Honestly? Still kinda ticked Gendrya didn't end up together and that all the surviving Stark children were BY THEMSELVES at the end of the series even the whole point of their story was their love for their family and wanting to find their way back to eachother

Does anyone have good fic recs of the Starks just living in Winterfell before everything and being happy and loving and together? I’m in dire need.

ik this is very unlikely and probs not canon, BUT i like to imagine ned and cat went to the riverrun to visit cats family and they had a feast and a dance and ned would wear a mix of riverlands clothing (coz warmer) and his northern clothing, and cat would pull out her old dresses and mix them up with HER northern clothes and and and andnand yea, and they would dance the night away

It seems to me that the Hightowers are the spitting image of many politicians today, and that’s most likely why a lot of people can’t stand them.

They lie, conspire, cheat, look only after their own interests, claim to care about their people but their actions speak otherwise. They’re opportunists and always seek to take more and give little to no attention to other people’s needs. They resemble the Lannisters a whole lot.

There’s a reason why the Targaryens and the Starks have the biggest fanbases in the ASOIAF world.

The Starks are obviously the most decent people you could ask for in a world like this one. They are moral, kind, loyal and honorable oathkeepers. They are too good to be true, and perhaps also too good for that world. If there is one family that deserved to have a somewhat happy ending, it’s the Starks.

The Targaryens, although they had their fair share of bad apples throughout their dynasty, have a lot of qualities which fans admire. They are pretty heroic. They are passionate, resilient, brave, ambitious (in the good sense), intelligent and what I love most: they take pride in their Valyrian culture and history. They also have a sense of honor towards their ancestors and their House. With dragons in their possession, they are the symbol of power in the ASOIAF world.

Basically, the Starks and the Targaryens are the heroic types of families which most fans admire and the exact opposite of the scheming and villainous Hightowers/Lannisters.

i will always feel frustrated about the ways ned and cat failed to fully show arya she was loved. she is failing femininity at winterfell and it really feels like no one but jon was stepping in and telling her that she’s ok.. that shes loved.. that there’s a kind of person she can be. and what she wants (to run and jump and fight and to not be failing all the time) is actually not so crazy???? starks live in the north, they know the lady mormonts at bear isle! and hell, other noble families seemed to have figured out raising gnc girls (brienne, asha, many others), including ned’s own sister!!! also.. cat literally grew up the way arya is needing so badly to live and cat can’t even figure out that it’s ok! that maybe someone can tell septa mordane to lay off! the feeling of rejection and inadequacy that arya carries her entire life is NOT bc of sansa, a litral child, it’s bc her parents can’t get their act together to show up for her fast enough. and it hurts her so much, she feels so bad, so guilty, so scared. jesus h christ…

I love how Jon, even after the horrible treatment he received from Catlyn, still chooses to (unconsciously) follow house Tully’s words; “family, duty, honour.”

While no one seemed to notice, Catlyn instilling this sentiment into her children also gave Jon the same values, and I think that’s really sweet.
