out of it.

A wonderfully creative and talented person @violetvulpini made a LOT of art for my AU if they still have it up. They inspired me a lot, we did a lot of brainstorming and back-and-forth to come up with ideas, so a lot of my stuff was built off of our discussions as well as others in the server. In fact, they made a president dad au compliant fic on AO3 that I highly highly recommend you read (read the whole series actually just read all their stuff)! It was always more their AU then mine and its nice knowing that Aden was able to turn my half-baked ideas into something more. (it’s been a while, I’ve lost contact with a lot of friends from the tmnt fandom. It makes me a little sad and I feel guilty reaching out after so long, I think the fear of being forgotten makes me scared to say anything so I’ll be okay with where I am as long as they remember me for who I was ykno? Anyways, rambling)

Crap so! Anyways! Please check out Aden’s works and I could sift through what I have, along with old brainstorming ideas, and maybe post them if you and others are interested :))!! I had no idea my AU was still,, I guess, thought about? I feel so melancholy for the tmnt fandom it was such a good home to me and I was not good during my time in it and I wish one day I can get back into the fandom and reunite with the people I care about.
