Machine Girl - Dumbass!!: i was listening to a whole bunch of machine girl in the lead-up to the gecs n girl show and i feel like it made me a bigger fan than i had been previously. i honestly still am not like the most familiar with their individual songs but this is one of the ones that sticks with me. NO SUCH THING AS THE BOOGEYMAN!!!!

Cracked Out - If You Leave Me I'll Kill Myself: pretty tasteless but as soon as i came across this post and listened to it i was immediately hooked on this song. it reminds me of the dumb edgy comedy bullshit i would have listened to as a tween, but like, the better side of that stuff. it was basically impossible to find much of anything about this group, so the spotify track is a local file that you guys won't be able to play, and it wasn't on youtube so i actually uploaded it myself this morning just to put it in the playlist lol

Sum 41 - In Too Deep: i feel like sum 41 tends to kinda get dismissed as part of the obnoxious skate punk scene of the 90s-00s, and to a large extent that's fair, but man did they have some good hits. i feel like edgy teen songs like these really can work by being simple as long as they just hit the premise with everything they've got, and this would be an example

Tyler, The Creator - DOGTOOTH: i was very pleased when this reached the top 40, brief though its stint was. i've been getting more into tyler recently bc i feel like i've been missing out, he's really such an interesting artist and he balances a lot of different traits super well while still delivering the goods in terms of good beats, good lines, etc. seriously, "not sure what you overheard but it's probably what I said" is such a good fucking line

Nick Lutsko - A Ghost Story: would STRONGLY recommend checking out the video for this one, either in the youtube playlist or on tumblr here actually never mind i can't find it. watch it on youtube it's fun. i followed nick lutsko on youtube for a while before whatever network it was that he was producing for went under. probably machinima. i mainly knew him because of his limp bizkit parody which is funny bc i wasn't even listening to actual limp bizkit at the time. anyway i really like his voice and i'm actually glad that he's still finding success these days

Naughty By Nature - O.P.P.: as i've referenced, i've been rewatching robbydude's paper mario vods, which are very good, and in one of the early ones robby references this song and it made me look it up. and then i made this post and it was underrated. i don't really have anything else to say it's just a good classic rap song

Slipknot - Left Behind: putting this here as more of a landmark to represent that i've been listening to iowa (the album this is from) a lot in general. i've had slipknot on the brain recently more than usual (not for any reason of course. winks) and reminded myself of why everyone loves iowa so much. it's so fucking brutal and biting... nu metal <3

Busta Rhymes - Woo Hah!!: honestly another one where it's like yeah idk this is just a classic what do you want me to say. busta's a legend and this song is legendary and he tears it up and it's good

Sweet Trip - Tekka: probably the most direct of the violet finds from this month (hi violet :3) i had never listened to sweet trip before but tekka instantly grabbed me... it's all crunchy and stuttery and has yummy synths. i especially love how it just fucking breaks down in the second half it's like that machine that's breaking down and sweating and sputtering it's almost sexual. you know

Ike & Tina Turner - I'll Never Need More Than This: so i've been on my phil spector bullshit, as you might have guessed, so i was revisiting some of his tracks to just kinda take it all in. as always, it. well it sounds really fucking good, and tina turner turned in a killer performance as always. i love. sound :)

Machine Girl - Scroll of Sorrow: it's really rather exciting. see for those in the know (which is all of you bc there's only two or three people reading this), you're aware that my mutual (hi again :3) had posted about how, at the live show, the vocalist of machine girl got up real near the crowd (including said mutual) during scroll of sorrow. as such, i was listening out for the song at my own show and well chat i'll tell you i was not able to recognize it :-) but there was one point where they got up on the railing above the pit and were singing from up there, and while it wasn't like exceptionally close to where we were at, it was still cool bc it was like hey! that's like the thing! that i heard about! :) amd anyway i like the song

Sonic The Hedgehog - His World: itsa banger... i actually heard the penny parker cover of this song from the sonic fandub way before ever hearing the original so even now i still mix up the lyrics but it's fine. i've actually never played a mainline sonic game or any video game or any media at all but i like the music

Strapping Young Lad - Oh My Fucking God: i straight up didn't know that strapping young lad was a devin townsend thing, not that i've listened to any of his other stuff. this song's weird and loud and stupid and i like it

Rae Sremmurd - No Flex Zone: okay now. based on this one and the previous song, can anyone guess what semi-popular artist playlist i was listening to this month? i tried to listen to a lot more rap this month, because i wish to learn more about this beautiful world. no flex zone has been my first exposure to rae sremmurd and it was a good one, although i like one of the guys way better than the other one. slim jxmmi i like him better

glass beach - classic j dies and goes to hell part 1: i didn't really "get" glass beach for a while, i thought they were alright, but this month they started to click (once again with some help - check out this post teehee). they're cute, earnest, and high-energy; i have to kinda be in the mood but i can get into it 👍 i've also seen the band described as sort of a modern emo type deal and while i don't yet know if i agree or disagree with that it compels me

NLE Choppa - Final Warning: straight up this dude is weird and has a weird hit on the charts rn but bc of that i was like "ok let's see what he was like before his big image change" and ended up liking some of that stuff. he's so energetic and it really gets you pumped up, which is def what i'm looking for in this type of thing. he's got some interesting lines, too. it almost makes me wish he hadn't changed at all - i feel like i missed out lol

Vanilla Ice - Prozac: okay look i try not to vanillapost too much but like i'm a little bit insane about vanilla ice. i'm obsessed with his career path and it is not uncommon for me to just sit and think about it for an hour or more. i really enjoy his nu metal stuff, at least the earlier portions of it, and this is a top-tier track from that era. real headbanger. Okay, so @forceofneature asked me to say more on this, and you know me, I always have more thoughts psaksokaoskas (today is the day i get canceled and thrown out of the fam sksoksoskso)

Okay, something I've been thinking about since we started getting 5sos5 songs, in this context I will count 2011 as a 5sos5 song and I will not include easy for you to say, is that they work together without sounding alike. 2011 gives you a different vibe from complete mess that gives you a different vibe from take my hand that gives you a different vibe from me myself & i that gives you a different vibe from blender. BUT, you can link them all to their past sound. Please keep in mind I'm ignoring lyrics here lol.

Like Michael says live, 2011 is their return to the pop-punk sound, and 2011 is a song that I can picture 2014 cutout t-shirts, skinny jeans, flannels and instruments hanging way too low sos playing, and the song has this simple 4 chords structure (it's actually 3 but you're playing G twice and that's a different conversation) that builds and builds, until you get to the outro where they slow down and them come back with full force, and I think that's a really 5sos way of structuring a song and like you can group that with slsp, castaway like they are doing live, but if you ignore the genre and focus on the way the sound is being delivered to us you can put that song with like good girls, kiss me kiss me, 18, tomorrow never dies, greenlight, over and out, permanent vacation, fly away, safety pin, catch 22, want you back, moving along, if wall could talk, babylon, more, no shame, easier, and sure some make more sense together than others, like 5sos please put over and out in the 15 minutes of pop punk please, but want you back came on after 2011 and I was like 🤔🤔🤔🤔 (Spotify playlist with the songs cuz I'm extra)

Complete Mess is the wildcard in the new songs for me, but when you think about the structure, again, it makes sense cuz you have a song that's more chill, one of them singing one verse, someone else singing the other one, a bridge that someone else is singing that actually repeats another bit of the song and drop going back to the chorus with all of them, the first song that comes to mind is close as strangers, but like, beside you, catch fire, san francisco, story of another us, why wont you love me, heartache on the big screen, wherever you are, gotta get out, the only reason, broken pieces. Luke is the only one singing in calm but i kinda wanna say lonely heart too. (playlist)

Take my hand its a song that builds, builds, builds and dropkicks you in the face when it drops you at brigdeland. My first thought is never be, but like, everything i didn't say, long way home, jet black heart, the girl who cried wolf, (this one even more with the joshua tree version, sorry it got leaked kings) broken home. Its hard for me to group it with newer songs aka yb and calm, but like i kinda wanna say ghost of you and not in the same way. (Playlist)

Me myself & I. Fascinating song really, read this for more cuz @kindahoping4forever explained the way this song is structured really well. I know A LOT of people got confused as to why Ashton said this song was sgfg, but like, this song is very sgfg meets traditional pop. Its 4 chords, a simple strumming, a cool beat, it makes me think vapor, airplanes, waste the night, catch 22 again, better man, disconnected, old me. (playlist)

For me blender is the easiest to place around other songs, for many different reason, but probably because this is the 5sos side i gravitate towards regularly. Gotta love 5sos ability to build a song around the bass. If your first thought after listening to this song wasn't talk fast i don't trust you /j soskapsksoak but come on, it's talk fast big sister for sure, it also gives not in the same way, kill my time, english love affair, thin white lies, hey everybody (sorry to everyone that hates this song but the bass on it alone makes it worth it ksoajsosksoak), valentine, moving along, girls talk boys, teeth. Honestly, I am HYPED for 5sos5 cuz it's been a ride and it does look like it's gonna be sounding really 5sos if you know what I mean.

I just answered 13 in way too much detail here but also forgot to mention that my top three playlist-able songs for fic writing purposes of all time, and across all fandoms, are:

The Promise, originally by When In Rome but I also really like this version by Samia. Fade into You, originally by Mazzy Star but I also love this version by Blonde Maze. And Just Like Honey, originally by the Jesus and Mary Chain but also this version by Headless Heroes and this version by Annie.

Like if you want to sum up what one of my fics is about, it's all right there. We've got friends to lovers, dawning realisation, and a sort of baffled by feelings thing. That's it. That's the fic lol. This is a tangent, but Terry Hall died recently and that reminded me what a huge influence he was on me as a writer. His lyrics just have a way of cutting to the chase of romance and being so open about the hopeful/hopelessness dichotomy of falling in love. Some of my fave lyrics are Sense 'I'm standing high on tiptoes looking over fences, waiting for somebody like you to kiss me senseless.' Thinking of You 'Who knows, maybe tomorrow, we can share each other's sorrow, and compare our graveside manner as we wave our lonely banners.' And Forever J 'Uncertain, coy, and hard to please, she kisses me through gritted teeth, but when I'm weak, she whispers dreams.' Pretty much everything I want to do in fic is built on my love of Terry Hall's words.

18. Do you enjoy research? Which fic of yours required the most research?

I do now, although it wasn't always so. A Matter of Time is probably the most research I've ever done, because it's set in 1927 and heavily features clockmaking and clock repair as a plot. So I gave myself a crash course in the history of clocks, the different type of clocks available at the time, how to take them apart, and how to repair them. I like to think it enriched the fic not to fudge the details. All the clocks in it are real, apart from the one right at the end, which is a sort of amalgam of two different clocks because I couldn't find one single clock that was whimsical enough and tricky enough to repair for what I wanted it to do in the narrative. I also did a lot of research for general historical accuracy, including at one point looking up whether drainpipes existed in 1927 for a one line, throwaway joke.

57. How conscious are you about including symbolism or foreshadowing in your fics?

It depends on the fic tbh. I've written a few fics like Learning to Speak the Language of Flowers where the symbolism is very much key to the fic itself (literally all the plants and flowers mentioned in the fic Mean Something) and in my current Fate fic, there's a bit of foreshadowing because it's just that sort of fic. There's a lot of runes chat and fortune telling with cards plays a part in it, so there's a little dusting of foreshadowing because it sits well thematically I think. Mostly I do that sort of thing for myself, though, and if anyone else picks up on it it's a bonus. I think a fic should be readable and enjoyable without it.

68. Are there any fics that influenced you to write the way you do?

So many. Two of my all time faves are Derryere's RPF of Doom (which is no longer available) and Minor Hue's The Good Times Are Killing Me (which you need an LJ to view but that link is to podfic of it). They both have lines I think about all the time and a real sense of rawness to them, they capture what desire and confusion and heartbreak feels like in a way that's genuine and fresh. I'm also a huge fan of Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nmn, which is genuinely one of the best things I've ever read. It is quietly devastating in a way you see coming from the first chapter, and yet are still unprepared for when what you knew was going to happen happens. Idk if they influenced me so much as inspired me. Reading them was like... yes, this is what I'm trying to do, this is the bar to aim for.

This song primarily reminds me of Charlie because it reminds me of her very optimistic attitude. She is the type to take anything bad in her life (or someone else's) and find a way to make it positive. She is determined to always find a positive outlook, no matter what.

Confident - Demi Lovato

This song reminds me of Charlie because she has what I like to call Stupid Confidence lol. Even if she's unsure about something, she sure as fuck isn't going to let anyone else know that. Even when she should be weary, Charlie builds herself up with as much confidence as needed to get through whatever challenges she is facing.

I Dare You - Bea Miller

This song reminds me of Charlie finding her self worth and determination. Makes me think of her being fed up with being silenced by her parents, and belittled by everyone in Hell. She is strong, powerful and valuable. She doesn't have to prove it to anyone, but she can prove it if provoked enough. She will not be pushed around or devalued by anyone.

homecoming queen? - Kelsea Ballerini (Charlie @ Helsa)

So. Charlie. And. Helsa. So much. I feel as though Charlie really did (and still sorta does) truly care about Helsa. But as they grew older, Helsa became more popular and Charlie became an easy target for blatant bullying due to her different views. However being as close as their families were, Charlie had an idea of the things Helsa hid behind closed doors. She would have given anything to get Helsa to open up to her and show her what a true friendship could be, but alas, it didn't pan out that way. They essentially both gave up on each other and decided it was easier to hate each other than work through their differences. However, that doesn't stop Charlie from still secretly caring about and wishing the best for Helsa behind closed doors. She does truly hope Helsa has someone to lean on, even if it's not her.

Let You Down - NF (Charlie @ Lucifer)

This song is a very accurate depiction of how I view the relationship between Charlie and Lucifer. She loves her father, she really does. However she is exhausted by the constant disappointment. No matter what she does, she will never be good enough for him. She has the capability to make him proud, but she would have to sacrifice who she is in order to achieve that, and that is not something she is willing to do.

Redemption - Besomorph, Coopex, RIELL (Angel @ Charlie)

This song is basically how I expect Angel and Charlie's relationship to play out over the course of the show. Charlie sees all the good that Angel has in him, and is determined to get him to see it as well. Angel does not. He's watching Charlie give everything she has to him to help him, and it's breaking him because he doesn't believe he can be changed for the better. He cares about her, truly. But he also believes he (as well as everyone else in Hell) are a lost cause and she shouldn't be wasting her energy on him.

Oh cool!!! I feel like I should maybe read about your characters if Imma keep doing this, but honestly I like consuming this content by just slowly building a story based on this ask game. Character development is my favourite part of writing personally <3

And I forgot if this is similar to a question already on there or not, but if your character made a playlist, what would it be called and what are the first three songs on it (If they're the type of person to make 500 billion playlists which one would they listen to the most often)? This is very random, but I always will hear songs and be like "oh so-and-so would so listen to this" and I have learned the hard way that your music taste tells a lot about you (if you ever get mysterious kind messages from your friends for no apparent reason there is a 63% chance that they found your Spotify or whatever and are concerned for your mental health)

Nic has lost so much in her life, she tries very hard to look after herself first. She had to adapt, especially after she lost her parents. She does grow very close to the team throughout the story, though, and by the end, they are literally the only six people on Earth that she would put before herself. They are the first people who looked after her, helped her, and genuinely didn't want anything in return when she had nowhere else to go. It took some time, but they won her over eventually.

And I love music headcanons! So for your second question:

What would the title of your character's playlist be? First three songs on it?

I think that Kay would have 8 million playlists for all of her different moods and obsessions. Her most listened to one would be something like "I have no idea what I want to listen to, but everything on here is a bop"

Untitled Peter Parker Headcannon

Peter Parker(TH) x Stark!Reader , A smidge of Peter Parker(AG) x Stark!Reader

(written while listening to pov: you are in love with peter parker and loves [insert name] playlist)

Mainly head cannons with some normal kinda writing (sorry I’m working on a pretty big fic - for me lol).

Please feel free to give name suggestions for this fic either in comments or PM (I don't mind). I really have no idea where to start with it.

NO WAY HOME SPOILERS

Summary: You get pulled into Spiderman’s fight because of his proximity to your dad. Needless to say you’re not very happy about it but you feel sorry for him so you decide to help.

Genre: lots of angst, and lots of fluff, enemies to lovers type trope

So sorry in advance some bits are gonna end up being super generic because I really don’t remember everything in detail.

Your woken up by pounding on your door and Pepper yelling, confused you get up and find that several FBI agents have barged into your home

You yell demanding to know when they have entered your building and they have no right to do so under the law. They show you a warrant and you find out it to search your house for tech that was involved in the London incident

When they find nothing you’re brought in for questioning - “don’t you want to lawyer up?” the policeman asks “I’m happy to represent myself considering I’ve been accepted by the state bar” you smiled as his jaw dropped

After questioning you were essentially free. The law had nothing on you and could no longer hold you. Seeing as they hadn’t found the tech that linked to the incident and Edith was in the hand of the spiderling (in this case derogatory) so your legal troubles were over and luckily for you your dad’s legacy also saved you from the court of public opinion

Pepper was relieved but nonetheless a little worried for the spiderling, you on the other hand didn’t particularly like your dad's pet project so much so that you never bothered to learn his name. Anytime Spiderman was mentioned in the news you tuned out. Thank God for Netflix

Everything was peaceful for the next couple months. You worked on your suit and improved all your dad's tech as well as looking after Morgan. You even taught her some tricks but only if she wanted to. Just because she’s a Stark doesn’t mean she has to carry the family legacy.

You were making some adjustments to your Nano suit that morning. You always wanted it to change colour and you finally figured out how. While the original was your dad's colour you wanted it to be a bit more you. You kept the small details red but everything else was black. While you were testing the colours of the mask watching them change from black to red to purple you heard your ringtone sound next to you. You looked down at the caller ID and picked up with some hesitation.

“Good morning Doctor Strange, what brought you to call me so early?” you answered.

“It’s the spider. He kept changing my spell and now a bunch of bad guys from different universes have shown up,” you had to physically stop yourself from screaming when you heard that the multiverse was real. String theory, the many world interpretation, everything was real! “I need you to help him catch them. I don’t think he and his little trio will be able to handle it.” He continued to explain the rest of his plan.

“What makes you think I have what it takes?” you replied still a little confused as to why you.

“Y/N Stark, if you're anything like your father I know you're more than up for the task. His legacy is passed on through you.” he stated with conviction. Your heart dropped. There it was again your father’s legacy, the one that now hung over your head like the executioner's axe. The Stark throne and all it’s troubles were forever passed onto you.

“Fine, I’ll go find him, and then you can press your anti-doomsday box and we can go back to normal

When you get to where the spiderling is you tell him how his antics dragged you into his mess and that now you have no choice but to help him fix it.

You and Spiderman capture all of them and Strange is just about to press the button the spider webbed him and ran off with the box.

You and his friends MJ and Ned from what you could remember stood there confused and a little panicked. You turned towards the equally confused bad guys trying to wrack your brain thinking ‘what would dad do?’. When you couldn’t come to a conclusion, tears picked your eyes and you started to cry.

When the spider walked back in holding the box you quickly whipped your tears forgetting the voices inside your head

When the spider revealed his plan you couldn’t help but be baffled. These were the bad guys and he what? Wanted to cure them just because they die back in their world? Oh boo hoo, everyone dies and it’s people like them that survive it’s time for their comeuppance you thought.

Before you were able to voice your concerns the spider said “and you Y/N you’re coming with me.” You quickly ignored the slight flutter of your heart when you heard him call your name.

While in Happy’s compound you saw the Spider’s plan come to fruition as he worked on the fabricator. Suddenly you were reminded of your dad. Peter was being everything he raised you to be while you shunned the plan. If only he could see you now you let out a scoff.

Quickly you set aside your feelings and helped Peter out

“So Doc Oc’s arms are controlled by an AI that could invade his brain at any given moment?” you double checked you had heard everything correctly.

“Yeah, all we need to do is create a new chip to replace the fried one,” He replied.

“That’s easy and I can do you one better. You get started on Electro’s I’ll finish up here.” told him and he gave you the brightest smile making you smile as you turned around to the fabricator loading it up with some cutlery that you ‘borrowed’ from Happy. You left a note saying you’d get him new ones so you were sure it would be fine. You put in the data needed for your dad's AI program. The same one he used to fortify his suit and your prototype one against any attack from Voltron. This would ensure Oc’s tentacles would never take over and that nothing would be able to control them.

You walked into the room and announced you’d finished holding the small glowing orb in your hand for everyone to see. Everyone had the same expression on their faces aside from Osborne. His expression was clouded and almost unreadable. Almost as if he wasn’t quite there. Nonetheless you and Spiderman walked up to Oc who was tossing his head side to side yelling about how he won’t accept anything and he doesn’t need two children messing around with his circuitry.

“Oh for Pete’s sake shut up and hold still,” you shout pushing his head forward allowing you access to the back of his neck. You placed the orb against the metal and it quickly dissolved into a blue chip that fit perfectly where the old one used to be. His head pulled out of the palm of your hand and you got scared that you’d killed him. You were relieved when his head shot up and he had a grin on his face.

He was in control again and thanked both you and Spidey profusely giving back the Nano tech that formed the Iron Spider suit.

As the spider was finishing up Electro's cure. You kept a firm eye on Osborne. His expression still clouded but there was something maniacal about him. You stepped over to the Spider and whispered in his ear “I think the Green Goblin is about to come out and play. Keep an eye out.”

When the Spider froze you realised you were right. He’d sensed the danger emanating from Osborne and your suspicions were confirmed. You dived for him but he dogged stabbing you with the knife attached to his gauntlet.

Everything else flew by you so fast you could barely register it all. The adrenaline kicked in and you went on auto pilot trying to fight off anyone you could to survive.

You got out onto the street and ripped off part of your shirt tying it around your stomach to stop it bleeding more than it already had.

When you saw the Green Goblin on his glider you suited up once again ready to take him on. He however, had other plans, throwing his grenade towards the Spider and his aunt. You heard him shout and you ran towards the explosion.

When you saw his aunt stumbling you knew what was about to happen. Your heart broke for the Spider but when you heard police sirens you suddenly had other priorities

“Spider! We have to go. Now!” you were kneeling over his aunt’s body crying and shaking his head. Your heart shattered to pieces and you promised yourself that you would do anything in your power to ensure he never cried like that again.

You pulled him away repeating that you're sorry over and over again.

When MJ and Ned came to find their friend you were relieved. Despite knowing what it’s like to lose your closest family you felt unequipped and unable to help him. Especially after he yelled at you when you mentioned your dad, saying that you’ve still got family and he’s now got no one.

To your surprise they also appeared with two other Spider men in toe who managed to talk your world’s Spider down off the metaphorical ledge.

While in the lab everyone was getting on with finding cures for each villain. You focused on sandman’s when the tall spider with fluffy slightly quaffed hair came over to you.

“I didn’t wanna say this earlier I think it might have been a bit too much but in my world there’s basically an exact version of you but without the suit,” he laughed a little and you with him.

“Who was she to you?” you enquired.

“She- well, she was my girlfriend. The one I couldn’t save. Now I know you’re not her but you sound and act the same and I wanted to say that, it’s really good to see you again. Not scared, falling you but you.” he smiled a little painfully. You gave him a small smile back and mumbled you're welcome before the both of you got back to work. The Spider overheard the whole exchange and his heart skipped a small barely noticeable beat.

During the battle at the Statue of Liberty you thought it was over when Elector you and the other Spiders captive even worse when you saw Oc with a maniacally smirk on his face. However, very quickly you were to be proven wrong. When he used your cure on Elector freeing all three of you.

He turned around to you and said “I believe this belongs to you young lady. Fighting recompense for the one who saved my life.” , “yeah, I guess we can call it even” the both of you chuckled.

Later panicked you flew over to the spiderling with the other Spiders to try and stop him from making a big mistake. “Don’t do this! Don’t let the hate consume you. You heard the other yous when they got their revenge they got bitter. It was a miserable existence. It is a miserable existence. I know exactly how you feel. I went with everyone else to find Thanos. I was there and I had a hand in killing him. It never brought me peace and neither will this.”

You saw him hesitate and you hoped that he would put down the glider but instead he rose it higher above his head ready to strike. The other Spider got in front of it and stopped it looking him in the eye. It looked like they were having a mental conversation just the two of them and that’s when the spiderling put the glider down

Sadly before there was time to celebrate the Spider was stabbed by the Green Goblin and the spiderling reached for something and stabbed Osborne in his neck. You cried out running towards him trying to stop him but you were caught by the quaffed hair spider. The look he gave you told you everything. It was the antidote.

When it was all over the spiderling informed the others that they would be going home soon.

“It was really nice to meet you,” you remarked to the quaffed spider.

“You too,” he replied smiling. You bit your lip gathering your courage. You weren’t really sure why you decided to do it but there was not turning back now you thought as you crashed your lips onto his. The spiderling watched on with surprise and a small pang of jealousy as your lips moved against him.

When the two of you broke the kiss you breathed out trying to catch your breath he said “now I can really tell the difference,” at which you chuckled. “Thank you though. That was nice.”

The spiderling hugged it out with the other spiders and you both went to MJ and Ned. You remarked how brave they were allowing the Spider to say his goodbyes

He then turned to you, “we made a pretty good team in the end didn’t we? It's a shame that’s coming to an end.” He nodded his head and gave you a firm handshake saying “maybe in another life.” and he swung off.

The next morning you woke up as normal. Made breakfast for Morgan and Pepper and you all sat down on the couch watching the news.

As usual the daily bugle appeared making you roll your eyes. You never liked J. Jonah Jamerson.

When he spoke about Spiderman you smiled remembering the adventure of yesterday. You gasped when you realised you still remembered.

Immediately you run outside and walk around the whole of Queens trying to find him when you remember you don’t actually know him and anyone one other than Spiderman

When you got back home you dogged all the questions from Pepper and when into your room

You got one of your old phones hooking it up to your laptop to try and tap the police frequency

For weeks you’d sneak out at night hoping that at one of the crime scenes you’d find Spiderman

However, you came up short for weeks and decided to take matters into your own hands.

You camped out of rooftops with a proper creep kit. You felt more than a little strange. ‘Guess this is what perverts do’ you thought grimacing. You took out your binoculars and some crisps and started looking. This was a pretty crime ridden area hopefully the police would pick up on your tip. You’d seen a gang of weapons dealers operating in the area.

While waiting you contemplated what the spider must feel like right now. He’d lost his aunt and everyone he ever cared about has forgotten him completely. Your heart broke. You had no idea what you would do if Pepper and Morgan forgot you ever existed.

You followed a tall bearded man with your binoculars watching him grab two guns from the back of his van. You knew these weren’t normal weapons, they were alien, something the cops wouldn’t be able to handle on their own. You prayed your gamble would pay off.

You heard the wailing of sirens in the distance coming closer towards where the deal was taking place. The closer the sound got the less hope you had for Spiderman showing up. Suddenly something blurred in your line of vision. You took the binoculars off and used your camera to zoom in on what was going on. You saw the spider man swinging and punching his way through a horde of weapons dealers before webbing them all up and leaving them for the police. You sat there in awe. So much so that you barely had time to pack up your creep kit and follow Spidey.

When he was just out of sight you fired up your suit and flew after him. You did not expect him to be this quick

When you were both on the ground you made sure to keep well back so that his Spidey sense wouldn’t alert him to your presence.

You saw him walk into a small bare apartment with hardly anything in it.

You waited a while before you knocked on the door

When he opened it his jaw dropped, “Hello Spiderman. Good to see you again” you smiled but he was still shocked.

Stuttering he invited you in and then handed you a hot chocolate

The two of you sat on the floor with your backs facing the wall. You explained that the reason you remembered him and everything that happened was probably because you only ever knew him as Spiderman

“Yeah about that. As soon as I heard Spiderman I turned off the news. I didn’t particularly like you” he looked down sadly and apologised.

Soon the conversation went sour and an awkward silence settled and you realised that it’s not really a relief for him having you around. You know him so little you don’t even know his real name.

“Look, I know I’m not MJ or Ned, but I found you because it seemed like you needed a friend. No one should have to be alone.”

“I appreciate it Y/N I’m glad I’ve made a new friend”

“Seeing as we're friends now, maybe you could tell me your name?”

“Peter Parker” , “It’s nice to finally meet you. Peter Parker”

From that point onwards the two of you patrolled the city together. You used your radio (the one you used to find him) because it was an untraceable one without a sim card whereas Peter actually used his in his day to day life.

You told him that you could support him in anyway he needed but he always refused saying it time for him to make it on his own

This led to your very first argument: you’d brought a couch because he was constantly sitting on the floor watching the TV and you felt bad. When Peter saw it he yelled at you saying he could have saved up and he doesn’t need another Stark financing him. You yelled back that he never seemed to complain when your dad made him all of his suits and ran out of the apartment. Later he called you to apologise for yelling at you and that you had a point. You apologise as well not just for yelling but also for getting the sofa without his permission.

At which point you guys installed some ground rules. Just because you had money to spend didn’t mean you had to spend it and certainly not on Peter but in the even that he was struggling you were allowed to help him just until he was able to get back on his feet again

For the most part Peter did really well balancing Spidey work, normal work and studies and with the tiniest bit of help from you his shoe box apartment actually started to look like a home

You guys did everything together

You also spent a decent amount of time round his sometimes staying over a sleeping on the couch especially after long patrols

Pepper would constantly tease you saying there had to be a boy behind your frequent absences from the home but you really couldn’t admit that that was true. Saying it out loud would make all your feelings real

“Well, at the very least I hope you two are using protection, I don’t want you becoming like Tony anytime soon, not while you're under my roof.” You blushed profusely at the word that came out of her mouth, stuttering in refute only making Pepper laugh more.

At one point you invited Peter over to prove to Pepper that he was nothing more than a good friend forgetting how weird it would be for him because he already knew Pepper

This did not quell Pepper’s relentless pursuit only fuelled it, before long Morgan started joining in on it too

One patrol was especially difficult. The two of you would usually get beat and bruised while out on patrol and then tend to each other’s wounds but this one was truly bad. You’d ended up stabbed in the leg with a knife and as a result Peter had to haul you off to his apartment. He suggested going to hospital but you yelled at him. Pepper was your emergency contact and she already worried about you enough and if she found out you would be grounded and your chances of even living up to your father’s legacy let alone surpassing it were shot. [Now for scientific reasons I want everyone to imagine the scene in b99 when Captain Holt has to give himself stitches while talking Jake through the pain). Instead you told him to get the first aid kit. You tried to talk him through stitching up your wound but it didn’t work so you talked him through while stitching yourself up.

After you had a slight limp one which you were relentlessly teased for by Pepper

“Looks like you had a very good night with your special friend. Is he the reason you're limping?” you panicked and agreed. Pepper nearly choked on her drink and you started spitting out the most elaborate story about how you guys did it but you have no idea what it means and ran to your room.

Later you went by Peter’s again and told him exactly what happened

His mind was muddled and his heart even more so. A small part of him leaped for joy at the thought of sleeping with you but the other yelled at it saying MJ was who he needed to be with no you. MJ. Without thinking he blurted out “What, why would you say that? What happens if MJ finds out?!”

Peter explained that he’s been seeing MJ for a couple weeks now and once she remembered everything they decided to pick up where they left off. Your heart shattered by your face smiled.

You told him that’s fantastic and that he should have told you sooner. You told him you were really glad his friends could remember him and that you can’t wait to reintroduce yourself to the both of them.

You cried your eyes out as soon as you got home. You knew this would probably happen and you knew you set yourself up for failure. Falling for Peter was such a big mistake and you knew it but your idiot ass did it anyway

From that point your life was hell

Peter wanted to carry on being friends and wanted you to be friends with MJ and Ned which was really nice of him and it hurt you even more than he could realise

He’d invite you to all their get togethers and you got along with them, you actually really liked them and could see why Peter was so sad to have to let them go

You felt like the third wheel all the time and unlike Ned you weren’t oblivious to it. It was funny to see it go down until you remembered all your feelings for Peter

Patrols were cut short, you didn’t want to spend more time with Peter than you had to. That meant no more staying round his. You’d only stay longer if he was seriously hurt and needed medical attention.

Pepper got worried when she started seeing you around the house more. If that boy had done anything to hurt you she would personally hunt him down

When Pepper asked what’s wrong you couldn’t hold it back anymore. You told her everything. That Peter was Spiderman how you really liked him but you knew he’d do everything to make sure MJ got her memories back and how they’ve now started over and how fucking much it hurt.

Pepper had a small flash of memory where she remembered who Peter was; it just made her more upset for you. She remembered how much of a nice lad he was and still is understanding how much that hurt you

All she could do was sit with you on your bed holding you in her arms. She really wished she could take away all your pain and knock some sense into Peter but she also knew how it wasn’t his fault. Not entirely anyway and neither was it yours. Life just happened sometimes

You looked at her and just said “thanks mum” smiling. Pepper’s heart swelled; she never thought you’d end up calling her mum.

Somehow letting it all out made you feel so much more relieved and you felt like you could finally process all of these feelings

You walked into Peter’s apartment ready to start anew, sure it hurt that him and MJ were together but with time patience and a tiny little bit of luck you’d be able to get over that

When you barged into the apartment expecting business as usual you were surprised to see Peter on the couch crying

You froze in place not quite knowing what to do. This is only the second time he broke down in front of you and the first time his friends bailed you out.

You took a deep breathe and sat next to him asking what happened

He looked at you with swollen eyes and spoke with a hoarse throat. When you heard what he said it all made sense. Him and MJ had broken up.

A small part of you leaped with joy, you could finally take her place, all Peter’s love and attention would be on you. You quickly silenced that part of your brain because that’s not what he needed right now.

Right now he needed a friend

You took him into your arms the same way your mum did last night and just held him as he cried into your shoulder

The next couple days were lonely for the both of you Peter because he lost the girl he loved and you because you’d lost Peter. You covered patrols on your own after tucking him into his bed after another night of crying

You did everything in your power to make things better. Every day you’d bring him his favourite from Delmar's along with some coffee. You'd stay with him until you needed to be somewhere else. You’d put on a movie and make him some lunch, getting him to eat it with you so that you’d know he ate.

One night Peter got ready for Patrol with you

“Peter, what are you doing?” you asked

“I’m coming with you.”

“Are you sure, just yesterday you refused to move from the sofa because there was no point if MJ wasn’t around” he winced when you said the name.

“Yes it’s time for me to move on.”

The patrol went strangely smoothly and Peter came back smiling and raving about the whole fight

It felt good to have the old Peter back but the sudden mood change felt strange to you

Peter was over the moon, just like he thought the feeling of being useful made him feel a lot better not to mention the fact that he had you by his side

Over the past few weeks as you ran circles around him trying to help him all he could think about were the words MJ said to him when they broke up ‘you’ve moved on Peter.’ He had no clue what MJ could have been referring to but seeing you everyday and his heartbeat picking up every time you walked over to him. It made more sense to him everyday. Out of respect for MJ he kept those feelings under wraps for a few days but by tonight he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He was desperate to get out there and fight crime with you again.

When you left for your house Peter got out a sewing machine and some blue fabric. It was time for a change.

You walked in the next morning with coffee and Delmar’s Peter might be feeling better after fighting but you’d rather be safe than sorry

You saw him asleep at his desk with a sewing machine in front of him. You saw a red and blue suit finished next to him. It was a sharp contrast from the previous black but it would suit him just the same.

You smiled and gently woke him up eh smiled in return taking the cup of coffee from you and thanking you

Things basically returned to normal for the two of you with the slight difference that Peter was now a lot more touchy than previously

You didn’t complain, of course it was nice having his arm on yours when he really wanted you to pay attention to something or when you guys were watching a movie and he’d wrap his arm around your shoulder. That’s not mentioning the kiss his placed on your cheek after he patched you up for what was quite possibly the hundredth time by now

Peter suddenly longed to be close to you in any way possible and he noticed that you weren’t stopping him. Your heartbeat just sped up every time he got close to you and when he placed that chaste kiss on your cheek it might as well have been beating out of your rib cage. It was music to his ears

He couldn’t believe it took him so long to notice he actually truly liked you. Sure at first he thought you were a bit arrogant and self-righteous but Tony was like that too and Peter admired that about Tony so why not you. The way you fought with him was majestic, almost like you were trained by the black widow herself and to be honest you probably were

That’s not mentioning how kind you were to him when you came to find him and then again when he and MJ broke up. You were amazing and he kicked himself for not realising it sooner

When you were out on patrol one night you caught a group of generic bad guys and when you were holding them waiting to hand them off to the police one looked at the two of you and asked if you were a couple. The both of you were real confused but quickly denied it thanking the heavens above that you were wearing masks

When you got back to Peter’s apartment apparently he thought that because it was all over the news. For some reason every gossip column and tabloid believed you two were a couple

“As if we’d be a couple right? That would never happen in a million years�� you tried laughing it off knowing full well that what you said was true. Peter didn’t like you as anything more than a friend and at this point that’s all you needed. If it was the difference between telling him you liked him with him then being awkward around you and not telling him but keeping a strong friendship you would always without hesitation choose the latter.

Peter on the other hand had had enough. Sure it was fun knowing you liked him and just living with that knowledge contentedly but it was getting to the point where it frustrated Peter that you weren’t picking up on the signal he was so clearly leaving for you. The small touches, the kisses on the cheek, cuddling you while watching a movie. He was dropping all these small hints and you were still ‘just friends’. Maybe this rumour was the universe telling Peter to change that.

One summer evening he invited you over way before patrol was meant to start. For one it was still night outside.

When you walked in your saw the table all laid out with decorations and food. You were confused to say the least

Sensing your confusion Peter announced, “It’s for our one year anniversary.”

“One year anniversary?” you questioned.

“Yeah it’s been a year since you found me and we became partners in fighting crime. Ya know Spidey and the Stark.”

“I don’t think anyone calls us that Peter,” you said as you sat down.

It was a really nice little dinner Peter even cooked everything himself and it was all surprisingly delicious.

At the end of it Peter’s facial expression seemed to get serious and he looked you directly in the eye

You swallowed the last of your drink

Peter then spoke. “Y/N, you’re awesome, like really awesome.” you continued staring at him confused and not sure where he was going with this. “We’ve been friends for a full year now and I really hoped that we could be something more. Recently I have been doing some self-reflection and I’ve realised that I really like you. More than a friend would like you. I’ve tried leaving subtle hints but you just didn’t seem to be picking up on them in the way I hoped you would so you leave me no choice but to make a fancy dinner and ask you to be my partner in our non-superhero lives. Y/N, will you go out with me?”

You just sat in your seat, eyes wide. He? Liked you all this time?

At this point Peter started panicking a little, you weren’t saying anything had he misread all of those signs maybe your heart was beating fast because you were scared of him not because you liked him. Oh my god he had made such a big mistake.

You took a deep breath steadying your nerves and told him, “Peter. I really like you too and I would love to go out with you.”

Peter let out a huge yelp in celebration, picking you up off your chair and twirling you around before crashing his lips onto yours.

“Well at least this can be our proper anniversary now” you remarked and Peter just looked at you confused. “I’m pretty sure it was winter when I started searching for you.”

A/N: holy shit, this is the end!!! i had so much fun writing this little series, but it wouldn't have been the same without all of you reading, so seriously thank you! now, if anyone on the story taglist would like to be moved to my general spencer reid taglist just let me know, other than that i hope you enjoy this very last chapter!

Ever since you were little, you dreamt of your wedding day.

The elegant white dress you would wear, the way you’d style your hair, how your dream venue would look, the perfect guest list, the flowers, the track list, and of course, your husband to be.

You imagined he’d be handsome, a prince to accompany your dream of becoming a princess. You imagined he’d be smart, trustworthy, courageous, and caring. You imagined he’d be funny, make you laugh even when you didn’t want to smile. You imagined he’d be a great listener and have a heart of gold. And you imagined he would always put you first, no matter what.

Dr. Spencer Reid, your husband, was everything you imagined and so much more.

“I believe it was Paulo Coelho who once said, Love is just a word. Until someone comes along and gives it meaning.” All eyes were on Rossi, who with a glass of champagne in the air was delivering a speech he swore he hadn't prepared prior to this moment, “Now, when Y/N and Spencer broke the news and told the team they were finally tying the knot, I personally couldn't have been more thrilled.”

Everyone nodded along to his words as he continued, “And I think I speak for everyone gathered here today when I say these two are made for each other.”

Rossi glanced between the tables until his gaze finally landed on you and the brunette doctor beside you. “To the bride and groom. Cheers!”

“Cheers!” The gathered crowd erupted simultaneously, and what followed was the loud clinking of glasses.

You turned to face Spencer. The hazel-eyed man was already looking at you, a warm smile circling his lips.

“Cheers, my husband.” You lifted your champagne flute a little higher, as he chuckled lightly before following suit, “Cheers, my wife.” Without breaking eye contact, the two of you chinked your glasses together and took a sip of the bubbling liquid.

The evening slowly turned into night. Dozens of tiny fairy lights illuminated the venue, accompanied by the shimmering hue of the disco ball in the middle of the dance floor. Not a single body was sitting down. Everyone swayed to the music, rejoicing in the love which was so clearly floating in the air.

Spencer had his arms wrapped around you, the palms of his hands resting on your lower back. Your arms were around his neck, tips of your fingers tangling in the ends of his soft curls.

The song currently playing was quite fast, but neither of you were particularly keen on the comforting embrace ending - even though you had the rest of your lives to hold each other.

Next to the two of you, on your left, Emily and Tara were jumping around to the beat of the music, while JJ filmed them. Rossi and Will observed the spectacle with drinks in hand and loudly cheered the ladies on. On your right, Penelope was engaged in a dance battle with Derek - one she was undoubtedly winning. Matt, Kristy, and Savannah watched the pair in fits of laughter. And all of the kids ran circles around the gathered group, playing a game of tag with Luke.

“What’s on your mind?” Spencer questioned quietly, after noticing the look of contemplation gracing your features.

“Hmm... I’m just trying to remember the last time we were all together, and this... carefree.” You replied, meeting the ever so welcoming hazel gaze of your husband.

Spencer smiled softly at your response. “Well, we’re here now.” He simply stated, and you couldn't help but playfully roll your eyes.

“You know what doctor, for an extremely outspoken man, and one who seemingly possesses more knowledge than all of us here tonight, you can be very cryptic sometimes.”

“I have to keep a few things to myself, otherwise you'd loose interest in me.” He joked with a chuckle.

The comment earned him another eye roll. You moved one hand from behind his neck and lifted it in between you, curling all fingers inwards apart from the ring finger. His gaze travelled to the notion and the grin on his face widened, because he knew what you were about to say.

“I’m stuck with you now, forever and ever and ever, whether I loose interest or not.” You teased. Spencer’s hand found yours and he brought the finger to his mouth, before pressing a soft kiss to the ring.

“I wouldn't dream of being stuck with anyone else.” Spencer proclaimed, and proceeded to attach his lips to yours in a blissful exchange of breaths. The kiss was short and sweet. Similar to many you’ve shared before, yet different at the same time. Better almost, because he was no longer just Dr. Spencer Reid, he was your Dr. Spencer Reid, and you were now Mrs. Reid.

“I love you, my husband.” You muttered against his lips after pulling away. He smiled, “And I love you, my wife.”

Spencer spun you around once, causing a light giggle to escape you, before he pecked your lips again.

“May I steal her for a moment?” It was Luke who asked, appearing beside the two of you almost out of breath.

“The kids really wore you out, huh?” You teased as Luke smirked, “Oh definitely! Which is why I’d like a dance with the lovely bride so I can compose myself.” He extended his arm and you linked yours with ease.

Shooting Spencer a smile, you disappeared into the crowd with Luke. The doctor watched you for a moment, once again wondering how the hell he got so lucky, when his thoughts were interrupted by a clearing of the throat. He turned his head to find your dad also looking in your direction.

“She’s beautiful, isn't she?” Your dad asked.

“Extremely.” Spencer whispered back, loud enough for Anthony to hear.

The older gentleman shifted in his position, facing Spencer completely. “Thank you.” Anthony stated and extended his arms to wrap them tightly around Spencer. “Thank you for keeping an eye on her, son.”

“I’ll continue to do so for the rest of my life. Nothing’s gonna hurt her ever again, sir” Spencer replied, before quickly correcting himself, “Anthony.”

The older man chuckled lightly as he pulled away. He straightened his tie and proceeded to place his hands on Spencer’s shoulders. “I’ve wanted to say this for quite some time now.” He paused briefly. “Call me dad, son.”

The unexpected request caused the smile on Spencer's face to widen ever so slightly. He didn’t waste time to nod his head in agreement and with one last hand shake, he observed Anthony make his way through the bodies and steal you from Luke for a dance of his own.

Spencer’s heart soared as he watched you sway to the music. In this moment, he was glad he had an eidetic memory that would allow him to remember this sight forever. How filled with joy you seemed, and how ethereal you looked in your white wedding dress under thousands of fairy lights.

Your eyes locked with his amid the celebrating crowd. Amid the off-key singing and crazy dancing. Amid the drinking and loud cheering. Amid every single person that was currently partying between you and Spencer. When his hazel gaze found yours, it felt as if there was no-one else present.

And you were suddenly filled with immense gratitude for everything that has happened since you met the handsome doctor. Grateful for every single step which lead to this very this very moment. Grateful for him, for Spencer.

Your husband.

Today was like any other day.

You woke up at your usual time to the sound of your alarm. You had coffee, and a quick bite to eat while aimlessly scrolling through the social media apps on your phone. You showered, brushed your teeth, got dressed, did your makeup. And when it was time to leave, you walked out the front door locking it behind you, hopped in your car, and drove to work.

Today was like any other day. Except that it wasn’t.

Today wasn’t like any other day because while you carried out all of your menial morning tasks, you felt a great deal happier. Because you weren't doing them alone, and with Spencer by your side, you won't ever have to again.

In Which I Attempt to Wreak Havoc Upon Panharmonium's Heart. Or Something.

Because I am an awesome friend, clearly, and possibly making people sad/verklempt is definitely an excellent way to (belatedly 😔 but I did start before the 15th!) celebrate Kakashi's birthday, right? ;)

I will admit up front that this is nowhere near as deftly structured and compiled as your Kakashi fanmix, @panharmonium, but that is precisely why I'm not even going to try to organize all these songs into individual playlists. Yet. Plus, I have a tendency to over-explain so this way I can better expound on why certain songs remind me of certain characters. Sorry that I sorta went a little... overboard?

What I'm Looking For - Brendan Benson | Kakashi → I may be a little biased with this one because it fits SO many of my favorite characters so well, somehow, but there's just something about the upbeat/tongue-in-cheek musical cues/delivery of lines such as 'I visit hell on a daily basis, and I see the sadness in all your faces' that just feels so Kakashi to me.

Happy Ending - MIKA | Kakashi → This is presumably a breakup song, but I enjoy it so much more in a non-romantic context (and the song itself isn't really boxed in with overtly romantic framing, so I appreciate that!). Anyway, some very important instructions IMO for listening to this with Kakashi in mind: everything before the bridge is about Kakashi up through his ANBU years, but when you get to the 'little bit of love' refrain, picture Kakashi meeting Tenzo, and then becoming Team 7's sensei, opening back up to Gai, adopting all the other leaf genin, assimilating Sai and Yamato into Team 7, and it keeps building with Kakashi gaining more and more loved ones to fill the hole in his heart, and then cry tears of joy with me! Just my personal suggestion. :D

Light - Sleeping At Last | Kakashi & Team 7 (/all his kids)

with every heartbeat I have left I will defend your every breath

→ I've seen this song used for ship vids and I'm all ????? about that because this is clearly a song about the love you have for your child! But I suppose if one of my favorite pastimes is aggressively re-interpreting love songs in non-romantic ways, I can't begrudge the opposite process... too much, lol.

Heroes - MIKA | Team Minato

your blood on me/and my blood on you/but to make you bleed/the only thing I wouldn't do/.../I wish there was a way/to give you a hand to hold/'cause you don't have to die in your glory/die, to never grow old

They're just grieving/in a lot of pain, and they can find their way out of that dark place!" feels.

→ I don't know how I keep collecting fictional relationships that work so well for this song, but literally every single line of this song hits so hard for these two?? Will never recover from this. (Also, I usually disregard when 'my love' pops up in the last line of the chorus, as the mood dictates. :) It's pretty incidental as is IMO.)

Renaissance - Paolo Buonvino & Skin | Sakumo & Obito & Kakashi & Naruto

→ Okay, this is a very odd choice given that it's actually the theme song for a different show about the Italian renaissance (if you happen to see this, Mirjam, don't hate me!), but this could be IT! The "those who break the rules are scum, but those who would abandon their friends are worse than scum" anthem that's all about building a better world based on these principles! I really hope our sharing-a-brain talent translates to listening to this song in this way because I am feeling SOME KIND of way about this!

The Lament of Eustace Scrubb - The Oh Hellos | Kakashi → I really liked the song you chose from this album for your fanmix, so now I've feeling a tiny bit too on-the-nose with my choice, but I guess this is just a Kakashi album all around. 😆

→ I am being very unoriginal here, and there are in fact already fanvids made for these relationships set to this song (along with many others featuring different Naruto relationships), but I don't think I'll be able to rest until I translate the movie playing in my head whenever I hear this song now into an actually watchable format. After all, they have come a long way from where they began, and I intend to make that both as touching and ironically hilarious as possible!

Goodnight, Travel Well - The Killers | Kakashi → Admittedly, I got this idea from a magnificently crafted fanvid done for my robin hood show, but I genuinely think it would be really interesting to make something similar for Kakashi centered around the time he technically died but got better? 7 Years - Lukas Graham | Kakashi → Alright, yeah, there are already approximately a gazillion pre-existing Naruto AMVs for this song and even one or two focusing on Kakashi, but they don't capitalize on all the angst possibilities in many of the lyrics or reach the fluff potential of 'will I think the world is cold or will I have a lot of children who can warm me [when I'm old]' and I cannot abide that!

Putting The Dog To Sleep - The Antlers | Kakashi & Sasuke → Okay, on one hand, this song is One Big Oof. But I do like the (potentially odd) way I've conceptualized it for Kakashi & Sasuke? Like, the first half is Kakashi going through all the tragedies in his life and getting lost in ANBU, but then in the second half it transitions to him wanting to prevent Sasuke from having to be as alone as Kakashi once was and they can face life together? It makes me emotional!

Trust Me - The Fray | Kakashi & Obito

I found a friend, or should I say a foe?/said there's a few things you should know/we don't want you to see/we come, and we go/here today, gone tomorrow

→ There are a few lines that call Tenzo & Kakashi to mind, but mostly it's Obito & Kakashi.

The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?) - Snow Patrol | Kakashi → I had to, right? My mindscape is a little murky/scattered about what specifically I want to think about when I listen to this, but obviously it has to do with Kakashi in one way or another.

So this is probably a strange concept to come up with and apply to this song, but the 'whispering, whispering, whispering' parts brought Konaha's virulent gossiping/passing judgement about others and often kids they don't even know problem to mind, too, and yeah?

The World You Want - Switchfoot | Ensemble → If I were to make a fanvid set to this song, I would definitely keep a broad focus, but I can't deny that the lines 'you start to look like what you believe, you float through time like a stream, if the waters of time are made up by you and I, I could change the world for you, you change it for me' FOR SURE has strong Obito & Kakashi/Kakashi & Tenzo vibes.

Red Eyes - Switchfoot | Ensemble, but definitely many dashes of Uchihas 😄 → I would like to thank Masashi Kishimoto for creating a world where red eyes are a Thing of Importance so I can one day make a fanvid using this song in not just the tired or teary bloodshot-red eyes way, but in a very literal sense too.

Above The Clouds Of Pompeii - Bear's Den | various parent & child relationships → This obviously derives from the not-caring-about-your-female-characters problem, but it always gets me that all the single parents in the Naruto universe are almost invariably the fathers! I guess sometimes you can safely guess that the mothers are still alive/exist, but either way we hardly ever get to see them. :/ The one exception I can think of right now is Kurenai, but maybe I'm forgetting another conspicuous single mother. Anyway, I don't know if this helps or hinders more a potential Naruto fanvid for this song, but regardless, it still gives me feelings?

Who We Are - Switchfoot | Ensemble → It just makes me inordinately happy that the chorus for this song starts with 'who we are (in the fever of our youth)', you know? :D

Brother - Kodaline | all the friendships we can stuff in here and then some → Quite a well known song I'm pretty sure, but I love how many dynamics one could showcase in a potential fanvid of this. And, not gonna lie, 'oh brother, we go deeper than the ink beneath the skin of our tattoos' deserves to be used in some sort of Tenzo 'n' Kakashi or Team Ro fan creation!

1. Who is the most affectionate?

hawks is more physically affectionate - he'll link their arms together, cuddle to enji's side in public, climb in his lap when they're home, hold his hand, initiate kisses more. but it's enji that people notice sending fond looks for his boyfriend so many times it becomes embarrassing - tabloids will have a whole article on endeavor's "heart eyes" ("my eyes are not hearts" enji frowns at the magazine in hawks' hands, who just shrugs and grins "seems like they are for me") so i would say, deep down the big man's a softie too

2. Big spoon/Little spoon?

enji/hawks. unless enji has a nightmare, because in that case, hawks is more than happy to be his lil jetpack.

ah they fight about the most useless things but one of my favorites that must come up often is enji thinking that hawks deserves better than him, and hawks insisting that he's everything he ever wanted.

kicking villain ass and family dinners. hawks likes to eat, and enji likes to eat with his loved ones all in one place. he wonders why hawks gets along so well with his children, and then he realizes - he forgot (again) how insanely young hawks is, and that he's merely a few years older than his youngest son, too. ngl natsuo glares daggers at his old man for having a boyfriend half his age ahahaha

hawks likes everything about enji. he's really into his body, but also his dry sarcasm, his occasional goofy jokes, and most of all, his heart. hawks will watch enji kneel down to a couple of children at a battlefield, his own face and hands dripping with blood, grunt out "are you alright, kiddos? come here, i'll get you somewhere safe" and see him do exactly that, scoop the kids up in his arms and carry them on shaking legs that could barely keep himself up, and then he will see him let his eldest burn the world, his second eldest scream at his face, his youngest treat him like dirt and know that he still cares so deeply for them, know that he loves them and wants the best for them and if the best is torment their father until he dies or worse, he'll let them without so much as a complaint.

enji, on the other hand, loves how easily hawks can lift the mood. he's learned to see through facades, and he'll call him out if he senses that it's hurting hawks to put on a mask, but hawks joking around and mouthing off makes our atlas feel like the weight of the world is a little lighter that day. he loves him for how driven he is, how graceful and hard-working and focused he seems in a fight, and thinks about how those traits were most important to him in the past but now he can see hawks use them to create a world where they can rest, and he realizes... that's not so bad an idea after all.

7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

enji speeds up the process of divorcing his wife lol. also he becomes more nervous around hawks, because shit, he likes him too, but he shouldn't be liked, why does hawks even like him? when hawks learns that enji likes him too, he gets shamelessly flirty. he doesn't make a move, of course - enji is still a married man, but he'll laugh at his nervousness, play with his own hair for enji's viewing pleasure and send suggestive winks his way like the damn tease he is.

8. Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?

enji calling hawks birdie is pretty obvious. hawks alternates every petname imaginable for enji when he learns that he's never been called one (he figures it out when he jokingly calls him darling once and enji blushes to the roots of his hair), his favorite is "sweetheart" and "baby". enji also calls hawks his angel, but only when he's being very soft for him

i mean..... both? enji tends to worry more for hawks' safety and hawks worries more for the crushing guilt enji lives with.

hawks - claims he does, but the truth is, he says a different thing each time and enji's happy to try new things as long as hawks will beam at him proudly after ordering

depends. they both do. enji topped more at the beginning because hawks was really into it and he was kinda insecure about asking for anything else, but hawks once offered and found out that he has a delicious bottom bitch on his hands.

i mean hawks doesn't have much connection to his family, or has many friends, but enji is kind of pressed to tell his family all about his relationship since, you know. the news would reach them sooner or later anyway

mirko is THRILLED that hawks is dating endeavor. the todoroki family, i mean.... shoto is confused, natsuo is mad, fuyumi and rei are both supportive and say they both want the best for enji. but mostly they just all think that he's really. Really young lol

hawks!!! he likes to dance around the kitchen while enji is cooking or doing the dishes, and sometimes manages to seduce enji into his arms too.

in an au where enji's kids are still kids instead of grown adults, hawks would definitely read to them (sometimes legit tales, sometimes just colored-up and censored versions of their dad's missions) and cuddle them to sleep while he hums to them softly. in a non-au, enji catches him with shoto sleeping all wrapped up in his arms and wings, right after comforting him when he had a nightmare, trying to keep awake but slowly dozing off holding enji's youngest, most precious son, and enji kind of falls in love a lot more.

Okay so I did a whole analysis on Ranboo’s lore music so now it’s time to use that for an actual analysis/interpretation!

There are a few themes in the playlist and I’ll go over the ones that I found one by one. I’ll also mention the songs that correspond to each theme.

(quick disclaimer,,, I’m honestly just having fun here theorizing about whatever lol, I’m hyperfocusing aight, nothing what I talk about can turn out to be valid and I’d just go !!!! new theory time !:D, so it’s just that lmao)

1. Blurring lines between dreams/nightmares and reality. The songs are “Introduction to the Snow”, “Dream Sweet in Sea Major”, “The Mind Electric”, “Stranded Lullaby”. I think this theme is the most straightforward and easy to interpret. c!Ranboo has been dealing with feelings of derealization for a long while and these songs allude to that. I don’t think I need to really get into this one that much given how obvious it is lol. Ranboo at times is having issues telling what’s real and what’s not. The fight with his mind is especially highlighted by the song “The Mind Electric” where he is, quite literally, losing hold on sanity. His “ill” mind is causing him to commit things he wouldn’t want to.

2. The need to belong, be liked, have someone close. The songs are “Ruler of Everything”, “The Bidding”, “Hidden In The Sand”. The theme of isolation also fits here, highlighted by Miracle Musical’s tracks. Ranboo is one of the only characters on the servers that is mostly generally liked. He hasn’t yet got many any enemies or anything of the like, really. It’s often joked that Ranboo has no spine, and that’s a big reason why he hasn’t yet gotten in someone’s bad books. It’s very easy to get him to do whatever you want, pull him to a side. If he protests, it’s only vocal and meek, and soon enough, he gives in. He doesn’t want anyone to dislike him and that can also play into why he has such a hard time to say “no” to anyone.

But it’s all... very surface level. People don’t mind Ranboo, they might enjoy his company, but that’s about it. It’s unfulfilling, it can’t be satisfying. Based on his speeches about people, not sides, we can assume he does value connections a lot. However, instead of trying to form more strong bonds, Ranboo had started isolating himself, choosing to stay away (perhaps in fear of being pulled into a side). His own anxieties is what’s keeping him like this. The longing is still there, though. Now the situation is better with Tubbo, but that brings its own peculiarities. Ranboo’s ready to join a side, the Syndicate, to protect Tubbo, the one he’s most attached to, going against his morals. Sometimes, it’s impossible to choose people without choosing a side.

3. The divide between good and bad, a mindset of black and white. The songs for this would be “Turn the Lights Off”, “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked”, “&”. As we saw from one of Ranboo’s latest streams (the one where he found out Tommy’s alive) and his other ones, Ranboo has a very black and white mindset. He has incredibly strong morals but they are also very skewed. I talked more about that in this post but in short, in Ranboo’s pov, there are the bad guys and then there is the rest. Ranboo seems... almost incapable of looking from a perspective that’s not his own or isn’t closely linked. He’s right in his own mind and that’s all that matters. The idea is that everyone has their own reasons for their actions and, if you looked closer, you could begin to understand them, but Ranboo is looking only through his own lens, is paranoid about making mistakes, and thus can get very harsh sometimes. Since the world isn’t black and white, though, and it’s never just their side or our, he often contradicts himself and goes against his morals.

4. A twisted sense of ego-centrism. My favorite and the one that’s most up to interpretation, I’d say. The songs would be “Killer Queen”, “I Can’t Decide”, “A Mask of My Own Face”, “I’m Gonna Win”. I’d say this one is least related to c!Ranboo as we see on stream, which leaves us with something else... That’s right, enderwalk Ranboo :D! I’d like to preface again that this is purely my own interpretation!! I like to do those a lot lol. But anyway—

A certain idea unites these songs, and it’s the idea of doing whatever you want for your own pleasure. Having no breaks. What’s most entertaining today? Oh, let me indulge in that. They’re also all about things that are actively malicious/frowned upon. Whatever you want to do without any regards to morals. And that got me thinking.

Let me talk about the idea of id, ego and superego. For those unfamiliar with these concepts, id refers to a person’s most primal instincts, their aggressive urges and hidden memories, superego is one’s moral conscience, and ego is the reality, the mediator between id’s desires and superego. The idea is that id operates on pleasures and the need to satisfy them immediately. It’s illogical, irrational, unconscious. Superego is the opposite, sort of—it’s a person’s moral system that dictates what is wrong and what is right, how one should behave. Ego controls both. So, I got thinking, maybe e!Ranboo is just... c!Ranboo’s literal manifestation of his id?

It’d make sense, I think! It’s still Ranboo, just “wild”, as he himself said. Uncontrolled. He has no regards for his image and indulges in his whims. Maybe it’s also part self-preservation. c!Ranboo is divided, he has barely any control of his life, people can make him do whatever they want whenever. And that must be frustrating. Maybe not consciously, but definitely subconsciously. That sort of frustrating of not being able to do what you want and always needing to listen to others could very well manifest as something like a whole different state where he does what he wants, maybe even purely for the hell of it. And to compensate for his id going out of control, he—his ego—might favor his superego, the morality part, more to compensate. That could make him harsher, too. More categorical. Causing a further divide.

And that’s about it for now, I guess. Yeah, this playlist really did... make me think lol.

(yes i am once again creating another theory for why e!ranboo could act the way that he does that doesn’t include manipulation idk sue me, i’ll die on this hill)
