#k so i started watching the shera show just to see if catradora is as bad as people say it is#(because seeing that people hate a ship makes me 200% more invested fyi)#and like. i do Not see it girlies#i do think the show is as shallow as they come and maybe the whole catradora backstory is too much for it#currently on ep 4? 5? of s2 and i'm pretty comfy with the fact that catradora will be endgame#because their dynamic is easily the most interesting one in the show#although crab lady (what was her name....) and catra scratch an itch of mine too#mainly bc i am really into one sided pining#and i like that (oh it's scorpia i remembered) scorpia is the easy option for catra#someone who idealizes her and is already invested in the idea of getting together with her#and catra having this realization of the nature of scorpia's feelings in that episode (4? 5?) like UGH that's some good shit right there#but what stood up to me about the show was how uhhhh like there's so much ship bait everywhere#not in a malicious way. just in the way that there's ship teases for a lot of pairings in the show#like glimmer and adora and bow with uhh everyone (disaster bisexual characters my beloved)#like it just feels very queer positive and casual. i really like that#but yeah. so far i'm not head over heels with catradora but i definitely think it has a lot of potentiak#and the fact that they are the endgame couple is pleasing to me#like IMAGINE identifying the couple with the most potential and making it canon. some other shows could've learned that lesson#oh well! (lumity why are you so fucking boring it pains me)

Hi guys, this is sort of my official "please, for the love of god, listen to Skyjacks with me” post because I’m losing my mind and all the content I can find is from the latest stuff right now, and I don’t want to spoil myself. I want to be able to talk about this with people!!!! I will make a watch (listen) party discord if there is enough interest. Just give it a chance; you won’t regret it. Also, some information may be wrong or outdated. I’m on episode 11 out of over 200.
Skyjacks is a ttrpg podcast about sky pirates in a world where there was a catastrophe about 200 years ago that left the sea unsafe to sail and maybe even damaged the entire world to the point where civilization is scattered and in small groups. There is very casual queer rep, and it’s casual to the point where it really just fits into the world perfectly.
A brief summary of the premise of the first episode will hopefully get you hooked. I’m really bad at summaries, but I promise it’s a billion times better than how I talked about it here:
Captain Orimar Vale is dead, and a mutiny will be on Gable, Jonnit, Travis, and Dref’s hands if they are unable to keep up the ruse of him being alive. To do this, necromancy (deeply forbidden magic) is performed by the Dref, the ship's doctor, to turn him into a semi-functional zombie. Captain Orimar is famous for his abilities as a captain; to replicate this will take great skill.
As they run out of supplies, they make a desperate decision: port on the land of one of Orimar’s scorned lovers or deal with the growing uneasiness of the rest of the crew. They haven’t seen their captain healthy in months, and whispers about his health are starting. However, greater danger will await them when they take to the skies again, lurking just beyond the clouds…
And more propaganda as to why I think you guys will like it:
There are unique and interesting gameplay mechanics they use to tell a really cool story, and if you like Hermitcraft or any other sorta storytelling-based SMP, I promise you’ll like it. Like. If you liked Boatem from Hermitcraft 8, you’ll love the characters in Skyjacks. The players are exceptionally good at playing their characters, their humour is unmatched by anything similar I’ve had the pleasure of seeing, and the story is prioritized, which I think is an amazing choice.
Best part? It’s still ongoing after, like, 5 years. Some people have left, but a good chunk of the OG cast has stayed. Not that leaving is bad, because holy crap, 5 years is a long time, and stories have to end at some point! It’s a good way of getting into something and knowing there is still a shit ton of content to be explored.
The music is good. The story is good. The characters and humour are amazing. The lore of the world is sprinkled throughout, and as you learn more about the world, the more excited you get. It’s incredible so far, and if you decide to listen to it, I will actually love you forever and ever. My boyfriend is on episode 190, and he finds it so funny every time I go. Oh my god, this is so cool.
Link to the podcast, but in a playlist (up to 180). So it’s in order and easy to find, since it’s a part of something else from the oneshot network:

which is worse: d20 tumblr or d20 twitter?
this is such a funny question. frankly I prefer talking with my existing friends over discord over either of them but here's a breakdown of my experience with them
d20 tumblr
feels like a more isolating experience because of the way tumblr is set up in general as a platform. I follow relatively few people here, so all my interactions are from people engaging with my art (love you mwah) or asking me questions. nearly every time I go into a d20 related tag I regret it
I think frankly I disagree with 90% of the opinions on d20 here but because I don't have to see it I can just post my art and go
feels relatively static like there's not a good way to get everyone talking about a specific transformative fandom thing instead of only what's happening in canon because it's a looser more disconnected community
allows for longer posts and the search system on my own blog is great though. I love directing people to go through my tags or archived art
d20 twitter
incredibly, astonishingly, bad at recognizing jokes for people who are fans of a comedy show
way easier to interact with people which means most of the friends I make are from d20twt...
very easy to get everyone talking about one specific thing (ie fhsonas) because of how interactive Twitter is as a platform and how quickly word spreads
downside of this^ is that every time I express an opinion someone disagrees with they tend to assume that this is a majority opinion rather than like, 3-4 popular gay asian artists speaking their mind? when I complained about fhjy 18 battle on here I got interesting and thoughtful reblogs and everyone kept it respectful meanwhile on twitter people started making vaguetweets about how people who hated the episode were morons. stuff like us joking that oisin's grandma's whole mahjong group got murked getting 200 likes VS people directly shitting on us getting 1.7k likes and people going "wait... people are mad about oisins grandma for REAL?! she was going to kill people !!" getting 2k likes. clearly there is some sort of strange authority people put on your words whether or not you're actually just trying to have fun with your friends
I did talk about this more on twitter but I am not a fan of the CRitterfication of d20twt either. feels like much of the fandom is now watching because they're megafans of the cast rather than for the story which leads to some really big toxic positivity bias and the implication that criticism of the show == direct attack on the crew and therefore on THEM because parasocial attachment. I don't think it helps that for a majority of them d20 is their first big fandom experience aside from like... kpop or tswift because they have not developed a lot of the detachment from canon + not being parasocial + ignoring opinions you don't like if they're not directly addressed at you mechanisms that people who've been around have. sorry I'm not trying to fandom elder or whatever here I'm 21 years old but I think it's incredibly hard for me to interact with people whose entire understanding of canon depend on siobhan thompson's opinions like this
tldr;
d20twt has way less reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. better for making friends. I interact almost entirely with 30-40 of my artist friends. (my) d20tumblr experience is more chill and feels like I'm doing a seminar and people come up to ask me questions afterward. more isolating but easier to do my own thing. I do recognize and am fond of a lot of you but I've made one (1) entire friend who I can talk to off platform and not just see on the dash/my notes and that's just the nature of how tumblr works as a platform (it's terrible for conversations)

Adventure Time Watch List
With Fionna and Cake currently airing, a lot of people have gotten interested in possibly watching Adventure Time lately - either for the very first time or returning to the show after having dropped it at some point. I've already started helping a friend watch through the show with me and have talked to other friends who expressed interest in doing the same.
For the above reasons I thought it would be fun and helpful to create a watch list, and then I thought it might be of use to others! It's a list I'd describe as lightly curated, but keeping things extremely easy for anyone to choose how they, personally, would prefer watching the show by leaving all info/options available.
Personally, I think Adventure Time is a show worth watching in its totality! At least once, anyway. But I acknowledge it's intimidating to get into a show with 10 seasons and over 200 episodes, plus some people are mostly interested in specific characters or plots, or have watched through most of the show before and want a faster way to catch up on 'key info' without running through the first five seasons with a fine-tooth comb.
So, the document! It includes:
A key for how I marked every single episode (based on their necessity for understanding the overall plot, which eps introduce and expand on recurring concepts/characters, which are arguably "totally skippable", etc.)
Highlights marking all F&C episodes and each of the mini-series arcs.
Colored hearts which mark major character appearances (Ice King, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline) and significant episodes that center on/continue the arcs of Finn and Jake respectively.
>>> You can view it here! <<<
(if any of my choices on this doc are ones you disagree with, that's fine! but please don't try to argue with me or complain to me about anything if you think something is marked wrong or missing. this was mainly done for personal/friends use. feel free to take this list and use it as a base to make one of your own!)
The idea is that you can use the list to curate your own experience in watching through the show. If you want to watch everything, you can! But maybe you only want to refresh yourself on the main plot, or maybe you only want to watch all of Marceline's episodes, etc etc.
I would like to emphasize one more time this was very casually made. Hopefully, if nothing else, it works for anyone who's interested in AT but doesn't know where to start beyond just watching the show from the beginning.
I also wanted to put out a list like this because I've heard of the existence of watch lists that will recommend skipping a majority of episodes outright, including entire seasons, which ??? sounds absolutely insane to me! Even the earliest seasons of AT contain episodes absolutely crucial to the overall plot!!
(This probably comes from the idea that the earliest seasons of AT are "worth skipping" because they're "not as good" as later seasons, or that early AT is only okay but "gets better" around the middle. I heartily disagree with this; some of my favorite episodes are within the first three seasons. I will of course acknowledge that some of the earliest episodes probably won't suit some folks' tastes even if what comes a little later on definitely will; hence, this list.)
Anyway, I hope this helps anyone interested in watching! If you do give Adventure Time a try, I hope you have a great time with it! It's a fun show and I think watching the whole thing is definitely worth it~

As promised, here is an in-depth brief overview of the circumstances surrounding Melady becoming Lalum's legal guardian
Got it out technically before the year end, and it goes under a read more so I don't fill your dash with a whole lotta words (1240 words to be precise) because I have some sense of courtesy. Hope you enjoy it!
It had, at least initially, been purely a matter of logistics. A child required housing, of those with space and time available, one said the other was the much better option. Echidna made very clear that her house full of weapons was not suitable for a kid, so said kid became Melady’s problem. The situation was even more awkward than is typical, due to its atypical circumstances. The child in question was, in one way or another, related to Sigune. So of course, information about her was impossible to find or never existed. They knew her name was Lalum, that her parents were dead, and that she was related to Sigune. They couldn’t even be certain she was a child. They were considering her as one, and Sigune said she was ‘underage’.
And Sigune never lies.
The child was both inoffensive and offensive. She took up little space, made little noise, occupied little time. She kept to the basement that had been made her room, emerged to eat, barely spoke and when she did it was quietly. Except when she started fires. And broke windows. And made graffiti. And started more fires. And ruined things. And threw knives. Every time, Melady would either reign her in mid-crime or haul her back home post-crime. Every time, Melady would ask the child why she had done this, and be told she didn’t know why, and she was sorry, and she wouldn’t do it again. Every time, she sounded honest, regretful, sad and scared and weak. Every time, she would do it again. What frustrated Melady wasn’t the behavior in and of itself, it was how inexplicable it was, how it came from nothing and vanished before it could be seen. Melady was told that the child was loud, insulting, dismissive, chaotic and insufferable. She only saw a quiet, fragile, empty person. A child seemingly too afraid of the consequences to ever make a noise or express a want.
It bothered Melady, that the child she was in charge of, that she cared for, was lying to her. Not by saying  she wouldn’t do this again, but by trying to hide whatever part of her it was that longed for chaos and relished in humor derived from starting fires and annoying people. That hiding, that refusal to show the wholeness of herself, was a lie, as offensive as any. And it wasn’t one she could make the child stop telling. She couldn’t force her to expose that side of her. Her only option was to make the child willing to be honest with herself and with Melady. She had to make herself into someone who could accept that honesty. And she set herself to that goal.
It was not an easy thing to do, offering acceptance to someone who offers nothing to accept. She did all in her power to be kind and understanding every time she had to question the child after one of her outbursts, despite Melady’s longstanding opinions on the value of militarily instilled discipline. But she valued honesty more. She mentally noted every bit of information about the child she could get from their brief conversations during meals, and followed those scant leads as best she could. Regardless of if it involved watching over 200 episodes of Dragon Ball Z or playing through Earthbound.
It was a delicate thing though. She couldn’t treat this like she was pursuing a quarry. She was researching an artwork, reading information about the artist to derive more from the work. She couldn’t just open conversation at dinner with “I watched DBZ so I could know you better”, that was an incredibly bizarre thing to do. She mirrored the child, making the occasional remark regarding the works.
She could see the results, as the remarks became more frequent, blossomed into brief discussions. She saw life and energy in the child that she never saw elsewhere, passion and opinions and humanity. It was often fleeting, something the child reigned in. But it was there, she was drawing it out. It took over a year for the approach to truly work, for it to create a real relationship that was not purely a matter of logistics. Melady saw that it took great effort, great courage on the part of the child to make her move, to acknowledge the bridge Melady had been building between them. To be honest with herself and her guardian.
“I’m going to play Radiant Silvergun. You can come watch if you want.”, said quickly, dismissively, by someone who left before she could receive the no she expected. Melady waited a minute before walking down to the basement. The child was visibly surprised, having already accepted that connection with her wasn’t wanted.
“So, tell me about Radiant Silvergun.” stated simply. It made the child pause, stunned. Then, for a brief moment, Lalum showed an incredibly earnest, honest smile. It was then quickly replaced by an expression of dismissive confidence.
“So it’s an old shmup that’s mad weird in a fascinating way. The gameplay kicks ass of course, but what really keeps me coming back is the way the story works. The stages are numbered chronologically but not played chronologically, so you start on stage 3 and then go to 2, then 4. It rules. Then there’s the story itself, which was sort of added in the saturn port, since the game didn’t have cutscenes in the original arcade version. So a bunch of kids took home a copy of their favourite shmup and then like 3 minutes after booting it up on their saturn they’re told all life on earth got killed by a tetrahedron.”
Lalum continued rambling, going on about weapon types and The Stone-Like and BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS. It was, at best, mildly interesting to a layperson, which Melady was. But the happiness and confidence expressed by someone she’d barely heard speak, let alone emote, was truly engaging. It had been worth the effort, she decided. It was worth further effort, she decided. She asked about what scenarios the ‘thunder beam’ was useful in just to hear Lalum keep speaking.
After that event, Lalum became significantly worse as far as most were concerned. She had been quiet before now, but suddenly she was overconfident, more annoying and her crimes increased in severity. As far as Melady was concerned, Lalum was finally alive and it was as beautiful as it was infuriating. Disagreements between child and legal guardian increased in frequency, but now it wasn’t a series of questions answered with quiet platitudes. Lalum would push back, would explain what vague whims and arbitrary standards drove her to act, and would make a very obviously false apology. This was a marked improvement in Melady’s eyes.
As far as Lalum was concerned, this adult that had been forced to take care of her had met her emotionless, people-pleasing facade head on, and as such now had to deal with the ‘real’ Lalum. If pressed, she’d admit Melady could be fun to talk to and the way she expressed actual interest in whatever weird garbage Lalum rambled about made her feel weird and vulnerable and something better than tolerated. But she figured Melady would crack eventually and get sick of her, like everyone else did. It was just taking a REALLY long time. Hopefully it’d take forever and things could stay like this, just don’t quote her on that because it sounds lame.

and so, with a very clean 200 votes cast in the final poll, in a vote of 124-76, it’s behind you has been voted as the best episode of ghosts!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a very worthy winner. it's been fun watching this bracket play out and i'm, honestly, quite sad to not see it come back. i would do a worst episode bracket, just for fun, but i kept count of the votes cast in this bracket, and it's easy to assume who would win (lose?) a worst episode bracket
Tumblr media Tumblr media
still, it's been fun, and i hope everybody is happy with the results :)
(also, happy birthday benjamin <3)

Witch’s heart x The Magnus archives au!!!
Claire - Vast
Ashe - Spiral
Wilardo - End/Hunt
Sirius - Eye
Noel - Flesh
Charlotte - Slaughter
Zizel - Stranger
Lime - Desolation
Rouge - Web
!!Also quick disclaimer it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been into wh so some things might be incorrect!!
First off idk if this is just wh but with the entities of if it’s entirely tma’s world. It’s probably going to be the first tho
Also all the demons are human(or at least used to be)
Also for non tma meowtuals here is a chart of the entities and here is a video essays for them(it’s unfinished, there’s still two entities to cover) i also linked the wiki pages for the entities mentioned, if anyone is interested (I’d recommend listening to the actual thing but if you don’t wanna watch 200 episodes to understand this, here you go)
- Vast!claire was actually the second to last one I came up with. If Wilardo’s still immortal/ 500 years old she realizes that in a few hundred years no one will remember her and that she doesn’t matter in the big picture. And while initially it scares her later she instead finds comfort in it. She becomes a lot like Simon. Becoming a very “live in the moment” kind of person. “I don’t matter in the long run why not have some fun”. I can also she her having fun with the falling thing. There’s a hc I remember seeing for the vast avatars (specifically Simon) where their eyes changed depending on the sky. Claire already has blue eyes, just add clouds or stars!!
- Spiral!Ashe because they have a lot if similar themes. Spiraling mental health, hallucinations, fake friends, manipulation. I can see him trying to bring his family back and accidentally sacrificing himself to it instead. Also it’s avatars are typically very tall and thin(and colorful). I also like the idea of Ashe being a surreally tall, thin and colorful hallucinatory headache. The spiral has a fake place called “Sannikov Land” and I can imagine him saying he’s from there
- End/Hunt!Wilardo. Idk witch one to pick so I’ll explore both. The end is mainly if he’s still immortal. If he is, he finds comfort in it and that the end will take all eventually. It might be centuries but it will take him and he will finally get to rest. I also rlly like him with the ends powers. Like the dreams of peoples deaths, THE ROOTS (That show how people DIE!!!)
For the hunt, it’s mainly if gramps is alive (and their both mortal) mainly because I’m assigning them to Julia and Trevor. At some point them meet probably dealing with the end or another entity and end up sticking with each other in a similar was Julia and Trevor did (idk how they met I just assume that’s what happened), and both of them end up becoming part of the hunt
- Eye!Sirius, idk how he got marked but I assume maybe messing with Dorothy’s stuff or a leitner. I think the wanting to know, see and understand thing fits with Sirius very well. I can see him using it to call bs on some stuff Ashe says. Like going back to “Sannikov Land”, Ashe says he’s from there and Sirius is like “no your not. That’s not a real place.”
- Flesh!Noel is the last and most difficult one I came up with. It’s also a bit weak but it fits the best. Originally I chose it because of the flesh monster he becomes. But the rest of it kinda fits as well. The flesh is strongly associated with dysphoria, and even if you don’t hc him as trans that would still be a lot of dysphoria he would of had as a kid. I also rlly like Noel having a more animalistic fear. He became an avatar when he was cursed in cannon
- Slaughter!Charlotte. It seems a bit easy giving the war criminal the war and (sudden) violence one but anyway. She’s probably still (mostly) human. just a bit more (openly) violent, and quick to do so. The slaughter is also strongly associated with music, specifically air(?) instruments so I like to picture her walking onto a battlefield (especially no man’s land) in an actual war/military uniform playing the flute or something.
- Stranger!Zizel. This one was kinda a bias because the stranger’s my favorite(and I love Zizel) but I also LOVE uncanny valley doll Zizel. Idk if she was ever human because the stranger seems to prefer manifestations over human avatars. And either would work so idk. I feel like it adds to the lack of identity tbh. But anyways uncanny valley doll Zizel <3<3
- Desolation!Lime. This one was probably one of, it not the easiest to assign. From the fire themes, to the destruction of others and their lives. I can see her with a similar role to Jude Perry. She encounters the cult of the lightless flame sometime in her 20s (specifically 25 because that’s when she becomes a demon in cannon) and falling in love with their beliefs. I can see Lime following Jude’s story in general. She joins the lightless flame in the 80s/90s and after becoming an avatar she becomes made of wax. I like to imagine her and Sirius as that one scene where Jude and Jon meet. They make a deal where Lime would tell Sirius (pre eye) something important but they have to shake hands, lime, made of wax, burns his hand.
I can also see Matty being part of the lightless flame. Like the burning down Ashes house and destroying his life is something they would do
- Web!Rouge. I feel like control theming fits well with Rouge. If anyone were to create structured plans on how things could go I feel like I would be her. The web also has stong themes of addiction, puppets, and that your actions aren’t rlly yours, which I can see fitting. I also rlly like a spider like Rouge. Like her with multiple spider like eyes and arms. The web is also called “the mother of puppets” which I can see fitting her. I also sometimes see people draw her with a web on her jacket so
Other side stuff (world building kinda)
I’m rlly glad I assigned Web and Desolation to Rouge and Lime because their known to not get along. They constantly clash because of the Web’s intricate plans and the Desolation’s destructive chaos
I feel like do to how close Noel is with Rouge, he was also marked by the web. Not a very strong mark but still a mark.
Dorothy plays a similar role to Gertrude because she deserves to be an absolute badass. She’s spent a good majority of her life fighting the entities, stoping rituals, etc.
Fiona and Sirius’s parents were still accused of being “witchs” and burned but this time the main motivator was that Nicholas would accuse people of serving an entity
Speaking of Fiona Elford I’m giving her Fiona Law’s role because they share a name
(Also I would link Fiona Law’s wiki page but she doesn’t have one apparently)
Fiona would pass out when she got scared which helped her survive against the entities. She would be unconscious so they couldn’t feed off of her fear, and left her alone
Giving more to the role Gramps is going to play, Trevor is a vampire hunter, so Gramps would probably take that role, and and fell victim to the hunt first and later finds Wilardo.
That’s basically it!!
I don’t have much for plot. It’s jut wh characters in tma so I assume it’s like just that plot
Wait actually they still meet in the mansion but it’s connected to the entities
There’s no murder or timelines but it was genuinely the rain!
The entities mess with them for a bit and are let out a bit later either before the change or as it’s happening
The five of them wonder a apocalyptic world where the entities have taken over (and maybe meet the “demons” again)
That’s genuinely it!!! If anyone has any ideas, please say something, I’d love to talk more about this
Thank you for reading!!

6. Getting into Sailor Moon is easy!
You can read the 60 chapter long manga
You can watch the 200 episode long anime which makes up its own rules! :D
You can watch the reboot! Starting with Crystal seasons 1 and 2 which have inconsistent quality
Then watch Crystal season 3! Don't worry it looks completely different but its still the same anime!
Followed by Crystal season 4! Oh these are two movies that cover an entire arc! Don't worry it looks completely different but it's still the same anime!
And finish with Crystal season 5! Another 2 part movie that covers the entire finale arc! Oh wait- sorry that's not available yet unless you're Japanese 🤔
7. Don't forget the iconic first dub of the anime! Starring Serena and Darien and featuring two very close cousins 🥺
This is just a fun stupid little post. Don't be offended. I fucking love Sailor Moon. It is literally just fun to be a fan of it lol. Genuinely was not expecting so much complicated baggage on one series when I decided to pick up the manga last year 🤣

Honestly, hanging around those Sailor Moon facebook groups or Reddit must be an exercise in sadomasochism. But seriously, it's totally irrelevant how they "feel" about the name Usagi. It's just is. There's nothing they can do about it. I really do feel some hardcore DiC fans come across as rather cultish about the dub, and many cases, not really a fans of Sailor Moon IN GENERAL. It's not gatekeeping when RIGHTFULLY pointing out a LACK OF RESPECT and CONTEMPT for the original source material.
I don't know why I continue to do it for real.
Maybe because it's halfway entertaining
But the comments this post got on that FB page...
Tumblr media
It was ridiculous with the " Oh you are gatekeeping" comments
Because with three of these, if you just watch either the Japanese Sub or Viz Dub of the 90's anime you will know right of the bat.
Even a causal watcher would know these because it's very simple since it's right in your face in the show. I'm not even saying a fan of the show but just someone who just happen to pick it up.
Now with Chibi Chibi being cosmos that's in the manga so you have to read the manga for that.
Hell we are not even talking heavy heavy Sailor Moon Lore stuff that you have to find in the manga or deep in the series and seriously put your thinking cap on. ( Like what I did last night thinking that Nehellenia could be the first Incarnation of Chaos. )
Just stuff that is right in your face which is the first three.
I know that some of us ( including me) only had knowledge of DiC/Cloveway dubs since that was the only dub accessible to watch thanks to Toonami.
So yes the Japanese sub was not accessible to watch back in the day when we were kids.
But now thanks to Viz dub getting the license for all 200 episodes in Japanese Sub and redubbing all 200 episodes
Both of them are accessible and available to watch..
Yes I know certainty countries like UK,Latin America ,Canada( they just lost it on Crave), and other countries are having a hard time getting the series sub and dub into country along with the Manga.
But the United States??
Bruh Please!
PlutoTV got a whole channel that shows 90's anime, the movies, and Crystal.
You can watch them on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
You can watch Crystal on Netflix.
You can buy the episodes on Amazon, Itunes, and Mircosoft Store
You can buy the DVD's and Blurays.
Hell you can watch all 200 episodes and Crystal on fucking youtube for free! It's legal because viz put it up there!
That just the legal sites.
When I come back to the fandom in 2008 when I was 18 we didn't have that all! This was two years before the resurgence about the happen so wit was like 8 years that the license was expired and wasn't no Sailor Moon anywhere.
It was hard finding the show since it wasn't available anymore.
I am thankful for a channel on veoh that I found on a Sailor Moon FB group ( which SM FB groups was WAY better then they are now) that had all 200 episodes even if they wasn't in good condition. I was able to watch Stars for the first time which before then I didn't even know about that season at all. I was able to learn their names and found out about certain episodes that I didn't know even exist.
Shit with the manga?
We have have THREE versions that are in print right now.
Second Reprint, Eternal Editions, Naoko Takeuchi Edition
Also you can easy find the scans online thanks to Miss Dream or any other website that host manga.
It's a difference when in 2008 when I didn't know what the fuck a manga was when the only manga print US had was the Mixx which was out of publication. Which thankfully thanks to Neobilty website, found the whole mixx translation which was my first one I read before I found Miss Dreams and start reading theirs.
Like I'm going to be straight up honest.
There is no fucking excuse anymore because it is there now.
It is accessible and available especially in the Unite States. ( Which is still the main country that whines about every fucking thing.)
It's not like back in the early 90's and 2000's before the resurgence in 2010 which you could use that excuse because it was fucking hard to find shit.
Now all you got to do is do a damn goggle search and it's there.
But hell they still use it as an damn excuse.
But they cling to the dic dub for dear life and will not let go for nothing.
Which if someone brings it up they are ready to dogpile like on this post has like 230 comments and most of them are dogpiling the OP.
Yes If it wasn't for the DIC dub I wouldn't be a fan but it's not accessible and available and for very legit reasons.( Which they are very tone deaf to hearing about it) If you want to pay dollars for a damn bootleg ( since it's hard to find the legit versions) instead of just finding the torrent, that's on you. I got the dic dub along with the cloverway on my computer.
This is not about who is a true fan or gatekeeping.
It's about the fact that it's accessible and available for you to watch but you rather stay on one version while you can be enjoying multiple versions and than acting entitled and ungrateful

Obey Me! You got (Fan)Mail Levi x Mc
Tumblr media
A certain otaku gets concerned when Mc gets letters from other students
"Agh I hate that thing so much...here's a suggestion how about a normal drop off box?!"
Mc groaned as they used a cleaning spell to purge the red gunk from their uniform and gathered up the letters with great annoyance. They were going to put a strongly worded note in there later.
But for now time to get back to the student counsel room where Levi was waiting to sort mail with them.
The door opened and Levi glanced up from his phone,Mc was back,he perked up as they sit beside him and dump the satchel.
Well he wants to get their sorting duty finished asap, then they can go home...and maybe Mc will come to his room and watch that new anime episode with him after dinner..
The huge pile of mail looked daunting...there had to be 200 envelopes at the very least....seems the students had been busy this week.
Mc looked at Levi and sighed. "Well I guess we'd better get started."
The two grabbed letters at random and started reading.
There was some requests and...quite a few complaints involving Mammon and one with Beel because he ate all the cafeterias Abyss Delight...whatever that was,but into the boxes they go.
Then several signed envelopes were uncovered.
"Oh! Fan mail, look Levi this is super easy to sort."
Mc was smiling at him...holding up letters.
Levi blinked, sometimes he couldn't keep up with their enthusiasm for normie activities.
He looks through the pile...two names are scrawled on them,15 for Lucifer and 20 for Asmo.
It wasn't uncommon for those two to receive mail from the RAD occupants...notes of admiration, love confessions, attempts to curry favor.
Levi sighs,he never gets any letters. Well who would want to send love letters to a yucky otaku like him anyway? Stupid normies.
"If only I had Lucifer's power and influence"
Levi sighed once more before turning his attention back to the pile.
He was still stewing in bitterness when one of the envelopes caught his eye. It was bright pink and had cute bloody heart stickers on it.
Another love letter for one of his brothers no doubt.
He picks it up and flips it to read the name...Mc.
"HUH?!"
That snapped Levi out of his brooding. He reads it again, yes that was Mc's name.
"Levi why are you gaping like a fish out of water?" Mc asked.
"Umm...This one has your name on it."
"Oh? That's different, here I'll read it later." They say, taking it from his hands.
The third born was still surprised...but he focuses again and resumes sorting.
He comes across a second with Mc's name...then a third, fourth and finally after sorting everything a total of 40 letters were found.
Levi was in shock...all these people sent Mc mail? It was like something out of a manga.
So was Mc apparently. "That's...a lot more than I thought there'd be."
They stuff all the letters in their satchel, somehow it all fits.
"Okay we're all done let's go home." Mc grabs Levi's hand and pulls him impatiently.
"Ow...Mc! Can you be less rough?" Levi said grimacing.
As the two walked back to the House of Lamentations,Levi hopes they don't notice how clammy his grip is.
Why does Mc have to be so forward, just taking his hand out of nowhere...kinda like that romantic anime he watched the other day.
They finally get home,to his relief and he was about to go to his room when Mc grabs his sleeve.
"Hey...Levi,want to come to my room and read through all these with me?"
The third borns eyes widen like saucers...he would have said no but the prospect of getting alone time with Mc was too tempting, even if it made him nervous.
"Ahh...Sure!" He squeaked a little.
Mc smiles and takes his hand again...Levi let's them lead him to their room...his stomach flip flops.
They get inside and sit on the plush bed, moving several pillows to make space for two people and a letter pile.
Levi settled on the bed and looked around. He should come in here more often. The tree gave the room a pleasant, faint earthy scent and while it wasn't as cool as his room the stone wall adjusted the temperature nicely...and nearly everything smells like Mc.
They always smell so good,he wanted to bury his face in their pillows and blankets and...if Mc wasn't here he might have...but what if they think he's a creep?
He didn't want Mc to think that...
"Levi? Hey?"
"Ack!?" He's jolted from his thoughts.
Mc is waving a envelope in his face. "First one, let's see what it says."
They rip it open while Levi watches..then skim over the words.
"Oh isn't this nice...Look Levi it's from that one guy in Magical History class..he said he thinks I'm awesome and smart."
"I think that about you too Mc" Levi mumbled.
"What's that?"
'N-Nothing." He spluttered.
Mc goes through the pile, there were a few more letters saying Mc was cool and how much they admired their magic skills.
But then they got to the love letters.
"Your butt is thicker than a Madame Screams pound cake." Mc reads on one letter.
Levi groans. Oh that was bad, even he knew that.
"Yeah, this person isn't the best with words." Mc said as they glance at him.
They read through more letters, all peppered with complements about Mc's appearance.
Levi tried to stay calm. Oh Mc your so cute, hot, beautiful, handsome ect. The words mocked him,but it was tolerable.
Until people were actually confessing their love and asking Mc to go out with them.
Levi was seething, his envy started flaring up.
These normies....have the audacity to try and win his Henry over?! It wasn't fair, why did they have to be more assertive,to say all the sweet little things he wants to tell them?!
He nearly summons Lotan out of anger and frustration.
"Levi,you okay?"
Mc's voice snapped him back to reality. He stares at them before getting off the bed.
"Mc...I..I need to go,I can't take this anymore."
He bolts from the room,to their surprise. Was the cringe too much, they wonder. Hmm they'll stop by to check on him in a bit.
Levi ran all the way to his room and shut the door...now out of breath he gasps for a few moments, before crawling into his bed...wrapping the blanket around himself and hugging his legs.
He laid there a while, then the thought of Mc being with another person caused him to panic again...his poor otaku heart can't handle that.
Levi sits up...a couple tears prick his eyes...No he can't let that happen..
He walked over to his goldfish.
"Henry I don't know what to do...I can't let Mc fall for someone else...how do I make them mine? What can I do?"
Henry 2.0 fluttered his fins and a couple bubbles bloop from his mouth.
He sighs, sitting on the floor by the tank wondering.
A thought strikes him. Wait...maybe he could write his own letter to Mc,yes that's what he'll do.
Levi digs through his school things and is able to find a envelope and a sheet of paper.
Now what to write?
After about a half hour he folds the paper and seals it with a cute Ruri-chan sticker.
He takes a deep breath,he needs to give this to Mc. He can't risk putting this in the suggestion box at school.
Levi peeks out of his room to see if it's clear, then quickly makes his way to Mc's room.
They're still there...but the door is closed.
Levi tensed up,he feels anxiety bubble up in his stomach...now that he's in front of the room...can he do this after all?
He decides to slide it under the door, knock and run back to his room. Mc hears a noise and looks to see something stuck under their door.
"What's this?"
Mc picks up the envelope it has their name on it...Is that Levi's handwriting...and a sticker?
They open it.
Mc I couldn't stand hearing all those things anymore...I want to tell you all those same complements and how I like it when you come over and watch anime and listen to me talk about Ruri-chan and dress up in cosplay with me and....
The letter rambles on it seems Levi wrote down whatever ran through his mind at the time, they get to the end.
I mean that your my dearest Henry and I like you a lot and I don't want to lose you...Leviathan with hearts scribbled around it.
"Is that what all that was about?"
Mc smiles...Levi can be dramatic and cheesy but...he's also very sweet...when he can get past his shyness.
Well it would be rude not to reply wouldn't it? They grab a pen.
Levi was freaking out in his room, why did he write that? Why did he have to spill his heart to Mc like that, how are they even going to respond? They're probably going to be disgusted.
"Why do I do these things Henry...What if I messed up forever and Mc doesn't like me anymore?!" The goldfish just blooped again.
Mc could hear him yelling through the door...it was probably best to knock and stick it under like he did. They wait a another minute for him to calm down, then knock and leave as quickly as they came.
Levi jumps at the noise...he sees something poking out from under his door...Wha?
He picked it up,it was addressed to him,he opened it and started reading the note.
To my beloved Lord of Shadows, you have no need to worry because you already have my heart and I also like doing otaku things with you too...your dearest Henry,Mc.
It was short and sweet...and Levi feels his heart flutter...he starts dancing around the room and squeeing in excitement.
"I didn't mess up after all Henry!"
He smiled wide. Levi was going to text Mc now and ask them to watch anime with him later after all.

MAG 148 Relisten
Activity on my first listen: mowing the lawn.
ELIAS: (mumbling) "Here we go" (normal) Good evening, Detective." [BASIRA IMMEDIATELY ASSAULTS HIM.] ELIAS: "Ow!" That whispered "Here we go"...(btw in neither the fan transcript nor the official one) Was it just "ah yes, Basira is back" or was it "ok, Basira is fuming and I know what she wants to do, let's get this over with...". He says it later, Basira is becoming predictable. Also very satisfying sound, 10/10, only MAG 200 is even better.
ELIAS: "– I’ve – I’ve always thought that a man’s eating habits were his own private business –" [BASIRA STEPS CLOSER] BASIRA: "Mm-hm." ELIAS: (strained like he is being choked) "– but… I can see how maybe I should have mentioned it." [ELIAS CATCHES HIS BREATH] Holy shit, I either can't remember Basira choking him or I never caught it before. Fan transcript doesn’t mention any sounds in this (I added them here), official transcript only describes Elias answer as "conciliatory".
ELIAS: "Look, look – I’ve been doing this a long time now, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned about the Web, it’s that it plays its own game. All you can really do is hope it doesn’t get in the way of whatever your plan is. Because the Spider usually wins." We know that Elias finally saw his chance when Jon came to him already marked by the Web. And yeah, the Spider does win.
BASIRA: "You always call me “Detective.” Is that supposed to mean something?" ELIAS: "Honestly, I just like the way it sounds." In 159 episodes this is probably the only time he's clear about something and honest xD
JON: "I can’t believe you’ve been seeing him all this time." BASIRA: "Oh, yeah. That’s the terrible secret sabotaging the trust between us." Yeah, compared to others things, this does seem quite as big of a deal. Still, I think it's something that would have been worth mentioning. Since of a lot of relevant things happened because of this, that seemed like a dead end to them. That's suspicion. I saw an old post from 2019 some time ago, where someone said something like "The way the Dark ritual lead nowhere Jon's gonna kick off the Watcher's Crown by accident". Oops...
BASIRA: "Yeah. John, We’ve been over this. the key is to not force people to feed you their trauma. You know – just don’t do it?" Oh yeah, Nicotine is bad for you health? Just stop smoking. Easy. You're depressed? Just be more positive. Wow! /sarcasm
JON: "It’s not that simple." BASIRA: "No. It is. Or I put you down." Holy... Threatening to kill him... Wow. After she has watched Daisy for years and said nothing. She’s kind of extra aggressive on this day, first Elias, now this... Frustration?
BASIRA: "Daisy’s been managing." JON: "Daisy is… yeah. She’s managing." Daisy is fucking starving. Even if she hasn’t crossed into full Avatarhood (I think that happens after MAG 158...), Jon also was already dependent on statements in S3...
JON: "I have been meaning to ask: the tape, the one of the uh… my victim. You said Martin gave it to you." BASIRA: "Yeah." JON: "How was he? How did he look – was he – uh –" BASIRA: [interrupting; sounding slightly less harsh] "I don’t know. I didn’t see him. He just left it on my desk with a note." JON: "Oh. Right." BASIRA: "Yeah." JON: "Can I ask what it said?" BASIRA: "Um, yeah. It said, uh. “Talk to him”" JON: [harsh breathing/sobbing sounds] T_________T  It’s been a while since we had a heartwrecking scene like this...
I'll be honest, I have no memory of this statement...
There is so much more rambling about their general situation and less things actually happening, I'm already losing track again...
"So he found the manual. More of a pamphlet, really. Can’t have been more than ten pages of A5 in the whole thing, yellowed and water-damaged. Well-used, though. Someone had even put their name in the front, like they were afraid people were gonna steal a manky instruction book." Oh hold on, is that a Leitner?
Sounds like this Sampson really got into I'm On Observation Duty XD
"He kept saying, 'what do we do with his eyes?'" So the cameras?
"'He won’t stop,' he said. 'We can’t get rid of his face.'" On the CRT screen, Sampson wouldn't stop looking at them I guess.
Aw man, that post statement scene. It seems like it did something at least cause he says he's (feeling) better. But it’s not as nutritious as a new statement. And he’s needing more and more of the old statements. That’s also a effect of (some?) addicting substances. Getting accustomed to smaller doses and needing more to get the same effect as before. This is the only thing, which makes it seem like an addiction and not a need to survive. Though there are some indications that Avatars do need to cause fear to survive. “Feed your god, or it will feed on you” (MAG 89),  “Hopefully, he’ll fade away or burn out as they tend to when robbed of their purpose” (MAG 130),  “John Amherst was encased in concrete, and shrivelled away to nothing after just a few years” (MAG 184). Accepting less and less of old statements is probably just an effect of the Eye to bring him to get new experiences. And since there are some indications that also written statements given to the Archivist can cause those dreams (Dekker MAG 113, Salesa MAG 115) it will become more and more difficult to survive without harming others.

The Ancient Magus' Bride 101
Tumblr media
I promised I would review this anime. It wasn't easy.
The story begins with a young, ostracized homeless woman selling herself into slavery for a place to stay. The human trafficking scenes were hard for me to get past. I couldn't do it the first few times I tried to watch it. I was sold to abusers as an infant, I know human trafficking survivors, I'm married to someone who witnessed human trafficking as a child. Fans say, "You don't understand how desperate she was." Girl, I understand EXACTLY how desperate she was. That's WHY I had problems getting through those scenes. That's why I strenuously object to the story giving the impression that maybe this was a good idea on her part, which it seems to do in the second half of the first episode.
Our protagonist is bought for a high sum by a weird guy with a deer skull for a head and taken to his home. Once we get the human trafficking setup out of the way, the story falls into a 200 year old pattern. An enigmatic stranger brings a poor girl to a remote country estate for mysterious and questionable purposes. That's Early Gothic straight out of the Bronte sisters, which Jane Austen satirized mercilessly, Arthur Conan Doyle warned against in his darkest Sherlock Holmes stories, and in real life provided some of the most stomach-churning true crime reports. None of those efforts did anything to stop Gothic romance from becoming a sales juggernaut. Over the centuries their forms have mutated as their popularity has ebbed and flowed. The 19th and early 20th Century Gothic romance had magic and no sex before it died off around WWII. The mid-century Gothic romance of my childhood had neither magic nor sex and ran out of steam in the 1970s before coming roaring back in the 21st Century with plenty of both magic and sex. The atmosphere, remote setting, secrecy, and the power imbalance have stayed the same.
We find out that the girl Chise has the ability to see magical creatures, which has lead directly to her ostracization and homelessness. It also means she can be trained as an apprentice magician which the deer skull head guy Elias says he plans to do. And there's the Chosen One/Cursed One theme. Chise is also removed from her slave collar and given a magic stone to wear in it's place.
(Okay, now I want to see Elias and Moon Knight's Khonshu go out for coffee together, grouse about having animal skull heads and the trouble finding decent minions, and compare staves.)
As is standard with any Gothic romance, we next find out that the neighborhood is dangerous and the neighbors are either untrustworthy or nonexistent. In this case there's fairies in the nearby forest who try to hustle Chise through a secret portal. Chise, in a heretofore unseen display of either caution or Sunk Cost Fallacy, is like, "What the Hell? I just SOLD MYSELF INTO SLAVERY to get a roof over my head, you think I'm going to turn around and throw it away now?" (Coming from a badly traumatized child, that's understandable.) Elias shows up to fetch her back (it's too early to call it a rescue) and we find out that the magic stone has a magical GPS. He then reveals that he wants her unscarred because he's thinking about making her his bride as we check off the last ticky-box on the Gothic Romance plotline checklist, the impoverished female protagonist attracts the intimate gaze of the Master of the House.
So far so standard.
Aside from the plot details, there's two more ticky-boxes. One of them regards art. Gothic art is supposed to be "magical", slightly eerie and very beautiful. The animation easily fits the bill. It's lovely, the forest scenes especially so.
The last ticky-box concerns the atmosphere of the story. Gothic romance has always derived power from transgression. What contemporary readers often fail to realize is that the original readers would have felt a very real sense of danger in what the heroine was walking into. Contemporary writers have a bad habit of falling back on sex and gore, and if that doesn't work, slathering on more sex and gore. (Looking at you, Laurell K. Hamilton.). This story has a real sense that Chise's idyllic sanctuary might be ultimately less safe than the streets she was living on. In that regard, it's the finest recreation of the feel the original Gothic Romance stories would have given their audiences that I've seen in ages. But that feeling isn't very comfortable.

all the daemons in the daemon au
Alright. If you have not read my TAZ daemon au the stars are alive, this is not gonna make any goddamn sense. Also, major spoilers ahead.
That being said, here's a breakdown of why I gave characters the daemons I did, because I put way too much thought into this.
Fair warning, it is going to be abundantly clear that I put way more effort into some of these than others. Also damn, I started this five fucking years ago and my writing and interpretation of TAZ have definitely developed since then.
Okay, let's get into it.
Obviously, I made all the IPRE squad birds. How could I not. It's the thing. I saw seven birds, and all that. But oh my god did I put so much effort into which birds.
Merle was the easiest and the hardest, because he has a bird associated with him in canon. He has the owl mask! He's the owl guy! Great. There's more than 200 species of owls. All of them work with the wisdom symbolism that's a really vital part of his character, but I gave him a barn owl for a very specific reason.
Barn owls are weird. So most owls are in the family Strigidae, literally called the typical owls. When you think of owls, great horned and screech and burrowing and the like, 255 of them fall into this broad category. But not barn owls. There are twenty species of owl that are not Strigidae, and that's the family Tytonidae. They're still owls, but they have pretty significant biological differences and that shows in a couple interesting ways, like how barn owls can just kinda unhinge their whole faces and scream. Cool as hell birds.
And that's Merle, right? He's a dwarf, he has his family in Faerun, but he doesn't fit in. He's an outsider - not necessarily visibly, but he is in many ways isolated within his own community. I wanted to draw on that as a defining character trait, along with the wisdom thing. And also barn owls are neat.
Magnus has a Harris’s hawk and you can fully blame Planet Earth II for this. No really, go watch the Harris's hawk clip, it's so cool! But anyway. Magnus's thing is protecting others, and more specifically covered in the Raven's Roost rebellion, and really blatantly illuminated in the conversation with the Power Bear - basically this man keeps rushing in but he is strongest when he's fighting with his friends. Harris's hawks are one of the only birds of prey that will hunt in packs. They collaboratively work to chase down prey in the desert - seriously, watch the episode, it’s amazing!
Taako and Lup's daemons come as a matched set, because I wanted to highlight how they go about the same goal in very different ways. Killdeers and northern goshawks are both known for their very distinctive methods of protecting their nests. Killdeers do what's called the broken wing act - when a predator approaches their nest, they fake a broken wing and do their best to bait the predator away from their nest. And then when they're far enough away they just fly off, because it was an act. That's Taako - acting, manipulating, looking like the easy target until he's not, it was a trick, gotcha, sucker. That's how he protects himself, his family, in general what's his.
Northern goshawks take a different approach to nest protection. They are very well known for being aggressive as fuck. Forget deception, they have talons and will just attack anything or anyone who gets too close to their nest. This is a bit over-simplistic, but also Lup did just go full on firestorm at Edward so like. It makes sense.
So the obvious reason for why Davenport has a hummingbird is that they’re very little and very fast flyers. Which is true, and definitely something I considered. But more importantly, hummingbirds get angry. I’m not great at writing Davenport multidimensionally, but his sin from the Judges was wrath. Hummingbirds are territorial, and they will legitimately attack humans despite being like the mass of a ping pong ball. I have been cussed out by hummingbirds so many times, there’s a bunch of flowering native plants in my yard back home and those little guys get pissed.
Lucretia has a loon for a couple reasons, some of which I only figured out after I made that decision. One is that the call of a loon is used in film to signify loneliness. It's that bird sound you hear in like scenes where people have been abandoned in the wilderness. And she's the lonely journal-keeper.
Also uh. Loons apparently can't walk on dry land? Which works well for me in terms of more of the out of place/loneliness themes she's got going, but not so well for all the scenes where I wrote him walking around.
Okay. So Barry’s bowerbird daemon is one I’ve had from the beginning, and it like 90% started as a really stupid joke. I’m just… I’m gonna insert the instigating video here. Listen. He’s The Lover. That’s his defining characteristic. And his name is Bluejeans. I could probably make this a more solid reason but nope. Watch the video. Listen, sometimes TAZ is choose joy, and sometimes it's fighting weeds on floor 20.
Onto the rest!
John’s daemon is actually the very last one I came up with, and part of the reason that it took me so long to write the latter half of this fic. There were a couple things I had in mind for him. First, I have this tendency of giving bird daemons to characters important to the seven birds. That’s why Angus has a crow, which I’ll get to in a minute. So I wanted to give John a bird too. And then I had to figure out what specific trait of John’s I wanted to use for my convoluted bird symbolism. I didn’t really want to use anything super aggressive or like evil vibes, because that’s the Hunger but that’s not John. I thought about mockingbirds, or lyrebirds, or parrots, because John is a public speaker, he uses his words to do what he does. But I eventually settled on a sociable weaver, because John’s thing is community. Sociable weavers are cooperative nest builders. By which I mean hundreds of them can work together to build an absolutely massive complex nest meters across that they all live in. That's John.
She did have a name. John just doesn’t remember it.
So another thing with daemons is that they don’t have a set form until their human reaches puberty, -ish. Which quite honestly I forgot for the first few chapters of this fic, whoops. But Angus’s daemon is usually a crow, because corvids are wonderful. Again, it’s the bird parallel thing, but crows are clever. They’re problem solvers, they’re creative, they’re incredibly smart birds despite their fairly unassuming appearances.
Also, her name is Chirrim, which is my brand of fantasy bastardization of the name of my good friend Charm as a nod to one of her very good fics. Who did not know this, so hey Charm, guess what?
None of the other names mean anything, they’re all just words and a mash of syllables I thought sounded good!
Carey and Killian: Iguana and boar. Yeah, not a lot of thought put into that one. I only got really hardcore into the symbolism a few chapters in, so they took a bit of a hit from that. Similarly, Sazed and a fox - yeah, what a unique idea.
Lucas: So Capuchin monkeys are the most intelligent new world monkeys, they’re clever and they’re good with tools. They’re also used in laboratory experimentation, which eeeeehhh but good for this. They can also be trained as service animals, fun fact! But beyond the scientist/monkey thing, I wanted Lucas to have a monkey to parallel Mrs. Coulter, who in the books is the one responsible for the machine Lucas created and who has a daemon referred to as the Golden Monkey.
Jack, June, Isaak, Cassidy: I wanted to go with the desert aesthetic, I think everyone in Refuge has a daemon that’s native to or common in the American Southwest. Jack’s jackrabbit is a slight nod to Hester, one of my favorite characters in HDM. June’s gila monster is one of the only venomous lizards - she may be little, but she can do some damage. Isaak’s rattlesnake… I mean, again, not subtle. And for Cassidy, mules are known for being stubborn.
Ren: Still the desert theme, but also nocturnal for the good good drow parallels. Incidentally, apparently my interpretation of drow appearances is completely non-canon - I always imagine Ren with medium-toned grey skin and black hair. Pallid bats are white, and I wanted nice contrast with her hair.
Roswell: Okay Roswell is strange, because they are their own daemon. Yeah. So in the books, there are armored polar bears, or panserbjørne. They don’t have daemons. Instead, they have armor they make themselves out of meteoric iron, which kind of serves the same purpose, but is not exactly a daemon. More on that later. So no, Roswell in this fic isn’t exactly an armored clay being with a bird daemon; Roswell is a bird with an armored clay sort-of-daemon. I'm proud of this one.
Paloma: Paloma has a dragonfly for a few reasons. I wanted something that could fly, to parallel the seven birds and the witches in the books. It also needed to be something small - not having a daemon is wrong to most people, so if you’re like our main cast and could send your daemon far away, you’d get at best some extremely weird looks. But if you have a little daemon, like an insect, then you can easily let people assume that whenever they can’t see your daemon, it’s still there, it’s just in a pocket or something. Also, I liked dragonflies for Paloma because their big eyes and wings look crystalline.
Johann: He has a cricket, because it’s little, it’s unassuming, but it’s musical. Also, mechanically, crickets make their music by rubbing their wings or legs against each other to create vibrations, exactly like a bow on a violin!
Other notes! Most other daemons were one-offs and aesthetics based. The judges got an ant and a python because (I think, it was three years ago) I was going for both the hive mind/super structured society vibe of ants and the slow crushing power of a python, plus the link to prophecy. And I specifically wanted to avoid any animal symbolizing justice. because they're not just.
I never decided what Edward and Lydia's daemons were - it didn't really matter at this point in our story. But they're my other polar bear metaphors! I mentioned with Roswell that bears have armor they make themselves that's their soul, but not the same as a daemon. There's a bear in the books, illegitimate king of the panserbjørne who rules in an ice palace in the north, who thinks that the humans of Mrs. Coulter's faction can make him a proper daemon. Lyra, the protagonist, actually convinces him that she is a bear's daemon, and this is all part of a scheme to overthrow him and I am NOT doing this justice but it's one of my favorite parts of this entire book series. But everything with the liches and Lup is a DIRECT homage to Iofur Raknison and Lyra Silvertongue.
Oof. I think that's everything? I've been sitting on some of this since early 2018 and I am SO glad to finally get it out into the world.
no one needs to know this much about birds

How To Seize A Dragon’s Jewel Liveblog Part 2
I lowkey forgot where I continued listening, I hope I remember everything (I did this over the span of several days)
the professional escape service is such a Camicazi thing to do!!! I’m so happy she makes an appearance and that she’s her usual badass self! Also, Eggingarde makes it out yassssss
Hnnnnghhhh. The scene where Hiccup gives himself up. Where he finally outs himself after a year of being on the run. The way his scrawny looks are described. His growing up and having gotten older. The way he gets surrounded by 200+ swords, which must be an amazing sight to behold, and the way the Witch wants to make sure he doesn’t escape. Everyone scooting after him on their yots (still don’t know how to spell it) as he aimlessly drives across the sand. Lol. It’s hilarious but so in character for the vikings. Stoick and Gobber finally openly supporting and rooting for Hiccup is such a relief too!!! It’s so deserved!!!
AND THEN THAT SCENE. Innocence, Arrogance and Patience my beloved. They shoot lightning. They are black with green eyes, and they are hovering over Hiccup roaring, preparing to kill him, yet sparing him because of his friendship to Fishlegs. The detail of Hiccup almost passing out, gosh, it’s the scene where Toothless pins Hiccup down in the woods! And since the book came out in 2012, this scene was inspired by the og movie!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!! Nevertheless, Cressida stayed true to her own vision and did not blindly copy the movie in return. Props to her for that. Having seen the movie first, it can’t have been easy.
The scene where the dragon gets caught in a trap on the Red Sands, and tells the story of Fishlegs. Oh my gosh Fishlegs. It’s so satisfying and such an oddly specific situation.
SANDBUSTER SANDBUSTER SANDBUSTER SANDBUSTER SANDBUSTERRRRRR
I don’t think the book!monster even gets a name. And it’s one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever heard described in literature. Cressida really loves horror. Welp, I don’t. I loved this book so far, but should I ever come back to it, I will most likely skip this scene.
However, the mirror tunnels were a beautiful sight to imagine!!! The treasures behind glass and Grimbeard’s red herring solved are sooo cool. Wait, I remember this episode in Rtte that dealt with a lot of amber as well. There was a connection to the Deathsong, I believe. To watch those amber/glass walls collapse and rain glorious, deadly splinters down on Hiccup was super satisfying.
Fishlegs!!!! Poor Fishlegs. Again, the description. Of them both being cold, starved, enslaved, unrecognizable stickfigures in rags. Just the amount of things these two have been through together creates a feeling of real brotherhood right there in that cave. Awesome moment.
I personally would have just waited for the tide to withdraw before breaking out of the tunnel and having to swim?? I mean, the whole cool crystal cave got flooded. Plus, the underwater aquarium effect was so unexpectedly wholesome because it fit into the unlikely narrative.
Fishlegs, the runt, gets the coolest dragon!!!! Yass!!! This is such a personally important moment for me, actually. This is why I relate to movie!Hiccup so much. Because the coolest character alive thought he was worth protecting... because of who he already was. This may be a spontaneous emotional dump, but I have longed for the very same thing to happen to me my entire life. But I have not been worth this to someone, so when I became an adult, I had to learn how to be this person for myself. I’m still learning how to be okay with what went down, and that I’m not going to miss out on anything much important because of it.
At this moment in the book, all is well and the narrator literally tells you to take a break, drink a glass of water and consider sharply whether you want to keep going with the story. I took that as my cue to stop for now. There’s still an hour to go. Will do a Part 3.
Thoughts??? I loved this part of the book so much, it was so amazing!!!!

Here is my recap of the Huge and Huger (Never Been Kissed) episode of the podcast.
Kevin the one with the bad immune system. Kevin has strep throat. He said he should start cataloging the illnesses he has while recording the podcast. He was sick all the time on Glee. Jenna said it didn’t help that they were always being worked to the bone. They would get a doctor to give them b12 shots. Kevin said it was mostly on tour. Jenna said it sometimes happened on set and also when she was doing Waitress.
Kevin mentioned how easy it is in the US to get a steroid shot when you are feeling sick but need to perform. He said when they were in Manchester it was hard because doctors there don’t just hand out medicine like in the US.
Jenna had to get a steroid shot before the LA tour stop. She said within 20 minutes her voice was back.
This episode is the beginning of their run with Brad Buecker. He was an editor for the show but this was his first time directing an episode.
The episode aired November 9, 2010.
The #1 song was We Are Who We Are by Ke$ha (Kevin made a Mr. Figgins joke when saying her name.)
The #1 movie was Due Date.
Glee the Music The Christmas Album was released the same day the episode aired. It went platinum. It was the 4th soundtrack by the Glee cast. It was #1 on the Billboard Soundtracks chart. it peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. Kevin said he believes this was their most successful album ever. (What about the Warblers album?)
They made the 2010 Hot List at TV Guide. The shot Glee covers. Jenna, Kevin, and Harry were on ne of the covers. Kevin said all the planning for this happens without them knowing. They are told at some point and then they are ushered int a soundstage connected to main soundstage. They had about 15 to do the cover shoot. They did multiple covers. The did a Finn and Rachel. They also did a Quinn and Puck. Kevin said it was in the middle of the work day and they didn’t even realize what was happening. They had a TV Guide party that they went to at the W on the roof. Kevin said it was messy. There was someone else that Kevin is friends with from another show and she had a little too much. They were all trying to avoid her and Amber was like you are all terrible people and walked her to her car. Kevin said you are an excellent excellent friend. They met Brandy Kevin embarrassed himself so hard. He tried to arrange for her to come to set. Kevin said he also needed to be walked out out his car because he was an embarrassment.
This was Brad Beucker’s directing debut.
This was also the debut of Darren Criss. We meet Blaine for the first time.
There is some pretty heave Max Adler/Dave Karofsky storyline.
We got more of Coach Beiste/Dot Marie Jones. She received an Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy series nod for this season. This episode was submitted for that award. Kevin said Dot was excellent in this episode. Jenna said she is an angel.
This is the return of Puck after Mark got punished IRL for releasing an album. He is now back and has a gigantic storyline so punishment served. Jenna said this is where we set the precedent that usually if a cast member gets in trouble, leaves, acts out, does something they usually come back and get a huge episode. Kevin said when they allude to people getting away with things, they are not here to be gossipy, this is what they are referring to. He said Jenna and him started to think that maybe they needed to start acting crazy to get a storyline out of it. It seemed like the squeaky wheel sort of thing. They got the gold. Kevin said Puck gets a big storyline and he’s a part of it so no complaints. Jenna said she thinks its funny that Kevin said he didn’t remember the episode but he’s all over it. Kevin said he had no recollection. When he started watching he remembered it was that episode. He remembered One Love and the scene where Artie convinces Puck to let Artie rehabilitate Puck. They do a really inappropriate hand finger thing. Jenna said her husband David gave her his hands last night when they watched the episode and she said I’m not doing that.Kevin said it was Mark’s idea. The adults on set didn’t know what it meant and somehow it was kept in the show. You know teenagers. Those two scenes are all the remembers.
He said he remembers leading up to this episode they had heard there was going to be another singing group. They heard about the Warblers but it was all sort of hush hush. They were busy filming the episode before and didn’t know what was going on. He said he thinks it was Zach that came in and said this song they are doing is really good. They crowded around and he played it for them. They were all sort of envious because it was a great great cover. He remembers thinking this is going to be huge. They were excited to see what the Warblers were going to be. They didn’t know tat all that hey would be around permanently or well forever. Kevin said it was an exciting time. They got to meet Darren. It was also fun to get to see Max Adler get to act.
Jenna said when Darren showed up on set he was wearing his pink sunglasses and Michigan shirt. She was dating someone that went to Michigan or was from Michigan and knew Darren. She went up to Darren and said they had mutual friends. She also knew of him because he was a part of the musical theater scene. Kevin said the Harry Potter of it all. She remembers him coming to set and being like I kind of know you. Kevin said he didn’t know him at all. He just came on and felt like he had always sort of been there. He said it but also felt different because this was the start of Kurt getting a boyfriend is going to a really big deal. He said it was interesting to have someone new come on and take that responsibility because they had been living in that world and seeing how Chris was being approached publicly by fans and how much Kurt meant to people. Then to have someone come on and they were like I hope you are prepared for this, this is going ot get wild. Jenna said if there was anyone that was prepared for it, it was Darren. Kevin said he can just handle it. It all just rolls of his back. Jenna said nothing phases him.
They went over the songs that are in this episode. Kevin said the girls smashed.Start Me Up/Livin’ On A Prayer.  He said it so good and that Jenna sounds great on it and he has issues with it but he will talk about it when they get there. Jenna said Stop In The Name Of Love/Free Your Mind was so good. Kevin said it was a weird one. Jenna said the girls loved it. Kevin said they loved Chord. Chord was still new and he remembers him stepping out for his solo and all the girls gasped and giggled with their hands on their face. There was no acting. Everyone was so enamored with Chord and he was like their baby brother or like a little puppy. Jenna said so charming and so cute. Kevin the girls melted and it was crazy to see. Jenna said they were surprised. He came out of nowhere and just fit in with the guys. She said the guys held a high standard of being themselves in these things. Cory looks like a fool dancing but he is so committed that its so cute. Everyone looked that way and Chord just fit right in with that and she was like wow he really feels comfortable here and that’s awesome. They were totally smitten. Kevin said the girls didn’t have nearly as much time with Chord at this point. The guys had done numbers with him without the girls. They were hogging him. Jenna said the whole number was just so cute and they looked great.
A big part of this episode is that Kurt makes friends with a guy in a new glee club at a different school while he continues to deal with Karofsky bullying him at McKinley. Finn and Sam come up with an idea to use Coach Beiste as a way to cool down. She finds out and quits. Tina is also involved in that and Puck and Artie strike up an unusual friendship.
Kevin said this episode is really crazy. He thinks that when people think of this episode all you really remember is the Warblers, Darren getting introduced, and Karofsky bullying Kurt and kissing him. That is sort of the main thing because that ramifications throughout the rest of the series. Somehow this show has the bumper as Finn and Sam talking about how they got the only two girls who won’t sleep with them. Finn was like well what he does to stop himself all the way is thinking about the mailman. We have a great callback to the beginning of the show with Finn hitting the mailman when he’s learning to drive with his mom. Finn is like look you need to find your own thing. At that moment Coach Beiste is yelling at Artie and picking a wedgie. Sam is like great I found my thing. This quickly spirals out of control because Sam uses this when he’s hooking up with Quinn and says Beiste out loud. Quinn is not happy about it. The boys tell the other boys aka Mike Chang who then tells his girlfriend Tina. Tina is like ooh wee let’s see if this is actually true and put it to the test. It’s not Mike that needs it, it’s Tina ala Sam a couple of scenes earlier closes her eyes and thinks of Beiste. Kevin said it’s like that saying close your eyes and think of England but all he could think of was close your eyes and think of Beiste. Then we get all these incredible shots of Dot Marie Jones doing these incredible things like ballet at a ballet barre and chopping meat. It’s so good. It’s very Nip/Tuck esque. Dot is an amazing and hilarious acting. Kevin said he thinks this is some of her finest work. That her and Harry just eat it up. He loves that it’s Jenna. Quinn is obviously upset about it and goes to Sue. She is like I don’t know what to do because clearly Sam is hooking up with Coach Beiste. Sue is thinking she’s been trying to get Beiste fired and tells Quinn to publicly confront him and make it loud. She does and Coach Beiste hears it and gets yelled at by Mike to stay away from his girlfriend. Will finds out and confronts the Glee club and says the boys and Mike goes and girl. Kevin said Jenna’s face is the best. It’s such an insane storyline but very high school. Kevin said it’s very inappropriate. Jenna said leave it to Tina to be the one. Kevin mentioned that she had some great costumes. Jenna said this was lead up to that moment where she thought I can’t do it anymore with the costumes. They were getting more extreme. Kevin said they looked really cool. He mentioned the first scene of Tina walking down the hallway with Kurt when he gets pushed. Jenna said are you joking about Kurt’s outfit. Kevin said they were both like fashion, fashion, fashion. This was Lou getting her moment and getting to play. Jenna said Tina and Kurt were the ones you could do that with. Beiste confronts Will about it because she trusts him. Kevin said she loves them so much together. They have a really sweet friendship. Jenna said it’s nice they have each other. They are kind of the underdogs and outsiders. When Beiste first entered the scene Sue tried to get Will to see her as a common enemy, like enemy of my enemy is my friend but really their collective enemy is Sue. Will decides to give to Beiste straight. She takes it very personally as one would. It leads her to quit. Then we get to the scene where Will is summoned by a note from Becky to go to the auditorium to meet Sue. She is celebrating and says did you notice my cannons and that she gotten her budget back. That Coach Beiste quit because of the Glee club. Then the confetti cannons explode. Kevin said she has a great line about songs that are about being ugly or whatever it is you guys do in there. Jenna said even when you hate Sue so much the scenes are so freaking funny. Kevin said he remembers them talking about shooting that scene because of the clean up.They could really only do it once because of the clean up. Jenna said you notice that in each shot of Will the confetti is a little bit different. Will tells the Glee club that Beiste quit and they are surprised. Jenna said she isn’t sure why everyone is surprised but I guess they are kids. Everyone is very upset. Finn and Sam go apologize. Will goes to find Beiste and tries to talk to her. Jenna said this scene is weird and remembers reading it and thinking do we have to. It feels like it was threading the needle to Kurt having never been kissed and Beiste having never been kissed. This was the point c to get to and all the rest was kind of getting there and it was better then this point c that happened. Kevin said it made him so uncomfortable. Jenna said it is so strange. Kevin said does she want you to be her first kiss. Sir that is pretty presumptuous. Will was opening the door for her. Kevin said the audacity of men. The whole scene he was like no no, don’t do it. He couldn’t remember but he felt like he was going to do it because of course he would and he was like no. Jenna said she was dreading it. She said it was an important scene with or without the kiss. It allowed Beiste to be vulnerable and to see the softer side of her. She is not yoru typical female coach. It was really great to see her open up more and understand her more was really great. Kevin said he thought was interesting an episode where you are introduced to two more gay characters you then have her state I’m not gay. They got to clear it up for people that not every character in this show now is going to be gay. Jenna said even though Dot is gay in real life. Kevin mentioned that Max and Darren aren’t gay so you had to balance it out. Jenna said they are actors. To get Beiste to not quit the boys perform their mash-up for her and apologize to Beiste in the choir room to try to get her to smile because she has such a good smile. They do their mash-up where the girls lost their minds or one Chord Overstreet. Jenna said she loved the performance, mash-up, and costumes. She loves boys vs girls. Cory assumed every adlib was Kevin’s. Kevin was like thats your voice when they were listening to it. He had them solo it out so they could hear that it was Cory. Cory didn’t remember doing the adlibs. Jenna said they pulled the wall out for this one and she remembers the way Brad shot it being very efficient. She said they were really really cute.
Along with this whole never been kissed storyline with Beiste. Schue has the competition list for sectionals and that is how the Warblers are introduced. The assignment for the week is boys vs girls. Everyone is bored with that idea and Schue switches it up and decides the girls have do something the boys would normally do and the boys have to do something the girls would normally do. It added an extra challenge to the tournament. This is an attempt to appease Kurt who is getting abused left, right, and center by Karofsky. He wants to be with the girls but Will is adamant no and has this really good one on one with Kurt. Through this he decides to give the boys and girls an extra challenge. Kevin said he was so excited to watch this because even though they weren’t on Vitamin D it was still that energy. Jenna said it looked like they were on Vitamin D. Kevin said his problem with this number is that everytime Jenna sings the camera is never on her. Jenna said it happens a lot. Kevin said he was really pissed because she was really good and she doesn’t get to sing rock music very often. Kevin said he thinks it was an editing thing because it happens several times that the camera isn’t on the person singing. Jenna said she thinks Brad had to get used to that. They mentioned at some points it was switching every two lines between Jenna and Lea. She said a lot of the time you wouldn't know she sang on a lot of these songs. Kevin said what also happens is that they forget. If they only have four or five lines in a song they record it in 15 minutes and then go about their day and completely forget.
More importantly in this storyline with the tournament is Kurt being bullied to no end by Karofsky. Kurt is really unhappy and it’s not manageable or sustainable. Kevin said it’s violent and really rough. Jenna said she was surprised that Mr. Schue was like is there anything I can do and your like uh yeah get him out of here. Kevin said get Karofsky expelled. Kurt ges to visit Dalton and has a whole new experience. He meets Blaine is also gay and out in school. Not everyone is gay at Dalton but there are more gay and out there then at Mckinley. The Glee club is cool. As Blaine says, they are rockstars. So everything that Kurt wants is represented in the Warblers and Blaine. It’s something he didn’t even know existed. We get to see him meeting another out gay person that is his age. At McKinley the boys are exactly nice or supportive of him at all. He is completely abandoned and alone. Jenna said now watching this as a viewer, Teenage Dream which became like Don’t Stop where it was played too much and run into the ground, she watched Darren do it and was like oh my god what a stunner. She was very charmed by him as Blaine. Kevin said having some distance from it he could understand it better now. He said the cover was great but When they started Don’t Stop was a very simple number but it was so charming and it worked really well. By the point they got to this number they had done Rocky Horror and Madonna and Britney and their numbers were out of control and great and big and expensive. Teenage Dream came along and it was like a reset. It’s very simple, there isn’t a lot of choreography and it’s 100% charm. He  said at the time he was confused as to why it was so popular. The cover was really good but this performance is fine. Kevin said he would have died if he was a viewer. He said he tried to consume as much gay media as possible. There was not a lot of it. Watching them run throught he hall in slow motion holding hands, he would have been obsessed with it. Jenna said she was obsessed with it watching it last night. She said this could have seemed so cheesy and corny to some viewers but she gets it. Kevin said but also that’s great. Let it be cheesy. This was on Fox at 8pm. To have corny romantic gay storyline of high schoolers. Whether it’s good, bad, or everything in between letting a whole group of people have that on a show watched by families was really special. Jenna said the Blaine storyline in this episode storyline had so much substance to it or rather the Kurt storyline. She was really appreciative of it. Having Kurt have someone in his corner other then his dad, another gay man in his corner encouraging him and supporting him. Jenna said she can’t imagine what that would have been like for someone that was closeted or the only out gay kids in their school or feeling like Kurt in any shape of form to have a Blaine or a hero in their life. It was really well done and important to have. Kevin said they are pretty opposite in their characters. Karofsky is abusing Kurt continuously this episode and when Blaine comes around Blaine says you just have to sand up to him, courage. After Kurt has been shoved for the 8 billionth time Kurt follows Karofsky into the boys locker room and called him out. He is like what the hell is your problem in this really powerful serious scene. He is really going at it and says you are not going to punch the gay out of me. Kevin said oof, that is some writing. Then Karofsky grabs Kurt’s face and kisses him. Kurt is stunned. Jenna said as are all the viewers. We find out that is Kurt’s first kiss and he immediately goes to tell Blaine. Blaine shows up at McKinley to confront Karofsky with him. Kevin said Blaine is very like Darren in this way where he is lowkey about it. I completely see through you and it’s not htat big of a deal. This is who you are, all  there are a lot of us, you are not alone. You are acting out because you don’t know what to do with it all. Karofsky is stunned silent. Then you have this really beautiful scene in the stairwell that sets up the relationship where theya re so different. Kurt admits he had never been kissed before and Blaine is like alright lets get lunch. He doesn’t play into it at all but is there for him. He doesn’t have to say all the other things because he has been through it before. We haven’t seen that yet and it’s nice to see that. It’s now shown Kurt another world and going back to McKinley is going to be difficult. Jenna said stay tuned.
Jenna joked before we end the episode there is a huge storyline they haven’t talked about. Kevin said no it’s little. Puck comes back from his time off on the show. He went to juvie. He comes out and puts on a facade but we find out he hated it and never wants to go back. He makes Arite is community service. The probation officer later says Puck is hanging with a crip but be meant a cripple and not a gang member. Kevin said Artie needs some social help. He doesn’t know how this busking scene happened. Jenna said it was raining the day they shot the busking scene. Normally if it’s raining they would cancel the day or they would change the scene and do something interior and move the outside shoot to another day. This day was also the day they shot the outside scene with Karofsky, Kurt, and Blaine. Kevin said it was just a light drizzle. They shot when they could. It was a really simple number. There was rain on his glasses and on his head. Kevin said it isn’t a great look when you have thin hair. His favorite part of this whole storyline that Artie admits he was dating Brittany and wants to get her back. Puck is like we will go on a double date with Santana, Brittany, and myself. They are really terrible to Brittany and Santana. He said Heather and Naya were so funny. They ate it up. Kevin said he was very excited because he never got to spend much time at Breadstix. Jenna said were you now. He didn’t know the nightmare of Breadstix this was is introduction. Kevin said Artie didn’t have a lot of redeeming moments but he was thankful for the moment of him paying the bill and not running out. Then it basically all comes crumbling down because Puck was pitching to Artie that he was a macho man and nobody messed with him in juvie and it was so easy and he could go back at anytime. The probation officer calls him out and is given an ultimatium to actually find community service or go back to juvie. Artie confronts him and says you are acting in sane basically and you just have to do community service that’s fine. Artie says he will help Puck pass geometry while he does his community services. No harm no foul if this doesn’t work out. They have their inappropriate handshake and that's basically it. Kevin said he thought it was this sweet little insight into Artie desperately trying to be something else but actually getting the upper hand and being able to help someone else. He said it was fun and he had a really fun time doing it. It felt light light and fun. Mark was fun to work with. Jenna said it was a very unlikely pairing that she liked a lot. She said they were very very good together. She said Kevi’s performance was great always but Marks’ performance was very good not that she was surprised but like you don’t see a lot of Puck and ot give a bad boy some layers like that is difficult to do. He was likeable, relatable and cute. It was a very cute pairing. Kevin said Mark in real life was the bad boy or well at least comparatively to the rest of the group. Kevin said he was putting in the work. He wasn’t necessarily a big actor before this and they never knew what they were going ot get and he was always rising ot the challenge of the storyline. This episode showed that.
That is Never Been Kissed. Jenna said she really enjoyed it. Kevin said Jenna was dreading it. Jenna said she was dreading it because she thought it was a different episode. Kevin asked if it was a night to forget. Jenna said no no not that one. She said we will talk about it when we get to that episode.
Tartie Takes
Cringe moments/Ouchies - Puck taking Artie as his community service and calling him a crip. The handshake. All the things with Beiste maybe. Those things were redeemed. Kevin said it’s not right but it’s okay.
Worst Dance Move - Jenna said she won’t point fingers but you have to go back and watch Teenage Dream some of those dancers were definitely trying to get camera time. Kevin said it wasn’t someone in the Warblers.
Best Dance Move - Jenna said obviously the boys. Kevin said he disagrees the girls were crushing it.
Best Song - Kevin said the girls mash up just because Teenage Dream is so popular. Jenna said the boys mash up.
Best Performance By A Prop - Kevin the mic stands in the girls number. Jenna said the cleaver in Beiste’s hand in the meat cutting. Anything in the dream sequences.
Best Line - Kevin is when Santana said can I just say this is what happens when people don’t put out. If people would just put out we would have a winning football team. He also said anytime Santana or Brittany spoke. Jenna said when Mercedes said how are we going to compete against a bunch of cute old people.
Shit We Found On TikTok:
Someone made a video about there being two types of people reading books on vacation. One is reading a book about slavery and the Holocaust. Then turns to the other guy and they are reading Sorry Not Sorry by the one Naya Rivera and says I am reading about how much fun Naya Rivera had on Glee. Kevin said it’s cute and go buy the book and read it if you haven’t. He said great video and makes him want to be on vacation permanently.
This was a big episode in Glee her-story.
Next week is The Substitute.
