I will always hate that at no point in Star Wars 9 is there any mention of Kylo Ren / Ben Solo not destroying Luke temple. I'm hallucinating... Shitty screenwriters.

Are there any materials that show Ben/Kylo interacting with the Knights of Ren? I still can’t get over how in The Rise of Skywalker novelization it says that he had thought of them as “his faithful brothers” and felt betrayed when they started to fight him. Like how did we go from the end of The Rise of Kylo Ren to him considering them as his brothers?

Why Kylo Ren/Ben Solo wasn’t a villain and was actually a brainwashed pawn - A Character Analysis (Part 1/2):

- Let’s start off with Ben’s life before he was even born, in one scene from ‘Aftermath’ by Chuck Wendig (which is canon), Leia senses a dark presence watching her child in her womb. This would basically be Ben and Palpatine’s first force connection.
- Moving on to his childhood, Leia and Han (Ben’s parents) were terrified of the darkness brewing within Ben as well as his relation to Anakin, so they sent him away to Luke. And as said by Adam Driver himself who played Kylo/Ben, “Both Han Solo and Leia were way too self-absorbed and into this idea of themselves as heroes to really be attentive parents in the way a young and tender Kylo Ren really needed.”
- Onto the events in ‘The Rise of Kylo Ren’ comics (which is canon) where we learn that even before Luke tried to kill him and the Jedi temple was burned, Ben meets with Snoke in secret. Snoke easily helps Ben believe that the light is why he fails. that the light is the reason he isn’t as strong as he is meant to be. Plus, it is true that that Snoke was created by Palpatine to corrupt Kylo and it is likely that he did this to create someone who wouldn’t fall back to the light, like Anakin did.
- During Luke and Ben’s duel, it is hinted that Luke didn’t feel Ben’s darkness but Palpatine’s instead, using Ben to start this battle, making him look guilty for burning down the Jedi temple in a way. Further proving that Ben was just a pawn to him. At this point, Ben has been so easily convinced to join the dark side that he has begun to act like Anakin did when Palpatine got him to join the dark side. They both speak in that same sort of angry ‘I hate the Jedi’ ‘You are not good enough’ manner.
The following are some panels from the first volume of ‘The Rise of Kylo Ren’ as evidence:
- Just before fighting a childhood friend named Voe, Ben accuses them of being scared when really he seems to be the one who is afraid most likely because of the control Snoke and Palpatine have over him. Here’s the panel that shows that moment:
- I think it can also be said that Palpatine wanted Ben to be as strong (or stronger than) as Anakin. This is shown in the panels below where his classmates seemed to be in shock when they see all of this power that he has suddenly acquired. Here’s the panel that shows this moment:
- And again after injuring his classmates, we see again how afraid Ben truly is of what he’s surrendering to. but he easily lets the dark side/Palpatine take away any guilt he has. And once leaving the temple, Ben sees a flash of his mother and you can see the regret/fear in his face. But as a result of Snoke/Palpatine’s training, convincing and basically brainwashing he snaps back into that emotionless mental state almost immediately.
- The following panels prove a couple of things. one, that Ben didn’t burn down the Jedi temple and two, that he didn’t want all of this to happen to himself and his classmates. Palpatine even states that Luke chose this fate for Ben, causing more hatred for the Jedi to arise. Easily making him more obedient.

Clouded: Chapter 1
Summary: The consciousness of a 17-year-old Ben Solo wakes up in the adult body of Kylo Ren, who seems to be standing on some sort of suspended walkway… with an older version of his father before him. Reylo. Semi-Rise of Kylo Ren comic-compliant.
A/N: Many thanks to Head Butler Ryan from Mynock Manor for the in-depth summaries and perspectives of the comic series Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren. You gave this little plot bunny a place to hang its hat!
This has the potential to get expanded into epic proportions, but I'm keeping it short for now (six chapters). We'll see how long the hyperfixation lingers!
Chapter One: Where Am I?
Ben shook his head and blinked his eyes open. He was in a cavernous hold of some kind, surrounded by the thrum of oversized thermal-oscillators. Red operation lights glared as ominous portents in the darkness, and unfamiliar computer banks and access panels winked along a far wall. A breeze played idly at his feet, and he realized he was positioned over a yawning abyss. A thin maintenance walkway—without railings—bisected the bottomless void, swaying gently beneath him with each uplifted draft.
His father stood before him, but even that wasn't anchoring. He looked a decade older. A pain was etched into his deepened features, a sorrow and regret he had never seen from him, and Ben almost didn't recognize him.
"D-Dad?" He murmured.
His father's eyes went wide, crinkling at the corners, and a joy so brilliant it nearly blinded split his face.
"BEN!" He cried. "My son!" He flung his arms wide, and Ben found himself swept into a tight embrace—tighter than when he'd first left for Uncle Luke's temple seven years ago.
"I knew it wasn't too late!" His dad exclaimed, shaking with sobs. "I KNEW you were in there!"
Two joyous shouts joined Han Solo's, coming from high above the precarious walkway.
Ben looked up and spotted a woman beaming down in awe. She was even more disorienting than the alien landscape. Only a few years his senior, there was a roughness to her—a resilience he could see even at a distance. Dirt and grime smudged her face and clothes, wayward hair hung around her ears, and determination set her jaw; she was a survivor. Her gaze was nothing like Voe's competitive covet, or Tai's exasperated patience. He could see pride, surprise… even curiosity… all aimed at him. Ben felt himself straighten under her stare and discovered there was a new strength and bulk to his frame. Like… a lot. He felt enormous.
Chewbacca gave a thrilled roar a moment later, but Ben barely heard. He couldn't tear himself away from her. Who was she?
From her elevated platform, the woman's hands fluttered into motion, cupping around her mouth. "We'll meet you on the top level!" She called. Her voice was clear and bright, brimming with unfiltered elation. Whatever he had done—addressing his dad?—had made her unbelievably happy.
"Get going!" She pressed. "We need to move!"
His father withdrew and grabbed his arm. "Come on, Ben," he urged, starting to pull. "We gotta hustle, buddy."
Ben ducked his way through a nod. What's happening? He wondered. Am I dreaming? His foot snagged on something left on the catwalk. He looked down, staring at the foreign object. Is that a… helmet? Am I on a mission? Was I exposed to something? Ben squeezed his eyes closed, snapping them open as his dad pulled harder
"Hurry, son," he implored.
Ben obliged, kicking the helmet aside and breaking into a trot. "No problem, Dad. Where to?"

He's living one life that he feels is a lie to his true self, and knows the only other option is another lie to his true self. There's no option open to him where he can just be himself.

there was error says ben kills tai but in real life tai was killed by ren it caused ben gone berserk by killing ren after turning dark side
They've got a whole 2 pages about The Rise of Kylo Ren comic but it seems like they didn't even read it?
Ben didn't summon the lightning strike that burned the temple and kill everyone. It's heavily implied that it was Snoke/Palpatine.
Tai was killed by Ren, but then it says Ben killed him???
I think they missed some pretty important details in this 🙃
And yes exactly! Ben was so distraught over Tai's death that he killed Ren in a fit of rage.

Still baffles me how so many large creators in the fandom are still saying that Ben Solo destroyed the Jedi temple and everything Luke created. Like at most he unintentionally summoned that lightning in a moment when he was fearful and Palpatine was manipulating him.

what you think about rise of kylo ren should animated
I'm not opposed to it and if that's the only way we'd get it all I'm for it, but I'd prefer it in live action if only because I want to see Adam Driver in that role again. Plus, I feel it would reach more people if it were in live action because there are a good number of people who don't care for animation, especially when it comes to Star Wars (my on own parents aren't interested in the SW animated shows).

So in The Rise of Kylo Ren, Kylo's ship is named Grimtaash.
Grimtaash, for those that don't know, is the name of a mythological creature from Alderaan. Very specifically, Grimtaash protected the royal family from traitors.
How very fitting then that Kylo piloted a ship called Grimtaash when escaping Luke, after what would have been the biggest betrayal he would ever feel in his life?
