shiv mentioning lady macbeth (who starts out the play manipulating her husband and is seen as a masculine soul in a woman’s body, whose femininity is her only hinderance) and then her and roman later on mixing gross shit together for kendall like the three witches making a potion and prophesizing that macbeth will kill his king… oooooh it’s so good it’s SO GOOD THIS IS CINEMA

rewatching the pilot post finale I am struck by the set up of logan's character like we do not initially see any (or only see in micro) the horrendous. disgusting and vile traits we will loath him for later on and by juxtaposition his children in one way or another all come off assholish, spoiled, or cutthroat. behaviors that they spend the rest of the season, and by extension the show, showing us why they are like that by turning them one way or another so that we can see the man who walked them down these paths hiding behind their shoulders. but upfront, we are always aware of how they seem to those around them.

Theres something about the final fight taking place in a glass walled board room and only in that room. Like they were visible and audible the entire time they were in there and yet kendall still stops trying to stop shiv at the threshold of the room. People saw the whole thing, whether or not they knew the depths, and they all kept out of it, some even actively turning away, but nothing about that fight was private. Its all just been an extension of that first vote of no confidence, the siblings taking their family problems and making it a business ordeal. And Kendall will attack Roman and wrestle him to the ground but he will still walk back into the meeting like nothing happened and no one says a word because it was a different room, and they all saw him behave like a rabid dog but no one did anything because they werent in the room, and theyre all stuck in this glass house together

More succession slapsticks ahgsh x'00
So I guess my current headcanons are- this would be a "family gathering on their mom's house for whatever ulterior motive which their mom claims to be to unite as a normal family. And it'd last various days. I think Roman already made a little peace with what happened at the end of the season- ocasionally reminding them with horrid jokes of how once again they berayed them (although I don't think he really cares, just wants to provoke them).
Kendall hasn't spoke since what happened qwq idk if not at all but barely. This is just a guess of my headcanon but he hasn't been in any good shape to see his own family and is kind of stuck on his mother's house (Maybe she invited the rest of the family to help her kick him out, L).
Shiv and Tom have been trying to live their best lives. They keep fighting a lot- specially because of the kid and the job. Tom likes and wants the control as much as Shiv- but he also loves their daughter and is trying so hard to keep the relationship. This is also a I guess, but Tom most likely doesn't respect as highly as he used to, the rest of Shiv's family now that they don't really (sPOILER) control the company anymore.
Greg is still around ofc- he's still Tom's partner in crime. (That doesn't mean he would never let him fall over but- It'd be dificult due their history surviving the Roys.) I Tom still wouldn't trust Greg to take care of his child. Even less Shiv.
Greg would most likely make it to the family reunion even without invitation.

the parallels between logan roy, his children, and catholic guilt is crazy like what do you say when god making you in his image ≠ he made you good. what does that say about him

Controversial take (not that controversial tbh) but i think Roman ends up with the worst fate. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about how Roman got out and broke the cycle but did he really? Though Kendall and Shiv end up in visibly worse places then they started (Kendall losing the company and Shiv becoming her mother), Roman ends up in the same place he started. He starts the series away from Waystar, with no real direction just drinking and fucking around and let’s be honest he ends up in the same place. There is no growth with Roman despite him having the most openly emotional journey this season. To me it really speaks to the nature of Roman’s trauma specifically and how he’ll always seek out what he knows no matter how much growth he could have made. For Shiv and Kendall the course of the show defines and determines the rest of their life’s but for Roman it was just a chapter (a denture really) to then go back to what he was always doing. For me Roman really hammers in one of the core messages of Succession: you have to work actively for change and Roman was never brave enough to do that.

I’m firmly convinced that there’s no sincere relationship whatsoever in succession, no relationship without a fundamentally transactional quality to its very core, but also that almost all of those relationships might be graced by a singular sincere moment every once in a while and that’s what makes those moments gutting. stewy trying to make kendall laugh and offering him the protection of his hug, frank calling kendall son, tom and shiv briefly holding hands while lying defeated on their bed, those rare hugs among the siblings, water in the desert, genuine kindness amidst the cutting of throats
