ngl i'm kind of playing with the idea of Simon going to therapy with you. He won't go on his own by himself, but he'll join you for your own sessions. And if you're there for some of the same reasons he would be (i.e. trust issues, past trauma, anxiety, depression, etc), then I can see him sort of. Subconsciously picking some of it up. He doesn't really intend to, since it's not like he goes for any reason other than to be your emotional support. But he winds up internalizing it anyway.
Maybe he starts journaling a bit when he can't sleep. Or maybe you catch him doing 4-7-8 breathing when you can tell he's really tense. And he seems to have the uncanny ability to whip out any sort of coping skill or grounding technique at the drop of a hat. Like he's practiced them himself when you weren't looking.
But I think the biggest thing he winds up internalizing is that it's okay to open up. It's not a conscious thing he realizes, but eventually he notices that he seeks you out when he's having a bad day as opposed to squirrelling himself away alone. You're really the only one he'll confide in, aside from maybe Price, but it still beats the way he used to handle things.

I finally got a new sketchbook so I scanned this scribble and decided to post. Something something and then they lived out the rest of their days in a mental asylum.
