So it's been a while since I've seen this episode, but I've had thus idea floating around in my head for a while-
You know how in the Rings of Akhaten, the Doctor tries to kill the Fucking Sun by force feeding it his memories? I remember watching that, and thinking, wait, it totally eats whatever is sacrificed to it, right? I mean, it physically consumed the Leaf, right?
So, with that in mind, I always thought that it would be interesting to toy with the possibility that yes, it did literally consume his memories. The Doctor is physically fine, but the fucking sun ate all his memories. Sure, he probably still has some stuff floating around- he has the telepathic connection to the TARDIS, and she could supplement some fundamentals, but he has no idea what the fuck is going on or who anyone is.
Lots of fun for Clara to deal with, considering this is like... pretty early on in her travels with the doctor.
Anyways. Just some food for thought. :).
